I've stayed at many Hyatt hotels before, I am even a world of Hyatt member, but this hotel location has proved to me that they do not care about their customers at all. Me and my boyfriends family were staying at this hotel for an event at the rose bowl. Said event was something we were all looking forward to for a very long time, that being said, of course we were going to buy merchandise! After arriving back to the hotel I sat in the lobby and set my merchandise down (it costed me $140!!) and because I was so tired I forgot it there when I headed up to my room. After realizing I had forgotten it, I went into a panic and rushed to the lobby to look for it and it was gone! I asked the receptionist if he had seen anyone take anything and he said no. I asked if there was any way to look at the cameras and he said not until the next morning. As disappointed as I was I understood because there's only so much one person can do. BUT here is where things took a turn. A security guard yelled at me and said "you need to put your mask on" as I was walking back to the elevator. I turned and replied that I came down in a rush and that I was headed to my room. He continued to yell at me and told me it was policy. I told him again that I was heading back up to my room and there was no need for him to talk to me that way. He then threatened to kick me out of my room and call the cops??? Meanwhile the receptionists stood and did nothing. I just ignored the security guard and went back up to my room because I was not looking to fight. Hotel management really needs to hire better staff and not people who will go on these weird power trips. I will definitely not stay at this location again. read more

We have loved this hotel in the past, but there could be improvements. The PROS- the staff is very nice and accommodating, bfast is decent, location is great, hotel is stylish, pool and firepit are nice too. CONS- I paid extra for a room with a bathtub and when we finally checked in it was the wrong room (no tub), so we changed but had to wait for an hour past check in to get the correct room. Then when we moved to the new room, I proceeded to try to take a bath and the lever to plug the drain was stuck and wouldn't move. So no bath for me. I called downstairs and was told that there was no engineer available to fix it. Also I'm very sensitive to smells and both rooms smelled like artificial air freshener (bubble gum??) when we entered them. I had to open the balcony door for two hours to air it out. But by far the absolute WORST thing about this hotel is the "green/eco" air conditioner settings. I understand why they turn off with no movement so that they aren't left on when you leave your room. But there absolutely needs to be an override button so that when you aren't moving because you are asleep, you can still have the A/C on. It was hot and stuffy and we had terrible sleep because of the A/C remaining off. We like to sleep much colder and so the room remained at 70 degrees all night. Also even if you are in the room and moving around, the most you can lower the temp to is 67 degrees...not at all cold enough if you are a warmer person. This needs to be fixed. read more

This location is the best Hyatt Place I've stayed at, and I've been to several around the country. The breakfast is better than at a normal Hyatt Place, with english bacon, scrambled eggs, and I think the delicious oatmeal was the steel cut kind. Been played by being told free parking, but end up with still getting charged! Due to a long wait when checking in, I was told the three night parking would be free and on him by a gentlemen at the front desk. I appreciated to him. But when checking out, the lady at the front desk still charged me the parking fee for three night. I told her the fact, but she said not getting any note from the gentlemen. She even told me she couldn't help me at all on the problem at that moment. I had no choose but giving a call to Chase to complain the problem. (I redeemed three nights by Chase credits.) After Chase's help, the lady could refund only one night parking fee because she out of sudden found the note saying only one night for free. Actually, I doubted on the real of the note. But I haven't gotten an evidence, I didn't have a chance to have a look at the "note" in person. Finally, I ended up with being charged two nights parking fee. The parking fee was not a big deal. I just felt being played! I am feeling awful and never choose Hytta anymore! read more

My kids and I stayed here while attending Anime Pasadena. Location is excellent, right across the street from the convention center and attached to a shopping center with several restaurants. Also walkable to other more glitzy shops and restaurants on Colorado Blvd. Free hot breakfast always a bonus, enough choices to fuel the kids for the day and they kept it replenished even during a super busy convention and football weekend. Was especially impressed by the kindness and grace of the front desk staff who put up with a lot of impatient and foolish behavior by some guests. Parking in underground structure is $24/day which is par for the course in LA area. Room was spacious, they brought us extra blankets practically immediately upon request. Very clean property, spacious pretty lobby, free Wi-Fi, low key...Will definitely stay again. read more

