One of the older downtown hotels and it looks like it. Spent the day at hotel for a park summit and it was just ok. Cleanliness was just ok, bathrooms were just ok, meeting room just ok, lobby... well you get it! They need to definitely get it do updates to keep pace with other hotels but definitely not worst place you could stay!! Parking is also expensive... but it's downtown! read more

I am a huge Hyatt fan, however our room was definitely not the cleanest. There was dust on most surfaces and multiple hairs in the bathroom on the floor and sink when we arrived and water damage on the ceiling tiles. Also, 40 dollars to valet for a room that cost 150 a night seems quite steep. The lady who checked us in was very kind, though and the valet gave good suggestions on places to go. read more

I stayed at this hotel for my 5 day stay in Indianapolis. The location is great, but the hotel experience was not so much. Like most others have said: -No warm water in shower all 5 days -Bathroom/shower not cleaned very well -15-20 minute average time to get from room to lobby because of constant traffic jam of the elevators -Very very noisy. This was the most bizarre to me. They had a wedding at the hotel the weekend I stayed, so I am assuming they probably hold weddings here often, the music/people from the wedding were SOOOO loud two of the nights, I couldn't sleep on the 9th floor. The wedding was on the second floor...so I can't even imagine the people on floors lower than me. The bass sounded like I was directly above a club. This went on until 1 in the morning when I finally fell asleep to the sound of the TV. Weddings I've been to are usually over at 11, so I don't know what that was about. Do they just not care about guests wanting to sleep when they book these weddings? Just weird, idk. -Parking your car is ridiculously expensive. I get that we are downtown, but holy cow, give your hotel guests a discount or something. -Upon checking in, they warned me of construction and to keep my curtains shut after showering as there apparently may be workers right outside my window? Interesting. I definitely will be staying elsewhere next time. read more

I was disappointed with m room after hearing all of the good things about the recent renovations. Our bathroom was dirty, the tub had lots of hair in it. The comforter was turned the wrong way and I realized that when the tag was in my face in the middle of the night. There was no actual cover on the comforter, it was laying between two flat sheets, so it was sliding around the whole time. Our room smelled a somewhat smokey despite the fact that I was under the impression we were in a non-smoking room. The overall value for the money was not great and I think the only "renovating" was replacing the carpets and changing out the paint color. The staff was very nice during our brief interactions. Bottom line: I would expect a cleaner, more impressive hotel for the price point. read more

This place put the a/c on for us, they have a wonderful gift shop, a Starbucks, and the best part the valet guys are amazing.

For the price they charge per night, I was not impressed. First, my company paid for my stay and I had an authorization code/ reservation number. The hotel said the needed cc on file for accidentals. I look at my cc statement, they charged me for the full stay, not my company. Management was rude and when I asked them why I was charged, could not give me answer besides, " we'll don't know what happened." Second, I ordered a kale salad with salmon from Pivot, did not have kale or romaine so substituted with spinach. My salmon looked like a chicken cutlet. Third did not have any service to clean my room the 2 days I was there. Fourth, I checked my sheets after I got back the first evening and my sheets were dirty. Fifth, no room service available. A nice robe when u get out of the shower would have been nice, but is not offered. For the price they charge per night, I would not recommend. read more

