The people working have insanely rude attitudes.which makes 0 since considering all I asked for was grilled onions I originally ordered them was told "it didn't ring up correctly so oh well" the ambiance is typical beach food. I'd rather walk to chick fil an across the street than spend $14 on a burger again. To the child working the counter who doesn't know service etiquette. Been coming here for years. They expanded the patio area after the hurricane and kept the same great food, drink, and atmosphere. For some reason the sunsets here are extra special. They serve the crowds efficiently with smiles and quality. The drinks, whether frozen or on the rocks, always taste better with their spectacular view. We never miss a chance to pay at least one visit each trip. The sand is soft and white, the seats are plentiful, and they had a great DJ the last time. There's plenty of room to sit and to dance. They have a killer burger, not thick but grilled to perfection and a taste that makes them special. It's at the rear of the Bon-Aire Hotel. Parking, if you're not a guest of the hotel, is the only challenge but worth finding a spot somewhere close. read more

Best place for tomatoes in the world. This place needs to be called tomatoes haven. Everything we ordered had an entire tomato on it. Even the wrap that we specifically ordered no tomato. The shrimp wrap has about 5 shrimp, 12 tomatoes, 1 gallon of sauce and costs about 15 dollars. Very not great with the flavor there. The nachos had a ton of chips, cheese, and you guessed tomatoes. There was probably 3 bites of chicken. Now why does this place get 2 stars and not one. Because, the view is absolutely incredible, right on the beach and amazing for sunset. Also when you order any alcohol drink they will DUMP alcohol in it. So that's a perk. Go here for a drink and a great view. Just don't go here for the food unless you need tomatoes. read more

This is a mom and pop type place located at one of the beach motels right on St Pete's Beach. Perfect for watching the sunset and grabbing a drink. The staff are all great- especially Cathy, Mark and Matt! The burgers here are PHENOMENAL! All the locals come here which is really telling. I usually end up eating two burgers because I just can't help myself. Burgers are definitely a must! If you are looking for other options I would recommend the fajita kabobs or nachos supreme. Beautiful view. Great staff and a good crew to welcome all. Our last " taste of the beach ticket's were a great hit with our guests to visit this local beach bar and grill. Parking is tight but worth the risk. Self service walk up and they have their act together. Orders were taken with a smile and food was served hot and fast. This is one of our favorite spots on the beach for a relaxing day or evening. It's hidden behind the Bon Aire which has a 50s style charm that I love. There's nothing swanky or pretentious about it, it's just a really good beach bar. People hanging out in bathing suits having some drinks and bar food. They have drink specials that often include Palomas and micheladas - YUM. The real gem here are the piña coladas. Man. They come in huge styrofoam cups and you can add a rum floater (highly recommended). They're not sweet or syrupy, just really damn good. read more

Ultimately a decent beach bar that serves its purpose. Burger was (or tasted like) a frozen patty with a kraft single. Shrimp wrap wasn't spicy as advertised but both the burger and wrap were pretty good. We've eaten at plenty of beach bars and given the higher reviews, we expected a little more elevated food. However, the service and format of ordering at the bar and getting a buzzer was super convenient. Would go again if we had to eat on the beach. Would probably skip the mini bag of chips for $2.50 though. Overall doesn't deserve 3 star so giving 4 stars read more

I've been visiting Sandbar Bills for over a decade and the quality never changes...it's fantastic! They make absolutely delicious daquiris that are incredible with an extra shot of rum poured into the straw for your enjoyment. The rum runners are also to die for...but be advised, they don't skimp on the booze!!! The mullet spread is also really good. It's served with crackers, diced tomato, and diced pickle. It has a nice strong flavor of smoky mullet packed into a smooth, creamy spread. Great with a dot or two of spicy sriracha. My go-to, however, is the cheeseburger. This humble burger is without a doubt one of the best I've ever had. Juicy, flavorful, crispy on the outside, and smothered in quality cheese. It's consistently great and quite sizeable!!! At just $7, it's hard to beat! Sandbar Bills is attached to the Bon Aire resort on the Gulf and is tucked away right along the beach. Highly recommend for a quick drink or some tasty food. 5 Stars! read more

The great thing about this place is the fantastic view. After that it goes downhill quickly. The food is quite bad and still expensive for what it is. We had two cheeseburgers and two potato salads. The cheeseburgers tasted like a premade patty out of a Costco freezer, and both were overcooked. On the other hand the potato salad was entirely too sweet, almost like ice cream, plus drowning in mayo. No French fries on the menu so you have get the potato salad or chips if you want something more. read more

If Sandbar Bills wasn't on the beach with a lot of seating, it would be pretty run of the mill due to the food/drink ordering process, but it's hard to not enjoy yourself when you hear the water, feel the breeze and watch a beautiful sunset, so we'll call it a solid A-OK type place. It definitely has the widest open area touching the beach for a St Pete Beach beach bar, so everyone gets a great sunset view. The burger is probably the best thing on the menu, and while it's pretty good, there are two much better burgers less than five minutes away; Boulevard Burger & Tap House, and of course, Willy's Burgers & Booze. Neither of those are on the beach though, so if you want the complete package, Sandbar Bills is the better choice. Their burgers are only available medium or higher; no rare or medium rare. There is a little choice in the way of toppings; such as sauteed onions, mushrooms or jalapenos for an up-charge of 50 cents per topping, The buns are run of the mill burger joint buns. All burgers include lettuce, tomato and onion. There will be a pickle on the side so if you're an anti-pickle person, ask for it to be left off. Their drinks are priced fairly for a beach bar, and they do have full liquor as well as frozen drinks. The food is pretty reasonable as well. I'd say the margarita is the best drink on the menu, but some prefer rum runners and tell me as far as rum runners go, this place has a good one. There's no parking for this restaurant as it's tied to a hotel (Bon-Aire) where parking is only for hotel guests. The kitchen closes at 8pm so no food orders after that. My biggest complaint, which is what gets it three stars as opposed to more, is simply the ordering process. All orders go through the bar, and the bar has seating around all the sides with a small space cordoned off to let people who's name has been called (or buzzer gone off) to come pick up their food. You cannot order from that spot though, so you have to push your way through someone seated at the bar to get your order in and pick up your buzzer. Same goes for drink refills. The staff are very friendly so never have had a complaint there. There are always lots of locals hanging out, so that makes for some great conversations as well. read more

Excellent beachside burgers and drinks! Margaritas are some of the best in town. The burgers are fresh patties and you can put your own condiments on them. The buns are also fresh and the prices are reasonable, around $6. You can walk right up to the bar from the beach and the atmosphere is extremely casual. Lots of deck space and they have shuffleboard. My only complaint is that it's hard to order food if they're busy - you have to order from the bar and there's no designated spot, so you just have to crowd around other people sitting at the bar.