Paseo Colorado is next to this place which is nice if you are not from this area and would like to explore the surrounding areas without having to drive. This place is a joke for being a Hyatt. Motel 6 has better service then this hotel. Don't get me wrong, this Hyatt looks like a Hyatt, but management and the trained staff here wouldn't even qualify for a Motel 6. I'm going to stop insulting Motel 6 by comparing them to this "Hyatt." I have never seen multiple Hotel Guests at any Hyatt having to bend down to their knees to dig through staff supply cupboards, to get things like a cup for their tea or coffee till now. If you plan to stay here, do you not expect to sleep. They are horrible at noise control with other guests and will not move you to anther room. Apparently, loud guests at 3am is acceptable. Also be aware they are building anther building right next to the hotel. The hotel takes up half a block, the building is literally being built on the other half of the block. The door facing the mall, I try to use my room key as instructed to come in this morning. It would not let me in, none of the hotel staff would let me in despite the fact I had my room key in my hand and it was raining. A Hotel guest put down her breakfast, and came across the hotel lobby to let me in. I am so grateful to her that I didn't have to walk in the cold rain, around the block to get to the other side to the main lobby. I really suggest against taking early morning walks around the mall before breakfast. I noticed the door was unlocked later on. The breakfast area is the lackluster for a Hyatt. There Is nobody maintaining it and refilling food or utensils and cups to contain the food and drinks. If you get a hot drink cup, double up on the cups because the sleeve is the wrong size for the cup. It's way too big. Be careful because it can slip in your hand. When you drive in to the front of building lobby door, it's a loop in front of the lobby. Be careful because the loop is very small. There is a parking spot for people to park their car on the side of the lobby but there is nobody to enforce it. So if someone parked their car in the loop and leaves their car, you can be stuck. Backing out of a small loop drive way is semi challenging. There is no valet or anybody none of the times when I was there, to helping you at or near the door. The closest person is the Front desk person who is behind the counter in the lobby. The Signage is poor. You have to keep your eyes open to see a very small driveway with no signs to get to the hotel. It is after the last opening to the mall's parking Underground garage. Green Street is a one-way street. Only after you drive past the driveway, you will see the sign for the hotel which is parallel to the road. It is a very long mall and living complex to circle around to get back to the hotel if you miss it. Parking is $25. If someone is visiting you, just tell them to park at the mall. It's much cheaper, and if they buy something at a shop, they can get their ticket validated. read more

I've stayed in other hyatt place locations before, but the hospitality at this location was great. We had an issue checking in because of our third party reservation but the staff were very communicative and polite, especially Chris at the front desk who helped resolve the problem. The customer service here made us enjoy our 1 night stay even more than expected, rooms were very clean and spacious with a walking distance of about 3 minutes to the convention center (which was the purpose of our stay). read more

The breakfast was the best that I've had from a hotel / motel in quite a few years. I frequent several establishments. Fresh scrambled eggs with chives and the option of putting fresh farmer John bacon bits on top real FJ sausage links twice cooked potato's wow. All the fresh fruit and bagels or pastries that you could possibly need. The coffee juice and milk including goat milk were great. Oh I checked the pool it was heated to about 82 degrees. This hotel is clean. The rooms are well kept and the staff is very friendly. Overall I have had no issues whatsoever and any problems present were minor. I am amazed at the standards they keep here to make sure everything is distanced, guests are kept safe, and cleanliness is ensured. There are hand sanitizers throughout the property and they provide opt-in house keeping. The rooms are spacious and relaxing. The lighting inside the rooms are nice and the views outside the windows are good as well. I genuinely was shocked at how much space you get inside of the room and all of the amenities it comes with. The sofa they provide in the rooms can actually fold out into a sofa bed as well! The fridge they provide seems like your standard hotel mini fridge but it can surprisingly get extremely cold. The water I stored in there started to form ice! The bathroom is kept immaculate. There was no mold, no mildew, no gross stains, and no foul smells. They also provide plenty of tissue, toilet paper, towels, and soaps for your convenience. You can ask the hotel staff to get you a tooth brush and tooth paste if need be. Here is a shortlist of some small issues: -The shower door in my room was loose. The bottom guard had come off completely and this makes the shower doors very wonky to use. This was the only issue in my room and it wasn't that big of a deal. -Parking fees. $24 is not the most expensive I've had to pay for hotel parking but it certainly isn't the cheapest either. Granted, you get in and out service, but you still are shelling out an additional $24 a night which kind of sucks. Parking can be a bit of a hassle too and when the parking lot is full, you have to spill over to overflow parking outside of the private hotel lot in the Paseo. -The elevators are a bit strange. It was kind of a nuisance to have to hop between two different elevators to get to the parking level. -WiFi here is not good. If you connect wirelessly you are in for some SERIOUS lag. However, the wired connection they provide in the rooms is perfect. Definitely use a wired connection for your laptop if you have work to do. __________________________________________ The bottom line is, Hyatt Place is always a good place to stay. Their standards across the board are very nice and their staff always seems to take things seriously. This hotel is centrally located in the heart of Old Town and you can go pretty much all the hot spots in LA from here as long as you can make the drive. Stayed here on my mini get away from NorCal. Good location to stay when in LA area. Walking distance from Old Town Pasadena, full of restaurants and shopping. Friendly staff here. Nice and clean lobby and restroom. Room was clean and spacious. Had separate seating area from bed which I appreciated. Free hot breakfast in the morning included with my stay. A variety of hot and cold breakfast items to choose from. Convenient and one less meal for me to think about. Parking available beneath the hotel for a fee. Overall, I usually enjoy my stays at Hyatts and this one is also on the list of good ones. Drive is a bit far from the beaches, but if you're here for walkable distance to food and shopping, then this place is it. Hotel furnishings were new, and the room was pristine. Only objection I had was the room had a scent similar to car air fresheners you smell in some hotels not as nice and clean as this one. Bed was comfortable, linens were fresh. Hotel lobby and seating area were modernly appointed and clean. Staff was friendly . Pool area and outside lounge were very nice. Breakfast buffet was good, enough variety for most - during my stay including waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon bits, bagels, yogurt, fresh blueberries and strawberries, dry cereal, etc. , juices and coffee... Breakfast area was very clean. There was parking under the hotel albeit for an additional $25, including in/out privileges. This is great location for dining and strolling around. There are a lot of chain restaurants immediately around the Hyatt. We had to walk a bit further to find local mom and pop restaurants. The staff is very friendly. Underground parking seems limited and is 24 a day as of this writing. My kids and I here for a conference at WB studios with ATT. Less than 20 minutes to studio. Rooms are clean and well laid out. Heated pool on 2md floor. Great value per night. read more

