We stayed two nights at this Hyatt place while we were in town for a medical conference. It's a 10 min walk from the Blue Line to this hotel, it's super easy to get to from the airport. Lots of convenient coffee shops and restaurants near by. The rooms are clean and the breakfast had plenty of options. The check in and check out staff were amazing. Zafar checked us out and asked if we needed any help for the rest of our stay. We received late check out since we were Discoverist members. I would definitely stay at this hotel in the future if I was to come back to DC. read more

The pillows and beds are so comfortable - it had me sleeping for so many hours. Location is great as it is only a 25 minute walk to downtown Georgetown near the canals. Parking - there is a garage right next to the hotel, the rate information is super confusing. The concierge was not clear as to what the parking options are other than valet - they were not of much help. The gym is very small and crammed. It also has a very pungent smell, perhaps from the pool, that makes you not want to workout. There is plenty of seating to work from the lobby, also there is a Blank Street Coffee attached to the lobby, match made in heaven? read more

I had a very unpleasant experience with Onamica, the reception service worker. After waiting 10-15 minutes for her to finish with another customer, she asked me to hold on and instead attended to a white customer who arrived after me, claiming they had been waiting. I pointed out that I had been standing there waiting and emphasized that I'm on a tight schedule for work, just like everyone else. I will have agency not to book with this hotel anymore. read more

well, I only stayed here for one night. I had a wonderful experience and a smooth transition with valet! My parents did stay here another time and expressed that they definitely enjoyed their experience. it was clean and gave you just the amount of space you would need for a simple hotel while also being located in a great location in between Georgetown Dupont Circle Foggy Bottom and K St. if you're looking to book this hotel, and you have enough time in front of you, I highly recommend looking into the top restaurants that are in the immediate quick walking distance. Great location in the West End, but a little far from the Metro. Valet Parking is $50, but there is a parking garage right next door if you are not looking to valet your car. Check in was quick and friendly. Problem is that the room smelled musty. Given that the room lacked natural light- building across the street and limited windows, it might be something they should address in the future. My girlfriend was feeling unwell which put a damper on our stay. Breakfast was complimentary and there were hot options available. No bacon though. read more

Horrible... I checked in on 6/9... nice young lady checked me in to room 305. Went to the room and had worked all day and flew to DC arrived at 9 pm. The TV was not working and no WiFi.. I have already changed so I didn't go downstairs to report so tried to call on phone and rooms phone was not working either.... Try to call front desk from my cell phone and no one answered so after 6 minutes I hung up and went to bed. Next morning went downstairs to check out and told them about the problem and was told they knew about the situation... no one told me when I checked in. The front desk told me I will receive a credit and manager will call me back... neither of these two promises happened. I called the next day and was on hold for manager over 18 minutes and hung up and called back and they told me the manager will call me back... never got a calll and was charged fully for a miserable night.... My friends and I are staying for the long weekend for a little getaway. Fortunately for us, our room was ready early so we were able to check in early. Bed, linen, and closet space was clean. Shower temperature was hot with subpar pressure. Location is ideal for the places we're are trying to over. A great spread for breakfast is available. See attached photo for some of their items. I travel for a living and stay at Hyatt's whenever possible. Last time in DC i had a not-so-great experience at the Hyatt DC on K street, so i gave this one a try, and I'm glad i did. I had a really lovely experience at this hotel. The check in couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Every person i came into contact with was friendly and helpful. the hotel has a good layout and a good location. Rather than pay the typical (high) parking fee i just self-parked at the adjacent garage - easy in and easy out. This is my new home in DC and as a seasoned traveler i encourage you to give this a try. read more

