Stayed here for 6 nights in April. The location can't be beat! It's just two blocks from the White House. You can walk to so many other sites, including most of the monuments. Lots of great eating nearby. We visited all over town on foot, rental e-scooters and the Metro. The Metro is a great option! There are 2 stations 2 blocks from the hotel - Farragot north and McPherson Square. Different lines stop at diff stations so review your route. Now going back to the hotel, we checked in very late at night, maybe around 1 AM. That check in process took way too long, but we finally made it to our room. Our room was clean. I like hotel rooms that have the wash sink separated from the shower and toilet but theirs is combined. It was clean and updated so I'm pleased! The hotel gym is small but well appropriated. They have a little bit of everything in there! Breakfasts were great - a little bit of something for everyone here. Plenty of hot food options - eggs, hash browns, French toast, etc. Plenty of yogurt, granola, dry cereal, fruit. Don't come late though because it does get very busy. We aimed for the "smooth hours" - before 8am on weekdays. It made a world of a difference! Would definitely come back here!! read more

We recently stayed at the Hyatt House downtown for our kids' spring break. We booked through Expedia and I selected the hotel because it had a parking garage attached and was a mile walk to pretty much any attraction we wanted to see. FYI, the website advertises "in and out privileges", but we found that to not be true. We booked a city view room, but were provided a view of the courtyard. This could have been a miscommunication on Expedia's part. Check in was easy; however, the $100 dollar a night hold on my credit card was excessive. I've been to NYC, Chicago, Palm Springs, and Philadelphia in the last year and not a single one of those hotels charged a fee in this amount and those were higher rated hotels. The location was in the middle of everything and yet close to nothing. Despite being "family friendly" there were no close dining establishments that were friendly to kids and if you walked one block the wrong way, it got sketchy. The room was adequate with three major issues. The shower barely worked. We booked for five and were provided three towels. I asked the maid service for two extras and they were provided promptly, but the next day after the room was cleaned - three towels again. Finally, there was only one tiny trash can in the bathroom about the size of formula. Fortunately, we had a grocery bag that we were able to use for trash. Again, this hotel is marketed to families and the rooms have kitchens - this is inadequate for trash. But for us having a bag, would have had to leave food waste and such sitting out. There was one weird dark stain that appeared to be blood by the door in the carpet , but we didn't worry about it because it wasn't in the living area. Finally, the free breakfast was poorly done. Food was constantly out, even on the first morning before the tour groups arrived. It took at least 10 minutes to replenish anything. The next day, once people checked in, then there was even a dish shortage. The food was clearly not freshly made. The eggs were rubbery and the French toast was slimy. Fresh fruit was provided the first day and then we never saw it again (other than bananas that were turning brown). All of the staff were impressively polite and professional and helpful. They just didn't seem to have enough to work with (especially the breakfast staff). There was a popular restaurant upstairs that looked interesting, but was, alas, not kid friendly. I would not stay again. That's based mostly on the location, but also the excessive hold on the card. That immediately told me they don't trust their clientele. Otherwise, this hotel was just "fine" and you will be treated well by the staff. read more

Really great experience at this location. The room was clean and comfortable. They had housekeeping every day. We never had to request clean towels. The hotel had a rooftop bar that was reasonably priced and the food was good. The breakfast changed variety in the offering each day we were there so that was really nice. The breakfast ran efficiently and even though they stayed very busy, everything was stocked and clean. Location was excellent to be able to walk throughout the city and site see. read more

