Same day service is what I needed and this company did nothing but deliver. I'd use them again and I recommend you do as well.

The technicians show up promptly, do great work, and keep your home clean by wearing protective covers over their work boots (seriously, it's a small thing but it makes a world of difference to me). The annual service contracts are very reasonable, and contract customers get priority, which is awesome. You can't plan emergencies, but you can plan on setting up a contract! For twice-annual tuneups on our HVAC equipment, Luis and David have both been fantastic, giving good advice and making sure our systems (installed by another, less responsive company we no longer bother with) are in good order. I only wish we'd had them install our equipment in the first place. For insulation work, Corey and team were great about assessing our home, providing recommendations, and working on the fly when it turned out some of our walls already had insulation. These folks are easy to get ahold of, easy to work with, and unfailingly polite and awesome at their work. I can't say enough great things about them.

Pricing seemed fair, was done quickly. All good! Then last year our heat exchanger failed, during the absolute coldest snap we had all winter. Good news - the part was under warranty, so no charge for the part! Bad News - while Gold service covered all parts and labor for any work needed, heat exchangers are excluded. So we'd have to pay for labor. OK, that can't be that much, can it? WRONG. They had moved to a cost per job model, so labor isn't charged hourly. And the cost to do this job? Thousands of $$$$. I spoke to several people at the company. They refused to do anything different. We had no choice. The ONE technician came in, and it took him less than 2 hours. We ended up paying over $1000 PER HOUR for the work. A complete and total rip off. I will NEVER EVER use this company again. Screw them

Their guy came in and wouldn't even look to see what was wrong with my unit. They immediately told me that I needed a new system and quoted me an outrageous price. They told me that they needed to rip out all my walls to put it in. I wanted to get a second opinion, so I put a request through yelp. Dan, the owner of Max, emailed me within an hour with his cell number. Stacey, the office manager, called me first thing the next morning and sent out Joseph, who did a careful analysis of my system. It did need to be replaced. Paulo came out and did an outstanding installation, over 3 days, staying late on a Friday night to complete it. My walls were all kept intact. And the price was MUCH lower than what the big name company quoted me. DEFINITELY USE MAX!!!!! Feel free to contact me for details.

Dan and Sam have been stand-out with the depth of their answers to my questions. I appreciate that immensely as a demonstration of how much they care about the subject matter, and how much they care about ensuring I'm properly informed on what is happening. Sam and his crew were out all day yesterday dismantling the old boiler and installing the new one. They were friendly and engaged the whole time letting me observe the process. Sam called me over throughout to show me up close what had corroded in my old boiler, and to explain to me how it happened. He did the same during install of the new boiler to demonstrate all the critical aspects for maintenance--including letting me unscrew and rescrew a piece to practice for future cleaning. The new boiler is running smoothly right now. I feel like I understand its pieces. Sam even took an interest in diagnosing why my bathroom heating panel (which has never worked) wasn't heating. He cleaned out its vent and it has heat now. My cat is very happy to be warm right now. From the way Sam and his crew talked through all the aspects of the work they were doing, it was clear they take pride in the quality of the work. This wasn't just a job to get over and done with. And what's more, they did it for $2k cheaper than my competing quote. Max Heating and Cooling will be the first people I call for any plumbing projects I have going forward.

Ryan was great, tried to keep my carpets/bathroom clean as much as possible and was patient in discussing my options and answering my questions. Surprisingly was able to get an appointment for install on Monday. Jared was also great. Definitely appreciate the small details and concerns to keep the carpet clean like hand carrying both the old and new water heater up 2 flights of stairs. Between the quick response/scheduling time, clean workmanship, and fine attention to detail, happy to say the leaking water heater experience felt less chaotic with 128's help! Total turnaround time, Friday 11pm to Monday 4pm hot water up and running!!

I called 128 Plumbing about one cracked drain pipe. I was told my entire house needed to be…read morerepiped. The estimate (#435094323) was $30,275 to demo every wall and ceiling necessary, disconnect first- and second-floor bathrooms, toilets and sinks, and replace the main stack. That was presented to me as the only option -- no alternatives, no phasing, nothing. And it did not include the roughly $6,000 I'd need to close the walls back up and reinstall fixtures, or the ~$400 roofer I'd have to hire and coordinate myself. Their own estimate puts the hole repair on the customer in writing. All in: nearly $37,000. Meanwhile my first-floor tenant was told she couldn't use her bathroom or her kitchen. When I hesitated at the number, I was told that at least if I sold the house I'd "have retail value." That's the line that made me stop and get a second opinion. Thompson Plumbing came out, found the actual leak -- old hubbed cast iron serving the kitchen -- and repiped it. $2,995. My final invoice was $3,420, and that included an unrelated frost-free silcock I added on. My toilet was fine. My kitchen sink was fine. My tenant's kitchen and bathroom were fine. Not one wall was demoed. Same house. Same leak. Ten percent of the price. I'm not going to speculate about why the two assessments were so far apart. I'll just say this: if 128 Plumbing tells you your house needs a $30,000 repipe, get a second quote before you sign anything. I nearly didn't, and it would have cost me thirty-three thousand dollars I did not need to spend.
