Connected to the Indy Convention Center is a huge plus! I booked my room and they gave me the 20th floor on the top! Gorgeous view! I actually booked a room with two double-beds and they gave me a king-sized so they brought a rollaway for free. Small swimming pool and jacuzzi, but decent sized weight and exercise room. Came with a complimentary buffet breakfast! Very good and helpful service. Everything looked so modern and a nice waterfall in the lobby. The lounge downstairs is great too! read more

Stayed here for a conference and had a great time. The conference staff was extremely attentive and the breakfast offerings were quite tasty. The lunch offerings were uninspired. The bar staff was also very attentive, and one of our group had to wait a few extra minutes for a drink order - the server thought it was too long and comped the drink. Had lunch one day at the restaurant and very much enjoyed the salmon dish. The hotel room was comfortable and well appointed. Had a nice view of the IRT. My only beef about the room was the motion activated footlights. There really needs to be an off switch for those! I had to prop pillows in front of them to ensure the room stayed dark all night. As with all conference hotels, valet parking and internet access were ridiculously expensive. This hotel is in a great location in downtown Indy and a short walk to great eateries and attractions. If you need to stay in downtown, I think this is a spot to consider. read more

This place is amazing! Absolutely beautiful and treats their guests with a high level of respect. The only things is the parking fee is $24 to self park and $35 for vallet per day and breakfast isn't included. The Hyatt is centrally located in downtown Indy and easily accessible to many of the restaurants in walking distance. The check in process is fairly quick and staff is friendly. There is a starbucks and subway located within the lobby of the hotel. I've stayed at the Hyatt on a few different occasions due to work trips. This is not my preferred hotel in the Indy area as I find the rooms to be dusty, the bathroom floors are sometimes sticky, and AC can be loud at times. Indy hotels book up very fast because there is some kind of convention every week. So if you know you're coming, book as far in advance as possible. For some reason even though they have 5 elevator banks they seem to take awhile so make sure to give yourself a little extra time or be patient for them. Room service is fairly quick. Every time I have ordered room service it will be delivered in about 20 minutes and they give you a call to notify you that your order is on its way. I do like how the Hyatt does have a healthy menu option for those that want to try and eat well while on the road. A decent size gym with variety of cardio and weight options. They also provide towels and has a water station to refill water bottles if you would like. If you order an UberX from the Hyatt sometimes they get confused as to which entrance to pick you up at but I've had luck telling them to entrance where valet pick up and drop of is. The valet staff is very friendly. Always greeting hello and goodbye and offering to help with bags even if I'm dropped off by uber versus driving a rental. read more

I was in Indy for a conference happening at the Hyatt so I booked a room. First of all, the rooms are pretty small. Not what I had expected. They are clean and well maintained for the most part. The elevators are those glass front kind that hang out in space... I'm afraid of heights... The lobby area is crowded and clumsy - lots of weird columns and tables that break it up in a way that is not at all pleasant nor a good use of space. It was hard to find a quiet place to have impromptu meetings with others at the conference (which, by the way, is the primary reason I go to them!). Parking is outlandishly expensive... If you've ever stayed in the Hyatt Regency on Market Street in San Francisco, you will have a definite deja-vu when you walk into this place - very similar but just a bit more crowded read more

We have always stayed at this hotel when visiting Indy the last visit wasn't that great experience but thought we would give it another chance. Firstly we are a Hyatt rewards member which obviously means nothing anymore. I am a frequent traveler including many trips to Indianapolis. This hotel has very nice rooms and excellent service. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the floor plan. My room was a triangle - spacious bit with a lot of useless space. The lobby had no plan, start, or finish - more like walking thru a mall than being in a hotel. As such, I wasn't sure what was part of the hotel and what wasn't. Not terrible, but not great either. The only part I really didn't like was the parking. It requires tight turns to get into and to maneuver around once inside. It also is not associated with the hotel so you have to pay everytime you go in and out rather than being added to the hotel bill. Also the parking elevator only services the parking garage so a long walk is required to get to the hotel elevator. read more

