Community events at the Signal Hill location are open to non members and are very well attended by friends/neighbors of the regulars. "The Yard" as the Signal Hill location is known, is outside weather permitting - where else can you do that in SoCal? Classes - Push, pull, cardio. Rinse, repeat. 12 week blocks that allow you to measure progress. Enough variety so you don't get bored, but consistency for hypertrophy and strength gains. Challenging and fun classes, Hybrid house has completely changed how I view working out. I went from someone who hated the gym, to planning my classes the week before and eagerly wanting to attend. I love this place so much. As a beginner, I would have no idea where to start or what to do. But because the classes are intentionally kept small, you get directives, guidance and tips to adjust your form from the instructors. Speaking of instructors, they are all FABULOUS. All are athletes in their own right, they are encouraging, helpful, fun to be around, LOVE THEM ALL. All the classes are pre-planned and build upon each other, I have seen so much progression in my strength and mobility, and at the end of the 12 week training block we culminate with Grit Week where we push ourselves to test our Personal Records. I've been a member of Hybrid House for almost four months now. I joined after doing one workout with coach Brent and loved how he encouraged me to push beyond my comfort zone. When I joined in January, I thought I was simply joining a new gym, but I've gained so much more than a new gym. The owner, Timme, has created a community unlike anything I've ever experienced in my fitness journey so far. I've taken classes at three other well-known group fitness gyms (two national franchises and one local company), but nothing compares to the family and sense of belonging that I've found at Hybrid House. Hybrid house has totally changed my life. It sounds dramatic but it's true. I started in my 40s after not exercising for two decades. I was weak and only strong enough to do the bare minimum during the day. I couldn't even run. Now I'm running 8ks and lifting heavy things. The amazing Hybrid coaches played a huge role of getting stronger and faster. They COACH you. They help with form, offer alternatives, tell you to add more weight...seriously irreplaceable. Great place to workout!!! Since Covid Ive been bouncing around trying to find a gym that was the right fit for me, and I think I finally found my new home! I have only been a member for a couple of weeks, but I have loved my experience so far! I like the variety of different classes on the schedule and no matter what class I take the workouts never seem to disappoint. The coaches and other members are super friendly and made me feel comfortable right away. I have been searching for a new gym for years. I injured my back 3 years ago and took a hiatus. Since then I've been searching for a new community that has a friendly community and where the coaches have knowledge in their field. This place is it! I have coached with Timmie, Jacek, Kora and Dr. Mike (yes they have an in-house chiro too). The members are super friendly and the coaches are passionate and dedicated. Anytime I approach something that I'm unsure my back can handle they always have modifications and they are always checking to make sure we have proper form. I can not recommend this place enough. I love the ever changing workouts (keeps its fun) the jungle gym atmosphere and I am excited to get my strength back in their highly reputable weight room. Annnnd the price is super reasonable. I have been training with Timmi Brann for almost 2 years. I would have never thought I would stick with working out for so long, but her energy and her programming are amazing. Classes are easily adapted by the coaches for all levels- but you will work your ass off. You may even want to quit after a few classes because they push you hard- but if you stick with it, you will reap the rewards. They have weight training, obstacle training, and an amazing running program. Two years ago I was was stressing over competing a Spartan sprint- this year I hit the Spartan podium in my Age Group. Can't say enough good things about this place. Great workout, great coaches and everyone is really friendly. I'm always a little intimidated when I try out a new gym, but I felt immediately accepted by the staff and the regulars. I found this gym to specifically train for Spartan type races and it has really helped and knocked minutes and burpees off all of my races. And where else in southern California can you train and be coached by one of the top Spartan professionals in the entire world?!?! This gym is so amazing!! I'm not even sure where to start. The workouts are awesome!! They will definitely push you to your own limits. The best part is whether your limits are beginner or advanced you are pushed to that level. And if you're a beginner there is no need to feel intimidated. The coaches, as well as the other members with more experience, are always there for you. I have learned to do so many things that I never thought I would be able to do. I can climb a rope!!!
