What a cute gem in St. Charles! Another spot I had been wanting to visit for a while and although it was very hot this morning, we made our way! Not a lot of parking, but lots of street parking and it's in a very walkable neighborhood. This place is order first, and then find a seat! And there is plenty of seating inside and in their covered patio! They have the menus all up front for you: breakfast and lunch, kid's menu, and drink menu. We ordered: Croque Madame Crepe - standard crepe, but w all the croque Madame fixings! The ham was soo good in this The Lake Bake - poached eggs on HASH BROWNS! Great seasoning on the potatoes. Just Cheese Flatbread - my 3 year old loved it! Orange Juice Cold Brew w milk Apple Juice I loved our breakfast! It was simple and filling! The atmosphere here is so lovely so I recommend visiting. It is also huge space. The further you go in, the more seating there is and a covered patio as well! We checked this place out on a Thursday around noon. Upon entry, it's a little confusing where to go. People who had already ordered we're looking at the pastry case. We couldn't get past them, so we walk around to order, but then it felt like while we were in the way of the staff. Service was very friendly and warm. We ordered southwest omelette with gluten free toast (bonus!), potatoes, pick 2 turkey Brie sandwich/red pepper Gouda soup. It was all delicious. Cons: no ambiance music, just a tv with a screensaver on We drove from STL city to try this place because it was on a best breakfast list. While it was decent and the menu is up my alley, it's doubtful we'll return because of distance and it didn't have a wow factor we felt we needed to come back to. Going off food alone, they'd easily be five stars. Absolutely incredibly breakfast food that was worth the wait! We sat outside on the back patio (very cute little set up with ample shade!), because the inside was so packed. The inside is so gorgeous with lots of seating as well. There were board games to play, which is a nice touch! Pricing was decent for a little place like this. What bummed us out was the service. It took nearly 50 minutes to order, as you order at the front and then they bring you your food at your table. We were visiting with family so we didn't mind, but we were there for a total of nearly 2.5 hours with five people. Our poor waitress was very overwhelmed. We will be back, though. This place is just WOW! I am kicking myself for not trying it a WHOLE lot sooner!! I met a friend for lunch this past week and we were both very, very satisfied with our experience. This place is the perfect combination of cute and cozy, and very comfortable for a gathering with friends or a solo work session. The staff was stellar and every single staff member was polite, helpful, and smiling! I enjoyed a classic macchiato, which arrived quickly and was made perfectly. My friend got a regular cup of coffee (self-serve with free refills) and seemed to enjoy hers as well. Now for the food: We each enjoyed a "pick 2" and both left satisfied and looking forward to coming back to try more! The portion sizes were perfect for lunch and everything was delicious. I highly recommend the strawberry avocado salad if you're keeping it light, but the turkey brie sandwich is a standout as well. My friend was a little unsure of the seedy bread in her French onion soup but said aside from that her meal was fabulous and that she would recommend the French dip to ANYONE and everyone. Cute cafe with extensive menu. I would say for anyone not familiar, that it doesn't have that much French influence. I'd say it's a top notch Panera. Service is fantastic . Fairly close to our home, we love coming here for the great pastries and unique breakfast dishes. I am a big fan of their chai tea, finding it creamy and not overly seasoned. My favorite breakfast is the Lake Bake, and my husband likes to order a variety of things, trying the whole menu board! He also likes their lattes and orders it the most often. Parking is mostly on the street, but we never have to walk very far. We are always greeted happily, and the service staff do their best to ensure we have everything we need. read more

It has grilled chicken, bacon, mozzarella cheese, avocado, red pepper, olive oil, cilantro and they drizzle chipotle ranch dressing on top. Very tasty and very filling. I enjoyed eating this great tasting flatbread. I highly recommend it. My chai latte was delicious. It can be a dessert because it is sweet and refreshing. The bread was more like a basic sub roll than something you'd expect from a café like this, and the balance was off. It was very heavy on the turkey and pretty light on the brie, which kind of defeats the point of ordering that combo in the first place. That said, service was solid and the space itself is a nice, quiet spot if you're looking to get some work done over lunch. I cannot say enough good things about this place. It had an excellent combination of coffee, food, service, and environment. Finding this place wasn't difficult as there are large signs outside. However, you either get lucky enough to get parking on the side lot or you'll have to rely on street parking. As you walk in, the place is very cozy with plenty of tables. There is also an excellent outdoor seating area with a backyard patio feel. The bathrooms are large and very clean. Service is very fast. You have to order at the front and they get very busy, so waiters won't be able to take your order once you're sitting. In case you need something like water, it's self-serve at the patio outside. Now the food - I ordered a cappuccino and it was good quality coffee. Honestly, hard to get wrong with fresh ground beans. I also ordered a Monte Cristo Crepe. I devoured it because of how delicious it was. It was a mix of savory and sweet and I was scraping up the drizzle as I finished my plate. Perhaps my favorite thing is how relaxed the place is. I sat there for hours out at the patio with my laptop and got a lot of work done thanks to their free wifi. If you need a quiet place to work, hang out with friends, or just want a nice place to eat this it absolutely the place to come to. read more

I have always loved going to La Belle Vie. The food is good and the ambience is relaxing. They have a chill vibe making it a fun place to linger with friends. I went to La Belle Vie on Sunday Jan. 19 for coffee and breakfast and was disappointed to find out they no longer have sugar free options for coffee lattes. I will still visit La Belle vie if invited by a friend but for myself I will patronize places that offer sugar free options. It's so weird to me that gluten-free or vegan options are available so why not the sugar-free for diabetics? Hmmm. Though sometimes the place is really busy and it's hard to find a place to sit. Plenty of spaces to grab a seat either to catch up, work, or just read a book and sip some coffee. Service was friendly and consistent. The food at our table included quiche, the hash (had sweet porosities and regular potatoes), country omelet, and the Monte Cristo crepe. Everything had great flavor!! This is a beautiful cafe! The interior is warm and inviting with plenty of seating. If you go all the way to the back you'll find their beautiful patio and a room with a fire place. They have two beautiful gender neutral bathrooms. Food: We loved the selection and got to sample a good mix of things. I got the pick 2 with the French onion soup and the jalapeño popper sandwich and I loved it. The soup was warm and comforting and loved the cheese pull. The sandwich was hefty and cheesy -- I'm so glad I decided to get the 1/2 sandwich. The rest of my party liked their food but felt the crepe, biscuit w/gravy and the Lake Blake were heavy and lack in flavor. The operation were big and they do have lighter options like salads, soups, and flatbreads so we would probably mix some of these in next time around. The service was great! They have a big menu by the entrance and you can grab a more detailed menu by the entrance that breaks down each item and it's ingredients.
