Absolutely love this place - the staff are wonderful, the food is delicious and the environment is super cool. I take my daughter there on weekends and we pretty much get the same thing: smoothie bowls, sometimes the avocado toast (my fave!) and juices. You really can't find a better place to get healthy food, great service and a spot to chill for a bit. I will add, my nutritionist sent me here to get "juiced" and the staff were really awesome about my needs. I gave them a list of ingredients and told me they'd have my juices ready for today, and they would make them fresh the next day as well. I went home with my juices, drank them and then came back the next day and what do you know - they were freshly pressed, delicious and ready to go. Love, love this place. It is cute, clean, cheery, plus the food is fresh and delightful. I obsess over their Greek avocado toast and power smoothie bowl. (Neither of which, strangely enough, are on the online menu.) It's become my and my granddaughter's sweet getaway place. Usually the food is so good! Today I went there 30 minutes before close. The three girls working had a young man visiting them and they were all hanging out at the counter. Cool. They paused their conversation to take my order. Two toasts to-go: the Greek avocado and the almond butter toast. This is where things go a bit sideways. The in-store menu says the Greek avocado toast (so delicious!) is $9.00. It rang up on the screen $11.44. Weird price, and about 30% more than the printed menu they have at the counter. Then the almond butter toast, listed as $5.00 online (see pic), and $6-something in the printed in-store menu, rang up right around $7.50... a 50% increase to their online menu. Yikes! I left home thinking I'd grab a $14 snack and it was over $20. Oh well. It's a small business and keeping tech up to date falls through the cracks sometimes. When I asked about the prices, the cash register girl said they ask for the cash register to match the menus, but the menus had already been printed. They're literally 8.5x11 white paper, laminated, and there are only two or three copies. Print more. So I bring home my beautiful $20+ toasts, and when I get home see this: not only a little brown on the edges but black on bottom and straight-up burnt. Was this the last bread in the store? Were they not able to toast another slice of bread once they saw this one was charred? Were they so interested in the cute fella visiting that they couldn't be bothered to make something brag-worthy? Oh, darn. Bummer. I really love this place. The vibe is cute, the people are kind, and I've told several city friends it is my favorite part of living out in Lake Saint Louis. Today was a miss. Please get your prices straightened out--honor the prices on your menu or change your menu--and do a bit of training with the closing crew on quality control. I want to keep bringing my granddaughter here, eating yummy food, and trusting we will have as great an experience whether the delightful owner is working or taking the day off. read more

I was recommended this place to study at (there's not many cafes around the area). It's cute and had decent food selection. I got the matcha and a bowl (I forgot what it was called but it had peanut butter in it). The matcha was light and nothing too special (I wasn't expecting it to be amazing so it was okay). The bowl was filling and had a lot of toppings in it (I had extra to take home). There's lots of seating inside (kind of feels like a home decor store, honestly). Music was a bit loud though. Honestly, it was really disappointing how my visit went today. I've been in once before and met the owner. She was wonderful, and everything was made perfectly. Imagine my surprise when I walked in today and a bunch of teenagers were running the place. I walked up to the girl at the front, who completely ignored me for a minute and then apologized. We had a good chat, and she seemed extremely nice, nice enough for me to tip on top of an already expensive bill. When I was up there, I noticed some of the other girls were extremely unenthusiastic to be there and mean-mugging everyone. When my smoothie came out, it was watered down and tasted nothing like what I originally ordered. I was going to go up and ask for them to remake it, but all of them were up there what seemed like flirting with a man who'd been there since we arrived. Extremely awkward. Yum! I needed a nice easy local juice bar- the green juice is my favorite! However lately I have been leaning toward the pineapple! They have excellent protein bites that I always grab for a nice snack all week. The space is fun, cozy and playful with various types of seating and lounging. We first got Hygge during their "soft opening" and came back to support on their grand opening! We've been back several times since and I now get cravings for the açaí bowl!! The service is so slow. I've been a fan of Hygge for about a year now, but the last few times I've been in, I've gotten TERRIBLE service. I was skipped over multiple times and my food has been wrong. Took 40 mins to get a smoothie and a slice of avocado toast with barely any avocado on it. I never get the micro green that come on the avocado toast either. Just super disappointed. This place is one of a kind! They have healthy options galore which makes it fun for me and my kiddos. Plus they consider the whole person!! They offer weekly Yoga & Wellness classes. Hygge brings an atmosphere that is unlike anywhere else. Not sure if anyone else has noticed this BUT COVID brought the worst out in customer service and Hygge changes that it is a breath of fresh air. The bowls are delicious, are a definitely a meal. This is my new favorite place! I ordered the avocado toast, flatbread pizza, turkey club salad and the Nutella protein balls. They were all delicious! My husband even enjoyed the food as well, which is a difficult task to accomplish when it comes to healthy food.