Stayed her for KDP Convo 2018..We had an issue after the first night and found some bugs. we were quickly moved to another room and all clothes immediately dry cleaned. It took a little time in between and we spoke with Jason Hodges. Johnathan came to pick up the rest of our clothes and William helped with the initial set. I stayed here before back in 2010 and had a decent experience. This time around we were traveling with our infant daughter and managed to get an upgrade to a corner king, which made a huge difference. The extra space in the room was great for fitting all the requisite baby stuff. The most convenient aspect for me was the fridge/wet bar located just outside of the bathroom. It gave me a great spot to prepare bottles without using desk space, and was right next to the bathroom where I washed everything. We have stayed at 3 other hotels since then and this was the best layout for my purposes (albeit unique). Parking here has always been awful. It is ridiculously expensive and there are no in/out privileges. The only other design flaw for us was the pathway from the room to get to the mall (which is connected by a breezeway). The conference center within the hotel occupies the 2nd floor, which is the walkway to get to the mall...there are events which always block the halls, rerouting guests to an escalator. Not stroller friendly. In order to cross over, you have to go down to the lobby, walk across, and up an elevator one story... Despite this minor inconvenience the hotel is centrally located and has always been a good spot to access most of the things we needed in Indy. read more

Clean, efficient, with valet or garage parking (additional cost). If you're working downtown, you may be able to park and forget your car until departure - this is what I usually prefer. This place was renovated for superbowl and it is great. Very clean hotel & rooms. Contemporary design throughout the place and in the rooms. Room service is great, staff is friendly. I stayed here last weekend. I loved the bar in the lounge and the hotel is in a perfect location. Walking distance to anything of importance and valet offers a flat fee of $35.00 for all day in and out use. The only reason I did not mark 5 stars is because there was a guy at the front desk who hastled me about my government ID to book my room at the discounted rate. I had to get my colleague on the phone with him to argue my case. It was sort of ridiculous. Besides that, the hotel was wonderfully clean and pleasant. Great hotel. Service was great. Staff very attentive. The maid came by and knocked on the door to bring me a pen that had been neglected to be placed on the stationary. Location is very convenient to all downtown venues and restaurants. Skywalks connect it to convention center, shopping mall making it easy to access Lucas Oil Stadium or the Field House for basketball games. Don't have to go outside in the rain or cold. Lots of panhandlers and "street walkers" on the street corners outside. Still this isn't the Hyatts fault. Great stay. read more

Website stated that rooms were recently updated - ugh! No!! They will be updated in July 2011 according to the front desk clerk. Big Disappointment! Anyhow, room on the 15th floor was musty and linens were VERY WORN. Not to mention the dingey carpeting. Sheets were thread-bare and fuzz-balled! Ooh! Went back to front desk and asked for a cleaner, more well-put together room. Got a room on 20th floor-smelled cleaner, sheets were crisp. One small problem...toilet smelled badly of urine. Upon further inspection, I discovered dried urine pooled on the base of the toilet! Ooh! Mentioned cleanliness issue to clerk upon check out. He was very apologetic, and offered to add reward points to my account. I accepted-what else could I do at this point, right??!! I have been a dedicated Marriott customer in the past. I think I'll go back to staying with the chain that knows excellent service, while providing great service with super value for the price. My room was clean, quiet and very comfortable. The service at check-in was prompt and attentive and anything anytime I asked, the staff greeted the request as if they were personally happy to be hosting me. My favorite thing though was to have one of the employees of this Hyatt proudly stating to me and my coworkers that she has been with this hotel for nearly 20 years this year and loved it and added that she had requested this location because it was the best. Nice TV's but all channels are analogue. So you have a bigger TV but 2001 signal. Sure miss the crisp digital channels available elsewhere. Nice hotel, good staff, but stupid things like this need to be challenged by any guest. The maids all know the problem, but the mgnt won't do anything about it. read more

