I had high expectations for this spot as I had seen so much hype on social media. The grounds do look to be beautiful, and spacious, covering a lot of area. However, parking looks to be impossible, and the eateries was somewhat unaccessible. We got drinks from the bar at the beach house grill, they were $19 each, and really small. I knew they would be pricey, but they were not worth it. The views were pretty, and the picture were pretty but I would not come back.

We loved the absolutely breathtaking flowers everywhere on the exterior. The food is excellent. Highly recommend the Lobster Tacos in the front porch restaurant. The staff is lovely. Fastest valet on the planet!

This hotel has beautiful grounds but the rooms really need a good scrub down! Our room was located away from the main building with self parking which was a blessing as the valet area seemed constantly busy. It's just after Labor Day but there's still plenty of hustle and bustle around here with high prices, slow service but very good food! For me, the prices here don't meet the standard but if you're looking to be in Chatham they say this is the place... set on the beachside with a public golf course at their door step I can see why they still come. Please clean it up folks!

I love grabbing a summertime drink, highly recommend watermelon margaritas, and the food is great...tacos, pizza, and a few other easy to enjoy things we've had over the past few years make this the perfect spot to indulge and unwind in the sun while soaking up the beautiful views. A must visit spot when you're in Chatham or anywhere close on the Cape!

The property is beautiful! I had so much fun walking around and looking at all of the flowers and the views of the ocean! My family and I ate at the Chatham Bars Inn Restaurant but the water. It is beautiful and the tables for large groups are huge! The staff are very nice and polite. The service is good but if there are a lot of people the wait for your food might be a bit of a wait maybe like 30-45min. The menu is big and there are alot of options to choose from. I chose the Swordfish Tacos with Fries. I did not like the pineapple sauce they put on it because that is all I could taste, the fish was cooked very well but was bland. I think they need to season the fish more and put a different sauce on the tacos. The fries were literally amazing!

What can I say? Iconic and for a good reason. Property is GORGEOUS and there are at least 3 wonderful eating areas. We sat indoors and saw the stunning views. Breakfast was great and service was excellent. Elevated meals with artistic flare.

Beautiful place to have a meal. We decided to eat here after the first place we went to was closed. We ate on the deck area and the Staff and service was amazing. The Clam Chowder is some of the best I have ever eaten! We ordered the Lobster Nachos and OMG were they huge! Like 4-5 people huge. Whole pieces of lobster and they did not skimp! Price was good for being such a fancy place and the amount of food was huge!! They close for the season next weekend but it was a wonderful lunch on the beach this week!!

Saturday of Labor Day Weekend spent relaxing in the adirondacks with a cocktail in hand overlooking the water was sublime! Prices were a little hefty (~$18 for a cocktail. Beers were a *little* more reasonable at $8-10). We had other plans for lunch but noticed some people nearby ordering apps and the cheese board looked incredible and large! Some pro tips: Complimentary valet service makes parking easy. Grab a drink at the outdoor bar and enjoy the patio furniture, or if you're lucky, grab an Adirondack chair and relax while enjoying some classic Cape Cod views!

This establishment is cool but could have been so much better. For the positives: the views of their grounds and the beach are fantastic. Even with dreary days it was a bit relaxing just to look around - and we stayed there for 3 nights specially to relax. The room was also nicely appointed and very clean. You can tell they take great care to decorate and clean and it shows. On the not so great side, when we arrived we immediately wanted to do room service. I called and got voicemail, so I left a message of what I wanted. After waiting a few minutes I called again and got voicemail again, so I decided to walk over and just order takeout. To my surprise, they wouldn't let me do takeout. They first told me to go back and call room service but when I explained that I tried, they took my order and then told me to go back to my room and wait for delivery. I can only assume this was to ensure they got their full gratuity, but it certainly didn't scream good service. The crab cake sandwich was delicious but unfortunately the green circle chicken entree was on the bloody side. Im not sure, but I think rare chicken is bad for your health. But hey, at least they got their full gratuity! They also do not have a "do not disturb " sign. Therefore I was awakened several times in both the morning and the evening (turn down service) with housekeeping banging on the door. They were nice, but it would have been nicer if I could just signal to them I don't need service. Did I mention the goal was to relax?! And lastly, the cable service was not great. It went out regularly, and outside of the first day the guide and menu features never worked. That was quite disappointing. The place is beautiful, and with some tweaks to their operations they could easily be 5-star worthy. But the devil is always in the details...

We knew it changed hands and saw online how much it changed but still decided to come back. Soooo.. The room was like a closet, the bathroom you probably can do a couple of functions at once due to the size of it. Every night was a dance trying to get into bed without hitting my head on the TV that hangs on the wall. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! The first time we stayed here we stayed in a much larger room, but it was not available when we booked this trip. The hotel lobby seems kind of cold. Before all the renovations it was a warm, welcoming space. Will we come back? Most likely because it is very sentimental to us, but we will never stay in that tiny room ever again.