Eddie was amazing he gave excellent service upon checkin with outstanding restaurant suggestions. Nancy was very helpful too and I think it was Alfonso who got me a cab each time i needed one. Cabs pull right in front of hotel great if raining. The location was conveniently located to many great places in DC. Rooms were clean and are cleaned every day. Breakfast was available too and had many choices including vegetarian options. Internet worked well and showers fully stocked w toiletries as needed. Rooms have mini fridge, and a CVS across the street. Stayed in a ro on the third floor for 3 nights and the room was clean, quiet and comfortable with plenty of sofa, chair and desk space. So stayed at The Hyatt Place White House during a recent trip to DC. For one, it is VERY convenient to many attractions. For those who are mobile, one can walk to the White House, National Mall, several Smithsonian Institutions and even the local gentlemen's club (it's right next door). Local metro stop is a short distance for those needing "wheels" to get around. Aside from the Archibald's being next door, A+ for location. Now with Covid going on, there are so many things NOT happening at the hotel as one would expect. Daily maid service is obsolete, the rooftop bar was not open, the free daily breakfast is limited (grab and go only between 7a-9a) and security personnel was extremely minimal, almost absent (sneaky like the secret service maybe?). The homeless were parked out in front by 9p EVERY NIGHT and no one bothered to move them along (unlike St Regis which was just around the corner). Uf you are looking for a hotel with a view, this is not it. Unless you are a fan of back alleys and building rears. Front lobby check in was at the Starbucks counter (odd?). The staff checking us in/out were very friendly and house keeping was accommodating to my request for extra towels and sundries. Aside from the changes due to Covid, we still enjoyed our stay. Unnecessarily snooty hotel. We called the day before to ask if early check in might be possible at noon, they said it was definitely possible and would note that was our arrival time. They also cautioned that it would only be possible if the room was available, but it wasn't guaranteed. Okay cool, no problem. After driving two and a half hours to get there, when were about to arrive I called again to give them a heads up. We would get there around noon. They then decided to inform me that they had to charge me a fee of $25 to check in before 3 p.m. But no one said anything when I called yesterday, I whined. No dice. Please? Fine, if you stay outside in 30 degree weather for the next hour-and-a-half to two hours and then try to check in then with your three young children then maybe I will waive the $25. Only if you get here at 1:30 or 2. Not 1:25, not 1:25, 1:30--or 2. Clearly I'm making up these numbers to be petty. Okay, okay, that's not a direct quote, but that's essentially what we had to do to avoid the fee. The room is ready but you must let it stay empty for another hour and a half in order to enforce this random hotel policy? Is $25 that big of a deal to you? Apparently it is to us because we tromped around DC in the slushy snow for an hour and a half and got to see the Washington monument. It was all good in the end I suppose! The room itself was clean and we had a courtesy crib/pack-n-play complete with sheets leftover from another family whose child apparently attended a montessori school and is now missing her blankie. The window shade was a bit torn so cold air was difficult to keep out. Did I mention it was cold outside? There was a piece of heavy plastic baseboard that had fallen off the wall and rather than have it keep falling on our toes while we walked by it, I just put it out of the way and didn't even complain to the front desk or ask for any perks. See? Not everything has to be a thing! Also, note that their self-park lot for $15/night is only available for compact cars. Larger vehicles need to park on the street or utilize valet parking for $49/day. We enjoyed the bagged breakfast in the morning, took off and never looked back. read more

We were booked in room 221, and there's a f'ing strip club that abuts this room! It's one o'clock in the morning, can't sleep because the bass feels like it's cranked to the max, and Hyatt could literally give two shit$. I see complaints about this particular room going back 6 years, yet they they have the gaul to offer this room to guests. This is so insulting as a consumer! Tonight is the first night of a much anticipated and expensive vacation and the Hyatt KNOWINGLY sold me a room that they knew guests would be subjected to loud music to until the wee hours of the morning. I don't really get all the bad reviews. Everyone we dealt with was super nice. The lobby was clean and the rooms were clean and the same layout as most hyatts. I booked here because of the location. It was a block from the white house and less then a mile to the Washington Monument which was awesome. The breakfast during covid is a brown bag with a muffin and a juice. If you care about a view there really isn't a good one from any room. The parking is 30$ a night in an underground basement. It is really steep to get in and only compact cars will fit, I was checking out early so it was convenient. Overall good location and value outweigh any negatives. read more

