    Room 1009 Balcony

We reserved a "premium room" with two queen beds. The listed highlights included: air conditioning, a separate bedroom, and a tub/ shower combination. Our room had none of these, and the view was very different from the website photographs. When I asked the check-in desk what features qualified the room as "premium," she read from her computer that it has a private bath and a tower location. Confused, I confirmed, "Don't all your rooms have a private bath?" Then, she added, "Also, it has a Juliette balcony." When does a first-floor safety rail across sliding doors equate to a Juliette balcony? In the hottest July, the room's air conditioner was broken. If we left the doors open, it was a safety concern since anyone could climb into our room situated against the sidewalk ramp. When the need for air became too great, we opened the glass doors and were hit with the car exhaust fumes from the parking lot. We spent three sleepless nights choosing between being overheated, unsafe, and poisoned. I would never recommend this hotel.

The cleaning department needs work. The blue blanket had hair and stains. The hallway had a strong musty oder. The bathroom has a cheap plastic tub shower with the sink outside of bathroom and poorly flushing way to low toilet, also no vent with a fan. The price doesn't match the room. This room is not in the same class of a Marriot or not even a motel 6. Great location but next time I will stay at a Marriot or equivalent known reputable hotel and drive to the ferry and pay the $17 for parking.

Took a gamble with staying here (based on the mixed reviews) and glad we did. My co-worker helped with the decision. He stated he stayed here and his family liked it. Made a reservation the week of during the month of August and was surprised rooms were still available. Checking in was a piece of cake and the concierge was very friendly - unlike the reviews. I don't recall her name but she's from Jamaica. Checked in and walked over to our room. Stayed in the newer building. Parking is TIGHT!!! Like really tight, the spaces are tight and finding parking is tight. The earlier you get in the better. I really liked the room. I always check the bedding when sleeping at a hotel/airbnb and the bedding was clean. The bathroom was very nice. The Bathroom sink (photos attached) looked as if a piece was missing and wasn't a pleasant site to look at as I was brushing my teeth. Visited the pool, ordered some apps and a drink or too. No complaints. At night, there's a big fire pit you can sit around and it was a nice touch. The location is very convenient. Ferry across the street, three restaurants next door, ice cream across the street, CVS less than three miles away. I would definitely visit again and will stay longer.

We stayed here for the night in off season January. We were a little confused pulling into the place; part of it was under construction, and another part was new. After getting our registration taken care of, and parking the car, it was obvious that we were two of a handful of people staying here. We were on the 4th floor. The room was beautiful! It was nautical themed. There was a mini fridge and a microwave. There was a table for 2, and a very comfortable couch. The TV was a great size for the room. The king bed was super comfortable. Even the pillows weren't horrible, but I could have used another. I wish I remembered to take pictures of the bathroom. The shower was huge and had great pressure!! The towels were super soft. This place is directly across from the ferries to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. It is within walking distance of Main Street, where there are plenty of shops and restaurants to try. Make your reservations early if you're planning to be here for the summer!

Sanitizing between customers is questionable as I found beaut in the bathtub and soap residue on both bathtub and sink . It only makes me wonder what else was "cleaned And sanitized ". Not to mention that in both rooms that we have rented bar soap was missing and we ended up using shower gel as a hand soap . I cleaned the bathtub and the rest of the bathroom with the sanitizing wipes Asked for rooms with the harbor view , were told that our rooms have a harbor view when in fact the were facing the opposite way of the harbor . Asked for rooms in the tower - I doubt the hotel is booked completely since it is September 10 - after Labor Day . We were told that hotel does lot have ANY rooms with the harbor view !?!? I am stuck here now for 4 days and will make the best out of it but I ended up sleeping fully dressed today

I just returned home from the Hyannis Harbor Hotel after staying two consecutive weekends. My first visit was excellent, it made for a perfect weekend. I was so pleased that I wrote A 5 star review raving about the hotel on Yelp and booked a return visit for the following week. My second visit this weekend was unfortunately a much different experience than the first. It was problematic and disappointing and I am hoping that we can reach an agreement on how to make this right. Upon my arrival at approximately 8pm, I was greeted respectfully by the younger gentleman who was working the front desk last weekend as well. This time I had booked directly through your hotel website and requested a standard king room. I was assigned a handicapped accessible room in building 2, which did not have a bathroom counter of any kind. This was inconvenient but manageable. The room however, did have a strong mold and mildew odor of which I am allergic to. Icalled the young man at the desk and asked him if anything can be done about it. He suggested to send an Engineer into the room with some Fabreeze. The Engineer did arrive and spray the room but it only seemed to mask the mildew smell slightly. I requested a change of room and was told that no other rooms were available. Around 9:30 my boyfriend tried to use tv on and it wouldn't work. I again called the gentleman at the desk to explain the situation and he said he sent the Engineer back to our room. The Engineer tried fixing the TV and then realized that the cable box power cord was shredded in half as if something had chewed through it. Exposed metal wires were protruding from the insulation and it looked like a fire hazard. He returned with a new power cord and said "I have been getting a lot of calls about these". I freaked out thinking now I am in a room that is infested with rats. How else would a power cord become shredded in half like that? Something had clearly chewed through that cable. I again requested a change of room, and was told again that nothing else was available. To make matters worse, at around 11:45pm kids on the floor above us were running, stomping and jumping enough to cause our room to shake. I couldn't take any more of that and called the front desk for a third time. I practically begged him for a new room as the compounding mold odor, fear of rodents and now incessant stomping upstairs was ruining my evening. He again explained that he couldn't because the hotel was full but he would fix the problem. I explained that I paid the premium for this hotel and I expected a better level of service for the price I paid. He told me a manager would call me in the morning, but that didn't happen. This weekend was meant to be a peaceful anniversary celebration with my boyfriend, but turned into a chaotic nightmare of fear and anxiety. I finally spoke to Hotel Manager Ms Velma Francis-Miller and I explained the whole story from start to finish. She stated that the only thing she can do is credit me a discount of -15%. That was a bit insulting after the night of hell I experienced. She told me that there was nothing more she can do on her end, and to contact corporate as they are the ones who can help. I am very upset, as I also work in customer service and this was handled poorly. I believe a full refund is in order here, and want to give you an opportunity to make this right before I take further action with my bank and the board of health regarding the mold and rat infestation. I heard back after calling corporate and they offered now 50% of the refund back. Totally poor management and hospitality skills.