NOT BIKER FRIENDLY!!! First time stay & Last time! This is a sad excuse for a High Dollar Hotel! I have never been treated so poorly in my life. First I pay 226.00 for 1 night. (We went to motorcycles on Meridian, thought we would stay close... Boy, was that a mistake!)when trying to park our bikes, we asked the valet where we can park. Valet told use we can park down in the garage 35.00 a night, (Thought that was kind of expensive for a guest to be paying.) Valet told us if we could get all three bikes in one spot, they would charge for one spot. In the morning we went to leave. Paid for parking, gate opened got 2 bikes out, 3 bike gate came down on. After getting told by a valet driving by in a car, and I quote "That's what you guys get for trying to park for free." Which is not what happened at all!!! That little comment took me to all out war on these little punks! Yes, I gave them an ear full! NO, I'M NOT SORRY FOR IT! As it winds up, they made us pay for a lost ticket to get the bike out, of the underground hole from hell! The cost of a lost ticket is 53.00 that's right 53.00.... So, 53.00 plus 35.00 = 88.00 for 1 night parking. What a scam, rip of artist, pieces of shit that call themselves a hotel. OH! And their 226.00 room, was so small, no couch 1 chair and had to pay 4.00 a bottle for water that they led you to believe was a courtesy. Not to mention when I pulled back the comforter it had dried blood on it! Which tells me it had not been cleaned, or even check. I will never ever never stay at this Hyatt or any other Hyatt Again! I'm going back to the Comfort Inn, for half the cost, better service, an no ridiculous parking fees! If your smart you'll do the same! Awesome, fun, and romantic. I've been there on two separate occasions with my wife and was never disappointed. I was also just there for a conference, and was surprised by the caliber of the open breakfast buffet. Also, kudos to the lobby bar for having Upland Dragonfly IPA on tap. Got a smoking deal naming our own price on Priceline, so I can't complain TOO much. We did have a big issue where we were charged $10 for a long-distance call that we didn't make. I had called a local number, so I paid for the charge thinking it was just hotel-ridiculous fees, but when we looked at the numbers, one of them was a Nebraska area code. Management reversed the charges, but they didn't credit MY card, they credited my friend's card (he had booked the reservation) so he had to send me a check... ugh, just way more hassle than it needed to be. Parking is pricey as expected (I think $22 overnight) and wifi is not free (although I'm paying twice what I'd pay for a motel with free wifi, of course). I would only stay here again if I got another great Priceline deal. read more

I stayed here this week and had a very pleasant stay. They have completely renovated the hotel rooms and they are very nice. They are still in the midst of some construction at the front entrance which is somewhat annoying, but it truly didn't take away from the experience. The Regency Club was great - amazing view of the capital, friendly staff and great selection of food and drink. If ever I am back in Indy, I will stay here again! read more

This a great hotel on the heart of Indianapolis and has all of the great staff and amenities that one would expect in a $200 room but the standard WiFi is so bad that I never connected to a single website regardless of how long I waited. Why can I get free high speed internet in every Mom and Pop and lesser chain but not here? It casts a poor image upon a potentially great hotel experience. read more

I recently stayed here while attending a conference for work. I really enjoyed my stay. Staff was super helpful, and the amenities were great. It's also very cool that you can walk all the way to Lucas Oil Stadium and not have to take a step outside. It's a bit of a trek, but the fact that I didn't even have to put on my coat and get snowed on was pretty awesome. I'd recommend staying here to anyone visiting Indianapolis. read more

I stayed here a few weeks ago and had an issue with the room I was staying in. All of the staff I dealt with were extremely apologetic and helpful in ameliorating the situation. Specifically, James at the front desk was the first person to help me and convey his apologies. Then the next day I dealt with one of the managers, Rachel, who was amazing and really treated my room situation with sympathy and diligence in rectifying it. She even walked me to my car as a nice personal touch that really made me feel that she cared. Due to how the staff at this Hyatt treated me I give the hotel five stars! read more

I like that they had water stations for the conference goers. I was able to stay hydrated.

Three stars for the room (club level nothing special at a competitive price), five for the staff. They were constantly accommodating. Be it special dietary requirements and additions to/deletions from the room service menu, or special housekeeping needs, these guys were on it. The hotel is centrally-located to everything downtown, has a skybridge connection, and is built in an atrium-style with interior glass elevators. The rooms and property are exactly what you'd expect from a mid-tier business resort. The people pushed this one over the edge and took it from a shrug to an eager recommendation. I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency for a weekend in Indy and to go to the Pacers/Heat playoff game. This hotel is great! It is right downtown in the middle of everything. Only a short walk to most popular destinations. Nothing seemed to be more than 3 blocks away. Staff was very welcoming and accommodating. I had breakfast at the One South Restaurant and though a little pricey, the food was very good. Also, had a few drinks at Level One bar, which is a great place to pregame or have a few more after dinner. I will definitely be making this my place to stay when I visit Indy in the future. read more

I travel often and this is one of my favorite hotels. Rooms are nice. Location is right in the middle of downtown so you have plenty of options for food. They just remodeled the lobby and restaurant. Breakfast buffet is your standard breakfast buffet, but food was good. Gym is fairly small for a large hotel, but it has cardio equipment, dumbbells and around 6 weight machines. Customer service is amazing. The front desk staff always are very friendly and get me checked in quickly. The Regency Club staff are always extremely friendly and willing to do whatever they can to ensure you have a great stay. I've run into managers a few times at the front desk and they always introduced themselves and welcomed me to the hotel. The rooms are always clean and well taken care of. There are plenty of nice hotels to choose from, but the great service is what keeps me coming back. read more