This is a barely 3 I'm being nice 3 rating. 3 stars for a basically good hotel with a comfy bed and pillows, a nice shower for a good nights rest in a prime location for a fair price mid week and no holiday if you have AAA. Also they truly have a full breakfast, pics are realistic. Without these savings grace things, I might've been really upset because the price would've been $100 more plus having to also deal with the below. 2 stars for a dirty trash can with used disposable contacts stuck to the top, in Covid, yuck! Plus found a piece of curled metal likely from opening a can in my grits and almost cut my mouth as a result. Then I arrived late (well past midnight) as I had a long driving day and was told that the self parking is only for compact cars not a small SUV (Mazda CX5 rental), second the valet closes at 11pm and third I'd have to pay $27 to park several blocks away and walk back at night. So I left my bags at the hotel, checked in and looked on spot hero and found the same slot for $10. The front desk said the parking lot address was 1010 13th st and the entrance is there if you follow Apple Maps, however the signs say 1301 K St or One Franklin bldg which is confusing. So make sure you ask the attendant if the address is 1010 13th st before trying to park as there's a similar parking lot across the street with no signs. Lastly I was followed by a clearly homeless opportunistic tall male who thought I had something of worth despite carrying nothing abd then a white can followed me down K st. K street is a major thoroughfare, but there was no security and no cops and no people so clearly they know this and we're taking advantage of it! This hotel needs to find a better option for parking and/or clearly state all of these rules on your site. Oh and the rooftop they tout is only open 4-10pm so if you check in late and leave early you miss it. Of course that's not posted online either. Despite all of this, the service was good and very friendly people. Do better on parking, cleaning and cooking and on listing rules on your site guys. read more

I rarely post reviews, but the treatment I received checking in was not only the singlehanded worst hotel experience I've had traveling weekly for business in 15yrs, but also one of them most negative interactions I've had with another individual. I checked in at 6pm New Years Day with a man named Lance. As I entered the lobby, he was by the bar chatting with workers and just pointed to the computer upon noticing me enter. He didn't greet me or even say hello even when we got to the counter. It was awkward so I said "checking in for (my name) as I handed him my ID." His response was to rudely say "well I'll need a credit card." I asked if they accepted Apple pay to which he said "whateverrr you want," while rolling his eyes and giving me attitude. Even at this point, I was willing to give him grace since I know NYE the night before was probably hard on hospitality staff. I noticed the keypad was behind the counter so I waited until he was ready for me to tap since I wasn't going to reach back behind the counter. After about a min he looked at me and went "Well???" So I awkwardly reached behind the counter to tap my phone- he didn't even move it closer so I could reach it. He gave me general instructions to the elevator and breakfast and handed me my key. At the end I asked if I could use the luggage carts in the lobby and he motioned annoyedly and shouted "what do you think?!" At this point I was done giving grace and said "Sir, I don't know if you're having a hard day but you're being extremely rude and unprofessional." I asked for a supervisor and he claimed he was the supervisor. I asked for his boss' name and he told me he'd be in at 8am. I was literally shaking after this interaction, and waited outside in the cold with my kids debating if we forego the reservation altogether. We decided to cut our stay short and check out the next morning instead bc I figured Lance wouldn't oblige anyway. The reason for this lengthy review is that as a POC, I pick up on racist microaggressions (or rather aggression here) when I see one. It was disheartening to see it come from another POC and, worse, from hospitality staff. I met with Moustafa the supervisor the next morning who was kind and profusely apologized. He helped us change rooms since ours was dirty (another separate issue) and promised points in exchange for not checking out early (which we never got actually). I encouraged him to review the CCTV footage to get an unbiased view of how his staff treats guests when he's not around. I cannot imagine why someone who has so much contempt for guests and who clearly hates his job to be allowed to continue to be employed there. The hotel overall was also dingy and outdated, with blackout curtains duck taped to the windows. I'd forego this property and consider other options if possible. read more

Enjoyed a pleasant stay at this Hyatt Place location. The hotel itself was easy to get to from the bus/train station. The location was also great - most of the sights we wanted to see where with in walking distance. Our room was spacious and clean. The staff was always helpful and friendly. The daily breakfast was also great and varied each day. Their was always plenty of seating in the breakfast area despite the fact that it could get busy! Prior to my stay I had read the other reviews about a strip club being next door but I probably would not have known it was there if it weren't for the reviews. I personally never heard any commotion or noise coming from the strip club. The only issue that I experienced during my stay was a double billing issue. However, it was quickly resolved once I brought it to the staffs attention. I would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future. read more

