I was burning up air miles this trip, so I was able to stay in better places than usual. And the Hyatt Place in Biloxi was an absolutely superb choice. Every employee was courteous, friendly, and accommodating. The facilities were immaculate, as was the room. Tasteful furnishings adorned every surface. Check-in was especially smooth due to the aforementioned employee qualities. The room was very comfortable, clean and all appliances were in good working order. The complimentary breakfast was in the top five of the ones I have seen in the 65 countries I have traveled to. They literally offered something for every taste, including specialty items like nut milks and latin dishes. I don't know how much a room rate is when paying cash. This was a great hotel! We stayed just for one night on a road trip from Florida to Texas, and Biloxi was a great stopping point. The hotel has safe lit up parking lots which was important to us when traveling with cars full of our belongings while moving. The hotel was spotless and the employees were all friendly. Our room was super clean and a really nice size! We were only here to sleep, but I wish we had more time to explore. The ocean is right across the street. Bed was comfortable and the shower was nice. Stayed at Hyatt Place Biloxi and it was very disappointing. The room was not clean. The toilet was dirty, there was hair in the tub and even in the bed sheets. The bed also had a weird smell--I kept waking up because something smelled off, like the carpet or the bedding/sham hadn't been cleaned properly. The gym smelled musty and unpleasant. If you have a wheat allergy or celiac disease, be careful here. There are no allergen labels, no gluten-free options at breakfast, and staff didn't seem knowledgeable. Even the juice is poured into containers with no labeling. The bar/food area is mostly burgers and fried food, with no gluten-free menu or allergy information at all. Overall, it felt unclean and not safe for people with food allergies. I would not stay here again. read more

I have family nearby and relied on their services but you couldn't just walk into town for a meal. I asked for a view of the ocean; I got a view of the cemetery. Not quite the view I had in mind. The bed was the most comfortable out of the three hotels we stayed at on our trip. The bathroom floor was always wet, so that was strange. It took the hot water a long time to heat up. I don't have anything to compare it to in Buloxi. We spent 4 days at the hotel. Hotel was just okay. Room upon check in was not super clean. You could feel sand on your feet in the carpet. The pull out bed for our son had either blood or rust on it. Shower water pressure was very weak as we stayed on the top floor. Parking was always an issue as they did not seem to have enough parking. The washer and dryers were out of service at the time of our stay. This hotel needs a lot of updates and definitely not worth $250 a night. read more

Normally I wait a bit til I'm out of a location to post a review, but I just checked out after a short but LOVELY stay and what to strike while the memory is hot! Check-in: after a one day, multi-state drive from SC, I arrived here about 7pm. From the time I booked, there was excellent communication. Confirmation emails etc. And when I arrived front desk staff was GREAT, with clear explanation of where elevators were, where breakfast would be and and what times, their bar + snack hours etc. She was just extremely efficient, gave me all the info I'd normally ask about before I even asked and was super pleasant. She even updated my reservation with my Hyatt # and fixed some weird fluke in the system. Room: Exactly what I expect from Hyatt Place, which I LOVE - that suite-like atmosphere and layout for each room. Clean, perfect on the towels etc. AND it was a room with a view - except it was dark and so - no view. My only complaint is the windows don't open which is a huge reason people stay right on the beach - view and ocean air access - but I already was mentally prepped for no window opening as I've never seen that with a Hyatt Place. (Sunrise pics from my room below) Breakfast: I got up early bc I work on East Coast time, watched that gorgeous sunrise, and worked. Internet was great! Went downstairs for breakfast at 6 and I have to rave about the complimentary breakie: First off - presentation: Le Creuset cookware is always a happy place for me and all of the hot items were in gorgeous Le Creuset. I'm not a fan of scrambled eggs usually (a whole childhood trauma thing lol) but these scrambled eggs in Le Creuset were presented so prettily- they looked DELISH and I went ahead and got them, plus the homestyle potatoes and crispy bacon - THEN I saw they had TORTILLAS!! So West Coast Style (with potatoes) breakfast burritos it is! Seriously so good. Checkout: their checkout is noon, which gave me time to work, eat, shower and head out without a rush. Again, courteous front desk staff and they had some guys there working on the fire alarms who also were super pleasant. Summary: I have to come thru here often and definitely putting this as my go to spot to overnight at going forward. read more

