Beware! In 2017 I contacted Dmitriy for a quote on a heat pump replacement. I explained that I had my current heat pump for 21 years. It was the existing one when I purchased the condo unit in 1996, so it could be the original installed in 1982. I stated that it wasn't controlling humidity as well as it used to and I need to replace it. I made this clear in conversation and by email. I accepted his quote which was much lower than the other companies. I expected that his quote was lower because he was an independent contractor and the other quotes were from major HVAC companies. I was WRONG. I was SCAMMED. It turned out that he installed a unit that COOLED POORLY AND DIDN'T CONTROL HUMIDITY AT ALL. I need to set the temperature at 64 degrees for rooms to be 70 degrees with sweltering humidity. Soaring electric bills with no comfort. The previous heat pump could be set at 74. I questioned him and he told me it is because they don't use Freon any more - LOL. I contacted the manufacurer and was told that the model is not defective. I was told that it was their least expensive model in their economy category and does not provide humidity control. The higher quotes from the major HVAC companies were for the higher quality equipment that control humidity. I reported EZ Climate and Dmitriy Gorbachev to the Attorney General's office. At their request he agreed to return to my condo. It was a sweltering day and I showed him my humidity gauge reading of 70%. He then looked at his gauge and stated his reading is 50% humidity, but he wouldn't allow me to see it - LOL. I am a Senior Citizen living in a top floor small condo unit with low ceilings, under a black rubber roof with windows facing southeast, very hot living conditions. I have been enduring a sweltering environment of 70% humidity with the temperature set at 64 degrees and box fans continuously going. I can't use a dehumidifier because I can't lift it. My electric bills are soaring and I am totally uncomfortable, experiencing health problems and continuously sweating. Mold forming on food is also a problem. I have been living this way for the last eight Summers, June through September. I also wrote a review under the Better Business Bureau. I have now saved enough money to replace this inferior heat pump with one that will allow me to live comfortably. I am relieved to know that I will never experience another intolerable Summer again. However, I am really annoyed that I have the expense of two heat pumps in seven years because I was scammed. Another detail of this case is the "bait and switch". A few years after the installation I noticed that the model number of the Fan Coil on the contract did not match the model number on the equipment. I checked with the manufacturer and was told that both models were in the economy category but the one on the contract was more expensive with higher efficiency than the one installed. Obviously, this Fraudster saw this as a perfect opportunity to make good money from a Senior Citizen living alone. Based on my experience, the company name should be changed to EZ Scammer. read more

My condenser stopped working right as summer started and I had Sila come by and tell me that I needed a whole system replacement and quoted me 20k. I was ready to replace the whole thing but wanted to get some second opinions and quotes. Lucky I reached out to Dimitry as he came promptly to do a diagnosis and found it was due to a faulty capacitor. He had the part in his truck and was able to swap it out in under an hour. Sila left my unit panel open after they left and I'm not even sure they did any diagnosis of the problem. Do not go with those scumbags! Dmitriy deserves all these 5 star ratings! He gets the job done quickly and charges a fair price. We had a problem with the electrical wires connecting the AC condenser with the attic unit and Dmitriy was very efficient in diagnosing the problem and fixing it. He repaired the AC within an hour and charged a very reasonable price. We initially asked Winters to repair the AC and they took 4 hours to identify the problem then gave us a quote that was 10 times the amount that Dmitriy charged! We had an issue with temp between zones. Although upstairs were set to low, it was still increasing up to 80 degrees. Dmitriy came and spent some time and did a very detailed troubleshooting to find the issue and solved the problem. He is a very nice and honest guy, he went up and down between thermostats, vents and dampers probably 10-15 times to rule out all possibilities. I am very happy that I called him. Dmitriy replaced two furnaces earlier this year for me on a rush request as one died during the middle of the winter. I received a few quotes and quickly chose EZ Climate as he showed high attention of detail and was thorough in his analysis in converting to a high efficiency system (and his quote was reasonable). The install went very smoothly and the system runs great. In addition, he was very responsive and helpful with getting our rebate processed with Mass Save which is not a very intuitive process. My air conditioner stopped working. I checked the obvious (to me), like the AC circuit breaker and it was on. I called and left a message yesterday and within minutes Dmitriy responded and said he probably could come today. He called and came this morning and took about 15 minutes to diagnose the problem (the furnace was off and one circuit breaker was off -- not labeled as going to the furnace). Dmitry and his team are the best! They removed all radiators, and old oil drum. They put in 2 gas hvac systems with a heat pump. Also, they did all duct work in the basement and attic of our home.
