La Casitas Del Arroyo My event took place in June 2022 for a wedding celebration. Let me first say, I'm a low key bride who owns my own private event planning biz a family ran company while working full time in finance (I'm not flexing just letting you know how detail oriented I am) I want to break down the good, the bad, and the ugly about this venue that other reviews didn't disclose. Please note: This is 100% a do it yourself venue. I note all these details in the descriptions below. After reading this review and you still really want to consider this venue but are now considering to look into a budget friendly event planner please message me for a free 15 minute consultation. The Ugly: The administration of this venue DOES NOT go hand in hand with what you pay for. I paid for two attendants day of, only 1 showed up. I was told the venue would put up signs about a private event, (Signs were not provided) The general public is not respectful of an event going on here. We encountered a group of young ladies picnicking on the lawn and had to find our attendant (Dan) to ask them to leave. Again the general public thought to take it upon themselves to use the bathrooms and walk through into a private event & parking lot. That infuriated my husband and I. Lesson: 1 attendant to patrol is not enough for this venue. The Bad: The inner agency departments do not have a workflow. Which means you will spend some time filling out paperwork on their timeline and the facilities admin will try their best to accommodate you but the inner department agencies (permit agency, supervisor committee, and facilities) all have their own life & other projects going on simultaneously. That means, things happen that will delay the timeline or timeliness of getting a response or to the next phase of the approval process. All your "outside" vendors must provide their own liability insurance. This is common practice for veteran vendors but your mom & pop vendors would not be allowed here unless they provide this and that fee can be too costly for them. In addition they'll have to make sure to provide this to you at the time you are submitting your application. (not day of) which is what I ran into with some mom & pop vendors. (Which lost our business). The facility, you will need to go to every open house held on the 1st Thursday of every month (2022) from 5:30-7:30pm. Take photos and disclose all cleanliness issues. I tagged graffiti, I tagged windows that were not clean and many other things. As your potential coordinator I will make a checklist and provide to you for a small fee depending on the services we discuss. The facility administration who you'll work directly with, try their best to catch these things, however, I'm extremely thorough. There are a lot of cannot do this or that to this location, ex. no cocktail bar in the patio of this house. (I know dreamy) but you cannot. The lot is small, can accommodate 32 cars. Your guests will 100% show up early knowing this, either so they can find a sport, beat traffic, or are making sure they have an ADA accommodated spot. I suggest spending money to have the facility the morning of your event. Don't skimp around this cost due to my reasons above. The Good: If you're still considering this venue like we did, you'll be provided 80 chairs and 10 round 60'' tables, and 6 6' rectangle tables. That's it. Again, spend that money for an earlier time encase these chairs need to be cleaned. The timing of when you hold your event is wonderful year round. I thank the might and powerful A/c that packs it, as long as you put this on with plenty of time for it to cool the room. (we didn't plan this part as best we could) There was maybe 30min-1hour that it took to get comfortable during setup. The magical whimsical setting as the sun sets into the evening is electric! You'll find moments of your entire evening as a married couple or having a special event to be the most fairy tale like event you can wish for. If you're a low key Disney movie romantic this will be like what Snow White, Cinderella and Jasmin must have felt when they watched the sun setting in the background among loved ones. I can't say enough of how perfect the actual event went and how our guests continue to share how much they really enjoyed themselves. I loved what La Casitas gave back to me absolutely pure whimsical magic. -Rodman Ent LA Sarah Rodriguez

Many times people would look into fancy restaurants or hotels to host their parties, baby showers, bridal shower and company meetings. However, these venues will cost you an arm and a leg. This location is situated in a serene area surrounded by beautiful oak trees, foilage, greenery with the view of the Pasadena hills and the historical Pasadena Arch bridge. This venue can probably fit 50 people comfortably with access to a full kitchen with Viking Appliances and clean restrooms. There are ample parking as well, but if people want they can park down the hill by the Rose bowl and do a 10 minute fun hike to the venue. The cost to book this place is 1/3 of the cost of most places:) This place reminds me of a cozy cabin where people congregate with privacy.

Came here to check out the "garden". It wasn't what I expected, but I thought it was a good area for walking around and exploring. There's a slight incline. I would highly recommend NOT wearing flip flops (I did) because your feet will get dirty from all the dirt that gets slightly kicked up while you are strolling around the grounds. Great view of the Pasadena bridge. There's a "house" where you can have a small get together like a reception. The kitchen is kind of small. Plenty of parking spaces and free street parking. Restrooms available.