My wife and I had been looking forward to touring Washington D.C. since we first began dating. In fact, we may have actually first connected while nerding out over U.S. History in high school. Being that I was going to be in the area for a work-related trip that week anyway, we decided to bookend my visit with 3 days exploring D.C. as an anniversary trip. If you've been there, you know that lodging prices are wild, even though hotels seem to be everywhere. After reviewing about 20 of them before we booked, we decided to go with the Georgetown area Hyatt and that decision proved to be one of the best ones we made on the trip. Being that we knew we'd likely be out exploring for the majority of the time anyway, we had originally booked a middle-of-the-road room. When we were checking in, the manager heard that we were staying there during our anniversary trip. When we returned to the hotel later that evening, the staff let us know that as a gesture of congratulations they had graciously upgraded our room from one of the lower levels to the 9th floor (one floor under the rooftop) and had also kindly gifted us a bottle of wine and glasses. We were blown away. The kindness shown by this staff was one of the greatest, most memorable features of the entire trip, and overall provided one of the best experiences we have ever had at a hotel. I'll list some of the first things that come to mind below: -Staff members Worke, Mikiase, Inga (I believe), and Atifwere incredible -Housecleaning -Breakfast! -Cleanliness of facility -Ease of all processes related to the booking -View from hotel room -Price to value, even with original room -Rooftop is awesome -Coffee shop in lobby I just want to reiterate my gratitude for this Hyatt's manager and front desk staff who were what made the experience so great. Quick one night stay, but everything was on point. The lobby was inviting and the staff was cordial. The room was spacious and well designed. Although we did not need the pull out couch for sleeping, it was nice having the room to spread out. Some of the furniture looked a little worn, but I did not mind. Breakfast had plenty of options including hot and cold items. I enjoyed the hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and oatmeal. The coffee was really good! This is a nice hotel in a nice part of town. Located right next to a bakery, bagel shop, and walgreens. The front desk staff on arrival was kind, even looking for a better room available for us since I am a World of Hyatt member. Beds were comfortable and room size was good. Three things that were not up to par: 1. Hotel pool is still not working. Looking at other reviews, it looks like it's been months now. 2. Front desk evening staff is a bit rude/incompetent. When my wife inquired about more Towels on our second night, the black female working the desk acted like we were taking them from her house and that 5 was too many. We skipped housekeeping the day before. They ended up bringing us three. The overnight guy at 4 am was asleep at the desk and when I asked him to locate something he acted inconvenienced. Would I stay here again? Yeah probably, but I'd also look for another choice if the staff isn't going to be welcoming to their guests. read more

Great Location with poor customer service and non working amenties. Elevators didn't work with my cards for the entire stay, swimming pool didn't open like advertised, heat was not working properly(this is during winter), hot water was not working. I usually don't complain and swallow my pill but traveling with kids made it harder to stay i had to check out early since my kids started coughing. Especially the Manager i wen to talk to was very disrespectfull and started screaming and arguing with me in front of other guests. Having lived in DC I wouldn't call the location "Georgetown" but it is a quick walk to get to Georgetown and more centrally located to the heart of DC which to us was a plus. Our compliments to the staff who were friendly, helpful, and courteous. The rooms are nicely appointed and clean. The only negative is the air conditioning was loud which I had read about in other reviews. They do offer valet parking ($50) which is very convenient and the guys that work valet are great and prompt with your car. You can check for less expensive options. Due to an abundance of Hyatt points, my wife and I chose this specific Hyatt place for its location and reasonable 12,000 per night redemption rate. The main thing this hotel has going for it is location. Nightlife and restaurants in DuPont circle are a short walk away, and a mildly longer stroll gets you to charming Georgetown or the iconic museums/monuments. With that prime location comes steep parking prices. The hotel valet charges something ridiculous like $50 a night, cheaper spots to the tune of $20 or so for 24 hours (albeit without in and out privileges) can be found at the garage directly next to the hotel as well as in numerous lots/garages within a few blocks. On the weekends, free spots on the street (3-4 blocks away) are also available if you want to chance it. Our room felt relatively spacious and was fairly clean. A large window allowed for plenty of light and a view of the busy street below. While check in and out went smoothly, the service here was suboptimal, as the staff failed to send up some toiletries and surprisingly requested I come to the lobby and get them. In contrast to our disappointing service, the breakfast buffet surprisingly offered a solid amount of options, including fresh fruit, French toast, eggs, potatoes, and assorted muffins. We generally enjoyed our short stay and found the hotel a very good option for points, though we'd likely be disappointed if we paid the sticker price of $190 per night. read more

It's pretty easy to see why this place is cheaper than many of the other hotels around the area. Floor had obvious stains that should be removed or carpet replaced. The TV did not have any streaming apps, and the model was too old to cast from other electronics (though it seems they were in the process of upgrading in April 2024). Free breakfast was a plus. If I could rate this hotel with NO stars I would. I purchased a package through Costco including my hotel stay. In checking in they asked for my credit card which I requested verification for incidental charges (completely standard). I was told, "No! You need to pay for your room." To which I responded with my Costco itinerary and confirmation. After providing a plethora of evidence that this stay had been paid for the gentleman at the front desk agreed that the charge would merely be for incidentals. Surprise they charged me $500 additionally and thus far have refused to reimburse a week later (once I laid in the anger they did reimburse the incidental charge of $50) stating that it is not their problem. Needless to say, Costco and my bank are now involved with claims of fraud. This hotel's horrible. Aside from monetary theft, the following were also issues: Free breakfast as stated on their website not free. Charged $13/person Cockroaches abound in the pool area.....gross!! Elevators were hit and miss. Not a ride went by without a front desk staff needing to use a master fob to take any one to the desired floor. It took me 4 attempts to even get to the fitness level. Key cards did not work in the elevator. Fitness studio had rusted broken equipment. As a fitness professional this is dangerous. Overall this hotel and its staff are horrible. Rude, deceitful, petty and downright dirty!!!!! read more

