Update - I'm still finding stuff that shouldn't have come here and should have gone with my mom on the other truck. I have been thinking about how to write this review for a couple of weeks. They had two teams and two trucks when they arrived and seemed competent. The moving team from TN to VA was decent. The moving team from TN to KY was downright awful, and the overall experience was so stressful. Scott was NOT clear about the cost, and their team got away with it because the person that set everything up was not the person who was there when the movers went over the information. Be careful; they are sneaky about their pricing. Save yourself the headache and hire a couple of people from FB or Craigslist to do the manual labor and get yourself a U-Haul. My aunt recommends Two Men and a Truck because they do a great job. Two Men and a Truck picked up furniture and other items I brought from TN to KY to take to her house here in KY. I would not recommend this company unless 1. You are okay with being charged hourly for a team that moves at a glacial pace. 2. If you do not mind your belongings being broken and 3. You have an EXACT number of items like boxes and furniture you are taking. Seriously, who packs a truck like this? See the photos! I also helped them unload to try to move things along faster... I did not start taking pictures until I realized more than one item was damaged/broken. I did not get photos of the three shattered glasses in the box. They probably put something heavy on top of it even though it said fragile. 1.Grandmothers' jewelry box - I could hardly get it open because the drawers were open inside of it. It got scratched up because they DID NOT wrap it. When I managed to get it open, a bunch of stuff fell on the floor, and everything inside is a MESS! 2.Decoration - some of the wings snapped off 3.Two pictures - one picture was missing a frame, and both were missing glass. Regarding the one missing glass, I even asked the mover, "Uh, didn't this have glass?" and he lied straight to my face, "No, ma'am". How do I know this had glass? It used to be my mom's, and she gave it to me. I have spent 20 some odd years staring at it. 4. Side table leg - poorly handled and ripped off AT my property. The screws no longer stay in place, and I'll have to replace this piece of furniture. 5. The floor return was a little bowed in, but the team completely crushed it, and I had to replace it right away because my daughter would have injured herself on it the way they left it. 6.King-size Tempur-pedic mattress - dirty from not being covered 7. Grandfather clock - I cannot get it back together. It should NOT have been taken apart. It should have been securely packed so that the insides were padded and could not move. 8. Small hand carved clock - made by my great uncle who is no longer with us. I personally bubble wrapped it. They had to have just been tossing my shit in the truck. The original quote was under 10k. The total was almost $13k. Their team came to move two people from one house to two separate locations. The owner may care about his company, but the movers do not. Remember that you're getting the movers, not the person on the phone selling you their company. This is what their website says: "We understand that relocating can be a very stressful process. At Making Moves, our priority is reaching the highest level of satisfaction possible -- for you, our valued customer. They refuse to replace items that were damaged in the move or return phone calls. Very poor business!

They Started off the move by driving their moving truck into the neighbors ditch and possibly damaging their property. Had to be towed out of the ditch. After arriving an hour after the time they said they would be their (due to driving into the ditch) that's when it really was not a good move. Mattresses were not protected and were place into the dirty truck and got dirty (new mattresses) Multiple items broken due to not securing boxes correctly on truck. Items were packed in boxes carefully. Lamp shades busted. Washer and dryer not connect at new place. Boxes mostly left on first level and not carried upstairs where they belong. Kitchen boxes clearly labeled placed in master for example. Hardwoods scratched at home while one man dragging furniture across floor without a helper. Took over an hour to disassemble crib. Lots of time wasted standing around. Move took 5.5 hours (previous move took under 3 hours with same amount of items) Owner offered $200 refund to silence my bad review, yet I decided to place it anyways. FYI, it is non-bindable for them to say I can't leave a bad review based on services I was rendered. Way more than $200 damages. Owner proceeded to tell me that I was "holding his head over a barrel" because I was a cheap person to extort him for a refund. Well, I have pictures to back it. Some posted here. Not all inclusive of moving issue. Owner talked to me very unprofessionally. I was extremely courteous to the moving crew and should've not left them a tip, but my wife insisted. I moved with Southeast Moving & Storage last time and had zero issues, which the owner trash talked the other company. Edit: As you can see, the owner stoops to name calling. We had all our items packed. But a mattress needs wrapped with a plastic cover, and it was requested! I never mentioned anything about packing, that was done to a T. And it was a two bedroom and an office with a lightweight desk. So yeah, I have the receipt to prove Southeast job was on par. Simply find another company. I believe a company should stand by their service and address the issues that may happen. Almost 2 weeks now and no word from Paul. Prior to the Making Moves crew's arrival both Havertys and Two Men and a Truck had been in/out of my homes with no issues. On this day I wasn't so lucky, there was damage to both homes. Tristan,Bradley, and Evan showed up at the beginning of the time slot and asked for a walk through to have an idea of what was going before starting. Then as quiet as mice, safely packaged up all the large pieces and worked efficiently. They took breaks-off the clock- which anyone who's ever moved understands how physically demanding it is. They got lunch then resumed work and unloaded in about half the time it took to pack up. These young men were polite and I would request them for any future moves. read more

