The vineyard was lovely and the building was cozy and welcoming with plenty of room to sit both inside and out. The gentleman behind the bar was helpful and friendly. We purchased a bottle of the Franc The Tank Blueberry - a sweet and tangy cabernet that had our tastebuds singing. We cracked her open a few nights ago and it was just as good the second time as it was in the glass while we sat and enjoyed our little party.

I came to meet friends with whom we will continue on to a local farm stay for the weekend. We sat outside on one of their covered patios. We packed a lunch to have with a glass of their wine. The tasting room looks like a barn and is very welcoming inside. There are plenty of seats for everyone. The warm weather had me wanting a white wine with my lunch. I chose their pinot gris. It has a crisp taste with notes of citrus. On my first visit I had a flight of all their offerings. My favorites are the Sweet Pea white blend and the Franc the Tank red blend. The old tobacco barn across from the tasting room offers another space to hang out and enjoy the view. There is also an accommodation below that makes for a unique holiday experience.

All the red wines leaned towards the dry side, which I enjoy. They are crafted in a traditional French style, with aging taking place in French oak barrels. Overall, I appreciated the wines we tasted, and we decided to take home a bottle of Petite Verdot. I feel it's worth a visit if you prefer dry wines over the typical sweet varieties found in North Carolina.

We got a wine flight with some slushies. Here is what we tried: *Semi-Sweet Traminette - just okay. *Strawberry Blossom - this one was better as you sipped and let it sit for a moment. It was definitely like eating a strawberry. *Peach Blossom - Strong peach flavor - amazing! *Cherry Blossom - Also good! *Black Berry Blossom - Slight tart finish, but overall good. We left with a bottle of the peach wine and compared it with some of our favorite NC peach wines when we got home. It is definitely one of our new favorite peach wines! Absolutely recommend stopping by Haze Gray to enjoy some wine!

The location is beautiful--tucked beside the Roaring River in a small valley, with a peaceful and scenic setting. Menus were provided when we sat down, along with an offer for drinks. Although this is a winery, they also serve beer and other beverages. Our server gave us a wine menu but directed us to scan a QR code for the other drink options. Since there's no cell reception, we had to connect to the winery's Wi-Fi first, which felt a little awkward. After all that, the beer menu was quite limited--something that could have been more easily explained up front. The food menu was also limited, which we expected at a winery. None of us ordered wine, but two of us had beers, and we shared the soft pretzel bites with beer cheese dip and a charcuterie board. Both appetizers were presented beautifully and tasted great--we really enjoyed sampling them. After our food and drinks, we walked the grounds. The property is stunning, with accommodations for overnight stays, a pavilion for events, and multiple access points to the river. Overall, this was a wonderful place to relax and catch up with friends. The highlights were the scenery and the food, while the downsides were the limited menu options and service that felt less helpful than expected.