The worst experience I've ever had!!! Room was never cleaned, and towels never were changed during a week. Breakfast was included in the price, but it wasn't look like a breakfast. The guy in the front desk tried to grab a money from the tourists. Tea and coffee supposed to be free in the morning. I was there at 9:40, and the guy said that we have to pay $14 for 2 cups of water and a cup of coffee. The only staff member that was nice and could answer to our questions was Herach. Stayed here for just a few days and it was terrible. 1st I called to get the rates for parking. I was quoted $49 vs $54 for valet overnight. Staff is not informed and terrible customer service. When I checked out they said if I said something sooner they could change it. What did it matter when when I was given wrong info. I had a tight & busy schedule so when I called for my car in advance it was never on time giving more than 30 min advance notice. Made me late until I had to adjust. This place is not suitable for anyone needing to stay for business. For tourist who have no timeline I guess its fine and decent location. Often there is no place to even leave your car for valet. Water pressure in the room is deplorable. AC was loud and didn't work. Needed maintenance to come in. read more

The breakfast is garbage and made my stomach so sick that I lost out on my dream job. The room was clean, but noisy and I couldn't sleep. The company I was interviewing with paid for my room, but they asked for my card for incidentals and charged me the whole amount. Stayed one night here when working late in the area and had a good experience. The hotel is conveniently located downtown in a safe area. I could walk to anything I needed and went for a run down around the tidal basin. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area and some pretty upscale shopping nearby. Easy access to the metro as well. Check in process was easy. I didn't use any amenities so can't comment on that. The room was standard. Very clean. Bedding was comfortable and clean, no issues with noise from other rooms. The only sort of odd thing was the foot flush toilet in the bathroom...thought that was a little odd but no big deal. Overall, a clean comfortable and convenient stay downtown. Would recommend! read more

We were looking for a hotel within walking distance of the White House and the surrounding area, this hotel was located in an ideal location. After arriving to the airport, the ride to the hotel was less than 10 minutes. Upon arriving to the hotel the lobby was literally chaotic. The staff were overwhelmed attempting to assist guests while an elderly gentleman was wandering the lobby in his underwear, mainly due to the fact his pants were falling down. After several minutes we were being checked in and the streaker was asked to leave the building. We checked into the room, which was very nice and it provided a living / work space. The room was very clean, plenty of linens and the bed was very comfortable. We required a higher speed internet connection, so we called to check on the availability and found out that option was not available. The room also came with a coffee machine which I mistakenly plugged in and was immediately overwhelmed with a smell I could only associate with "dirty chicken". I dismissed the coffee maker as an option. The hotel hallways were noice and quiet, there was a set of earplugs on the nightstand which we initially wondered if they were there due to the gentleman's club next door? We later realized they were an option for guests to use due to the fact there was some serious construction going on outside and started early in the morning. We had breakfast in the lobby which was very good, they offered a significant variety of fresh food. The lobby also has a bar to provide drinks, coffee, small snacks, etc. The restaurant has a rooftop bar as well, we attempted to eat dinner up there but found there was literally no room to sit anywhere. We also found out the kitchen closed early and realized the you must approach the staff if you need assistance, they will not approach you. We did sit in the lobby for some drinks and light snacks, the staff in the lobby were more than helpful, extremely friendly and great for conversation. One thing I considered as an option for getting some work done was to use the business center, but after seeing the business center was in the middle of the lobby with no formal walls or separation from the rest of the environment, this was not an option. I would say the price point for this hotel is a bit high based on the level of amenities it provides vs. the amenities of neighboring hotels. The lobby did not offer complimentary coffee and teal like its competitors and the in-room coffee maker was NOT an option. The internet speed upgrade is always an option for me at other hotels, when working this is a must. Cheers! read more

We're here now and are sorry about it. The hotel presents as 2 star, but costs far more than that. Room is small even though we paid for one of the best rooms in the building. The neighborhood has nothing to offer. There's no real sense of hospitality here. There's a water alter, but they didn't offer bottled water, and there's none in the room. My husband tried to get the "free" breakfast but the line is so long, he got a cup of coffee and left. If you're looking for a place to stay, you might be disappointed by this one. We're going to see if we can go to an upgraded Hyatt. This hotel just makes us want to go home. (We like Hyatt in general.) read more