Don't let the nice pictures and descriptions on their website fool you. Also, I believe any of the five star reviews to be false on this website. If you look at the names of the people who have left reviews, you will see that many of these appear to be fake profiles. I'm confident that most of these five star reviews have been made by employees of this company. If you want broken Items, holes in your wall, and charges three times the amount originally quoted, hire these guys. These guys took no care or concern for any of our furniture. Had I not taped up and patted some of our furniture myself, all of the items in our house would have been destroyed. The original quoted time was four hours. The actual time that it took was more than 10 hours. I believe these guys showed up hoping that it was a two bedroom apartment with everything pre-boxed everything prepared and everything in such a way that all that they would have to do is just barely lift a finger to get the job done. They were unfriendly and not helpful. We are currently in the middle of a pandemic called Coronavirus. One of the workers showed up to our house to help my senior citizen mother move with a constant sneeze and cough. However, he did not have a mask nor did he have gloves nor did he take any care with covering his mouth as he sprayed his germs all over our belongings. Making moves needs to make moves to better train their employees, better secure items and take seriously the health of the people around them. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. If you like using movers that was 4 hours late the 1st day and 4 hours late the 2nd day, a truck with a leaky roof, if you like some unknown white crap left on your furniture, Paul said don't worry about emptying your dresser drawers then the movers stood them on end and your shit goes everywhere, scratched a refrigerator, tried to charge a extra $300 fee, first night they backed the truck up my drive way at a angle no problems, second night came straight back and gouged the concrete even with a spotter. We hired Making Moves to help us unload about 20' of a U-Pack trailer, packed to the roof. They arrived on-time and ready to work. This by far was one of our better moves! And we have moved entire homes 3 times in the last 6 years. This was an experienced crew who took time with our belongings and wrapped everything thoroughly. New update: I've yet to hear from this company since my last update was posted. My items still aren't fixed either. HOWEVER......they did take it upon themselves to charge my card that I made a deposit on to book the move. They never contacted me to request authorization to run this charge. Also, they should've never saved my card information for further use after I only authorized the 75.00 deposit payment. I'm working with my bank to get these funds back since the charge was never authorized and it was over billed from what it should've been. No where does it state in the contract nor was it stated to me that they would run any card for an additional balance and I have the contract provided to me to prove that statement. This company is a complete SCAM and they're only out to do that to people. Completely unprofessional and the owner has yet to take responsibility for any of the actions his "people" have made. read more

Shane, Eric, and Shawn were our movers and they were the friendliest and most professional people in this profession I have experienced and I have moved far too often. From the estimate through arriving at our final destination, everyone was super friendly and made this move as stress free as possible. I have asked you and Eric to produce the pictures that show the damages found in the storage unit and I received 6. I hope that I am on a recorded line because when this case ends up in court, the moving company in Tulsa is prepared to provide the pictures of the items and the condition that they were left in. The Manager of the Storage init in Cleveland is also willing to testify as she was present when items were left in storage. However, this seems to be your Motus Operandi. You have responded so ugly to everyone who has left you a negative review. You have resorted to threatening. lying, arrogance, and name calling to name a few. We moved from Chattanooga area to Daytona Beach. We received multiple estimates some lower some higher. We wanted to use a local mover if possible and felt we had a more comfortable feeling with Making Moves. Our move necessitated them storing our furniture etc., for about 5 days. Everything thing from start to finish was very professional, they took extra care wrapping and protecting our furniture. Patrick and his crew did a great job packing us , and Paul and Chris did a great job unpacking us. Everyone worked at a hard and fast pace. BEWARE!!! I was quoted a date and time and they didn't show up or call. Then I tried again later and they said they would be there by noon and that they only had a small load to do before me. I found out from the crew that they scheduled another job after the one they had quoted me and before me. They didn't get to me until 3pm. Neither did they call to let me know. I had to call them twice to get an answer the first time they didn't pick up. The crew took one hour to unload my townhouse then another hour to move a 2 piece desk into my new residence. They unloaded my tubs and left them in the yard for my roommate to bring in by himself. They went to end dinner and took an hour and a half to travel the same distance that I did in 15 minutes. They went to dinner on my time and showed up to finish the job at 7pm (this was suppose to be a 3 hour job). Both of the crew were stoned and even offered me some weed. Additionally I was paying for a 2 man crew and only was doing the work once they got to my office which was where the moved was scheduled for. My executive offie desk was scratched to hell and they charged me 8 $875.00 for a 3 hour job (and charged me for the time they were at TacoBell). I texted them asking where they were they said eating dinner (togo) and would be there in 10 to 20 minutes (less than 2 miles from my office). They showed up 45 minutes later. Owner wants an "honest review". Furniture delivered on 2/4. Most furniture not wrapped coming off the truck. Most furniture severely scratched and damaged. His own movers were upset about the condition of items they unloaded. Items broken, etc. Now his claim is the inventory sheets( which they were not going to do initially and we had to request) and which they did not bring with them when unloading and had to request pictures of from the office, showed the items were damaged/scratched when they left our house in TN. Which is bogus. And he says we were offered additional insurance, which is accurate but believing they were a reputable company did not feel the need for it. He overcharged for a credit card fee he initially even said he would "eat it" and will not listen to reason on why he overcharged, even after showing them my credit card statement reflecting no "Extra" credit, just the extra charge. His response is poor, and I am sure their "claims" department will say they owe nothing, whenever they finally respond. That is clear from his response to another review.
