I would definitely refer to myself as a hotel snob. The Hyatt is most often our go to place for visiting larger cities. Hyatts are always beautiful, large and the staff behind the front desk is usually very friendly. Our room was beautiful great view. We also liked that despite this hotel being large, we did not hear any odd noises at night that is always a plus one staying in a hotel really liked the open air walkway and the very cool see-through elevator. This hotel isn't walking distance to all the big things in Indianapolis. If you're coming for a visit definitely recommend staying as you were able to walk anywhere. read more

This was a fun overnight in downtown which gave us a chance to pretend to be tourists! I loved the ease of getting into our room, online check in was available. We still had to go to the 2nd floor for keys, but it meant we were able to request an early check in time and then see if it was doable. The rooms are clean and spacious considering, and felt homey and welcoming. It had a coffee/tea set up which was nice. We were able to get easily to several fun restaurants and even found a concert at one pub which made for a fun night. The only challenge was that many of the hotel rooms (ours included) faced a Main Street. Perhaps Indy folks all believe they are part of the racing world as throughout the night we could hear motorbikes, cars and who knows what else racing along the road. We had a sound machine but it didn't help much. For those light sleepers I would for sure request a higher level and non street facing room. Not anything the hotel can do about it but just a note. It was an amazing breakfast and there was such choice it felt like a full sit down restaurant! We would for sure stay again and will be using Hyatt hotels for all our future stays. It is the quality and care that we anticipate and appreciate when traveling. read more

Great hotel, great service, great location! My boyfriend surprised me for a trip out of town and booked this hotel. It is right across the street from Gainbridge Fieldhouse which was perfect because we were going to a Fever game that night. We decided to park in a parking garage about a block away from the hotel to save some extra dollars. The hotel does offer overnight parking but it is pretty pricey. Our room was clean, bathroom was spacious, and the bed was so comfortable! The breakfast had a variety of foods: eggs, toast, sausage, yogurt station, potatoes, fruits, juices, coffee, dairy creamer, and dairy-free creamer. It was really busy on Saturday morning but the staff made sure everything was fresh and full. Sunday was more relaxed. The gym was clean, spacious, and had a variety of equipment too. We enjoyed the views of downtown Indy while exercising. This was a great choice and would definitely stay here again. read more

I had a pretty good stay here during my last work trip to Indy. There were a few conventions going on and it was a last minute trip, so the price tag was like 5x what a room would normally cost, but I did enjoy my time here. I spent an evening on the second floor patio and it was lovely. The weather was amazing, my server was attentive, the wifi worked well, and the light music made for the perfect vibe to get some work done in the evening. I also ordered food one night from the hotel restaurant Pivot. I had a drink at the bar while I waited and ended up taking it to my room to chow down. It was pretty good. As for my room, it was spacious and comfy. It did face the FieldHouse and got a little loud in the evening, but it wasn't disruptive. I also love that I was able to cast my Netflix to the TV. The location was perfect and the valet was extremely convenient. Lastly, the free breakfast in the morning wasn't too bad. I went down a couple times to grab coffee and orange juice. It all looked good. I would stay here again as long as it's not $500 a night. read more

This is such a great hotel location! I went here to stay for the eclipse in April 2024 and I had a very nice stay. First of all, it is the perfect location. It is in the downtown area, so you are around plenty of things to do, including restaurants to eat at. It was right across the street from where the Pacers arena is for basketball, which was great for me, because I was going to a game. All I had to do was walk right across the street and not worry about ubering or looking for a park. The parking was great. You had the option to valet or use their parking lot, which was a flat nightly fee, but came with in and out privileges. The breakfast was good! Oatmeal, breakfast, potatoes, eggs, sausage, French, toast, fruits, juices, breads, and bagels, and a few other options. The gym that they have is also one of the better gyms that I've seen in a hotel, and all of the equipment worked, which is also rare for a lot of hotels! Lol The hotel did a special event for the eclipse, which I thought was super awesome of them. I also love that there is a full bar. This is definitely going to be my first choice when it comes to staying in the area. read more