The place is a little dingy. I had no choice but to book this as it was a last minute reservation and close to where I needed to be. I wish they had normal blankets, it's just a waffle sheet. Coffee maker doesn't work. Front feet is really nice it's an Asian young lady and she is extremely accommodating and polite. I'm changing this review to one star. Free breakfast was a joke. It was a brown bag with BROWN banana, cheap tiny cup of yogurt and a gas station muffin and gas station apple juice. I would guess that on a typical stay, they are closer to a 4 star. However, we were visiting during the Nuclear Summit (meaning there were 55 world leaders nearby) and this hotel filled up last minute (I think colleague said that their room rate was $650?). Thus, I suspect that they weren't properly staffed for the crowds. Pros: Location. You are 2 blocks from White House and next door to the St. Regis. Its a great spot for sightseeing. Free Breakfast (but I think it ended earlier than other places). 24 hour marketplace (if staff is there). Cons: Room Size. This was the smallest Hyatt Place Room, I've stayed. View. We didn't have one, but I don't think any of the rooms have a view. Staff was hit or miss. Some days friendly, some days absent (one evening, we told another staff member to charge our room for the waters because no one at the front desk). First, the room was clean and nice. I arrived after traveling a full day and on the Hyatt site it says it has restaurant 24/7 so I wa looking forward to a light meal and drink. NO such thing. The small counter by the reception only had sodas and water no food at all. The 2 young men working the the front desk were NOT very helpful or accommodating when I asked where I could get some food or drink. All they said use UBER Eats, whaaaaat? I do no know how to use Uber Eats! The 2 young me working the desk could have told me that the next door Marriott has an open bar til midnight and so do some of the other big hotels in the neighborhood, but they were NOT helpful just smirky! read more

WEST WING ME Okay let's get the weird things out of the way. SHADDY VALET - its $54 bucks to park valet with tax which was exactly half of my room rate. Why does my car parking cost almost as much as my room. The valet guy tried to get me to give him $20 cash to park in a legal spot in front of the hotel. I wanted to buy a legal parking ticket which was under $8. I finally bought a spot with the spothero app for $15. I was afraid the valet would screw with my rental car because I didn't give him the cash. He even ran up to my window before I drove away and counter offered with $15 cash. I told him no thanks because I bought another spot. WERID BREAKFAST ITEMS - On day two of my stay there were two strange dishes being offered for breakfast. One was a platter of baked beans in tomato sauce and the other was a platter of tofu and vegetables. I thought that maybe I was being punished for something I did wrong in life. These are not your typical breakfast choices while living in America. I'm assuming they must have some regular foreign business travelers that request these very special dishes. HORRIBLE VIEW - When I went to check in I asked for a great view. The guy who checked me in said my view was amazing. It was probably the worse view ever. In fact, I hardly even had a window. It was tucked in the corner behind the clothing cabinet. I had to laugh because it was just terrible. I then wondered what this guy thought a bad view looked like. I can only imagine. Now let's talk about the good things. LOCATION - One morning I woke up early and walked over to the White House which is literally around the corner. I even walked over to the Washington monument. It was a pleasant walk. I even talked to a secret service agent located outside the White House and got some great stories. ROOM - The room was comfortable but small. I was traveling by myself so it was perfect but if I was with my family we would have been stepping on each other. The bed was perfect. There was a small fridge and a sitting area too. VALUE - I booked online and got a great deal. I couldn't believe I got the room for $100. I thought for sure it was going to be crappy but it wasn't. BREAKFAST - Besides the two strange items mentioned above everything was really good. There was fresh fruit and hard boiled eggs. Those are perfect for me when trying to be healthy on the road. I would totally stay here again especially with the great deal. There's a business center in the lobby which was perfect for me because I needed to print out a few last minute things for work. The room had a mini fridge which I always appreciate. There's also a workout room. Yeah this hotel has everything but I'm staying away from the breakfast tofu. That just isn't right read more

