I had a few other companies come and give estimates but they were lacking in the design area. Devin and his team really impressed me with their professionalism, creativity, and respect for my property. I did not have to chase them as to when they would be showing up as I have with other contractors. His estimate was very detailed and was easy to understand with breakdown and description. His 3D rendering was extremely impressive and really was representative of what he was able to create. Dan was present every single day to get the men set up and to do a check-in with me to make sure I was happy with the process from start to finish. Each day the crew left my property neat, never leaving garbage behind, and were very mindful to never leave my gates open due to me having 2 dogs. As for the work... I was unsure what I wanted exactly but knew I didn't want a cookie cutter yard like most of Long Island. Dan and Devin both worked with me to pick out the perfect colors and showed me how to best utilize the space I have. With landscaping, they were able to give me more privacy and brighten up my entire yard with beautiful perennials. The hot tub area they created with an outdoor television and pergola will definitely be used all year round. The outdoor BBQ and bar area will be the highlight of my outdoor parties! My favorite touch though was the beautiful pool and surrounding stone with an automatic pool cover which means I don't have to worry about my pups accidentally falling in when I'm not outside with them. Based on Yelp reviews we then called Devin from Flawless Masonry & Landscape who told us a circular driveway was absolutely doable! We were so impressed with Devin's design skills (including clear scaled digitized plans) and experience that we hired him on the spot. Plus Flawless's pricing was lower than other quotes we got. Icing on the cake. Then the pandemic hit so the job was delayed (NY orders), but Flawless came through after re-opening and did a superb job for us. The new driveway is both beautiful and functional, even our crabby neighbors like it! It was a big job but Flawless's skilled and friendly crew managed to finish in a week. Tommy showed up 2 hours later with his amazing, hard working crew. The broke up the sidewalk put all the debris in a truck. The job was slightly delayed due to the weather but John constantly reached out to let us know what was going on and he started the job as soon as he was able. At each phase of the project he communicated what he was doing. At one phase he ran into roots from an old Oak tree but his guys were able to remove them and didn't charge us for the additional work that was required. From the first meeting with Steve, he was honest, upfront, and helpful. We had an idea of what we wanted, but I appreciated his insight and professionalism in a few things he mentioned. Price: we got a bunch of quotes, Above All was right in the middle. Not the cheapest, but we cared about someone doing the job RIGHT. His crew does it all, moves sprinklers, checks drainage, etc. Service: Steve told me it would only take a day to rip out our old concrete patio and install a new one. I figured it would take at least 2-3 days considering the other companies we met with. He said that he "brings an army." I was WRONG. The day of install, Steve's crew showed up on time, ripped out the old concrete and by 4pm were finishing up. It was amazing how efficient and detailed each crew member was. Steve was there most of the day, not just overseeing his crew, but checking every single aspect of the job as if it were his own. The end result was amazing and again, couldn't be happier with our choice to use Above All Masonry.
