They later had another guy show up once we got to the destination, and he worked really hard as well, but the other two continued to slack and blamed me for their slowness, even though everything was packed in bins and was made super easy for them. I spoke with the manager and was gaslighted, and they refuse to leave my home until I paid the extra money. I felt very intimidated and I am overall extremely displeased with this company. We confirmed a move date (a Saturday, busiest day of the week for moving) and waited all day for the crew to show up. They never came. ASM said they had truck problems and several staff no-shows. We had phone calls with several agents, and changed the move to the following Monday. The last agent promised make us top priority. Thankfully we weren't under pressure to a hard deadline. On Monday the crew showed up right on time. They were skilled, careful, and unusually speedy. We were loaded up and moving into our new space within the hour. Everyone of the guys were friendly, communicative, professional, and best of all, respectful. There weren't any work breaks, lazy team members, or excuses. Overall, it was a great experience for us, despite the delay and having to work out the details with several different agents, and I'm happy to endorse All My Sons for our move.

Worst Moving Company I've Ever Dealt With…read more This was the first moving company my partner and I have ever hired, and unfortunately, the experience was incredibly stressful and disappointing. From the very beginning, communication was a mess. The company called from multiple different phone numbers, making it nearly impossible to keep track of who was contacting us. On top of that, I never spoke with the same representative twice, so I constantly had to repeat myself. I reached out several times leading up to our move to confirm details, yet I didn't receive a clear response until just a day or two before moving day. We were moving from a two-bedroom apartment to a one-bedroom apartment within the same apartment community, just a different building. We did everything possible to make the movers' job easy. Earlier that week, we packed and wrapped over half of our belongings ourselves and moved everything into the living room for easy access. Our largest items included a desk, a king-size bed, three TVs (already taken down and wrapped), framed degrees (already removed, wrapped, and boxed), a three-piece sectional that had already been disassembled, and four chairs. Every tote and box was lined up so the movers simply had to carry everything to the truck. AMS classified our move as a partial move, so we were told it should take approximately 3-4 hours. Instead, it took 8 hours. We were also told we would receive a call an hour before the movers arrived. That never happened. When the movers arrived, they didn't introduce themselves, although we eventually learned their names later. One mover, Aiden, worked hard throughout the day and was efficient. Unfortunately, the other mover, Devontay, was the complete opposite. His carelessness caused significant damage to our belongings. He broke two storage totes, busted open the box containing our framed degrees, damaged several picture frames, and scratched multiple pieces of furniture. After unpacking, we also discovered that both of our computer monitors had been completely destroyed. I only realized boxes and totes had been damaged because I looked inside the truck myself. When I asked Devontay what happened, his response was simply, "Oh yeah, I dropped it. My bad." That level of disregard immediately made me lose confidence in the move. Throughout the day, I called AMS five separate times requesting replacement movers and a new driver, since Devontay was the only one with a CDL. Eventually, another individual arrived but only helped briefly before disappearing. During that time, Aiden was left doing most of the work by himself, with my partner stepping in to help. Aiden never stopped working, and I genuinely appreciate his effort despite the circumstances. Roughly two hours later, after a great deal of back-and-forth communication, the operations manager and several employees came in on what I was told was their day off to finish the move. I do want to acknowledge that the operations manager was professional, sincerely apologized, and did everything he could to address our concerns and get the move completed. I appreciate his efforts. However, that does not erase the overall experience. We were told on moving day that a damage claims form would be sent to us. Instead, I had to call multiple times over the following week just to receive it, and it wasn't sent until more than a week after our move. Overall, this was an exhausting, frustrating, and costly experience. Between the poor communication, damaged belongings, delays, and lack of urgency in resolving the issues, I cannot recommend this company to anyone. Do yourself a favor--save your time, money, and unnecessary stress by choosing a different moving company.

Our 3 man crew showed up on time as scheduled. The were very professional, and experienced. Knew what they were doing and carefully wrapped our stuff well to protect it . We had 6 rooms and a garage with plenty of stuff. They worked hard and fast. It's worth noting that they had to carry all our furniture and boxes down the driveway to get it in the truck. The rate for the 3man team was $165/hr plus $165 travel fee for the 30 minute trip from Ooltewah to Cleveland. Everything went great and it took 4 1/2 hrs all in. I would recommend this company!