This location is very close to the Black Lives Matter plaza and to the White House and located in a good area that is the only benefit of staying in this hotel. the front desk, gentleman and ladies were very nice and hospitality was amazing. They were super cool this location is also located near a gentleman strip club and I did see a mouse roaming around in the front which kind of gave it a dirty vibe. Also, there is a CVS across the street I was in the CVS with my boyfriend at the time when there was a robbery going on , as far as housekeeping terrible housekeeping, our bedsheets were not change for a duration of five nights that we stayed from Saturday, October 29 until check out November 3. I noticed that there were stains on the pillowcases from the moment I checked them there were stains on the towels. There was hair on the shower walls and we also got a lot of bug bites. Hence the photos are attached. We were constantly itching. We woke up with bug bites .. Pretty sure there's bedbugs absolutely disgusting room did not feel comfortable I was already waiting to come home and also uncomfortable bed that feels like you're sleeping on metal. The couch was stained. Housekeeping seems to just be rushing. The floor was never vacuumed. There was crumbs on the floor during our stay. They were never picked up. It's literally a hit or miss with this hotel, I would only recommend staying here just for the location because you're near everything. I just think the house keeping is lazy af . So if you don't mind a couple beg bugs then this is the spot for you lol read more

We have stayed in a lot of places in a few different states since the lock down. If you have traveled u know the drill now. No cleaning rooms and No service. Lucky if the front desk even answered the phone. NOT the story here. We have stayed for a week and We have had clean towels, restocked TP and garbage removal everyday without asking. Super friendly staff has greeted us each day. Ms Tee made us feel welcome and her bubbly personality is fun to have around. Good restaurant recommendations and maps. We feel like we are coming home each day. Wow that's huge. The rail is two blocks away, CVS is across the street. It's a great location. Breakfast could be better but it's free. The hotel gym is clean and up to date. That's a huge plus too. We would stay here again for sure. read more

We came here after checking out early from The Westin (city center) due to disgustingly terrible service and rude employees. This Hyatt, although not a luxury hotel by any means, was clean, comfortable, and had the nicest staff willing to accommodate all your needs to the best of their ability. The beds were clean and soft. The pillows weren't flat and lumpy. The sinks and showers were clean. A lot of other reviewers complained of noise near K St, but if you get a room towards either side or back of the hotel, there's no noise issues at all. Not even a weekend at the strip club next door could wake us up. The location pretty much can't be beat, especially for the price at $130 a night on Easter weekend, as it's just a short three block walk from the White House. There's also no shortage of restaurants and shops around say, if you need to grab something real quick from a nearby CVS. read more

Just stayed here for a quick trip to DC. It is conveniently located within walking distance to several great restaurant's, coffee shops and the White House. Our room was clean, not outdated at all. The only issue we had is that we arrived around 9 pm on the day of check-in as we were coming from another state. The hotels parking was full. I had to park 4 blocks away as many of the parking decks nearby had closed at 9 pm. I will say we spoke with the front desk and we were able to get a spot at the hotel's parking the next day but the hassle that night was annoying after driving several hours to get there. Picked this hotel for its location. Glad we were out all day because the room we had was unbelievably tiny without a normal size window. Incredibly poor architectural design. Never stayed in any major city before, downtown, and had such an issue. Very disappointing. I went down to the front desk 3x to see if we could get a room with a decent window - I can't feel like I'm sleeping in a box! The first two rooms barely had a window - it was a narrow piece of glass tucked away in the corner behind the closet. I was more than willing to pay for an upgrade but it was a holiday weekend. The front desk receptionist & manager were friendly, patient & tried hard to be accommodating. Finally got a room with a small window that wasn't hidden behind a closet. Location is great, staff was very friendly and the room was clean, but I will never stay here again. read more

