Hyvee is always a breath of fresh air. I subscribe to their annual free grocery delivery program. I use them constantly, as it's such a good deal. I can get food delivered in as soon as a couple of hours. It's so handy, when making plans last minute, and being able to provide a decent dinner for last minute guests. If I ever have any issues with the order, I know that all I have to do is call the store and they'll take care of it right then. I never have an order they can't resolve for me!!! Grocery pick up has been wrong 3 times in a row. When I asked for replacement items over text and it wasn't there, they told me to physically go in and get it. Of course the replacement items I asked for were there. If you want anything in multiple quantity, you will only get one but charged for more. After going in for replacement items, I had to go around and ask for refund of another thing that wasn't there...last time, I asked for a spaghetti squash and got a cantaloupe but only found out by the time I was home :( ... It's a really flawed system - just don't do it!!! read more

I've always gone out of my way to shop at this store, even though it's 25 minutes from my house. It's the best grocery store in town with a great selection, and I usually spend quite a bit of money here. But after tonight's experience, I'm questioning if it's worth it. I stopped by for a few essentials and ingredients for dinner, spending around $260. When I got home and started cooking, I realized an entire bag of groceries was missing. When I called, I spoke to a gentleman who confirmed my bag was still at the store, explaining that the cashier hadn't given it to me. Unfortunately, he offered no apology or empathy for the situation--even after I mentioned I was in the middle of cooking and live 25 minutes away. My husband ended up driving back to get the bag, and he was met with the same lack of concern from customer service. The employee reiterated that it was the cashier's responsibility to ensure customers receive all their bags, but again, no apology was offered. When my husband politely suggested an apology would be appreciated, all the employee could say was that he would "speak with the cashier." It's disappointing because while the store itself is great, the customer service clearly doesn't live up to the motto, "a friendly smile in every aisle." Instead of ready to eat burgers, as the picture shows, these are raw patties that you get in the meat department. I went there expecting to have lunch and was told those burgers are sold in the meat department only. I sent a message to corporate about this and they replied that they forwarded to my local store. Hy-Vee shelves are always empty and then scams their customers by running Big Sales for 3-4 days and then they run out after one day and no rain checks, they never order enough Sale Items This happens all the time, it's a scam to get you in their store to purchase all regular priced products. Hy-Vee has done an amazing job adapting to the changing landscape of Covid-19. Adding in a robust pickup and delivery operation. They have recently remodeled this location and it's modern look and feel instead of the dated 90s look from when the store originally opened. However, some of those changes resulted slower check out times due to reductions in actual cashiers checking customers customers out and reliance self checkout. While all the employees are still very helpful most if not all are absent from the floor during operating hours except the personal shoppers. read more

Took me over an hour to speak to a manager, was told countless times by employees they didn't know how to do something and have wasted so much of my time just to get them to do the right thing. Which they still haven't. I completely give up and will never step foot in another Hy-Vee that is how disgusted I am with their customer service and management team. There isn't an option to review this Hyvee's new gas station so I am putting it here. It is right across from where I work so it is very convenient but they are horrible about leaving things on the shelves that have expired. I've had multiple instances where I went to grab a drink and I didn't think to look and when I got to work it tastes weird. They were doing good after I mentioned it to a worker but then I grabbed a new drink today and this one was front and center and expired in Nov. I understand that they are new but come on. I shouldn't have to look past drinks that are 3 months past their date to find one that is good. I have only had this experience with the drinks so I am not sure about the snacks and stuff. read more

Let me preface my review with this: I got married a couple of months ago & undoubtedly wanted a beautiful and chic wedding. However, I'm realistic and didn't want to get caught up in the wedding hype and spend ridiculous amounts of money when I could make smarter choices to achieve the same feel without breaking the bank. I also knew I didn't want all the stress of DIYing flowers, so I met with recommended florists. While they all had great options and seemed nice enough something felt off.. maybe it was because of the crazy price quotes for simple arrangements (hydrangeas, roses & babys breath)?! But all of that changed when I met with Jennifer, the floral manager, at Hy-Vee. I contacted her and we set up an appointment. We reviewed my wants, dislikes, examples, budget etc. Following the appointment she made a couple of floral samples for centerpieces, boutonnieres, corsages and bouquets for me to take a look at. They were amazing!! She captured exactly what I was looking for and I was so pleased. She worked quickly to get me a quote on the flowers that I liked and even made suggestions for alternatives when I inquired. I cannot put into words how beautiful and of high quality the flowers were and how easy it was to work with Jennifer. She made everything so painless and it all turned out even more beautiful than I could have imagined. The best part was that I actually spent less than I budgeted for because of her suggested alternatives. I achieved the same look and spent approximately $400 less than the lowest quote from other florists. I am SO impressed with Hy-Vee's floral department and hope that other brides start looking to utilizing their services. I achieved a simplistic yet chic look at a very reasonable price. And, if I may so myself, they were by far the prettiest flowers I've seen at a wedding in the past year! read more

