Such a cute place and hidden gem in South Pasadena! We came for their high tea and it was so much fun! Delicious fruits, pastries, deviled eggs, sandwiches, madeleines, and scones! So much food that we had boxes of leftovers! We also got to take a tour of the rooms and they were so adorably decorated! Will definitely be recommending this place to out of town guests who visit!

We were less than impressed with this stay here. We were excited for a cute getaway weekend at a bed and breakfast, decided to skip the usual big chain Hilton and go for something local. It was 230.00 for a night, seemed like an okay deal. I called the innkeeper earlier in the week to ask for an early check in and she said they could do that. Then on the day of I asked and she said she'd have the maids clean one of the rooms earlier, but we were never told if we could check in early. When we got to check in, I had to call the innkeeper to find out how to find our keys. There is no staff on site or check in desk to answer questions, she told us to get a hanging key and registration paper. We went to the key holder, there wasn't a key. Had to ask the maid who went into the kitchen / office and rustled around in a bucket to find our key. No registration paper. The living room is nice, kind of quaint and old. There are beverages there. Including ice and water to refill anything. We didn't stay for the breakfast because we just wanted to get home and get an actual night's sleep. Walls are paper thin, you can hear everything and everyone next door. They didn't tell us there was rooftop construction so for the first 2-3 hours (on a Saturday evening), and they were banging on the roof after we checked in. We went to dinner with headaches due to the constant pounding of construction. Showers have shampoo conditioner and soap. Large fridge in room to keep leftovers. Bed was a little stiff but it wasn't bad, the room was warm with temp control. There is parking, enough spaces for all the rooms/guests and we felt safe. The room was loud until late evening due to next door guests. There was not really a personal experience, nobody to greet you, no clear instructions on much of anything. We felt a little awkward staying there and next time we'll just do a regular hotel.

Quaint, charming and peacefully quiet bed and breakfast. We stayed one night in a King Room (#7) and another in a queen room (#8). Both rooms were lovely, offering great views and very comfortable beds. However, the bathroom in the king room hadn't been thoroughly cleaned as there were long black hairs on the floor, stuck to the wall, and hanging from the towel bar behind the bathroom door. It may have been an oversight by housekeeping, but it was a bit off-putting. The inn Itself is on a beautiful location, set up a hill from the main road, with a wonderful porch perfect for enjoying a glass of wine in the afternoon. They offer complimentary red and white wine along with bagged snacks for guests between 5pm - 7pm, which was a nice touch. One thing to be aware of- if you book through a third party, such as Expedia or Capital One travel, breakfast is not included. We didn't realize this until we sat down and placed our order, at which point the owner came back and informed us we'd have to pay $36 for our two breakfasts. Not a deal breaker but we decided to eat elsewhere. Overall a lovely place and we'd stay here again, but we'll book directly.

Charming little bed n breakfast in the hills of South Pasadena. Good area with easy access to the metro for a day adventure. There's parking spaces at the Inn, and the rooms inside are cute, everything feels very homey. My favorite part was the amazing breakfast. We got served fresh fruit, waffles, pancakes, eggs and side of sausage. Plus complementary self served coffee and tea. I would definitely recommend to others wanting to visit LA but still want to feel comfortable and at home.

A beautiful family owned business in South Pasadena. The perfect place to stay if you want to be close to the city but not in the middle of all the chaos. Perks during my stay: easy parking, friendly staff, comfy beds, pretty sunset view, 10 minutes to DTLA, Moby (the cat), breakfast included. Stay over the weekend for waffles and pancakes!! Will stay here again the next time I'm in LA.

I really enjoyed my time at this bed & breakfast. It's a very cozy inn with clean rooms, yummy breakfast, and a pretty location. The inn keeper is very sweet and accommodating. Recommend for anyone looking for a chill and homey place to stay.

WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER. Picked up key in "lobby" when we arrived and it was marked "B1." We looked around for a map or guide, but nothing. So we assumed "B" mean the second level of the house and went up to find Room 1 open and assumed it was ours (we had arrived when we said we would, so figured they had opened the room for us). But the key didn't work so not the right room? Looked around the house and yelled into the office for help. Nothing, so we called the number for the inn and they said they would send someone to help us. Guy came and said our room is "in the back" (that is, NOT in the house as advertised). He walked us down the driveway past all kinds of crap (see photos--our view going from our car to the room each time) to another building where they had converted some portion of what might have been a basement into a tiny room (400 sq. ft.). The guy asked our plans for the next day "because we're going to making noise upstairs doing some work." Sure enough a racket ensued the next day, hammering, etc. Next to our "room" was another of these converted spaces and because there is absolutely no soundproofing, we were subjected to the loud and clear sounds of the couple next door having sex. Then, we got the whole post-coital talk as well. There was no dresser or closet in the room, just a coat rack. One bar of soap to move from sink to shower. No kleenex. No cups. Not enough parking spaces, especially if you come back late at night. An f'ing ripoff. Don't know how these owners sleep at night--except I know it's not in B1! If you go to this place, make sure you know which room you are getting before you pay.