Chef Angel and staff are amazing. If you go you MUST try her eggs! Best eggs I have ever had at a hotel!!! She takes great care and personal attention with presentation of her food often checking on the dishes and guests. She is not only a great cook but a great person - friendly and personable. She even made me a special dish of biscuits and gravy- heaven on a plate!! Staff in dining room was just as great Jody, Serena and Eric. Worked hard whether there were 4 or 40 people eating. A thank you to executive chef Mike as well who did our lunch on Wednesday. Again, food outstanding. I apologize I did not catch the name of the staff member helping to clear our plates and ensure the buffet was stocked but again, customer service like none I have experienced lately. Finally a shout out to everyone at the checkin desk. Again I am sorry I did not get everyone's names but every time I came down for breakfast at 6:00 I was greeted with a hello and clearly acknowledged. No one was on their cellphone and there was clear eye contact. These things matter. Thank you Tim to your staff. I have stayed in a few different hotels during my visits to Indy in the past and this has far exceeded my expectations. I will be back the next time I am traveling. read more

We were at this location for 3 nights I believe. We traveled with a 2-year-old kid. + The hotel was in good shape and clean + Breakfast was pretty good + Liked that you needed to have a room key before you could go up to the floors using the elevator + Location was right in the heart of downtown + I am glad the parking garage area had the entrance door closed when no car approached it. With some of the homeless there, I am glad they have that. - The specific location, a few nights we were there, there were loud motorcycles and cars. Looked like they were drag racing but I could be wrong. From the 5th floor, we could hear them late in the night. - Parking and the main reason I am deducting two points. The fee structure doesn't make sense at all. $40 for 24 days but if you happen to park for a few hours it's $23 or something like that. I am not mad that I had to pay for parking though I wish I didn't need to. There was never a time when I would exit and not have any issues. Usually, I had to call and sometimes nobody would pick up. On my last day when we were checking out, I went to the first floor and then 2nd floor again to pay. After trying many times, the card went through and one of the hotel employees just walked out and handed me a card saying I don't have to pay. I explained that I had paid $40 already but she said someone would refund me. They never refunded. Don't give customers the expectation that you will do something when you plan on not doing anything at all. So, the issue I faced with parking was when I was paying in all kiosks. Two on different floors (1st and 2nd) and one at the gate. Even when I managed to pay, the machine at the gate wouldn't take my stamped parking card. So, I would simply not come back to this hotel. Simple as that. Next time we visit Indy, we will just go to another hotel. read more

I'm generally loyal to Hyatt and I picked this particular Hyatt because of the convenient downtown location near the Amtrak station. I arrived earlier than the normal check-in time but was still able to check-in. It's a large modern hotel and I was very happy with my room. My phone worked as a key, the TV had Chromecast, which allows me to watch all of my streaming services, and the bed was comfy. The free breakfast spread was as good as it gets at a Hyatt. Eggs perfectly scrambled (cheese and bacon bits optional), fluffy waffles, tasty home fries, along with various breads, bagels and danishes. There are also fruits and plenty of water and juices. It was such a large spread that I know I'm forgetting something. Staff was very friendly, always ready to help with any issue and you can even text any question right from your room and get a quick response. I only stayed one night, but this 5 star Hyatt had me wishing I was staying longer. read more

I always love a Hyatt! But this one is definitely top on the list. Absolutely great location to tons of bars and restaurants and. the mall. And literally right across the street from fieldhouse Stadium! Service is top notch. And they even have virtual check-in and virtual keys so if you don't really want to interact with anyone you don't really have to. I also enjoy the hot breakfast every morning. Pretty good Varieties of continental and a little heavy with pancakes and eggs. Just wish there was bacon! Parking is very convenient although it's $35 for south parking per day or $45 for valet parking. But you can do in and out privileges with both, which I appreciate because there's so much to do. read more