The staff works hard to find out everyone's names. They even cleaned my sunglasses when I left it in the room and put a lens cleaning wipe next to it as well. On the flipside, our room was extraordinarily small - especially for the price point. We're talking tiny New York bedroom small where there's hardly room for more than a bed and nightstand. The bathroom is also minuscule with barely a free inch of space. Hardly what I can call 5 stars - at best 3 stars, and I'm being generous here. Yes, the rooms are renovated. But the house is 200 yrs old and you can't make a 5 ft bathroom feel like a palace no matter how much marble you slap on the walls. So I settled on a 4 to balance both sides. But I would honestly say, once again, that the service was some of the best I've ever experienced at a hotel. And that might keep me coming back - maybe in a bigger room, though.

Do not stay at for Hawthorne Motel…read more It saddens me to have to say that the quality of management has really depreciated so badly I would never stay at this motel again. My husband and I have stayed here for 10 years and this year with the management being Jeff and Kari we experienced the worst in hospitality that we have experienced in our 62 years of life My husband and I were traveling with our 2-year-old granddaughter and have stayed here for the past 3 years with her. Although the accommodations were modest at best we were treated well, and always returned same time each year. This year unfortunately we were met by Jeff who immediately started complaining about hot having to manage this because there wasn't anybody else in the family to do it. He was very aware that we will bring in our granddaughter asked if we even needed a pack and flight which we did not we had accommodations for her for the floor. The next day when I saw Jeff with my granddaughter he waved and said hi Gramm! Although we noticed a difference in the accommodations at the motel to name a few there was no luggage cart ( Jeff complained he was tired of people hitting the air-conditioning units with it) a soda machine ( he was tired of fixing it) there were no more small table next to the lawn chairs, we were provided a quarter of a sponge which was used on the sink when we arrived, a quarter paper towels in the paper towel holder a quarter toilet paper in the toilet paper dispenser - seemed like there was a need to severely cut costs ? In the bathtub the safety handle collapsed when used by my granddaughter ! A lamp was broken in the room and when I put it outside to be taken by housekeeping staff, Jeff appeared annoyed and short with my husband. By the third morning my husband was asked to be spoken to by Jeff and my son was also present. He proceeded to say how disruptive we were and that he was receiving complaints about us from other guests ! ( we had been there less than 48 hours at this time with our granddaughter ) Interesting our neighbors next door who we knew from last year told us they did not hear a thing and was shocked to hear this as well, " wow they really made you feel unwanted didn't they/" Jeff noted that I called tomy husband to bring her back from the car and felt that was disruptive. I've never been treated so offensively in a place that supposed to be hospitality focused in my life. Jeff even went on to say that a guest left " early" come to find out normal departure time was 11 and she said she left at 8 because we were noisy... We leave our room by 715am ! Follow on conversation with Jeff and Kari left us to feel like we were burden, unwanted and severely disrespectful of others and they had no choice but to put us in our place! They provided no viable explanation of disruptive behaviors that we would think would warrant this horrible treatment . My husband and I decided this was not a place we felt comfortable staying in for 1 more minute and left 3 days early. Kari and Jeff refused to refund our 3 nights stay- "good luck with that your card was aready charged" she smirked. So this is what it's come to at the Hawthorne Motel we will not be back and do not recommend others to visit unless they want to be subjected to an unstable unhappy individuals unwelcoming ways. And although, there's a trend even with classic high-end resorts (St. Regis, J.W., Ritz-Carlton) to make their renovations a little too modern for my taste, Wequassett successfully kept their old school charm. We always stay at their Signature Water View King rooms (and book well in advance as there's only a few of these) so I can't speak of other room types. The amenities are flawless and even though the main pool gets VERY crowded during summer weekends, the pool attendant always found 2 chairs for us. Brandon and Angel are a total headache to deal with. We requested to have the gym open early for the day of my cousins wedding. Angel said yes to having the gym opened at 4:45am in the morning before the wedding. I was there waiting -Didn't happen. This pushed back my whole schedule on the wedding day. We asked to pay for the Mother Goose house as a wedding gift to the bride and groom - also didn't happen. I had to discuss the issue with Brandon. No discount no offers of any kind- mind you 3 nights is about 10K. Not cool at all. The wedding planner also seemed to have no idea what was going on with decisions, when speeches were going to be and where to set up the podium for the efficient. The main staff you speak with don't really seem to care and frankly just aren't the type of service you look for in a luxury resort . I'm an extensive traveler and would strongly recommend not to revisit this place. We also got coffee at Sill and couldn't find any place to sit down to drink our coffee and have a pastry. We even asked the host where we could sit and it was outside on wet chairs or in the lobby. The dining room was totally empty and asked if we could sit there and was denied. Also there isn't enough parking for guests. The working driving around on golf carts talking on their cell phones also felt a little scary. The Wequassett staff made a bad atmosphere for the guests paying a lot of money. It felt very unfair between the gym not being open on time to the disorganization of the wedding timeline to getting the bills confused.