Hands down the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. As you can see from the photo, there is almost no natural light in the room, making it feel quite depressing. The room also smelled like an antique shop -- not exactly what I wanted from my hotel. We tried to get another room and staff was condescending and not helpful with us. Ended up being unable to get a different room. We tried to park our car at the hotel's garage, but they said our car was too big. It's a Subaru Outback... Unless you have a smart car, you probably won't be allowed to park here. I asked the front desk staffer where the closest place to park was and was told "there's plenty of places around the street." Not exactly helpful. And while that statement isn't untrue, almost all of the garages are either not open overnight or are closed on weekends. This lead to us having to park almost 4 blocks away! The rooms had a mini fridge that wasn't cold, a coffee maker that I didn't try and no microwave. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. The couch was actually more comfortable than the bed, but wasn't big enough for me to sleep on. Sadly, one star doesn't do justice to how bad this hotel was. I wish I could give less. If you want to have a nice trip, please please don't make my mistake. Look elsewhere. read more

We had a wonderful stay for our vacation. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff at the desk were so nice. It was nice to see the Managers helping the staff out with everything. We went to the rooftop bar every evening. I would really like to recognize the staff from the bar especially Patrick and Jasmine. They remembered us from the first night and called us by name. They were always friendly and very helpful. The location is perfect for sightseeing. Also lots of restaurants within walking. Would highly recommend. D Lewis read more

I like this Hyatt Place. Starting with check-in, Felicia was pleasant and professional. She found me a nice quiet spacious room that is very comfortable. As the first person you meet at the hotel she really makes you feel welcome. I like the Hyatt Place concept. It's a good choice for business travel. Clean, simple, modern, convenient and comfortable and you get free breakfast too. The location can't be beat, its right near the WhiteHouse. They have a rooftop lounge too. Lots of Pokemon-go stops for blocks and blocks all around. Overall, highly recommend. read more

The only good thing about this hotel was the location. Everything else about the room, staff, and service was awful... We paid for a Queen Room with Two Queen beds and got a room with Two Full Sized Beds instead. We were told that everything else was booked up. So being exhausted from our drive to DC, and having small children who were also very tired, we decided to make the best of it. However, we get to the room and the surfaces were dusty. We inform the front desk and the guy says that someone will come the next day!!! My husband had to go to the Seven-Eleven, to purchase Lysol Spray and Sanitizing wipes for us to clean the room so that we could at least be comfortable for the night. For the next two days, we requested housekeeping and no one showed up. I finally got tired and went to the front desk to speak to the clerk. She said that someone would be right up. However, when the guy came, he brought us a black smelly garbage bag with towels and said that was all he could do because it was late and housekeeping had already left for the day. Additionally..... the room was cold because the heat would not stay on and there was a draft coming from the window. Thank goodness we always have traveling blankets in our car for the kids. And at night we would take the mattress from the bed closest to the window and place it on the sofa bed for the kids to sleep. After three nights of this, we decided to pack up and leave early. Traveling with children is always challenging but this is the first time we had an awful experience in a "Family Friendly" Hotel. read more

Our stay at this location was very pleasant. I'm definitely planning to come back so I can roam the streets in DC and get my Yelper action on. All to say is that, I would stay at this hotel again. The block was definitely not skanky. Aside from the fact that a strip club is next door, it truly wasn't a big deal. I guess there was no inside party this weekend due to the Memorial activities taken place outside. Staff was definitely professional and accommodating. He explained to us that our rooms were going to be on separate floors because we wanted two rooms with queen sized beds. He let us know that the rooms with the queen sized beds are not usually adjacent to each other. So we asked for one of the rooms to have a king size bed and he was able to secure two adjacent rooms afterwards; one with two queen sized beds and the other with a king sized bed. We were on the second floor. Easy peasy. The rooms are amazingly big, especially the room with the queen-sized beds. We had a mini living room area to just chillax. Breakfast is served in the mornings. On Sunday morning, we woke up before the other hotel guests to get breakfast. The breakfast was standard. It wasn't amazingly delicious but it was okay enough to calm the hunger war in my belly. I had no complaints. Prices were standard for the Hyatt especially if you booked in advance, you would've gotten a bit of a better deal. We booked a month and a half ahead in advance. It's not a five star hotel but I believe the prices were good enough to reflect the quality and service here. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. Its a prime location of being close to restaurants, the museums and the Union station. We also utilized Uber services since we had multiple people. Uber was great out here as well. read more
