We cracked her open a few nights ago and it was just as good the second time as it was in the glass while we sat and enjoyed our little party.

I came to meet friends with whom we will continue on to a local farm stay for the weekend. We sat outside on one of their covered patios. We packed a lunch to have with a glass of their wine. The tasting room looks like a barn and is very welcoming inside. There are plenty of seats for everyone. The warm weather had me wanting a white wine with my lunch. I chose their pinot gris. It has a crisp taste with notes of citrus. On my first visit I had a flight of all their offerings. My favorites are the Sweet Pea white blend and the Franc the Tank red blend. The old tobacco barn across from the tasting room offers another space to hang out and enjoy the view. There is also an accommodation below that makes for a unique holiday experience.

I feel it's worth a visit if you prefer dry wines over the typical sweet varieties found in North Carolina.

We left with a bottle of the peach wine and compared it with some of our favorite NC peach wines when we got home. It is definitely one of our new favorite peach wines! I actually like their muscadine wines surprisingly. They also have the most amazing strawberry cake that is made with their wine! I go every year for my birthday to get a slice. In the summer, it is also nice to get a win slushy as well. The owners are always very friendly and their dogs will likely greet you as well. Since there's no cell reception, we had to connect to the winery's Wi-Fi first, which felt a little awkward. After all that, the beer menu was quite limited--something that could have been more easily explained up front. The food menu was also limited, which we expected at a winery. None of us ordered wine, but two of us had beers, and we shared the soft pretzel bites with beer cheese dip and a charcuterie board. Both appetizers were presented beautifully and tasted great--we really enjoyed sampling them. After our food and drinks, we walked the grounds. We bought a case of wine, which meant we got 10% off the total and our tastings were free. Looking forward to a return visit.