Checked out at 1am and they had my room cleaned and someone else in it by 2 am. I forgot my Apple Watch and I called back right at 2am. The maid that cleaned my room said she only seen an envelope that she turned into lost and found. If she seen the envelope then she moved the watch because it was on top of the envelope. The group I was traveling with had to stay an extra night in Indianapolis. The Hyatt lowered prices due to ice storm and deadly cold definitely a way cool thing to do with life threatening conditions. They also had helped us park our handicapped van even with there lot being full. They when out of there way to help our group find handicapped accommodations on last minute request. We stay at many hotels so giving them above average. We did not like how small the room was and the buffet needed a little more for it to be the price it was. Nevertheless their staff saved them from a lower rating. I would stay there again. read more

BED BUG ALERT - MAY 2017 I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis on May 22nd, 2017 in room 1621. I woke up in the middle of the night with two severe (bright red and hurtful) bites on my back. I didn't think of anything bad at first, so I went back to bed and tried to sleep again. When I woke up in the morning, I was covered in bites all across my body. I had three on my stomach, three on my fingers, one on my wrist, two on my back and one on my leg. I immediately knew these were bed bugs. I told the management right away who asked if I asked if I needed medical attention because of the size and infection of the bites. The management told me they would inspect the room for bed bugs and would move me to a new room. When I got back in the evening, they CONFIRMED THAT THEY FOUND BED BUGS in the room. I had to have all of my clothes washed multiple times, had to purchase new luggage, had to throw away my backpack. I ended up leaving the hotel after the second night as I had again bites in the new room they located me to. Upon arrival at home, I washed the majority of my clothing and all of the bedding to make sure that my apartment didn't get contaminated. It has been a complete nightmare. Just AWFUL; THIS WAS MY WORST NIGHTMARE COMING TRUE!!! However, it doesn't stop here. The hotel submitted a claim to Liberty Insurance Corporation to investigate the bed bug claim. Today, I received a letter from the insurance company stating that there were no traces of bed bugs. HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE IF THE HOTEL CONFIRMED BED BUGS IN THE ROOM??? Should this be considered insurance fraud??? I highly recommend never ever staying at this hotel if you don't want to bring bed bugs to your own home. Not everybody is allergic the same way I am and you can easily bring it with you if you didn't notice the infestation while at the hotel. AGAIN, DO NOT STAY HERE!! Infestations spread easily and if one room has it and they don't exchange the mattress and carpet, you can easily bring the bugs to other rooms and/or your own home. read more

Overall a very good experience. A special shout out to Karin Spychala in housekeeping who was kind of enough to return two diamond necklaces my wife left behind in the room. Karin displayed true character by doing the right thing for the right reasons when faced with a choice of being honest or dishonest. I commend her actions and thankful that she is the one who found the necklaces and returned them. Thank you Karin, your honesty, integrity, and sense of commendable character is admired and appreciated. This Hotel is wonderful! From the central location downtown, to the beautiful interior to the very friendly staff; it is my favorite hotels to stay in! The manager Megan Bernat has been more than helpful whenever I was in need of something. She went out of her way to make my stay comfortable. The only thing I'd advise others about, is that if you tend to get cold the thermostat will not warm up the room (due to the way the air is set up in the summer with a very small heating strip) so request a space heater off right when you arrive. This is a simple and easy fix. read more

Rooms did not look fresh and clean. A couple of the pillowcases were very worn. A family of four was scheduled to check in, yet only towels for three were left in room. My kids were hungry around 8:30. It was raining outside so did not want to go outside. The quick serve restaurants were closed. Called restaurant listed on phone and was told you can't carry out. Went up to restaurant and realized it was very fancy and not what we were looking for. Called room service to see if we could order and pick up food. She said yes and I ordered kids meals. Brought back to our room and the PB & J bread was stale - hard as a rock. How can you mess up PB& J? Too tired to deal with it, so threw it away. After seeing how much that PB&J was on our bill. I complained at checkout and they nicely removed the charge. read more