I visited this store today looking for an alternative to the store HyVee chose to close on N Oak Trafficway. What a mistake! The checkout person was not only totally not able to handle his job but was also very rude to me. His words were "Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to load everything back in your cart & take it to another heck out line." No damn employee of this store nor any HyVee store is going to tell me they have to have me do anything!!! I am the customer here! Nearly every order has something missing that I was charged for (and that WAS in stock) and I have emailed them 4 times with no response over the last month. Stopped here on the way to the airport and I thought I had died and gone to grocery store heaven. I could have stayed for three hours. Hell, I spent 30 minutes just twirling around in the fresh baked bread aisle. The prepared food was something out of Caligula! The pasta was the same selection you would find at an Italian grocery! I also love Hy-vee because they have an excellent organic section. The employees must be getting bonuses to help customers because they really are happy about working! I like Hy-Vee the best out of all my local grocery stores. If I'm only going one place on my grocery excursion, it's going to be this Hy-Vee. They have a fabulous deli and bakery. I'm dying to try their little restaurant, but I never have the time. It's THE BEST place to go with a toddler. You can get them a free piece of fresh fruit (banana, apple, or clementine), grab them a piece of cheese from the deli, get a free cookie, and a bread sample... My 2 year old loves it! The snacks really help her get through the shopping. This store has everything you need, every day groceries, a great health foods section, all the toiletries, pharmacy, baby items, pet things, flower shop, and a post office as dry cleaning station! Service at the pharmacy is absolutely horrible. I've been using the pharmacy for a few years and I can count on one hand how many times they've successfully filled my medication. You'd think the pharmacists would know what medication they are selling to their clients but every time I call for a refill or prescription request, the people helping me can't even pronounce the names or find them in the system. More importantly, this is a business that deals with people's lives and health. There is not much room for error in that. I can understand simple mistakes but this pharmacy needs to be held accountable for the countless number of arrogant and irresponsible actions that are affecting peoples lives. I have been attempting to fill a medication for two weeks now, and just a few days ago had to visit the emergency room because I couldn't go any longer without care. This is my final breaking point. I ordered a thanksgiving meal for 2 and what a mistake I made. The turkey was preprocessed (made out of the same process they make hot dogs but instead of pink slime it was white slime), the green beans in the green bean casserole tasted like they came out of a can, the mash potatoes tasted like instant.... I had to apologize to my guest for this awful "food". I'm very disappointed in Hyvee. I would give no stars had it not been for the nice gentleman who helped pack my order. read more

I am really getting sick of this store! They are constantly running ads for stuff they DON'T have in stock. Today, 9/28/2022, I look at their 'Wild Web Wednesday' ad that is running in their application and it says that 7-up 6 packs are .99 limit 2 and yoplait yogurt is .19. Great, I drive all the way down there, get the stuff, get to check out and am told that they are NOT on sale. I run the Hyvee 'Wild Web Wednesday' ad thru the app to show them and then at the end they say, that was for the 21st. What the hell!!!! I used to enjoy shopping at this HyVee ever Since I moved to the area 9 years ago. The past several months, this store is no longer a pleasure to shop at. This store is too crowded. whenever there is a good deal to be had, this store sells out to quickly. HyVee no longer issues rainchecks on their 1 day deals. I used to love coming to this store! I dislike the traffic in the parking lot. People don't obey the signage. It seems as if everyone is in a rush to get get somewhere. My kids witness 2 ladies cursing each other out over a parking space. People don't care about the pedestrians cross walk. It's just sad. If you want a giant big box grocery store with 100 varieties of everything, then you've found it! I think you could fit 3 or 4 of my every-day markets in the footprint of this store, and their selection reflects that. Just oodles of options. The store is clean and bright. Prices are definitely fair. I find myself geeking out at the affordability of certain items when compared to my more boutique regular market. Yay for typical grocery store stuff. So why was I even prompted to write a review? Their hot food section! So, sometimes I can be a bit of a fat kid. I'm not gonna lie that most every time I stumble into this market, I reward myself with a slice or two of their pizza. That shiz is good, AND it's reasonably priced. In fact, most everything I've had from their hot food area is legit, including their Chinese food and their macaroni salad (which yes, I know isn't hot....just shut up, ok?) I know a number of people who work in the area that go here for lunch. Typically I'd make fun of people for having their big lunch spot be a grocery store, but in this situation I get it. This new store is so bright and shiny I wouldn't be surprised if I saw the cast of Glee working there. The first time I checked it out, coffee was the first priority. Immediately to your right a Caribou Coffee station saves me! The girls behind the counter had clearly had their quota for the day. Have some coffee they shouted! Let's break into song! Counterclockwise, I'll take you around the store. Next, you'll notice the produce section with an entire wall of take out. Pizza, Chinese, a sandwich station, desserts, the regular meat, cheese and deli stations, wow! Around the first end cap there was a grouping of random things, upon closer inspection it was a case of all of the things you'd need to make a Cuban sandwich! Well, there you go! The bathrooms, OMG, the bathrooms. If I ever need a second address, this might be it. Almost a floor to ceiling enclosure, there are TWO garbage cans in each stall. It was beautiful. The bread and meat stations are next, much like the layout of most Hy-Vee's. However, to set themselves apart this store has a monster selection of EVERYTHING! At times it is a bit overwhelming. OK, Kurt we need a song to get through this! (Cue the mashup) Hy-Vee has been one of those stores added to the rotation but I can't help but feel as though I'm not always getting the best price and I wish I was more educated about the "local" produce that is sold there.