Although, I have stayed in the Long beach resort at least a dozen times for a convention and the staff was attentive and kind. Great hotel in a central location to everything Pasadena has to offer. Upon check in Mathew was more than accommodating, even offering a lower floor near the stair well since we had our dog with us. The room was a good size for the price and the bed was very comfortable. The continental breakfast had plenty of options, and was fully stocked every morning. Everyone is super nice, there's a great breakfast (individual COVID safe options) and great location. You can walk to old town Pasadena and local shops/ restaurants. This the newest and most clean hotel I've found in Pasadena. While it's not fun to wake up to construction noise at 7am, it's not the hotel's fault. As a woman who stayed here for 12 nights, I feel the safest in this hotel. You must have a room key to access the elevator from the garage and to get to the rooms upstairs. The last time I stayed in Pasadena, I stayed at a very nice hotel that allowed elevator access to all the floors and there was a shirtless gentlemen roaming the hallways when I left my room at 11am. When I returned to my room arrt 11pm, he was still roaming the hallways. He didn't appear to be a guest so I called the front desk letting them know to investigate. I didn't feel totally safe in my room that night and never stayed there again. read more

Stayed here during Christmas break for 3 nights and had a good time. We were lucky to get a free upgrade to a suite, even though it was an ADA accessible suite, the spacious 980 sq ft size of the suite made up for it. The hotel is pretty new and located in the center of a shopping district. We stayed here during COVID and felt the hotel took all the proper protocols in place. During our stay they ran out of slippers so I would recommend bringing own slippers. The hotel is very pet friendly and we saw a lot of pets but they don't have a lot of grass/turf around the hotel for pets to do their business. The complimentary breakfast is similar to the standard Hyatt free breakfast and can get crowded. The gym is nice with new equipment and I appreciated the fact that some machines were closed off in order to observe the 6 ft covid protocol. read more

Stayed here while in Pasadena for the Eat, Drink, Vegan festive and I must say that I was impressed with this hotel. Everything was modern, new, and pristine. We originally were booked a double queen room, but when we got to the hotel, we were told that the queen rooms were completely booked out and that we could upgrade to a King Suite. I'm not sure if my friend got charged the difference or not, she never said, but I am hoping she didn't get charged the difference since they accepted our reservation for a double queen, but booked out before we got there. I don't understand how that happened. Anyways, the breakfast was decent and much appreciated. This Hyatt is located right downtown Pasadena and it's walking distance to all the restaurants and attractions. Parking is a bit of an issue depending on the time you arrive but at the time they had an agreement with the parking structure right across the street for overflow so it was still very close. This Hyatt opened only late 2018 and hence everything felt pristine and oh so new at the time of the visit (this is a long overdue review). The rooms are comfortable, clean and nicely decorated - pretty much the same setting you'd find at any Hyatt Place. I love that they have a nice seating area in the room where you can hang out and enjoy your stay. It's worth mentioning that becoming a Hyatt Member (free of charge) gives you free access to their breakfast that is pretty nice and freshly cooked. Unless you want to try another place in town for breakfast, definitely check out the option they have here first. read more