This is long overdue for my stay at this bed & breakfast. Was in town a needed a place to stay near South Pasadena. I had no idea this place existed when I lived in the area, since it's well hidden at the top of a hill (which provides great privacy, but makes for a little scary drive at night). When I arrived, parking was very tight, but once inside, check-in was a breeze. This 1910 craftsman has plenty of character and o has a very pleasant stay. Very quiet and comfortable. I didn't get a chance to try their breakfast (my schedule was too busy). Wi-Fi worked well, given I had online meetings. You are walking distance from a coffee shop, breakfast spot, etc. and it's convenient to the 110 highway. Plus, there's peaceful seating areas outside. Enjoyed my weekend visit.

This was my first B&B and it far exceeded my expectations! The property is tucked away and surrounded by oak trees which are so relaxing to be around. The checkin process definitely made it feel seamless. I loved feeling like I was at home. I highly recommend this place. My husband and I stayed with our toddler in room #1.

We rented the entire space, which includes a studio, a little kitchen area, a really nice bathroom, and a separate room called "The Frieda Room."I highly recommend renting the entire package -- while we did our filming in the studio, actors hung out in the other rooms. The kitchen has a coffee pot and a refrigerator with water and ice. My absolutely favorite part was that there was A/C -- one unit in the studio that we turned on and off for sound reasons, and one for the rest of the space. WOW. It makes such a huge difference to have a happy, caffeinated cast and crew who don't have to feel guilty about chatting while filming is going on. Also, the B&B team catered lunch for us, and our entire production was incredibly impressed. The lunch went above and beyond expectation, with vegetarian and gluten-free options. Cannot stress how homey and comforting it was to eat a homemade meal in the middle of a really busy day. Five stars! I hope we will have the opportunity to use the space again in the future.

I followed directions on the reservation page and attempted to contact the owner before reserving a spot. They offer extended stay, and I had made all plans for the next 18 days around DRAGONFLY HILL. I sent two messages, the second with an afterthought I deemed pertinent. When I didn't hear back from the owners after three hours, I decided I would call and leave a message. The owner apparently picked up the phone in the middle of my message chew ME out for being RUDE. She snarled " WHO IS CALLING ME AT MIDNIGHT!?" It's a business, right? So allow the answering machine to do it's job. She then proceeded to sprew insults at me and finally barked " YOU'RE RUDE, YOU'VE BEEN IGNORING OUR MESSAGES AND IM NOT INTERESTED IN RENTING YOU". What a charming way to treat a prospective guest. I assume this is someone who run office or perhaps it is EMMA, IM not sure. Maybe she just had bad day, but be forewarned, she's definitely not a night person.

I pre-paid the room, which saved me a bit of money. The hotel was able to accommodate my need for a small fridge and a microwave (for Bella's food). Everything at the hotel is lovely. Pasadena is a true gem. I loved walking in the Oak Knoll neighborhood and enjoying the wonderful gardens on the Langham property. Talking with many passersby. Taking deep breaths... finally feeling like I could and DID relax. I visited the Tap Room and the Terrace twice because we enjoyed our experience so much. Something that is unique to this hotel -- is the overwhelming friendly disposition of every staff member we encountered. From Nathan (the guy that works on the ponds and pools), to Max (at the Terrace), to Abby & Francis (at the Tap Room)... to the front staff (forgot his name) that helped me (even locating me in the Tap Room when they needed me)... Honestly, I think all of the staff truly likes this place, and THIS shows with how they treat their guests. No ask is too much and even though I didn't need anything crazy... just making it reasonable to travel with a senior dog that gets homemade meatballs, it was really a nice feeling. I would do anything for my pup, but this trip was really for me. I think Bella was sad to leave... and that's always a good sign; if you've stayed too long you're listless and lethargic (even), but we left still smiling and beaming from our experience. I needed it. And, I got exactly what I wanted. Thanks a million, to the Langham! My one suggestion/critique (albeit small) -- is they need to make the amenity fees more clear upon booking the room. I thought all of that was taken care of (and I was surprised by the daily charges).