A colleague and I stayed at the Hyatt on a Wednesday and Thursday for a conference that took place at the hotel. Rooms: neat and clean. Very modern decor, but visually busy. Extremely comfortable beds. We stayed in a two queen room that were each the size of a full size bed. There was not a safe in the room to lock up your wallet and jewelry. Exercise facility: state of the art equipment. Cool towels for after working out. Sauna. Pool. Hot tub. (And not overly chlorinated). Towels at the indoor pool to use,so you don't need to bring towels from your room. Locker rooms, so bring your padlock!! Showers in the locker room area. Staff: Very attentive. Excellent food. Chicken taco bar and plated steak meals were served. Fresh fruit, rolls, and oatmeal, along with beverages were served for breakfast at the conference provided by the hotel. Valet parking: polite and helpful staff. $34 parking per day. However, on our last day we had to get our car by 2:00 unless we wanted to be charged another $34. Our conference went until 3:30. We got our car on our lunch break and were directed to go two blocks to another, cheaper parking ramp. It was full and so were the next two were full. We ended up parking at another ramp for $15 and walking 3 blocks back to the hotel. In total, it took 30 minutes to move our car and get to our played lunches, that were waiting for us, late. I wished the hotel would let you park until 4:00 or when conferences are done. It was inconvenient. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The polite and helpful staff was the highlight. I even requested the plated steak to please be cooked to well done and accommodated with pleasure. They were serving at least 500 people. read more

For a "4 star" hotel the service was garbage. First my "complimentary" wireless internet wasn't setup and I needed a phone call to have it "activated" and the code they gave me stopped working before check out. When we returned to our room for the second night our stay after 6pm the room was not made up. Not even looked at by the staff. I called the desk and they seemed not to care the offered to do it now, it's kind of late for that, I wanted to take a nap in the bed. I could talk to the housekeeping manager if I wanted. Neat. I had to ask them to send up fresh towels and made it know that I was unhappy. They made no efforts to change make it right. So they clearly do not care about my money and they won't be getting it in the future. Which is a shame since I stay in Indianapolis 3+ times a year. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience here! First our toilet had POOP in it! We called someone to clean it up and they STILL DIDNT. Got no offer for a different room or any kind of accommodation. The printer for the "business center" doesn't even work. Pool and hot tub are run down. Jets in hot tub don't even work anymore. Absolutely would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Came down to Hyatt's restaurant for my 20th birthday dinner! First of all we made reservations on the "opentable" app and apparently they had never gotten that reservation and on top of that the valet people had basically robbed us while we were having dinner!! We had taken our Gwagon to dinner expecting first class service and respect!Surprisingly our Gucci and Louis Vuitton glasses, an MCM wallet with an ID, passport card, credit card, and cash were stolen, and our car registration was all over the passenger seat. Our things were gone through, stolen, and thrown! We had such an amazing dinner first class service there, and then we ended the night like this unfortunately, very very disappointed!! read more

While the service is still not perfect, the hotel got a facelift. I do like the new lobby and bar downstairs. The bartenders and cocktail waitresses are top-notch. The manager also seems to be on top of things. He personally grabbed me a complimentary beer from the bar. That was cool. Most of the renovations are done, so the noise is now minimal. Overall, I recommend the place if you have Hyatt loyalty points. Some of the other hotels are a bit nicer, but there are definitely some great aspects to this location. If you're looking for a place to crash during Gen Con and your #1 priority is location, the Hyatt is a good choice. It is positioned between the ICC, Union Station, and most of the restaurants. And there's a mini-fridge. But if you're planning to actually spend time in your hotel room, try someplace else. The room is small for a luxury hotel. They have only two electric outlets, near the bed rather than the desk. The elevators are slow. The plumbing is old. And even on a high floor, you can hear all the city noise. read more

Here in Indy for a baseball convention (ABCA). I live that there are so many hotels, including this one, that are connected via skywalks and the convention center, especially in early January when it's been -7 in the morning... and this is coming from the chick from Alaska. My bed is comfortable, which hasn't been the my experience for most of my travel for the past year. (Non Hyatt properties) Room was nice, clean, large TV, with a sunset view. I'm on the 10th floor and it's pretty quiet with the exception of the occasional siren. I know the bar downstairs has been full in the evening, but I haven't heard that noise. My favorite part has been the fitness center, lots of machines! I'm impressed! There's a pool and hot tub too... I'd stay here again and it makes me interested in how other Hyatt's and Hyatt Regency's compare. read more