Barely passed as a 5 but I'm letting this one slide. The reason is because of my personal comfort. The blankets are pretty thin hospital blankets and either down or down alternate type blankets/pillows which I can't use well. I get stuffy, puffy, and you know how the blankets get lumpy. Ugh. No shampoos/body wash/conditioner in the shower caddy and only given a small bar of soap & a conditioner. But the mattress was very comfortable and firm which is my favorite, a great firm! Mattress! STAY FOR BREAKFAST! Trust me! This is why I let my 3/4 slide to a 5 star. I am never a big breakfast at hotels girl, they never are really good but this one was great! Everything was changed out fresh! Cereals, yogurts, mills, biscuits & gravy, pancakes, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, build your our breakfast tacos w/ everything & a massive pile of bacon! Let me just start by saying, I NEVER write bad reviews. However, I feel like I need to. I was very disappointed in my stay. I had chosen this hotel based on its advertised amenities and positive reviews, but unfortunately, the stay fell well short of expectations. I was taking a quick one-day trip to attend a show at the Beau Rivage nearby, and I specifically chose this hotel -- despite other options -- because of the pool area. I was looking forward to a fun and relaxing stay with my girls, and sadly, the experience was nothing like what I envisioned, especially given the high cost for a single night. Upon arrival, we were assisted and from the start, the interaction felt rushed and dismissive. She spoke very quickly, avoided eye contact, and showed no concern when informing me that our room had been changed. I was told it was because another guest needed the handicapped-accessible room -- but I was never asked if I required those accommodations myself. Additionally, she charged me a $50 early check-in fee, even though the room was ready and no flexibility or understanding was offered. Once in the room, a number of problems became immediately clear: * No bags in the trash cans * The beds did not appear to be queen-sized as listed in the booking. * The TV in the room did not work. * The phone to call the front desk was non-functional. * The bathroom door did not lock. But most disappointing of all was the condition of the pool area, which was a major factor in choosing your hotel in the first place. The hot tub was out of order entirely. The pool water was murky and did not appear clean or well-maintained. The underwater lights were not working, making it feel unwelcoming -- especially in the evening. There was no music playing despite speakers being present, which took away from the atmosphere completely. Even more concerning, there was no keycard access or gate security, so anyone off the street could (and did) enter the pool area. That made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe -- especially as a group of women traveling alone. It felt like the pool area was not being managed, monitored, or secured at all. This was meant to be a quick but special trip, and instead, we left feeling frustrated and let down. The overall experience did not reflect the standards I expected, nor was it worth the money we spent. I recently stayed at this Hyatt and will do so again. The hotel was clean and very well maintained inside and out. The staff was beyond helpful and very friendly. I had a return flight at 5pm, and they can hold your luggage for you after you checkout, so you can spend for final hours at the pool or the beach across the street. The hotel is in the best spot, since you can basically walk to the beach, down the way to MGM field, the casinos and great places to eat. The only downside is the walk across the street to the beach. You can either walk a couple blocks east and hit the cross walk or try your luck at dodging high speeding cars/trucks at the entrance of the hotel. Once you do make it across the street, the beach is wonderful. Also, the ice cream truck is great too as it cruises up and down the beach. I loved the fact, that on the beach side is a great walking/running/bike path that takes you to the casinos in one directions or if you want to walk 2.4 miles one way like I did down to Sharkheads for some tourist t-shirts you can. I travel for my job, but this was the first hotel where the beds and pillows were perfect for me. The shower was great and everything was working correctly in my room. read more

