Rude real estate team. I'd steer clear and look for someone with basic communication skills and professionalism. Called about a listing to speak to the listing agent. Was told that the listing agent doesn't speak to buyers directly. I indicated I was interested in discussing the possibility of dual agency. Was asked, in a patronizing and condescending tone, "have you ever done dual agency?". Yes, on both buy and sell side. Many sellers prefer dual agency because it's simpler and gives them direct access to the buyer. And you could have offered to represent the buy side with an in-house peer (offering the same benefits without the conflict of interest should the seller be concerned) instead of being patronizing or suggesting that it wasn't possible. Or worst case, just say that it's not something you do. No need to be rude. Advice for your team: treat people with respect. Your sellers would probably be disappointed to learn that your attitude lost them a strong cash offer (and not sure why you would give up double commish...) read more

This meant that we had no prior experience, and a lot was at stake. I truly can't imagine having gone through the process with any other team. Houses were listed for sale, and within hours, they would receive multiple offers. During this time, Ryan not only managed to find us our dream house, she got it for us for a completely reasonable price, by sourcing us an off-market house. Our house fits every single one of our crazy and hyper-specific criteria! Ryan's ethical compass points straight north at ALL times. As first time homebuyers, it would have been so easy for Ryan to allow us to convince ourselves that an overpriced home was a bargain. There were many houses that we stumbled into, thinking desperately that maybe they would work for us, even though they were at the top half of our budget. Ryan was so polite and kind, and would point out to work that would need to be done, and explained the cost of the work to us, as well as the true value of the house. In the end, the house she helped us buy was about 100k less than other houses we had looked at, and required much less work. She has a spectacular superpower for making you feel like you are her only client. We were commuting back and forth for house tours from Vermont. Because we were both working, our schedule was tight, and often times, we weren't great about giving notice. Without fail, Ryan booked appointments that worked with our wild schedules, took all of our calls and held our hands as I flustered and panicked. I have no idea how she manages to provide this amount of personal attention to each of her clientele, but it's truly miraculous. Ryan's calming presence was vital for us making informed, rational choices. My husband and I were terrified of the idea of renting so we were looking to buy quickly; I'm always the first person to hit a panic button.