I don't even know where to start. Prior to checking in we had requested a room on a high floor with a nice view. They put us on the 20th floor and the view was of the JW Marriott. I think that was a sign that we should of stayed there instead. The room was small and dusty. There were crumbs on the table when we got there. The blanket on the bed had some small rips and the fitted sheets had small specks of blood on them, which I didn't notice till the following morning because it was dark when I got into bed. There is no fan/vent in the bathroom so when you shower everything is wet. Parking is $40 for valet and I think $30 to self park. The pool is small, it looks bigger in the pictures they posted (we didn't get in). We also noticed people who are not staying in the hotel can easily just walk right in through the side entrance. The only good thing was check out was noon not 11 which is posted on their website. But now that I think of it, is it really a good thing?! read more

Shocking how dirty the Hyatt was! My husband and I wanted to get a way for the weekend and thought we would like to stay at the Hyatt. We have stayed there before and enjoyed our stay. This time...not so much. The staff is wonderful, they all want to know what they can do to make our stay better. Once we got into our room I noticed it was dusty, not just a little dusty...VERY DUSTY! Bathroom was discussing. Toilet seat was broken, hair on the ceiling, and in the sink. I had to clean the sink myself cause I get grossed by the thought if someone's hair where. I'm going to brush my teeth. I brought it up to front desk. They had someone fix the toilet seat and they gave us a free breakfast. Nice but what about cleaning the room! I went down later and explained that I have allergies to dust an yet no one cleaned. Saturday house keeping came into our room and fixed our bed and somewhat replaced towels, but the hair was still on the ceiling and the dust was still everywhere. See I wrote on the desk, TV, table, nightstand, headboard and pictures/frames "Dust Me!" Could not miss it if you were going to clean properly. Later that evening to spoke with who said was management and once again said he was going to call housekeeping to clean the problem. Few hours later we got back to the room and NOTHING was done. My husband normally never complains this time he did. We must have explained the story to 6 different people at the Hyatt about the cleanness of the hotel. Very disappointed in the lack of effort. They did give us a free night, for the next visit... Ha ha that is a joke cause I do not think there will be a next time. I could have stayed across the way at the Westin for less and they updated the entire hotel. We paid more for a hotel that was not clean!!! read more

The Hyatt Place has a great downtown location that allows you to walk to many places. However, there is no breakfast. The room was comfortable but a little too quiet. We had a room with two full sized beds, which I believe was slightly cheaper than a king room. read more

priceline this stuff baby. for 1/5 the list cost of the room, i had a great stay. room was clean (save note below...), gave me a high floor, valet parking was steep-ish at 28 (get your car out before 2pm next day, with in/out priv's) but on par with any metropolitan city center hotel that's not one of the big 5, fitness center was nice and airy and looked out on the street, atrium that was connected with the office space next door was an interesting touch. bed was comfortable, very close to tons of things downtown including dozens of restaurants and places to explore. i requested nonsmoking and they said there's only a total of 6 (or 8?) smoking rooms anyway (for you smokers out there). there was one major cleanliness issue though. a.k.a. don't shower with the bathroom door open, such that it fogs up the window in the bedroom, showing the stigmata of an uncleaned, previously-used-for-sex window (read: hand prints in the top corners, long hair/head-prints being rubbed side to side in the middle, and roundish spread of unfogged area towards the bottom = gross, but i wasn't rubbing myself on any windows so i just stayed away from that area) overall pretty good deal. those small charges rack up - but it's better than staying way out of town at a crappy motel for a similar base cost. i'm okay paying a (very small) premium for some nicer amenities. read more

Have stayed here a number of times over the years. They seem to have remodeled the rooms. Everything was very nice. There's a Starbucks and a Subway in the building, wonderful when you want a snack of a fancy coffee and don't want to go outside. Nice fitness center. The building is now connected to the Arts Garden, which means, if the weather sucks outside, you can walk over to the Circle Centre Mall or the Weber Grill without even going outside. read more

