Top notch, tender, and tasty Hot Beef sandwich - they claim it's been voted #1 in the state and I don't doubt it. Real bacon (not that thin sliced, flimsy, tasteless bacon you find on typical fast food burgers) on their bacon cheeseburgers. Crispy tator tots. It's not gourmet food, but it's perfect for a hungry family on a long car trip. And did I mention the staff? They're super friendly and helpful people. Our server was spot on with recommendations, our food came out fast, and she came by our table frequently to check on us and refill drinks. We struck up a conversation with the owner / manager and he offered great insight on how to make our trip better. Last time I was here was in 2014 when I was just a kid, and it has stayed the same! This place is a hidden gem and is worth the stop going across South Dakota. The roast beef is fantastic and so is the ham and cheese, and I heard the cheeseburger is good too. I also had the beef soup with my meal and it was delicious and very hot. read more

Came in on the recommendation of the gal at the convenience store. Saturday is prime rib night after 5pm, and holy cow is it worth the price. This was just as good as any cut I've had in Dallas tx or Chicago. Thick, juicy, and super flavorful, no horseradish needed. I came in on an evening during bird hunting season, and though most seats were taken the waitress was awesome. We found Hutch's online and decided to check it out on a cross-country trip. Its a great local dive that served a great steak and mighty fine chicken fried steak. The portions were large and you left with a belly full. They have good cold beer, great, friendly service, and we would hit this place again the next time we pass thru Presho. The breakfast side of the place served up a hearty breakfast as well. The breakfast dining room has a collection of photographs that are interesting looks at the local history and some of them were priceless. read more

Amazing food!! We've been driving for a long long time we had food here and there but none compare to this cute little restaurant!! Very friendly staff, amazing atmosphere. I've NEVER left a review anywhere, but I just had to leave one after eating here. If we lived close to this cafe we'd be regular customers!! Chef knows what he's doing, my husband is a head chef and he also felt that he just had to compliment the staff before leaving. Hope they never run out of business. read more

Fine road meal. We had seen that the restaurant advertised "breakfast all day," and since we had skipped breakfast in Pierre, we wanted breakfast. The front desk gentleman was very friendly, easy going. The rooms are spacious and very clean! It's a little outdated, but I'm not complaining at all. Every time I come to Presho, I can't wait to eat here! I had the steak sirloin Friday night and it was by far the best sirloin ever. It's pan fried to perfection with a great caramelized sear and the inside was a perfect medium rare that melted in your mouth. Seriously, melt in your mouth sirloin flavor bomb, how'd they do that? It must be those happy Dakota cows 'cause plain jane sirloin never tasted so good. (kudos to the in house butcher!) You see, we did sirloin on Friday so we could break the bank with the giganto Prime Rib special on Saturday. It's huge and easily splittable, even for two drunk hungries like me and my fella. As if meat nirvana is not enough, the potatoes are amazing! Be sure to order the baked potato, which is a simple foil wrapped gem of the biggest red potato I have ever seen. The potato is some silky serious competition to the main event of cow heaven. Grossest meal I've had in a while, being a truck driver i get my fair share of disgusting entrees but these folks go above and beyond. Service was just bare minimum. We were on our way back from Badlands and were looking for a place to have a quick brunch and ended up staying for 1.5 hrs :D happily watching Wimbledon Men's Finals b/w Federer and Djokovich. The waitress was a very friendly , jovial and vibrant old woman happily serving food. We loved the coffee served - it reminded us of a certain Indian brand "Bru Coffee" . Food was good and price nominal. I would expect to be charged more in a similar diner. The place was neat and clean .One of our friends was on phone and his plate was getting cold. She was more anxious than us to make him eat his food hot. She didn't want to heat the food in microwave if it went cold because she believed that it would radio-activate the food.