We really like the Hyatt Place brand in general, because of the room setup (2 queens plus a sofa bed), as well as that it is a pet friendly hotel. This one was expensive, and we thought we would try it, as it appeared to be oceanfront. We did not look closely enough at the reviews, however. The gulf of mexico is across a busy highway from the hotel. There is no crosswalk, unless you walk down to the light (which no one does, because of distance). You are left playing Frogger across the road. You would think that it would not be that big of a deal, "just cross the street" you say, but you should not have to risk life and limb to get to the beach. There really should be an overpass, a walking bridge. Once you get there, the sand on the beach is nice and it is nice to walk along. The water is warm and brown. It feels oddly warm, like bathwater warm, but not really in a good way. It is opaque with silt, so you cannot see the bottom, and it is very brown. The bottom is shallow, so you can walk out a ways. There is short seaweed growing, so it feels squishy, like walking on the bottom of a muddy creek, slightly unpleasant. It does not feel like the ocean--neither the water temperature, nor the sand when you are in the water. There is still the vastness of it, which is nice to look at, and it was ok to wade in, but it was not appealing as something we would return to in the future. The pool and outdoor area of the hotel are nice, but when it comes down to it, the pool is small. It looks bigger in the photos than it actually is. Perhaps it is the shape that limits capacity. We arrived at 10pm on a Friday night and it was full. And by full I mean maybe 8-10 people in the pool area. The pool looks blue in some of the review photos, but it is not. It is brown. The hotel itself we liked. Our two-queen room was accessible, so it had a shower instead of a bathtub (so if you are planning on a bathtub, be sure to check ahead of time). (The towel rack was actually really high up, so I am not sure how "accessible" that would be.) What was great was the ice machines are in a separate room, so the elevator area is not noisy. Even though our room was near the elevator, it was not a problem. Besides the space, we liked the breakfast and safety. This hotel is doing a great job of maintaining masks and offering to go food, while also offering the hot breakfast (eggs, bacon, and french toast, already boxed and ready to go). It is distributed by an attendant. Everyone has masks and gloves. Both staff and guests wear masks. It is nice that they are being conscientious and making sure safety protocols are in place. The bacon was excellent. Overall, we liked the hotel, but did not like the price we paid, as the difficult beach location and beach quality did not make it worth paying 3-4x what it normally costs to stay at a Hyatt Place. Our final bill was $390 total for one night. We also had an issue when we checked in that the night manager (it was 10pm) did not handle very well. We finally had to come down and then still had to wait for her. She was not reachable and then not very good with customers. It took about 45 minutes.The maintenance guy, however, was amazing and ended up helping us with what we needed, solved our issue, and provided excellent customer service while he did so. read more

The place is nice and all, and I know none of this is my business, but this place treats their employees like shit. My mom works here and sometimes I've witnessed the struggles she goes through. She is a desk clerk, but however, management expects her to do different jobs that would take multiple people whenever she's working at night. Cook, set up breakfast, get beer for people, and so much more. All while taking care of a fuck load of guests at the front desk. Doing all of this is hard on her, sometimes i even helped her because I hate to see her being treated like a slave. How exactly is she expected to do all of this? I guess we'll never know. Not to mention, she tried getting me a job here as a cook. But apparently you need to be 21 to cook because just like she does all of the jobs, and due to the fact there's a bar, cooks are expected to as well. I'm unfortunately under that age. So that's a missed opportunity right there. If anyone that runs the place is reading this, please get more fucking staff and stop expecting individual employees to do everything else that should have its own employees! I wanted an alternative to staying in a casino when visiting Biloxi that wasn't a budget motel. There's not a lot in that demographic ― mostly the White House Hotel and this, the Hyatt Place. To be frank, the circumstances of 1) Chinese Bat Flu madness, and 2) Hurricane Sally gave the place a bit of a budget motel feel. The first factor meant all the nice furniture for their stylish lounge areas were hidden away, no one could sit and enjoy the lobby bar, and guests couldn't enjoy the free breakfast downstairs. It all had a half-finished war zone feel to it. And the second factor meant the place was packed to the rafters with families from Alabama whose power had been knocked out, so what should've been a quiet business-oriented hotel was more like an overcrowded Super 8 outside Dollywood. The rooms themselves were nice: My parents had one king room, and I had another. We all found the beds very comfortable (my mom especially liked their pillows), and the air conditioning works really well ― good for the balmy Gulf Coast. While it was a shame no one could drink at the bar, and the cups used for draft beer pours aren't quite twelve ounces, they only charge $2 for each draft beer, so... hooray for that! And parking is free, too. The staff was all really nice, and I'd definitely consider staying at the Hyatt Place ― but definitely under different circumstances. read more

Great hotel! From check-in to check-out, everything was perfect. The location is great, right across street from beach and close to casinos and the coliseum/convention center. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by the front desk. The entire hotel appears to be new and has a very nice heated pool and hot tub setup. Our room was spacious, clean and modern with a great view of the water. The hotel was quiet, which is a huge selling point for me. I didn't hear any slamming doors, voices in hallway, etc. and we were right by the elevator. We ate breakfast both mornings of our stay and it was nice to see variety from one day to the next. I love the Mississippi coast and I believe this will now be our go-to hotel for our future stays. read more

