Great place to stay while in DC! Wasn't a far walk from anything and our room and service were very nice. Front desk staff was nice and accommodating. Room service was good. You pay for breakfast and even a cup of coffee. A little expensive for all of that so I definitely recommend going out to grab your morning coffee and breakfast rather than eating at the hotel. Other than that, it was a very nice place to stay. We will stay here again when we go back to visit more of DC. read more

Outstanding hotel perfectly situated in between Foggy Bottom, Georgetown, DuPont area of DC which is an extremely walkable part of the District. The staff are friendly, the lobby is always alive and full of energy and the M club is fantastic. Special shout out to the M Club staff who always had a fantastic breakfast set up with crispy bacon, scrambled eggs and potato's that tasted fresh. The staff took pride in their work and it's really nice to see that in a hotel. In the room, the bed was comfortable and it seemed spacious for the price. read more

My rating is probably more like a 3.5 but I decided to go with 4 stars because of the very friendly and attentive staff. I checked in for one night and was greeted by the valet (no self-parking; overnight valet is $59(!)). The front desk was very welcoming and made small chat. After telling her it had been a long week, she changed my room to a quieter wing of the hotel given there was a very large group of high schoolers staying at the hotel for a local competition. The wing my room was in had a separate elevator. My only complaint there is that there was some draft that came into the elevator and it smelled like sewer every time you had to ride the elevator. The M Lounge was open (Saturday) and served a variety of hot and cold breakfast items. A very good spread for an executive lounge in the US. The staff was superb and, when another guest brought it to their attention that the eggs were cold, they immediately refreshed them. One thing I loved is that these were real scrambled eggs, not the powder stuff served at most hotels. What a difference! The lobby is very nice and there's a dining area adjacent to it, where you can order breakfast or coffee. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay. read more

I had a solid stay and a decent night sleep during my recent 2-night stay here. Happy to have clean sheets and a clean bathroom. Room did have a little bit of a muggy smell, so I had to lower the AC. But that might be tied to the dated carpeting, which for my room showed a few drinks stains close to the windows/desk in my room. However, If you have a scented candle, that could help alleviate the muggy odor. Overall the location was very convenient and within walking distance of great dining options. Additionally, the concierge lounge (for those with status) was solid. Overall a reliable stay for a reasonable price point. Check-In and check-out was pretty seamless. We booked a suite and got here and they upgraded us the "presidential suite ." Sounds impressive/ but it's not - we needed the pull out and it is completely awful- no bedding in room and had to call The shower is awful and no room with a curtain- gross - no glasses in room - the blanket brought up for guest to use on couch was the weirdest thing Not a blanket ,not a comforter- more like a duvet cover - the club lounge had nothing- We paid almost $900 and I would've preferred a regular room in another hotel- We ordered room service and it was delivered in a bag like door dash with plastic forks - all the food was awful and airplane food would've been better - The light in the "foyer" does not turn out so the person sleeping on the couch had to have that on all night - I give this place a 1 out of 10 Do not recommend at all - go somewhere else - read more

This is exactly what you'd expect from an upper-mid tier Marriott--nothing more, nothing less. The lobby is modern and spacious but forgettable. Staff are friendly and helpful. The location is great--very walkable, with easy access to restaurants, shops, and everything a traveler needs. The rooms are standard issue. You can tell it's been remodeled, but also that it was done on a budget: seams showing, missing caulk, little details overlooked. A few misses: The TVs are ancient in function, if not in size. The remote lags, streaming services freeze, and the whole setup feels Y2K. The in-room coffee is weak and disappointing--at this price point, better coffee should be a given. Still handing out tiny plastic water bottles instead of offering hydration stations, which even budget hotels are now doing. Overall? Not bad, not great. Perfectly "meh." You'll be fine staying here, but you won't remember it. read more

The location is great, great places to eat around the hotel. Also we walked to Georgetown in mere minutes. The room was spacious and clean.