This was such a lovely hotel. Easily accessible, clean, and friendly staff. Check in was a breeze and with the occasional "outsider" attempting to enter the building, the security measures at the door were much appreciated. We arrived late and were assisted quickly and were off to our room in less than five minutes. Our room was far enough from the elevator to have a peaceful night's sleep. The only thing we were not keen on were the pillows (weird down pillows), a rude parking attendant in the adjacent lot (we ended up parked at another hotel across the street) and lack of access to a microwave. Other than that, I was a great stay. We booked one night and ended up extending out stay an additional night (we had a previously unsavory stay prior to our arrival in a different city). We will be returning this summer or fall to visit more museums as they open, hopefully we will be here again. read more

I had an a great experience at the Hyatt Laayoune week. I usually stay at Marriott hotels, but when I was arranging accommodations, the Hyatt was significantly less than other hotels, so I gave it a try. From the valet to the front desk staff to the housekeepers, everyone was friendly and accommodating. My room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Great for families because of the free breakfast. Clean and nice roof deck. Short bus trip to Georgetown waterfront and walk to DuPont. But I wish they were more environmentally friendly. The breakfast buffet is a free-for-all and the staff try to push the use of paper cups and styrofoam plates. See images. I spent the week here and every morning I would pull the plates, dishes and cups off the shelves and place them next to the disposable plates, etc. Within 60 seconds they would miraculously be put away again. It kills me to see swarms of guests (yes, it feels like swarms because everyone shows up for free breakfast) using styrofoam plates to eat inside the restaurant, not to take away. read more

The location was perfect for me. I was right where I needed to be with access to dupont and close to Vapiano's. When I arrived with my toddler in tow they immediately offered to get me a play pen for her, I accepted,although it never arrived (womp, womp, womp)! The employees were super friendly, breakfast was included and it was very tasty. We loved it. The room was clean and quite spacious! In fact the last 4 hotels that I have stayed at have been Hyatt's and honestly, I plan to keep it up! I highly recommend this hotel for the convenience to eateries, the university, and because the friendly employees. read more

Was planning on staying next week, from Florida. Yesterday informed that my husband is COVID +, advised to get tested as well. My whole family is COVID +, called to cancel reservations however was informed by MANAGER YOGI that my room could not receive a refund or a credit?? We are interested in visiting maybe during spring break, MANAGER YOGI states No. I'm pretty sure we can NOT GET ON PLANE COVID +. My question who else is walking around that hotel COVID + ARE YOUR STAFF WALKING AROUND COVID 19, IN ORDER TO KEEP THEIR JOB. I've stayed at many different hotels and felt confident booking with Hyatt in Georgetown. That being said, I am dissatisfied with the lack of customer service and the fact that the General Manager, Moh, lied about sending my deposit and refuses to send me written confirmation. I have honestly never been anywhere and met such rude two-faced staff (excluding the bar woman who was lovely). DO NOT book with this hotel if you value transparency and professionalism. I'm trying to help prevent everyone else from having such a frustrating experience. Months later, I am still in the process of getting the money back that I was charged after I was told there would be no additional charges to my card and I already had left the hotel. I've been on the phone many times in the last 2 months trying to get my money back because of the fact that MOH WILL NOT SEND ME WRITTEN CONFIRMATION THAT MY MONEY HAS BEEN REFUNDED. He will tell me verbally on the phone, but won't send me records of a refund. It goes like this - Each time I call the Hyatt hotel, I'm verbally told that the deposit has been issued back to my card. I ask for written confirmation to send to my credit card company (because the refund has NOT been issued) and am put on hold. Ten minutes later, I am told when Moh will be in so I can bring this issue up with the GM. I have yet to receive my deposit. On top of that, I took the issue up with my credit card company thinking Chase would be more assistive. Chase bank tells me they need written confirmation the refund was issued, which Moh will not give me. Therefore, Chase denied my dispute and Hyatt still owes me about $150. Long story short, these Hyatt hotel staff members are scammy and unprofessional. read more