I don't usually say this about Hyatt locations but this place has made me questioned the Hyatt as a choice of residence. It was updated and pretty clean, although few instances of roaches throughout the hotel. But what really made me disappointed was the HORRIBLE staff at this place. I was treated like dirt here... I was staying here for my service. The African American female with braided hair was the worst. She came out yelling at me when I waited 20 minutes just to get a drink at the bar. Begrudgingly serving me my drink and speaking to me as I was a child. Then my significant other was here and she was mocking her gesture as a child... the look on her eye as we eyed us as we walk out of the hotel was unsettling. If you want terrible service and accommodations then this is your place of choice in Biloxi. I'm am terribly disappointed as my stays in the Hyatt have been exceptional. Been here a few days for business travel. Way better than the DoubleTree Hilton down the street. You'll know if you read my review. Friendly staff , nice clean and spacious rooms. Had a nice view of the beach and complimentary breakfast ! Has a nice fitness center, pool and hot tub. Although it's been a little chilly the last few days so didn't get to use it. Will definitely be coming back for next trip. Only downside is it's a little farther from my new favorite hangout Fly Llama brewery. We were impressed with how clean and spacious our room was as well as how pleasant and helpful the staff were. Staff was courteous and the room we had was large. That's the good part. The carpet through out the hotel is frayed and dirty. The pool was green and there was occasionally someone looking at it but it was out of the service the entire week. They did have an agreement to use the Hampton pool next door, but it was crowded. Don't get in a hurry with the front desk as there was only one person there ever and they were also the bar tender. TV remote was very finicky and difficult to use, and very slow. Cleaning services ran very late in the day if at all and we had to ask for towels several times. The AC ran constantly and was very noisy. The hot breakfast was not great and closed pretty early. Other than the breakfast bar, there was no place to eat in the hotel. There is no room service. This is our second stay here and will be our last. The previous stay was better, but this one was horrible. There are much better places to stay in Biloxi for the price, and this does not deserve the Hyatt label. read more

The black lady with long braids who works the reception and bar was the rudest and most disrespectful person I have ever met. She had such a bad attitude and no manners. I went down to the bar to get a drink and I was a little shy waiting for her since i noticed it was busy she comes over finally and imitates me being shy and my body movements and laughs at me and imitates me again like trying to be mean and disrespectful. Then she goes on saying what you want no hi no how are you nothing and im in schock about how she just treated me so I was quiet for a second then she shrugs and rolls her eyes. I'm here again for another stay and it's as perfect as it was the last time!! All the staff from the front desk to the cleaning crew are warm and professional! Nakita and Shakira are my favorites! They both go out of their way to make sure my stay is comfortable. This stay I brought my dog and this hotel is very dog friendly! Cookie was pretty good, but it was $3, haha. *For some reason, we got 2 free water bottles as we checked in. Not sure if that's a part of the AAA package or a normal thing. Literally spent only 1 night here for a race... during December, so we didn't really explore much. The room we had: - Solid bed. Slept like a baby. - Great mini relax area next to bed/windows. - Fairly big bathroom area. - Big TV. When I asked for a late check out, they apparently don't really do them on Sundays. I had to really plead my case. They were aware of the Half Marathon that was going on, yet their management didn't care. But when I told them I was a slow runner (which I am) and just needed an extra 30-45 mins, the manager approved it for me quickly. Hyatt Place - If you know there's a massive event like a race, you should approve every racer's late check out request. I got lucky. The race route was LITERALLY right in front of you. I do understand Hotel protocol, but an extra hour wouldn't be so bad. Another weird thing: I never got a wake up call. I requested it the night before. I use several alarms to wake up for race morning (because you never know when sh*t hits the fan during a race morning) -- which includes the hotel wake up call. I'd fix that ASAP. If you're looking for a family friendly hotel with large rooms and an amazing view of the Gulf stay here. It's literally across the street from the ocean (don't look for waves here...there was virtually zero surf), has a small, but adequate pool & hot tub. The beds were perfect - room size amazing - staff very attentive! We are all hoping to come back in the summer when we can enjoy the water.