Stayed here for a conference. The room was a decent size. The bathroom was small with little room to move. The valet parking garage was expensive and slow. The meeting rooms were nice. They have a good conference center on the 2nd floor. Service in the lounge was slow and the cup was cracked.. Took forever to get a cup of coffee. Unfortunately they use feather pillows of which I am allergic. When I asked the have the room defeathered, they brought up more feather pillows! I was more impressed with the meals that anything else. We had two luncheons and a banquet. Service was questionable but the food for the conference was delicious. read more

Show up to hotel and neither request displayed in system. Arrived at 4pm (check in time). Rec'd 2 rooms side by side w/o adjoining door. Disappointing but was better than the separate floors initially offered. We were given a token for inconvenience of waiting w additional hours. Token could have been much better for time wasted w the 4 of us being displaced but ok, I guess. Never rec'd extra towels as requested but that's water under the bridge. I do appreciate Aretha attempting to do her best of her ability to right the wrong. Rooms 646 and 648 (2 double rooms). Spacious, clean, comfy, in room fridge and quality toiletries. The rooms were definitely 5 out of 5 star quality. Clean hallways, 3 speedy elevators, connected garage, prime location. My room was in the "business wing" which appeared to be separate from the nice, main lobby elevators and had its own single elevator and the floor had a long, dimly lit hallway with low ceilings that was always had a few black trash bags outside of rooms. It did not feel like a Marriott at all. My room was directly across from the ice machine which made noise throughout the night that I could clearly hear. Additionally, the AC rattled every time it kicked on so eventually I just turned it off despite the summer heat. Perhaps rooms off the normal elevator are nice but this was incredibly disappointing. read more

Due to the chaos of the past couple weeks, the Florida National Guard was staying at the hotel and the regular guests were upgraded to make room. As a result, I was upgraded to The Indigo Suite. Sadly, the room was definitely style over function. For instance, someone thought it was a good idea to place the coffee maker on the one shelf not near an outlet. So I can make coffee in the morning, I had to move it elsewhere. Speaking of shelves, there were none in the bedroom. They were all in the combined living/dining room. The bed was sandwiched between two nightstands with an USB port and dual outlets above them. Although only one nightstand had a working outlet, the other had an alarm clock with dual outlets. So it did not end up being an inconvenience. I assume in the name of being eco-friendly, the shower had refillable canisters attached to the wall for shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. While it may work for shampoo and conditioner which seldom requires more than a single pump, it is a terrible idea for the shower gel. Its canister was barely a third full. Housekeeping did a terrible job at making sure these canisters were filled for the next guest. Remember when hotels would provide the useless shower caps? How much would a small bath sponge cost them? Rather than provide one to apply the shower gel, a small square towel was decoratively placed on a shower tray. It was a good thing I checked the folio prior to checkout. As my package included a $10 credit for food and beverage, I was surprised to see a charge for the snacks which I purchased from the pantry. I had to inform the front desk to remove the charge. Also, my package included a 6am early check in and a 6pm late check out, but the front desk had my check out for 2pm. For the cost of a night, I definitely expected more. read more

There are simply not enough stars to truly capture the wonderful experience that I've at the D.C Marriott at Georgetown. For starters let me give you a little context to help put things into perspective a bit. We are sponsoring a trip of nearly one hundred students. So while I anticipated that coordinating the keys for the visit would be a challenging experience. That was not the case at all. Lucy was wait for us at the doe ( insert the "How Bout Dahl" iconic MEME). She was sooo patient and kind with addressing the various unexpected occupant changes. It was such a great experience. Jessica was also a pleasure to work with when it came time for me to enter in my Bonvoy membership information. Super thankful for such a pleasant experience. Dirty tired worn out Marriott highly trafficked with poor maintenance and poor restaurateur staff and tired interior.

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in with regard to interior design and cleanliness. Our room was amazingly spotless and modern and the tv was the best I'd ever seen in a hotel room. The staff and employees were excellent. We did not experience any rude or offensive behavior. On the other hand, our bathroom in room 744 was very small. We had a two full-sized beds in our room. We had an outside room and the noise was ridiculous! With all the sirens and cars honking, it didn't seem like there was a wall between us and outside. Probably one of the worst night's sleep I've ever had. In addition, we requested an extra pillow and blanket and didn't get it until 50mins later. I probably would only stay here again if I couldn't find another hotel that met my standards at a cheaper price. I would only recommend this hotel to anyone who is a heavy sleeper. read more

