(I'm in my 40s, have had 4 kids and have some weight to lose.) I have sciatica and other issues that they find ways to work around and build muscle so that in some cases the problem areas actually go away all together. Going here for Trigger Points and cupping has made a night and day difference in the neck, shoulder and back pain I have from stress, sciatica and my sitting desk job. Now, I've been working with Jeff for a year and have loved my time with him. He's incredibly knowledgeable and personable. I shared my goals with him, and he worked to build a specific plan, with dynamic trainings, to help achieve those goals. Jeff is encouraging and patient, but also pushes me and holds me accountable (although I don't always do as many sit ups as he'd like me to!) It's been awhile since I've consistently visited a gym. I used to be pretty fit back in the day, but different life circumstances held me back from continuing to train they way I like and need. I'm not a 24 Hour Fitness person. Walking into a standard gym, I pretty much just stand there, look around, and think, "Meh. What to do first. *yawn*" I used to want to fight in a ring, but those days are long gone. Instead, I've tried numerous other activities and exercises: aerial arts, fire hoop, pole dancing, cycling, barre, rowing, crossfit, etc. Nothing has really stood out as something I'd want to do long-term. Some of these are also really fun, but don't provide the full-body workout that I desire. I really like Torey's gym. Every day is different and challenging. There's heavy bag work, cardio, weights, circuit training, weird circus ball exercises. Sometimes we're inside and sometimes we're out. It's never boring, and I walk away sore on a weekly basis. I've been coming here regularly for the past three weeks, and I've already dropped weight and seen positive changes in my body shape and endurance levels. More than that, it's an atmosphere that keeps me coming back, and that's one of the most important elements of all. Torey has classes every day (except Sunday), does personal training, will give you a physical assessment upon request, and can even suggest a meal plan if desired. He seems to really care about everyone in his facility, and there are ladies here who have been around for years and years, which is a testament to his dedication and demeanor. Anyways, from my undergrad experience, the rock climbing wall was one of the best to get people into rock climbing. Secondly, the indoor running track provides space to the overall gym giving it a less crowded environment, and the equipment provided was well utilized. You often had people hogging the weight section so there was never really a good time to use that. The yoga and pilates classes or individual courses were offered but it never seemed to be around when a majority of students were available to use it. I really liked the Robeks that was on the first floor. I'm not sure if it's there anymore, but it's nice to had a large indoor seating area to eat before you actually went into the gym to study.