I am getting frustrated with all the cost cutting even the major hotel chains are doing trying to increase their bottom line, but housekeeping is not the place to cut, and it's clear this hotel has. Previous write ups mentioned the poor internet connectivity, and I had the same issues. Previous write ups mentioned housekeeping issues, and sadly three months after a nightmare bedbug post, I see serious housekeeping deficiencies. I stayed in room 1003, and had extensive black mold growing around the tub/tile junction. This could be fixed easily with an extra five minutes of proper housekeeping, but it's clear that is not a priority. On a room with a max rate of $600/night I find this clearly unacceptable. read more

At least the staff members were nice and provided useful directions -Not the cleanest: stains on linens and hair on bathroom floor and ceiling (also weird, but probably due to the moisture in the bathroom from the poor ventilation). Also, one day we were gone from about 9:30am to 9:30pm and no one came to clean the room. -horrible room service: yes, it came within half an hour, but it wasn't good (not that I expect room service to ever be great; but we ended up not eating most of it. Might as well have flushed $100 down the toilet). The eggs on the egg Benedict were cold. Not just cool from sitting, but cold as if they came out of the fridge. The Canadian bacon was unappetizing. No cream came with the coffee even though it was requested. No condiments. Just a total failure. Do yourself a favor and walk to one of the many places nearby to eat. -weird office views from the elevator (so maybe this isn't really a con, just weird to me). It would be nicer if there was actually something nice to look at from the glass elevators that people in their offices or some decor in other areas of the hotel other than the front desk area. -no locks on bathroom doors. It may look old on the outside but inside you will find a beautiful, modern hotel in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. This place has what you expect from a 4 star hotel - comfortable rooms, fine dining and a decent sized indoor pool. One thing that bugged me was the self parking. I expect it to be pricey in the city. But I don't expect a tiny space with little room to move. Whoever designed the underground parking did not do a good job. Get past that, though, and it's a fine place. read more

Location is good, building is nice, rooms are Hyatt quality. HOWEVER, the Internet connection is no where near Hyatt quality! I stayed here 4 nights, not only they charge 9.95 for one day Internet or 39.99 for 5 days. But the connection is worse than 16k modem. How could Hyatt failed so miserably in this aspect. Was here for a business conference in early November, and this is one of the better conference hotels I've been at recently (as of late, it seems like I've been at Marriotts and not having good experiences). Even with the hotel full of conference-goers, there was not noticeable hallway noise so the rooms seem to be reasonably soundproofed. The room itself was comfortable, looked to have been updated and renovated within the last few years, and the hotel overall was always well-kept and clean in the public areas. The convenience of having a Starbucks in the lobby is always nice and there is a great variety of restaurants in the area surrounding the hotel at all different price points, so you can really choose what kind of food you want and how much you want to spend and you shouldn't have a problem at all finding a place that fits your needs. I ate lunch one day in the hotel restaurant and they do a pasta bar lunch special for a reasonable price. Only complaints are minor. Everyone around me commented on the elevator doors - they were barely staying open and then slamming shut. You had to zip in and out of the elevators like The Flash to avoid having them slam shut on you. It was a little strange. Also, the heating/AC unit in my room was doing this thing where it would turn on for only a few minutes, shut off for a few, then back on; rinse, lather, repeat. It was noticeably annoying when I was trying to fall asleep, so I finally just shut it off totally and hoped the temperature would be comfortable and luckily it was. Finally - yet another 4-star place that doesn't have free WiFi in the rooms. WHY???? This is the bane of my traveling existence. It is ridiculous that I have to go sit in the lobby to get my work done when these hotels are catering to a work clientele. The lobby was always filled with people using the free Wifi available there, because who wants to pay $10 a day for what I understand was pretty unreliable service in the rooms? read more

I have never been in a hotel, or any high rise for that matter, and had to wait 5-10 minutes for an elevator. There is a severe shortage of elevators for the size of this hotel. Staying for a conference. Parking is over the top in price. In general, it appears fairly well kept, but it's the details that make a place. Checking in, the bedding was still all feathers; there was a very nasty deposit of something on the glass of a picture. There was a house keeping staff close by who I asked to clean it, and I was told that it wasn't her room, and I would need to report this to the front desk. I also found nail clippings on the carpet and bedside stand. I informed the front desk in the a.m., but there was no resolution. read more