After mentioning that I had a very very early check out time tomorrow morning, I was told that if I had to leave before breakfast service started, there would be Starbucks coffee available. Shortly after arriving to my room, there was a knock on the door and I was handed a bag full of goodies with a note wishing me well - see photo. I'll keep it short. We heard a loud ticking sound in our room around 2 am. We didn't want to me moved to another room at that point because we were tired from a wedding. I tell the manager I would like a partial refund for the inconvenience of not being able to fall asleep right away. He tells me he can reimburse my parking. I say that's not good enough, and he says what is the partial refund amount I would like. I say 100 dollars (my total was 300 and change). And then he says I can offer you 30 dollars. That partial refund was fine. It's terrible they make guests ARGUE for what they should rightfully get. Funny how it was parking at first and then he could offer me 30 dollars. Wow, this hotel does not feel like a Hyatt Place! The lobby, breakfast area, and bar is simply gorgeous. I would totally consider hosting meetings here as the meeting space looked lovely. Helps that this hotel is brand new, but much nicer than the also new Hyatt Glendale. Huge gym and nice pool, too. Parking is pricey -$24, so maybe look for nearby lots. Location is excellent - walking distance to Colorado main strip, museum, Target (lol). The service is great. Only downside is that there's construction going on - we checked in with a baby and the noise hindered naps :/ Not the hotel's fault, but wish we were notified. read more

Got a group rate for my stay during a recent convention. Parking was a bit pricey ($24) but the underground garage had plenty of space - and was self-parking - which I like because I don't like waiting around for a valet. I had a room with a king-size bed and a sitting area with a couch - very nice! I noticed the bathroom has a sliding door- which most big hotels seem to be going with these days. Unlike other places I've stayed - the sliding bathroom door closed all the way properly. Good for privacy if you're sharing a room. I was by myself so it didn't matter but good to know! Hotel is very clean and modern. Only a short walk to the convention center and to nearby restaurants. I would definitely stay here again. read more

This is a NEW HOTEL... Opened on December 2018 Everything it's new and modern. The hotel is so clean and neat. The staff is very friendly. All bedrooms are spacious and they are very nice designed. The only thing is that because the underground parking structure belongs to the City of Pasadena, you have to pay a fee of $24.00 dlls per night with the privilege of going in and out all the times that you wish. So before you book your room be aware of that so you won't have any inconvenient with the front desk. read more

Our experience here was great. Its central location is close to the convention center and to all the restaurants in downtown Pasadena. The front desk personnel were always helpful and nice. Our room had a good size living are next to the bed with an L shaped couch. We had plenty of room to set up a sleeping pen and playpen for our baby. The breakfast was good, complete with your standard fare. They always had a meat, eggs, potato and revolving other hot dish. read more

I have stayed in Pasadena once before and I like it because it's right in LA without all the craziness that you get in other parts of greater LA. This hotel is spotless. The rooms are big and comfortable and the gym is HUGE and everything you need in my opinion. The breakfast is free for people in the Hyatt points club so that's a bonus. Eggs need salt. I would give this place one star, but the staff was very friendly and the room was clean. But when we tried to sleep, we could hear a lot of noises coming from neighboring rooms. Our temperature in the room was cold. We set the thermostat to 75, 77, then 80 throughout the night thinking it would eventually adjust to the desired temperature, but it still was cold by the time we woke up, I don't know if the ac/heating was broken or if it just spewing out cold air. The morning before check-out, we wanted to watch TV but it was broken. Since we were checking out soon, we decided not to call. Another thing was we were there for a wedding and we all booked our rooms months in advance. We wanted a private room for us, but we had to be open to keeping it available for other guests at the wedding to stay at our room because some have been waiting for over an hour and a half to get their rooms. My cousin reserved a suite, but they didn't have it available so they comped him a regular room. The comp is great but the suite was reserved well in advance. Our family had people come in from all over the world for this wedding and rooms weren't ready when they should have been and some didn't even get the room they reserved. Some people missed some of the wedding because of this. I would understand if there was no notice, but all these rooms were booked several months in advance. I would recommend that people stay away from this new Hyatt establishment until they have fixed these issues. I believe Hyatt is a reputable company and put our trust in this hotel, but this specific hotel didn't live up to the Hyatt name. read more

This is a lovely hotel ruined by the constant sound of construction and jackhammers. It's really too bad when a hotel opens before they're ready because it is such a disservice to their early customers. This hotel still has exterior work happening and there is a major building going up directly next door. Also, their is somewhat noisy. I could hear neighbors sliding coat hangers in their closet. Rencently stayed there for a wedding. The amenities were great! Pet friendly hotel. But our room was on the same side as a construction site that started working at 7am!! There was a room divider in the room that kept vibrating in the room as well. With that said ....I got no sleep and was running on empty my entire stay. I advise if you are planning to stay there to ask a lot of questions in regards to what side of the hotel your room will be on. read more