Expensive, but what Washington hotel isn't. I had great check-in service from Qadirah, and overall the stay was nothing but pleasant. The hotel breakfast is good (expensive, but again, what in DC isn't) and has excellent coffee. I could have done without the GIANT multiscreen TV display, but I understand that other people need this sort of stuff. Banquet food was also quite good, and they had an excellent wine and beer selection for the bars. I did have some problems with the bar staff, who at first told me the bar "wasn't open yet" (dude, the other bar is handing out drinks, just give me some wine) and then couldn't be bothered to explain to me that they only had expensive bottled water and that there were pitchers in another room. I figured it out eventually, at least? The room was clean and a decent size, and the bed was pretty comfortable. The TV is GIGANTIC (I sense a theme) and lets you sign into Netflix, Hulu etc accounts, which is nice. The view from my window wasn't great, but my guess is most downtown hotels look at other hotels XD It's about a 10-minute walk from a blue line Metro stop, so getting there from the airport is ok, if a bit of a workout if you have luggage. Not actually in Georgetown though, if that's important. Overall, a perfectly good stay for a work thing, though I don't know that I would choose it for a vacation trip. read more

My room was impeccably clean. The sheets were changed and I can clearly see how crisp it was. I was impressed at everything from the moment I stepped in and from the moment I stepped out. The location is perfect and convenient to many restaurants, bars and historical landmarks, museums and monuments. There is so much to do in the area. This Marriott is in a good location, even though it says Georgetown I don't think it's as close to Georgetown. The rooms are nice and spacious. I stayed there for a work conference so I got a chance to see the conference rooms, one of their ballrooms, and try their food. Their catering food was decent for banquet food, and their staff seemed pretty responsive. One of our friends is a Bonvoy Platinum Member so we got access to the M Lounge which was comfortable and had a bunch of perks (drinks, chips, TVs, etc.), from the M Lounge we ordered drinks and they got me this old fashioned with a orange rind frozen into the big sphere ice cube which was pretty good. read more

Highly recommend staying elsewhere! I made the mistake of staying at this location for a week last month. The service was mostly good, but with one glaring problem- the hotel requires valet parking and that service is absolute trash! It is quite expensive and what you end up getting for that price is idiot valets eating food in your car and curbing your new rims. I found a half eaten sandwich in the passenger seat of my car when I picked it up one day, then at the end of my stay I found the curb rash where some moron ran my nearly brand new Acura up against a curb. I emailed the hotel general manager and she ignored my email entirely. I've been fighting with the useless idiots at Park America, the valet service, for over a month. The Marriott is in a good location not a far walk from the Foggy Bottom Metro station. Taxis are on a stand nearby, but Uber was also able to easily swing through the hotel's drop off bay and there was always one within 3 minutes. The staff manning the lobby bar were friendly and one night even comped my hot tea. The menu for dinner offered a small but decent selection of items and the salad I ordered was good and of a decent size. Three brands of newspapers were provided free in the lobby each morning. The room I was in had two queen beds - room 626. The room was spacious enough for two people. There was a desk chair and a lounge chair in the window. There were plenty of outlets at the desk and the bedside. There was a nice walk in shower though it was pretty narrow. The bathroom itself was pretty small, but I guess having the size in the bedroom area is more important. For example, you had to shut the door to sit on the toilet or enter the shower. The gym was very nice and had a cable tower, dumbbells; cardio machines; Swiss balls, foam rollers and mats. There were two spinning bikes as well facing a TV, but I'm not sure what the TV offered. There was a still and sparkling water machine and towels provided. Cons -The chair in the window was very uncomfortable. -The bathroom lights were very bright and there was only the one light option behind the mirror's edges. -The bathroom door had a frosted glass center so if someone was trying to sleep while someone was trying to shower even if the showering person closed the door the entire room got lit up brightly. For sharing a room with someone this is a major issue. -There were no clear instructions in the gym for how to operate the spin bikes and the seemingly associated TV. The set up led me to believe something Pelotonish was supposed to happen but I couldn't figure it out. ​ Overall the hotel was fine and did its job but I wasn't wowed or convinced to be loyal to it. Would not recommend. I am a Titanium Elite member with Marriott which is one of their highest tiers of membership and this trip makes me rethink the entire value of investing in the program. Initially, the stay started off well but quickly took a turn. I arrived to the room to find hair and candy shoved into the corners of the bed. I called the front desk and was able to moved to a different room only to be greeted with a new room riddled with remnants I have a previous guest in the bed, in the shower, on the phone, and on the floor. When walking into the room I found the backing of an ear ring, then there was an eyelash placed on the room phone, there was hair inside of one of the beds, and hair inside of the shower. I am convinced that the housekeeping staff does not clean the rooms and the guarantee of experiencing a superior clean room in the mist of COVID-19 is not executed. If you are saying in the DC area rethink this hotel or prepare to bring your own cleaning supplies. read more