Editing my review to include photos from baby shower. Family had another event here and it was fantastic as well. 10/10 recommend. :)

Attended a baby shower for close friends of mine at La Casita Del Arroyo. It seemed to be the perfect venue. It really looks like a little house in the shadows of the Old Town Pasadena bridge. Located along Arroyo Blvd, it is accessed from the 134 West direction by exiting San Rafael Ave. It really is a nice, small venue. There is plenty of parking in their lot or in the neighborhood streets surrounding the venue. The space is like a large living room area. So imagine a wide rectangular floor plan. It has a full kitchen and restrooms for men and women separately. There are outside areas surrounding the property. They are a cross between patios and walkways. There are stone walkways so ladies tread carefully... La Casita del Arroyo was the perfect place for my friends to have their baby shower.

Everyone loved it!!! I just had my babyshower here. It is scenic, private, affordable, clean, and convenient! Everyone who arrived immediately commented on how great the space was. It has a/c which saved us on a 98 degree day! Lots of photo ops outside with the bridge and beautiful scenery. I was a bit worried the interior would look dated, but was pleasantly surprised! It looked great! The tables and chairs are stored on site, so if there is a last minute need for more chairs they are readily available. The chairs are also super cute. The kitchen is very clean, big, and updated! Everything about it was perfect. So happy we had it there!! The representative from the city that stayed through the party was extremely polite and easy going. He even helped us bring things in and set up/ take down.

I'm going to give this venue a 4 star rating because ultimately, our wedding turned out absolutely beautiful and everyone raved about it. HOWEVER, I'm going to quote another review by DL because it sums up our experience perfectly with the reservation process: "First, the area and actual facility are really nice; that's what attracted me in the first place. However, the process for reserving and obtaining your permit when your event includes bartender, DJ and caterer is a nightmare. They provide a document that supposedly provides instructions on what is required for your particular event but it's not very clear and so you find things out by making mistakes and having to ask your vendor for more info. My vendors told me they had never been through so many requirements regarding liability insurance in their years of business. The reservation coordinator is not helpful at all in helping to decipher all the requirements. If you have the time and patience for lots of "red tape" and waiting for responses, and can get through all of it, you will eventually be able to enjoy the facility and beautiful surrounding area." I will say that the reservation process may be improved by now because during our experience there was a change of personnel handling the reservations. When Jeff took over, things seemed to start to get organized and he was very attentive, but dealing with Elaine before that was truly frustrating. I'm hoping this process has improved by now and you will not have these issues when trying to book this beautiful venue. We had 58 guests and chose a U-Shape table setup using all rectangular banquet tables. We had to rent additional tables because they did not have enough to accommodate. They have plenty of round tables, but not a lot of rectangular tables. They do not however provide tablecloths or dishes of any kind, so you will have to provide all that yourself. If anyone's interested, we have a complete table setting for 60 plus tablecloths, runners and napkins, plus additional items for sale (used only once) if you'd like to purchase it from us. Please contact if interested. Thanks to La Casita Del Arroyo for an absolutely enchanted wedding (minus the reservation process)!!!

Off to the side of venue there is an areA for great photos. This is us celebrating my daughters shower

We had about 80 people (including kids) at the event, and though it felt tight, at least the kids were able to hang outside to enjoy the bouncer. I rented the afternoon time frame, so we were given the venue from 2:30-9PM. The only thing that I found weird was that there was absolutely no attendant available at the end of the night. Overall, a decent place to rent a venue if you wanna DIY things yourself.

I've seen the videos/tiktoks/reels and unfortunately the actual establishment does not meet expectations. - the crushed velvet seating is old and weathered - the air needs to be purified or something because it smells like cats - the actual afternoon tea forces everyone to pick one or two communal teas to share. Which is a very strange thing to do as you normal get individual pots (I've had afternoon teas from five star hotels as well as internationally so I feel confident in that assessment) - the food was okay at best but the servers kept forgetting to include everyone's food so we had to resort to counting items to make sure we got what was ordered - desserts were mid at best - the reservation policy was a nightmare - the cost was so high per person (we did come during Mother's Day, and still I found the pricing to be ridiculous) - they had the audacity to charge the prices they did and serve tea bags. Would never have known if we hadn't opened the tea pot The only pro I can think of was the live harp player. Was pretty fun as she performed songs from The Weekend and Michael Jackson. You can come here with dogs, which is a big plus, but it's important to respect the property rules: pets must be on a leash, owners are responsible for cleanup, professional photography requires a permit, and activities like skateboarding, drinking alcohol, or organized sports events are not allowed. These rules help preserve the calm and cleanliness of the space. There is also a secondary school located on the property, which adds to the unique character of the place.