I will say we had so much negativity going on every step of the way due to issues beyond my control, and had he handled the many issues that came up with simple kindness and understanding, I wouldn't be writing this review. But even though he pitched in a couple extra hours to help out with the unpacked items/chaotic day, the day was one of the worst days of my life. It was also the worst move I've ever experienced. During his on-site estimate, he bragged about how he is working on setting up a fund to help one struggling citizen per year by cutting their moving costs down to nearly nothing or nothing at all. *Eyeroll...Believe me when I say our family couldn't be the ones any more deserving of this consideration. Neil's crews, both the two packers the day before, and the three movers the day of the move were the only semi-positive thing to mention about this move. Most, but not all of them, went the extra mile to help me, as I was in extreme distress on moving day, due to their chaos, as well as my own personally. At one point we were having a medical issue and 911 had to be called. I will also tell you they will park their moving truck far from your place so extra walking to the truck to load your belongings will take extra time. Neil claimed this job ran overtime because it was raining but every time I went outside to check the progress, most of the guys were standing around discussing who knows what and were not moving! Not only was the final bill almost 1/3 more than the highest quote for the job, Neil still to this day refuses to send me a keyed copy of the actual move receipt. I did get the receipt for the packing, but not the move to storage the second day. I ended up having to rent a different storage unit ONE extra mile from the original one I was told to rent by Neil. This sudden change of venue was out of my control. At the last minute I was told by the moving company the size of the unit I had on reserve was not big enough. The storage place didn't have anything available in the same size I had on hold, only huuuugeeee units. Ofc. 3 movers and I waited over 40 minutes for the manager to unlock the door for me to register WHILE I also had an UBER WAITING to take me to our hotel. She knew we were on our way because the moving guys went to talk to her ahead...on my dime. When Terry finally came to the office after multiple phone calls from both me and two of the movers, she was flippant, condescending and downright rude. She unlocked the door without making eye contact or a simple 'hello'. Her behavior was odd considering the wait. No apology. I consulted with the movers. They suggested storage one mile farther to a unit that could accommodate my belongings. I told her when I left that I didn't like her altitude! Neil states they will not pack and move the same day, that he packs only the day before the move. Moving boxes cost $2.75 each despite the size. Ha, what a joke boxes became. Beware of that because it's a lot added to the cost of the move on top of the hourly rate. Even though a pre-move visual inventory was done and the cost estimate for boxes was included, it did NOT include packing paper, half of which was provided by me. Then they don't show up with enough boxes to pack everything on 'the pack day'. As a result, this forces them to finish packing the day of your move, which in turn turns into...more hours to be billed. They pack your clothes in black garbage bags!! and then tell you you don't want to pay for wardrobe boxes. As an example, a failing I take issue with, the evening they packed, I had to open a sealed box for toilet paper. You should have seen my shocked face when I looked in the box. I saw my pricey hotel magnifying make-up mirror loose in the box, not even wrapped in packing paper at all. Other glass bathroom items in that box also were not wrapped in paper and the mirror is heavy, so this was a disaster waiting to happen. There were various items they tried to buffer with rolls of toilet paper, and decorative plastic items are most likely going to be shattered and smashed. It's a good thing I had some packing paper left of my own, and I did the best I could with what little I had. The fact remains I paid for full packing and shouldn't have had to do that. These are just a few glitches. There are just too many more to mention but rehashing it all won't change anything. Even with a 10% senior discount, it cost me $1,300.00 for this company to pack a one-bedroom, one-bath apartment, plus load and unload it into a ground-level drive-up storage unit. Use this moving company only if you like to be taken to the cleaners.

But after the job, I was blindsided with a final bill nearly double that -- over $1,800 -- without any real-time communication or approval from me during the move. There was no transparency. I was never informed as the charges climbed. On top of that, the movers showed up completely unprepared, with nothing but a single Allen wrench and no tools or proper equipment. I had to hire outside help just to finish the job. Their disorganization directly caused the delay, not me. Several of my belongings were damaged during the move, including irreplaceable furniture. I submitted a claim and was promised a $449 settlement. But instead of issuing a refund, Bellhop applied it as a credit toward the inflated bill -- and only if I agreed to lift my credit card dispute. That's not a resolution -- that's coercion. I offered in good faith to pay the original quoted amount, which I believe was generous considering I had to finish the move myself and cover the damages. Bellhop refused to compromise or take accountability. If you're looking for a company that values professionalism, preparation, and fairness -- I strongly recommend you look elsewhere. My experience was stressful, expensive, and completely mishandled from start to finish.

Bellhop's communication is atrocious. They are extremely responsive when you are working to schedule a move and then it falls apart. I schedule a cross-country move with Bellhop, and at 5:30am on the morning that my 2800 mile move was set to begin, I received a text message saying that the move was being rescheduled to the next day. We had a flight booked that night and rescheduling (especially with 3 hours notice) was not an option. After an hour of trying to get a hold of customer service, I managed to talk to someone about pushing the move to early afternoon as long as we would still make our 10pm flight. The move was reconfirmed for 4pm. I followed up several times throughout the day, eventually learning the truck was now delayed and would be arriving at 5pm. This delay was not communicated to the assigned loading team who showed up to my home at 3pm. At 5pm, the truck was nowhere to be found, I had no contact information, and Bellhop's customer service was now Closed for the night despite my move not being completed for the day. After tears and an hour of panicked calls, emails, texts, etc., the truck showed up at 6pm. It just so happened that I received a call from a Bellhop team member within 2 minutes of the trucks final arrival to tell me they had arrived. I did not hear any updates from Bellhop over the 4 days that the moving truck made its way across the country, nor confirmation that the unloading team was assigned and on schedule to meet the truck. In the end, Bellhop blamed our truck driver for being uncommunicative instead of taking any responsibility for the terrible coordination. For over $11,000, I expected much better service and to avoid a total moving panic for once... guess that was a lofty dream.