    Shower floor

Not worth the money by any means. It's runs down and still high price. Rooms smell moldy The first floor is terrible. The outside door slams constantly so hard it literally shakes the lamp on the table. Why they would not install a simple door dampener to stop this is just an example of - don't care give me money- mentality. Walls are so thin I can hear the TV in each room around me. The shower is beat up. See photo - The only positives are location and the room AC works well. For approx$400 a night- go the air BnB route for sure.

Checked in. No one told us every amenity was closed. Then they wouldn't take off the amenity fee of $50 per day. That's bogus.

From 12 o'clock: Stringy, dry braised beef 'short ribs', very dry rice pilaf with a spoon of the beef sauce to moisten it up a little, flavorless, unseasoned butternut squash ravioli in browned butter with pepitas, exceedingly dry, unseasoned salmon with no sauce, gummy, pasty chicken part with a gluey, tasteless sauce and very tasty glazed carrots. The salt shaker did a lot of work on this meal. The crême brulée was nice. The room's ambiance was cold and sterile with no discernable decor. The podium on the riser was visible scratched, nicked and dinged. There was one bartender for 150+ guests and they were apparently short staffed. P.S. If you're planning an event there, beware. I know this hotel has been undergoing changes and renovation so I will keep my eye on the reviews to see if anything improves. The good- the food. Lunch, dinner and breakfast were all buffet were to my surprise was pretty good. I had limited interactions with the staff so cannot comment there. I will say we had a fire alarm go off (I get it), and we were told although the firefighters couldn't find the source, they (the hotel) would keep an extra eye on things and be diligent in our wing. Fifteen minutes later- the alarm in my room started chriping (assumed it was the battery). Called the front desk from the room phone 3 times over 15 minutes- no answer. Called the main number of the hotel from my cell phone and the front desk picked up. They sent maintenance, who stood on the vanity bench from the bathroom to reach the ceiling and change it. In contrast, one of the other room (I was a chaperone for a large group)- their maintenance person put a plastic bag and duct tape over the fire alarm. The bed was comfortable. While our shower was clean, two of the other rooms had bugs in the shower. One room had yellow water from the faucet. At this point it was very late so we had the kids shower in other rooms. Our shower had the overspray on the wall tiles from when they repainted the bathtub. Floors are worn and dust and dirt under the bed. No screens on the sliding door. Two bottles of cheap shampoo and one bar of soap were given - Luckily I brought my own. Now the electrical outlets- none of them could charge a cell phone other than the ones in the bathroom. Multiple chaperones reported the same. When unplugged in the charger, it literally fell out of the wall. And the outlet next to the bed- the switch plate was broken and the outlet was ready to fall out all together. Can't comment on the pool but the kids seemed to enjoy it. Everything else is just... worn and tired and dated and if redone it was not redone well. I would not call this a "resort". Conference center it was.

I don't like staying over friends or relatives' houses unless I must, let alone some stranger's house in an area I am unfamiliar with. Call me strange, but something about the concept of a B&B has so much in common with a horror film that ends with me getting killed along the line...but not here. My wife and I joined a few of our friends to go to Hyannis and Martha's Vineyard for Memorial Day Weekend and we stayed here. Craig and Ginny (the proprietors) were so friendly and accomodating. Both of them are very personable and full of great local knowledge that they really helped make our stay easier and more pleasant. You will be regaled with Craig's funny stories if you just take the time to speak with him. Ginny is so willing to make the stay as comfortable as possible. You could not ask for better hosts. At no time, did I think they would kill me, and cure my flesh to make sausages like in the movie "Motel Hell". (Sorry, my paranoia is a bit unreasonable). The place is literally a 10-15 min walk from Main street. The beach is 5 min in the opposite direction. You're so close, you can smell the salty air when you step from your room. The rooms are very nice. In fact, you have 2 choices of where to stay: Stay in the main house or the guest house. We stayed in the guest hose, facing the back yard and the large comfortable hammock that gently rocked me to sleep several nights. Our room consisted of a small sleeping area,, a bathroom and a closet. They got cable tv and I do believe there is wi-fi. But why come all the way to Hyannis to surf the web and watch cable? And the room size? Who cares. I was there to see the town, not stay indoors. It was more than adequate and very comfortable. By the way, the breakfast was DELICIOUS. You get two choices: some awesome egg dish or some ceral with yogurt. I went for the eggs and was pleased everytime. Damn, that was good food. Overall, we were extremely pleased. We're definitely going to stay here again. The rates are more than fair for all the accommodations, and the people here really make it worth the stay. My only regret in writing this review is that you'll read this and stay there with your friends and make it harder for me to do so. Do not make me slay you...

Worse yet, on Sunday morning, while drying myself after a shower, I was horrified to discover dried blood on one of the supposedly clean towels that the same housekeeper had given me. It was extremely disturbing and unacceptable for a hotel of Marriott's standards. I immediately re-showered and used a clean shirt to dry myself instead.
