Check in and out was fast and easy. Hotel room was clean and tidy. But they didn't have any disposable cups or body lotion. Beds were firm and clean and we had a great night's sleep. Noise from our next door visitors did wake us in the morning, and this isn't the most sound proofed building. But pretty much expected as it was true in most other locations as well. Shower was tub-less, and spotless. But during the shower, the water dripped right on top of the metal basin at the foot of the shower where water drained. This is totally fine, except that it made such loud water dripping sounds during my shower that I was annoyed. I like playing music when i shower, and the dripping noise was quite distracting. Breakfast was clean and well maintained. I saw the guy working behind the scenes as he checked on coffee levels and refilled food. While he didn't interact with customers, he was working efficiently. Hotel is clean and fresh. Staff are very helpful, hardworking and friendly. However, I think senior management needs more of a sense of urgency to address some annoying items that negatively impact the guest experience. I am staying at the hotel for six nights and one of the two elevators has been broken for my entire stay. So wait times are long at peak demand times. Second, the laundry machines are out of order- Apparently "waiting for a part". This is an amenity that I count on- so very annoying. After asking 3 times, I did not get maid service on the day it was supposed to happen. I arrived back at my room at 6:30 PM exhausted and no maid service. The maids were still working and cheerfully attended to my room. Apparently staffing shortfalls were the issue. Finally, the breakfasts are understaffed. There is only one very hard working individual attempting to replenish the buffet, clear the tables, handle guest requests etc. So once peak demand starts- trays can run empty and staff are too busy to refill them promptly. One day I finally gave up waiting for the hash browns to be replenished. Minor item but part of an annoying pattern of service shortfalls. It's not the staff on the ground- they are excellent- it's management decisions to shave costs that seem to be the culprit. read more

This hotel worked out perfectly for us! Customer Service definitely exceeded our expectations! We traveled to Sioux Falls so my husband could be reunited with his biological father after almost 50 years. He served in Vietnam and chose Sioux Falls because of its excellent VA Hospital. He is currently on hospice, but we were able to bring him over to the hotel to sit outside by the lake. He loved it. The employees repeatedly asked about our visit and made recommendations on things to do when we weren't with his father. They genuinely seemed to care! Plus, it was nice to walk in and be able to see their smiling faces and to talk a little about our visit. The rooms are very nice and the beds were comfortable! It was perfect for us! read more

Don't stay here if you are allergic to dogs or cats. We tried 2 different rooms but got allergic in both. We never would have stayed here if we had known that animals are allowed in all the rooms and not just specific animal rooms. Such a bummer because the rooms are nice but no amount of cleaning will get all the animal dander/saliva/allergens out. The bedding and couches also smelled moderately of synthetic fragrances which also bother us. The staff was nice though. read more

Great location - very quiet. The hotel is located next to Lake Lorraine. Ample free parking. Check-in - we didn't get the upgraded room as a World of Hyatt member, we had a view of the parking lot instead of the lake. Bed was a little soft for me, but the room was very clean. The room didn't have any amenities such as lotion, shower cap, robe, slippers. There wasn't a safe in the room. The breakfast the first day wasn't very good, probably because the food was sitting out too long. The second day, we were fortunate that the food was freshly prepared and was pretty good. Breakfast buffet was the eggs, fried potatoes, Sausage, bagels/bread, yogurts, cereal, fruit. I gave this hotel 4 stars only because it was above standard for cleanliness. read more

Hyatt Place is always a great experience particularly this location - our King size room felt like home! From the comfy living room set up to the large king size bed, it evoked a sense of comfort and coziness. The room was clean and large except for a few hairs in the shower. The negatives were the thin walls. I heard a baby crying at night before bed and in the morning. I also heard someone's alarm clock going off and it was LOUD! I enjoyed the free breakfast provided: eggs, potatoes, bacon, fruits, yogurt, and tropical fruit cup. read more

We loved our stay at the Hyatt Place Sioux Falls. The staff were really friendly, the hotel is in pristine condition. We were driving through and didn't want to go downtown. There were plenty of restaurants close by - we chose ROAM and it was our favorite restaurant of the trip. Locally owned wood fired food, yum. Hotel breakfast was really nice. Coffee was good and you could lay to have an espresso drink at the bar. Highly recommend! read more

Loved staying here. I have never felt so comfortable staying at a hotel before. I usually get creeped out because of the lack of cleanliness in hotels but this hotel was super clean. It had wood flooring. No disgusting carpeting. Staff was super nice. Bed was really comfortable. We stayed in a king room with lake view. Really nice. Easy access from freeway and near lots of restaurants. We will be staying at this hotel every time we visit Sioux Falls going forward. read more

A great hotel which had a cheerleading competition staying there when we stayed. That part wasn't great. But the manager gave us an upgraded accessible room and that really made our stay there go so much more smoothly. The zero entry shower was very easy to use (in fact we made modifications to our shower at home based on this shower!). We were able to borrow a board game to play with our kids in the lounge where they offered some food, too. The deep fryer was out when we were there but we were able to have salad instead of fries. This was a one night stay on our way through town on vacation. It was clean and comfortable and we are particular about hotels. The breakfast was decent, nothing spectacular, but good enough to get your day started. We would stop here again. One note, the door to our bathroom wouldn't close all the way... it seemed the floor tile was too high to allow the door to meet the trim and latch. This is where we will be staying from now on if we have to get a hotel room in Sioux Falls! We are very picky with our hotel rooms. We will pay for cleanliness, but with Hyatt you can have affordability and cleanliness. It's also beautiful. It overlooks a pond and in a great location. We always travel with our dog and they welcomed him and even have designated areas for them to potty. There are different kinds of hotels that allow dogs. Ones that welcome flea infested dogs and ones that are well groomed and mannered. The second one would be the Hyatt. Highly recommend!!! read more

The room and breakfast and dining options (outside on the veranda or inside - both with a great view of the lake) and exercise room were all great. However, there are no microwaves in the rooms (at least there wasn't in mine) and they changed half way through my visit to no longer offer a microwave during breakfast. The kitchen staff were friendly enough to bring it out on a cart for me to use quickly. They got in trouble by the manager. Isn't helping the customer the right thing to do? I think if you're not going to put microwaves in the rooms, there should be one in the community space 24 hours per day. read more
