New ownership has brought a new era to Dobbins Creek, but the wine remains some of the best in the area. The stainless Chardonnay and all of the reds were a hit in our most recently visit. They reds, single varietal Merlot, cab franc, and cab sauv, along with a terrific blend (ram cat) are all rich and berry forward. The tasting room and grounds have been nicely updated (they now sport a really cool patio with a fireplace). The tasting room manager, Ryan, is always a lot of fun and very informative. read more

This was one of the best fines in the neighborhood. My friend and I were returning from a festival at another winery and decided to stop by because of positive Google reviews. The signage was discrete, but we still found it. The winery has beautiful views with an outdoor area outside of the tasting room. The staff is extremely accommodating and very friendly. We both did a tasting which cost $12 each. You get to try all the wines on the menu, but the pouring is half an ounce. This made it absolutely doable to actually taste wines and decide what to buy. I lived in Napa Valley for a little while and had an opportunity to try their wines, and I have to say that the variety at this winery was incredible. They offer a lot of dry wine, but finish up with something sweet as well. The blends are excellent. I'm not a big fan of white wine, but dry Riesling was definitely hit with me. I was like "where the blank are we going??" because it seemed like you were in the middle of nowhere. Sometimes that ends up being the best place to be. This winery is secluded and absolutely beautiful. The views are amazing, I wish I could have stayed all day sitting out staring out at the scenery with a glass of wine. The inside also has a nice, remote, welcoming feel. Each wine we tried was good and the service was exceptional. I have recently been sticking with white wine or champagne but their Ram Cat Red was too good to not take a bottle home. read more

I went here on a random winter Friday in January. Bryan was super friendly and it was literally just me in the tasting room but it was very relaxing. The vibe was so nice even though it was windy out. I got to just chill by the window and do my flight and sip on a glass of their tasty cab franc. Highly recommend, any time of the year. They are open Fridays during Jan/Feb which is one of the few vineyards open this time of the year. read more

Dobbins Creek is a hidden gem in the Yadkin Valley. Probably one of the more secluded wineries in the area you can be sure to sit back, relax, and enjoy delicious wine. Not to mention the spectacular view! Charles is extremely kind and really knows the wines! I am an absolute fan of their dry reds. Specifically their 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon and my other favorite is their Ram Cat Red! Hidden gem in the Yadkin Valley area. Beautiful scenic views around this remote, quaint operation. Their dry wines are particularly fantastic. I enjoyed the Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, the Merlot and the dry Reisling. Yes I said it. Dry Reisling. They make it. It's on the small side, so during COVID only 10 people inside for tastings at a time, and the porch has seating for about 20 or so people total. They are also very inclusive of pets and bringing your own food, so you can spend a few beautiful hours here and even tour the vineyard at your leisure. Highly recommend! read more

Ok, bear with me as I'm playing catch up on a few reviews! :) I visited Dobbins Creek on November 17th. My girlfriend and I were popping around a few Yadkin vineyards, and this one had the most GORGEOUS views!! To add compliment upon compliment, their wine was delicious as well!! I really enjoyed the rose! After a very well done tasting (complete with Cheez-its - yum!) we bought a couple of bottles to take home, bought a glass to enjoy there, and stretched out on their lovely porch with its expansive views to kick back and relax! I will DEFINITELY be recommending this place to fellow winery lovers, and I'd love to come back! :) read more

Located in a little rustic cabin at the end of a gravel road. This place is not exactly easy to find. From what I remember from the tasting, this place is truly a boutique winery as they only grow vines on a small part of their land. As for the wine, i liked their semi-dry red and the rieslings (dry and semi-sweet). I tend to like the lighter, sweeter stuff, and those fit the bill. They have some dry reds for people on the other end of the spectrum. read more

We had a fun time at this vineyard and was graciously hosted by the owner. All the wines are great and he really has a knack for soft wines with a smooth finish. I really loved that he paired the wines with food samples, nothing too extravagant but really was a nice touch. I'm not such a fan of whites and especially not sweet wines but believe it or not my favorite was the sweet Riesling. Wowzers! This was something really special even a snobby Napa cab fan can swoon over. We came close to closing so we didn't have time to poke around but from what we could see the grounds were beautiful and the tasting room was comfortable and beautiful. read more

This was my favorite winery my friends and I went to! The owner himself poured our wine for our tasting and he was amazing! He gave us chocolate when it paired nicely with the wines and was so knowledgeable. He was great at letting us chat and taste the wine in between each pour. We never felt rushed! The wine was great too!! I love how much passion he has about the winery and wine. It also had a beautiful view! I'd add this to your list of wineries to visit while you're in town! read more

Lovely serene setting and very nice wines. We purchased their dry riesling and a bottle of rose to enjoy on the porch while we struck up a nice conversation with other folks, both visiting and local/family. Open year round with a big fireplace for the winter. I would happily return. read more

Ah, Charles! Runs the winery and is such a sweetheart. I went here with my sister, who hangs out quite often. They have a beautiful wine tasting room with hardwood floors and beautiful high ceilings... and you can enjoy your glass(es) of wine out in a rocking chair on their front porch which has close to 270 degree views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Brushy Mountains. Gorgeous rolling farmland surrounds this beautiful winery, with it's tasting room up on a hill. You MUST try their blackberry wine with chocolate........... oh my word! So good! read more

We were excited to check out Dobbins Creek Winery but we arrived at 4:05pm on Friday afternoon and all doors locked and lights off. The hours on Friday are 12-5pm per their website and the sign on their door. We were surprised and very disappointed. The winery is off the beaten path but the spot/view is incredible. However, due to no website notification that it wasn't open...gets 1 star. read more

If you prefer dry wine, this is arguably some of the best wine in the Elkin region. Charles, the owner, is pleasant and knowledgeable. The tasting room is a beautiful log cabin and has a fantastic porch for the warmer months. I highly recommend. read more

I went here last weekend with some girlfriends for a bachelorette party. It was WONDERFUL! Charles the owner, what a sweet man! The wines are PHENOMENAL if you like dry wines. Until last Saturday I had never had a dry wine that was made in NC. That is all Charles makes. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch on the porch, that was part of the wine tour we did. I don't know if Dobbins Creek has food available. Maybe Cheezits, as those are what Charles had for us to clear our pales! This is a special place and if you get a chance to stop in, do. Hands down, this is my favorite vineyard in all of Yadkin County! This is the only Vineyard I have ever been to that I can honestly say I liked every wine on the tasting sheet. I left with a mixed case the first time I visited, which says a lot considering I had never bought wine by the case before. I love to visit Dobbins Creek. The staff is always very welcoming and Charles is always on hand to greet the visitors and answer questions. The wine is great and we usually leave with no less than 2 cases. It's a little bit of a drive (1 1/2 hours) but always so worth it. My wife and I visited Charles and his winery and had a great time. The place is off the beaten path so it's no so crowded as some of the other wineries. The place is really nice, great big fireplace and the porch was a great place to hang out with a glass of wine after you have finished your tasting. It was nice to deal with the owner because you actually get some background on his winery and his passion for wine. This particular area has been in his family for a few generations and used as farm lands which Charles grew up farming as a boy. We found it nice to learn a little bit about the background. We have visited both Napa Valley and Sonoma County Wineries and the one on one wih the owners of several other wineries made this a fun day. read more

Even if this winery is a bit of a drive if you're passing through or even remotely in the area take a trip out! They have a beautiful tasting room and balcony on which to take in the mountain vineyard scenery and the owner, Charles, is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly.