5 star hotel?? I think not. 1) While relaxing in the lobby for the rest of our guests to arrive, we brought our own alcohol to start the weekend with a drink (Since the hotel bar was CLOSED at 1pm on a Saturday!)...We had asked the concierge for ice. It was going to cost $25 FOR A BUCKET OF ICE!?! The associate who informed us of this ridiculous policy was also no help. We had to take our cups and find an ice machine on one of the hotels floors. 2) We waited 18 minutes for an elevator from our room to our lobby. We spent A LOT of time waiting for the elevator. 3) The hallway light did not work in our guest room. 4) I stood in line at the Starbucks for 23 minutes for a coffee. 5) We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant, One South. First we waited for over an hour for our food (the restaurant was not crowded at this time)...finally when our food came, one of the guest in our party was told that they were out of what she had ordered. Had she known an hour prior, she would've ordered something else. 6) Staff is nice but not at all accommodating or helpful. Very disappointed. read more

Nice atrium and lovel bar and restaurant. Decided to stop at bar and have a few drinks with some colleagues. Noticed two homeless guys hanging out in the lounge seperately as if there was some sort of Panhandler's Convention in town. Turned out that they come to see and visit with one of the bartenders, I believe her name was Tammy. She recommended that we go eat at Harry & Izzy's and her recommendation wasgood. However, we attempted to hit the lounge for a nightcap after dinner but when walked up there was Tammy hunched over the bar talking to another homeless man. I have nothing against the homeless and someone does need to help them out I suppose but I ca't relax and conduct business next to someone who smells and makes me feel obligated to hand him money. Everything else was great and we'll be back if the Hyatt ever decides to prioritize paying guests over hobos. read more

The hotel itself is beautiful and the view from my room was great too. Overall, however, the experience left a bitter taste in my mouth and my bank account wounded. The room I was in was paid for due to a business function, but the front desk requires a credit card on file for any damages; typical hotel policy. It wasn't until later I found out they charged my card a $40 service fee when I was told there was none by the man at the desk. The comforter in my room had yellow stains all along the bottom of it, so of course I called to have it replaced. One of the housekeepers brought up a new, also stained blanket. Not wanting to fight it, I just said thank you. Other than that the rooms are fairly clean. This hotel also does not offer any sort of parking voucher or discount. I paid $41 in parking for my vehicle to sit in the parking garage for a total of 16 hours. And in case room service doesn't suit your needs and you need a snack, the vending machines do not accept cash...at all. You swipe your card and you better have $5 worth of decisions made or else it will time out and you will lose your money. Not to mention the $1.50 service charge the vending machine also charges your card. The pool and hot tub are very small and there was one family letting their children take up the entire hot tub area for 5 hours and they didn't leave until the pool was closed ensuring that nobody else would get to use the area that day. Everything aside, it is a beautiful hotel and it does have a great location. I, however, will probably not be a returning guest. read more

DATED & DISHONEST: Expedia.com & Hyatt can confirm I have stayed at the Hyatt Indy approx 15 times over the last 3 years. My experiences have always been good, sad to say this hotel's rooms are now badly dated, mold in showers room 518 & bedding stunk of urine. We stayed here Christmas night and the night after. On the 26th we went to a movie at 4 pm and returned at 615 pm. The maid had come and cleaned the room. She'd also helped herself to my girlfriends Christmas card which had $250 in it. I reported this to security and hotel management, they took report and confirmed through their engineering department that staff was the only one to enter our room while we were gone. The staff member was off until the 30th and the rooms mgr had to interview her to get back to me with how they would handle this. Gee do you think she'd confess? Yes, thats sarcasm. Expedia.com can confirm I've stayed probably 50 nights in the last few years,using their site,and never tried to make,any type of claim against any hotel, I'm not trying to scam Hyatt for $250. December 31st rooms mgr calls me informs me he interviewed maid and can't conclude she's responsible, Hyatt's insurer will not pay claim as there's no proof, should I be shocked lol, I told the rooms mgr this was exactly what I expected. He wished me a happy new year, what a tool. Like he, as rooms mgr had no authority to make a right out of a wrong over $250. My bad for leaving cash in room, but you'd think a Hyatt should be responsible/safe. Bad karma.. read more

Beautiful hotel. They were doing some painting and updating this week while we were there but they kept it neat and clean. Only downside to the hotel was the size of the pool area. It was tiny! And our key card hardly worked. It took me 10 minutes to get into my room with a handful of stuff and a 6 year old. read more