Okay, here goes. I was deciding between three and four stars, but I'm generally a generous person, so the WMG got the bump. I uploaded many pictures of the room, so you can look at those, too. First, the good: 1- The Concierge lounge. Great staff, great food. By no means are these hors d'oeuvres. For many of us, the CL is our evening meal after a long day of work, and this location makes it work. Sure, they offer the typical cheese/crackers, but they also had a full spread of wonderful vegetables and olives (roasted squash, asparagus, tomatoes, etc), and two hot dishes every night (sometimes a hot dish and garlic bread). Great fare, much appreciated. 2 - Housekeeping! The housekeeping staff was fantastic, and more than earned the cash I left them every day. Please tip your housekeepers! They are doing a rough job! :) 3 - General staff. The valets, front desk staff, etc were all helpful. They also hosted a special dinner for Platinum Elite guests while I was there, which was well catered. 4 - Bed was comfortable, room was clean. Now, the let downs: 1 - I was on the 3rd floor, in the back. Room had no view and was as far away from the elevator as you could get. As a Platinum member with Marriott, I expect better... and I should, considering how much business I bring Marriott's way. 2 - Location isn't great for DC. You're a decent walk away from the mall and the museums. However, there are some decent restaurants in the area. The closest metro is also about a 5 block walk away. That's not terrible, but it's not great for DC. So, four out of five based mostly on the CL and the great housekeeping staff. read more

After deciding to do something special to celebrate my husband's birthday I chose the Washington Marriott. The reservations were simple , the front desk was so accommodating....there were cookies and well wishes and waiting for us at the front desk and a lovely checkin staff who speedily wished him a happy birthday. The room was impeccably clean and after leaving to grab a bite and come back to the room we found a birthday card slid under the door - totally over-the-top and I was extremely impressed. The card contained original signatures of at least 20 staffers and when I called the front desk to thank them - the woman who answered the phone was most cordial and thanked us for choosing them. The bathroom was modern clean, shiny, chrome fixtures and that M club was a room where we could play games enjoy snacks and relax. There is valet parking out front so we didn't have to worry about the DC parking scenario and over all my husband admitted this with some special birthday! I highly recommend the Marriott. read more

Fantastic updated hotel. Room and bathroom was very clean. Room was quiet. Stayed in an executive suite in the "business wing" of hotel. The M Club was incredible--one of the best I've encountered. Open 24/7, and has full breakfast (quality bacon, local jams, good yogurt selection) and good Illy coffee service. Lots and lots of sodas/waters/juices all day long. Close to the foggy bottom metro (5min walk) and easy access anywhere in DC. $2.75 metro ride from DCA. Truly incredible accommodations for the price. Honored elite status with a suite upgrade and late checkout/lounge access. M Club would be worth paying for if not elite. Great stay would do it again. read more

Sunday Breakfast at the Marriott Georgetown was a huge disappointment. Not only is the buffet gone, using the pandemic as an excuse, but the menu is very limited and what I ordered was, frankly, terrible. - oatmeal with fresh berries : was actually cold, probably instant or microwaved, oatmeal with a few raisins. My friend ordered toast and there was no butter, margarine, jelly or jam and waiter nowhere to be found. What a shame, used to have one of the best Sunday buffets in town. Good experience with this Marriott, the room was very modern and decorated well which I liked a lot. We ordered "room service", but they charge you $5 to bring the food to your room. If I'm not mistaken it might actually be a $5 delivery fee per order, but don't quote me. However the food was good. Parking is RIDICULOUS!!! Expect to pay $50 for overnight parking in there garage. We parked on the street and figured if we get a $25-$30 ticket it will be cheaper than parking in the garage! Lol!! But we didn't get a ticket. The bed was comfy, but the pillows were uncomfortable to me, but my husband didn't think so. We were going to an event at Constitution Hall and needed a taxi (nope we don't have an Uber or Lyft account). They have taxis for you and while you wait outside in the "taxi waiting spot" they have an overhead heat lamp which I was so appreciative for because it was cold. read more