The first time was Valentine's Day shortly after I gave birth to our third child. My husband took me to The Terrace for a simple lunch because we live walking distance and thought it would be an easy, relaxing outing. Instead, we got terrible service and shockingly bad food for a supposedly luxury hotel. Completely forgettable experience. Then we tried the Teddy Bear Tea a few years later with our kids. Again, awful. The food and tea were both mediocre at best, and the setup felt chaotic and lazy compared to a proper afternoon tea service. Instead of the elegant presentation you'd expect, everyone was handed messy pre-plated trays dumped onto the table, and getting tea refills felt nearly impossible because staff were nowhere to be found. Last spring we decided to give the property another shot through a ResortPass cabana day. While the pool itself was peaceful, service was practically nonexistent. We spent more time trying to flag someone down for food and drinks than actually relaxing. For the prices they charge, pool service should not feel like a scavenger hunt. Most recently, I booked a one-night staycation to spend some one-on-one time with my oldest daughter. Same exact issues all over again. The pool was packed and there appeared to be ONE server working the entire area. The room itself felt extremely dated, and the bathroom fixtures were rusty and not particularly clean. My daughter actually told me the hotel "felt haunted," which honestly summed up the entire atmosphere perfectly. What's especially frustrating is how heavily they market themselves as family-friendly with all these supposed kid amenities and "special touches." They advertise things like a kids passport/scavenger hunt experience, so my husband specifically noted it in the reservation ahead of time and even called afterward to confirm. Despite all of that, nobody seemed to know what we were talking about and nothing was prepared. It perfectly captures the overall experience at this hotel: lots of luxury branding and promises, but completely disorganized execution once you actually arrive. At this point, it feels like this hotel survives entirely on its reputation and location, not on actual hospitality or quality. Beautiful grounds can only carry a property so far. For the price point, the service, food, upkeep, and overall experience are consistently unacceptable.

Dreams really do come true, and I had the vintage wedding of my dreams! Carrie, Sam, Jillian, and everyone at Christmas House are now like family to us. All of our guests absolutely loved our wedding and the house, and said what a unique and cool venue it is. A lot of them said it was the best wedding they have ever been to and are still talking about it a year later. I wanted something completely different and personal compared to a country club, golf club, or hotel since I have been to so many weddings. Since we were planning from out of state, we also liked that so many things were included such as cake, DJ, etc. I loved that we had the whole place to ourselves for the whole wedding weekend and got to do the pizza party and overnight stay, as well as breakfast which was some of my favorite food of the weekend! I particularly recommend the quiche! We had some of our bridal party stay with us and they loved it. It was nice to spend some personal time with them before we jetted off to our honeymoon. Also military wives and brides: they have a military discount! I also loved that the Christmas House team worked well with our wedding planner Nicole at Olivar events. Our photos and videos also came out so wonderfully. Orlando the photographer and videographer (sorry forgot his name) made me feel like a queen and really helped with their calm vibes since I was anxious before the ceremony. I even asked for more footage now a year later and they obliged. They are awesome! I had a lot of stress leading up to the wedding including my original dress being ruined one month before and family drama. The whole team were literal angels in helping me navigate all of this and I'm actually really glad I wore my second dress because it was a warm June wedding and my second dress was much lighter and went better with our vintage theme! I believe everything works out for a reason in according to God's plan. I have never felt so happy and so loved as on my wedding day by my husband, family and friends, and our friends at the Christmas House. I would truly give the Christmas House 4.8 stars and only change two things about the wedding: I will say the food was delicious, and our cake that was included from Cucamonga Cakery was pretty and delicious. However, the only negative feedback we had from guests was that the plates of food were a little small. This may be a Spaggi's (their exclusive caterer for our sit down package) issue, and I would recommend it be closer to the tasting size. For myself, I would have slowed down getting ready and taken some more amazing photos around the bridal suite, the house's stained glass windows, and stairs, and I may still go back and do it as Carrie suggested! However, I am giving myself some grace as the wedding morning was very busy. Thank you, Christmas House for making me feel the most beautiful I have ever felt, and for celebrating our love with us on our very special day. It was a dream come true, and we will be back to visit soon! Love, Ty and Dorothy

The kids loved the coloring station, kissing booth, and of course meeting Santa, while the carolers singing Christmas music made the entire estate feel magical. The property itself is absolutely beautiful and provided the perfect backdrop for the holiday spirit. This event truly made Christmas feel special--such incredible attention to detail throughout!

I would absolutely recommend staying here, cozy and quaint within walking distance to the village, our room was called Love Letter and had a gorgeous view of the lake, total of 9 rooms with ample parking gives you a feeling of staying at home rather than a hotel or Inn. Gail the manager, who has been there for only three months, was very nice and friendly and accepted us like family, they have their lobby filled with all sorts of snacks, coffee, tea, assorted fruits, fresh and delicious apples from the trees, chips, cereal and more, all open to the guests 24/7, she had even made homemade acorns with chocolate kiss on top, were delicious, all in all a great getaway, for sure a gem to be discovered.

The whole experience was great. Booking was super easy, pricing for the area was quite reasonable and then the actual space was super cute and fun. We stayed in the "Love Letter" room which had a fantastic view of the lake. The style was, as noted by previous reviewers, Victorian and beautifully done. We were greeted by Chris and given a tour of the spaces available to us which included a kitchenette stocked with snacks and goodies (midnight cereal, YES!), a wide selection of DVDs and board games. The room had a little fireplace, lounge room, large bathroom (no bathtub) and a super cozy bed. The ONLY thing that was less than perfect as that the blanket was a tiny stuffy smelling. We very much enjoyed this B&B. Be sure to check out the Belgian Waffle and the Village just across the way.