You could park once and then not have to drive again for your time in Chatham. Also, it's very well equipped - the people who run the place know what people need for the beach and work hard to make it happen. There's towels, wagons, umbrellas and coolers. There's a communal fridge and an ice machine. There's a vending area for drinks and a continental breakfast and a wine hour. Also plenty of space for sitting outside and visiting with a view of the water. The beach across the street is really cute, too. The rooms themselves are quirky, but clean and workable with fast WiFi. The stairs are really steep so if you have any mobility issues at all I would recommend a first floor room. The bed was comfortable and the new AC was useful for blocking out next door neighbor noise. The bathroom was a bit weird - the sink counter was falling off the base a bit and the floor seemed soft/likely in need of replacement, but all was functional. The only really odd thing was that my room was next to a room which had a private bath not in the room but across the hallway, and the neighbors had both bathroom and bedroom doors open going back and forth as if it was their private area - I felt like I was intruding although I had to go through the hall way to enter and leave. We were able to walk into town fully on sidewalks, but decided not to at night because we have heard cars are known for speeding in the area and the streets are quite narrow. Better safe than sorry. Back to Surfside...we absolutely loved it. We truly felt like we were staying with family. Chris provided thoughtful suggestions, always asked how our outings were and chatted to us about where we were headed out to. Everything was explained super thoroughly. We felt very safe and welcome. Breakfast (continental) was provided, which most hotels didn't seem to do - had basics like coffee and tea, oatmeal, hot chocolate, pastries, fruit, bagels and english muffins. They also always had granola bars around which ended up being super helpful to hold us over when we needed a snack during the day. They had a "vending machine" with a few alcoholic beverages available, as well as water, all reasonably priced. The Inn had more amenities than we expected - although not fancy, super helpful stuff like a fridge for everyone to use (we brought home leftover wine and food one night and were able to store it), beach towels, beach wagons, beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers and more all to borrow. There were two outdoor showers, a fire pit and nice porch, where happy hour was held each evening where they offered wine and cheese, which was so thoughtful! There was a business area and plenty of tables if you needed to do work. Our room had everything we needed - the only thing we would have liked is a full length mirror (hard to get ready for a wedding without one!) some type of closet (or just more wall hooks) and a few more drawers to put things away. Other than that, the bed was comfortable and clean, bathroom was standard and also clean, basic toiletries were provided and we had a table with chairs, hangers, night stands with big drawers and laps and working AC! Truly almost everything we needed. Would also love a pool, but I know that's asking a bit much! Something to consider down the line maybe. You could definitely hear other guests (for example, a baby crying in the next room), but people were definitely respectful of quiet time and there was no rowdiness. Something to keep in mind is that it's listed as 2-2.5 stars, which many people think reflects things like cleanliness and related aspects. Hotel star ratings rate what the hotel provides, from basic, no frills, a place to put your head down and shower to luxurious amenities. The Surfside Inn provided more than enough for our stay and the vibe was very Cape Cod! Would 100% come back - Thank you Chris for our great stay!

We had such a nice stay at this hotel, Lisa from the front desk made us feel so welcome. Not only was she very attentive, but she took the time to show us on a map where to go for dinner, what beaches to hit, and the general hot spots in the area. You can tell she really cares about the hotels customers. The only suggestion would be for the housekeeping not to turn off the AC in the rooms when they're in there for cleaning. It was such a hot week and we came back to the room on several different days to see that the windows had been open and the AC off. It was actually warmer in the hotel room than it was outside. All-in-all, I'd absolutely stay here again. Such a great location, close to town, the beaches, and to our friends in the area.

Our room was nice with comfortable bed, large screen tv, and well designed bathroom sink area. We were really impressed with the walk-in glass shower with his and her bathrobes!! That's where the good vibes ended. Next morning we were looking forward to using the shower and, lo and behold, NO HOT WATER!! Contacted front desk and two women came to our room. One of them ran the faucet (just as we did) for a few minutes. They apologized and said a maintenance tech would check out the issue. Five minutes later, the tech arrives and promptly goes over to the sink and runs the faucet for a few minutes. He apologizes and says that perhaps the "lines needed to be bled" . He further explained that it would take some time to restore hot water. These people were very polite but had no clue on the issue!! Needless to say, we never got our shower and left very disappointed. I'm not a lodging expert but I would think one of the top priorities any hotel manager should hold to a high standard is to make sure there is HOT WATER!!