The lounge is absolutely the best I've been to in any hotel for what it offers the business traveler: great selection of food and snacks, a lot of beverages, and truly welcoming people running the lounge. The restaurant and bar are well done, welcoming and friendly, clearly the modern Marriott bar and thankfully not like most you'll find. The lobby itself is welcoming and has plenty of character (in a good way) and places to sit and wait. The keyless entry for doors is a great touch (no front desk visit needed). The "Georgetown" in the name of this hotel is a bit deceptive. This hotel is one block east of the Farimont and the Park Hyatt, which I think of as already being within striking distance of Dupont Circle. I've stayed in this area many times and can rattle off the names of four other hotels not far from the Washington Marriott Georgetown where I've laid my head down to sleep. This Marriott, which was recently renovated, strikes me overall as a very good value. In terms of comfort level, it's well above certain Kimpton hotels in the area, though of course nowhere near as nice as the two luxury hotels that I listed as being one block to the west. My room was large, pleasant and welcoming. I especially appreciated the 24/7 availability of the elite lounge, which I was able to access because of the many miles that I logged on United. Most hotel lounges are available only during specified hours; for me, it was a great pleasure to be able to snag an espresso early in the morning before the official breakfast hour. As an elite guy, I also got the enhanced internet service for free. In my room, I measured a download speed of 36.50 Mbps and an upload speed of 69.00 Mb. In the M Club, the speeds were 51.49 Mbp and 71.85 Mbps, respectively. These are amazing numbers for a hotel! By the way, there are helpful USB charging ports placed strategically pretty much everywhere in the hotel. Sweet! The workout room is quite spacious, and it's not over-heated. (That's unusual!) It has a smattering of LifeFitness equipment. The machines are current and they're connected to the internet. I couldn't find any hand sanitizer in the room, but I mentioned this issue to the front desk and am confident that some will be supplied. As I write this review, I'm liking the hotel more and more. After my first night at this Marriott, I booked myself back into the hotel for my next stay in town. The decision wasn't hard at all. read more

We were in town for the Women's Half Marathon and the Marriott not only offered a discount/special rate for runners, but also ran a shuttle service to the start of the race in the morning starting at 4:30am! I had questions about the service when we checked in and the guy at the desk went out of his way to make a phone call in order to answer them. In the morning the front desk woman was amazing and so nice when we went to check out, even wishing me good luck on my race! We had a slight issue with the tv, we made a call to the desk and someone one was up to fix it within 5 minutes. We thought it might be noisy being right above the street but we couldn't hear a thing all night. Overall a great one night stay for these out of towners! Thank you Marriott! read more

I stayed at this Marriott last April during the weekend of April Fools. This hotel is beautiful in the lobby. The decor in the lobby of this Marriott is truly unique and the staff was very friendly. I loved that the hotel is walking distance from the metro and not too long of a walk into Georgetown. I redeemed my night using points that my dad had for my one night at the hotel. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean which made the stay comfortable. I had asked for a room on a high floor and that was not met I was on one of the first few floors and my window faced some air vent that was outside. Staff was very friendly. Lobby was kept clean and neat. The check-in process was very quick and the girl even went though where everything was around the area. Our room was located on the third floor which she said was quieter cause half of the floor is meeting rooms. The elevators were a bit small and one wasn't running so getting upstairs took a bit long. The room itself was clean and well kept. We had two queen beds. No view but hey, who really stays in the room on their vacation. The bathroom was big and also clean. The toiletries were meh... But I usually travel with my own set. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It's 15-20 minutes from everything! Tidal basin, national Park, Chinatown, museums.