Stayed here this past Memorial Day weekend for a grandmother-mother-daughter weekend in DC. A simple, yet beautifully decorated hotel about a mile from Georgetown. As a Hyatt "Place", everything you need is available but on a compact, no-frills level. We stayed in room 715 which was a two-queen-bed room with a sectional sofa which slept the three of us comfortably. The room had a view of the side of another building (but we're not there to stay in our room, right?) We had a mini-fridge, clothes iron, hair dryer, extra pillow, alarm clock, large screen TV and, I might add, a Bible (haven't seen those in hotels in a while). Soap bar and shampoo and conditioner were provided (disappointed there was no shower gel). We needed additional bedding for the sofa which was brought to us swiftly. For breakfast they offer free coffee and granola bars for those that do not wish to pay for the buffet. Breakfast can be purchased for $14 per room per day, not per person, and is well worth it. Coffee, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, juices, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, sausage, french toast and cereal are all on the menu. There is a Starbucks next door and the hotel had no qualms with us bringing in our fancy venti iced caramel macchiatos into the breakfast area to accommodate our scrambled eggs. My mother (the grandmother) was a bit displeased with the attitude of the front desk man (we didn't get his name) who jumped at her for asking if she could take a banana by exclaiming "THIS over here is free, and THIS you have to pay for". LOL. There is valet parking available for a pricey $53 per day, but I guess this is typical pricing for Washington DC and it was well worth it for us. We took out our vehicle many times over the course of the three days and it was brought to us within 10 minutes. A shout out to valet Alan for his great personality! Also should note there is a garage right next door for $30 per day but it closes at 11 so you're stuck if you need them after this time. There is a small rooftop area where you can bring take-out or drinks from the lobby bar to enjoy the DC view but you can't see much in the way of Washington sites. Mostly other buildings. The hotel is very convenient to Georgetown and within 20 minute walking distance to the Lincoln Memorial. There are so many options in the immediate vicinity (Ritz Carlton and Marriott right next door) but I would definitely stay here again for a no-frills option. read more

We came to D.C. for a wedding and this is the group hotel. Our toilet woke me from my sleep because it wouldn't stop running without us SHAKING the handle! We complained to the front desk and nothing was done. We reached out to corporate and the wait was ridiculous. The hotel could use some deep cleaning and it is inappropriate for a toilet in a hotel booked for $200+ per night to require manual operation by the patron! Picture this: it's a cold, late November evening. It's been sleeting all day, and the winds have picked up. You reach your hotel after a long journey, and walk into a warm lobby. The lobby is clean and quiet. You approach the front desk, only to notice complimentary chocolates and warm apple cider. You take some cider, only to be told by the desk staff that the chef handmade the cider because of the horrible weather outside. You sigh, happy and warm. (end scene) This hotel was stellar for the price. Clean, spacious rooms, and newer construction made for a wonderful two day stay. The breakfast is included for Hyatt members (free membership), and is the best complimentary breakfast I've ever had at a hotel. You won't find much better at one of the mid-priced restaurants in the area. We jumped in the pool, which was clean and empty, and stopped up on the rooftop on our sunnier day. Stayed here for a DC Girls Trip. It's a small hotel but it is clean and the staff are really nice. Jonathan in particular stood out. He was gracious from the moment we first encountered him. He also make terrific cocktails :). He made an already good trip into a phenomenal one. He definitely raises the bar for amazing hotel staff. The hotel itself has nice facilities such as an indoor pool and fitness center. It is also within walking distance (about 15-20 min) from all the major attractions such as the White House and Smithsonian. I would definitely stay here if I was to come back to DC. read more

We had a reservation to stay here while our daughter moved into her dorm. Cancelled it 2 months before the stay and stayed in the sister property. Although there was a 24 cancellation period, and we had a email acknowledging the reservation was cancelled charged us as a "no-show". Left 5 messages for accounting (Daria) and 2 for the GM. Will not even give us the courtesy of a call back. Really disgusted with them, have never had this happen before. As an aside when we stayed at the sister property (the Hilton Garden Place), 1 elevator was broken the entire stay, with no end in site according to the staff when they were finally honest. After the false fire alarm was pulled in the middle of the night and they told us all to use the stairs and evacuate (from the 10th floor), the person on duty "forgot" to tell us it was a false alarm. Really the GM should be on these issues instead of ignoring guests. read more