Power connection on the night stand is as lose as a 90 year old **ore. Nice bed. Why have hotel desk chairs become grandma's formal guest room chairs? None the less you can move the lower desk out. There was a working ice machine on the 14th floor. And there was a legible taped sign next to the 14th floor ice machine to tell other levels you can find ice and beverages. TV swivels so you can watch from one of grandma's chairs. The lobby was very nice. But you don't relax and sleep in the lobby. Toilet flushed. Hot and cold water from the working shower head. The ac was excellent. It's definitely worth the stay. **** is a very fine rating. read more

We stayed here during a road trip in May 2023. We had a very good experience. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. We all had a good night sleep, and had no complaints. One thing of note: the room was small for all of us, but we made due. It was fine in size until we used the pull-out couch. But, the kids loved it and thought it was an adventure. It also appeared to be well-secured, so we weren't worried about that at all. It's a good location to downtown. But if you truly want to be close to more of the downtown restaurants, you might consider Hyatt's other downtown location. read more

The hotel staff was great, the dinner food in the restaurant was fair, the breakfast was average. We stayed in Room 307, which is a "bit" noisy (see the pictures of the outdoor AC units that you can hear all night) - be sure to ask for a room somewhere else. The hotel is very convenient if you are going to Gainbridge Fieldhouse or Lucas Oil Stadium. You should valet park as it is only $5 more expensive than self-parking and you avoid the walk. I like the Hyatt Places, because they have modern furniture that is still practical, a color palette that's not too light or too dark, A Style that isn't too Star Trek, and the bed is oh so comfortable. They also rock with an excellent hot breakfast. read more

I can't even leave 1/2 a star for the experience of valet service. After 45 minutes attempting to find the valet rep with my older family, the manager, and a call to the gm from the manager, i was absolutely shocked when she let me have it when I let her know we weren't paying for that kind of inconvenience. Here's a tip, learn customer service. Don't show up 45 minutes later after you are nowhere to be found with just a "hey. I can't believe what happened. Legitimately in shock for the attendant to be so dismissive, and quite frankly combative, after that experience due to their inability to do the bare minimum of their job. read more

Good service and a fabulous breakfast buffet. But the loud setting downtown means not much sleep until 2-3 am. We could hear the boom cars, Indy style mufflers and drunks down on the street. The hotel added to it by hosting a party on its terrace (complete with loudspeakers) until midnight one night. Would suggest getting a room facing away from the street. Room had a kitchen with great fridge, but no skillet if you want to actually cook something! It's a handy location downtown otherwise. read more

Just Okay. Rather old, scuffed furniture. My room had a dirty coffee pot with old coffee and old filter in basket. My cc was held for incidentals, but to order room service you had to scan a QR code and then pay separately on a cc., like Door Dash. You cannot charge your meal to your room number at the attached restaurant. Kinda weird. I had to call desk x3 to get coffee packs and cups to have for coffee or to beush teeth. The breakfast area is congested and tiny, and you are rushed out precisely at 9am. This morning, no eggs, no creamer, no plates...it was 0830. I heard a guest complain and a woman told the guest that it was almost 0900. My coworker said the staff did resupply the eggs. A Hyatt, I guess I expected a bit more. Maybe a lil bit fancier. I travel for business and most of the Hampton Inns or Holiday Inns are nicer. 2 of the four elevators did not work or were not running. No housekeeping unless you are at night 3. Thats surprising for a Hyatt. I was in town for a medical conference. Its quite a walk to get to the convention center and not in the best area, if you are walking alone. I am just a bit meh with this hotel. Just average. Staff at front desk are friendly. read more

I found it interesting after filing a complaint with Hyatt Place of Downtown Indianapolis and with Corporate that my room keys had been removed from being able to exit or re-enter the parking structure. Christopher the manager became cold and very angry, refusing to speak with my family or look at us this afternoon, and Tanesha, who was previously very friendly and kind, lectured me as though I was a child for asking for help with the bed being of poor quality and not being given the correct room. She lied that the hotel was overbooked and I should consider myself lucky for getting a room at all. The truth was they didn't want to do what was told to them and promised to my family, and our actual room was vacant. We now have our room back and the ability to enter and leave the parking structure, thanks to Katie and Crystal. read more
