The discipline that's shown up in my life because of this place has transformed me. It's shown me that I can do hard things. Things I never thought I was capable of. I've tried so many different workouts. I love Pilates. But there's something about hitting the bag in a dark room, locked into my own zone, surrounded by other people pushing themselves, that feels different. The straight boxing days and the weightlifting days have both made a huge impact on me. When I first started, I felt disconnected from my body. I was carrying COVID weight and honestly didn't feel like myself. Now I'm the person at the 6am or 7am class, and people ask me if I box outside of here. That alone makes me so proud. The community is supportive. There's no ego. We push each other in the best way. I would tell anyone in my life that this is something worth trying.

The…read moretrainer never introduced himself, in fact I had to ask his name after we had started the class (it was Angel). He never asked my name. Never gave me a tour or explained their philosophy. Never asked if I had any health issues that might need to be considered in a work out (which I do). Never offered any advice or assistance during the workout unless I specifically asked, and even then the input was the bare minimum. I would never go back. I have now joined a different gym where they did a health assessment, and the trainers are right there guiding me, recommending which weights are appropriate for me, and giving feedback in real time.
