The place to go to get propane filled!. Ive been going here for years to get my propane tanks refilled and never been disappointed. Plenty of other options coming from Gunbarrel so its worth the extra drive to me. Was able to refill and pay without going inside, so that is a plus. Will be back next time as usual. read more

This uhaul is the worst experience I've ever had. I made an appt for 11am to get a tow hitch installed. Received a text at 8am saying they changed my appt to 9am. I called and got to a call center who said unsure why but that I should get there as soon as possible and she has no way for me to contact the store directly. I get a call from the store finally at 8:50 and they say just get here when I can. I get there at 9:30. And check back at 11 and they haven't even started working on my vehicle. And said I just have to wait and couldn't tell me why the hell I had to be there early when they didn't even start to work on it. Now at 2pm they tell me it will be another hour after they started working on it two hours ago. I am flabbergasted at the lack of communication and responsibility of this place. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. NOT WEARING MASKS DURING COVID-19 Do not go to this location. Unprofessional, and not abiding guidelines for COVID-19 and wearing masks. Sign on front door says "masks required to enter", but upon entering the front desk staff wasn't wearing a mask. I had a reservation to have a hitch installed. I dropped my car off at the proposed time (10am), where I was told by the front desk staff (not wearing a mask) that the installer didn't come until 11am and they would contact me when its done. I went to a local coffee shop and got a call 90 minutes later stating that the part for my install was not available and they would have to re-schedule me to a different date. I returned to the location to pick up my car, asking for clarification where the maskless front desk worker stated the person who ordered parts was out on vacation. My family and I had a horrible experience with this U-Haul. Our family member had lost the key to our U-Haul (which we understood was our fault) and asked for assistance opening the Uhaul. The staff at this U-Haul was so disrespectful and wouldn't even use kind words to explain that they could not help us and kept repeating "it was not their fault we lost the key". They approached the situation with zero kindness or respect and as a U-Haul shop, I am sure they have seen people lose keys before. They could have just kindly stated what we could've done to solve the problem or worked with us to fix it. Due to necessity and even with the bad reviews I went here to have a hitch installed. It took a couple of days and a couple of trips over there ( because they don't do phone calls, you have to call the national 800 number, and then I suppose they relay the message.) Finally I got to the set appointment, left them with the car and took a bus downtown. An hour later I got a text that they couldn't install the hitch because they needed "special" equipment. But I could take it to the dealership,.....huh? I shlepped back took, my keys and got my deposit refunded. Uhaul as a company needs a good national reworking , the business model is dysfunctional. My experiences with the customer service with Uhaul in SD and corporate hasn't been the greatest over the years. To my surprise, this time that's not the case!! We recently relocated from out of state and sadly our housing didn't go as planned. We had to be quick on our feet in order to reposition ourselves in an environment that's safe and sound, which didn't come easy. If it weren't for Jason's compassion, warmth and friendly smile the moment we walked in, I don't think we could've rebounded as quickly. Also, I don't know that I'd have the drive, hope and faith to keep looking for a home in Colorado if it weren't for his awesomeness!! Jason, I hope you and upper management get a hold of this, so it's known how incredible you are, you made a Postive impact on us, and you're management recognizes you for your hard work and excellent customer service! Do not get your hitch installed here under any circumstances. Initial installation seemed fine but a few months later, my car started getting all of these strange electrical issues. I took my car into the dealer and it turns out UHaul of North Boulder installed the wiring completely incorrectly, connecting some wires wrong and not connecting others at all. As a result, the hitch is draining/leaking unnecessary power and has totally ruined my battery. I am not even connecting my hitch to a trailer that would require use of the wiring--only a static bike rack. They are not responding to my calls over several days. Incredibly frustrated. Fixing the very problem they created is going to cost me several hundred dollars, not to mention a new battery. Save yourself the time, money and headache and get any hitch installation done by an actual professional--these guys are amateurs. read more

Not just this location (but certainly including this location) U-Haul pretty much sucks. Made a reservation, they misspelled my name which complicated things later I returned the trailer early, they charged me for 4 extra days I spent 30 minutes on the phone with customer service, explained the problem and was assured I'd be contacted after putting me on perma-hold I called the Boulder location and spoke with a someone kind of interested in helping but not really capable of helping me Now, someone is supposed to call me back... Meanwhile now I need to rent a truck so, I went to the user friendly online method, created an account, provided date & time preferred and reserved the truck. Then noted that the system defaults to a 6 hour rental. The website allows me to change the rental period to something like 10 hours. Great! Amend the reservation. It creates a second reservation. OK, call them in the morning. Not "fixing" this online. I actually got a call the next morning asking whether I meant to have 2 reservations. He indicated he would cancel one and keep the other. He added that this happens frequently...isn't that a fundamental issue? read more

Awful. We should've noticed the first red flag with UHaul when we tried to track our UBox with our names and turns out our reservation was under an odd combination of our names. Called a week before my final move-out with UBox and confirmed over the phone that everything was set. Then, we called the day before the confirmed date to change our truck reservation and while doing so, wanted to reconfirm that everything was still good with accessing and closing the UBox. Turns out there's no record of this appointment and they also moved my UBox from Boulder to Denver. They claimed that we haven't contacted them about my UBox for months which is not true because we've accessed it to pick some things up in two separate occasions which requires a 24 hour call notice. They also claimed that they only hold UBoxes in Boulder for a couple days but never explained to us during its initial arrival and its sustained location in Boulder for about 2 months. Lastly, they said I should have a confirmation number for the closeout which never given to me during the first call, nor the other calls to access the UBox. We were told a manager would call us back and they never did. We called in again and put in a formal complaint to check my phone recordings to prove of my communication with them. The next day, we followed up on this complaint and again(!) they said they have no record of this complaint or of the manager that was supposed to call us back. I'm super frustrated with UHaul and I'm upset that there is still no resolution with this problem. Do not recommend! At all! read more

I've had nothing but good experiences at the North Broadway location. Sometimes I make reservations online and sometimes I just drop by and get what I need. The customer service has always been excellent. Like any other place, difficulties arise when everyone shows up at the same time, usually at the end of a month when everyone is moving at the same time. That's the only time I've had a long wait. If you're smart, you'll talk to the crew in advance and find out when to come in to avoid any waiting. read more

I made a reservation in early April and less than two days before my move they informed me that they didn't have a truck till maybe in the afternoon the day of the reservation if the person before me turned it in on time. I had to find another truck at Penske, which DOES guarantee a truck but had to pay three times the amount. I highly recommend you NEVER use U-Haul. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. The review is specifically for Frank - the owner / GM. If you value your time and money - find another location to offer up your patronage. Frank was rude, lacked customer service skills and cancelled my reservation at the last minute because I did not pick up my van at the scheduled time (even though the van was supposed to be mine for the day.) Apparently this location has a policy of greed and double dipping - renting out vans multiple times per day for the extra $20. I was also told that I was called to notify me that they were going to cancel my reservation - it never happened and I was also never told things would be cancelled if I did not pick up at a specific time. Due to it being a "busy weekend" no effort to rectify the situation on the spot was made DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I rented a U-Haul and by my surprise when I went to return it (20 minutes before my time was up) no one was there. They also have no service on their lot so making a phone call or a google search is impossible. Called the number on the door and no answer. Waited on hold for support and was told that I had to bring my key back tomorrow because they messed up. I moved 4 hours away and had to drive back to boulder. I was refunded $50, not even close to the cost of using the service. This place is a joke and completely under managed. I would NEVER recommend using. read more

I have had the worst customer service experience at U-Haul's north boulder location! On July 1st I used the online purchase and scheduling system to buy a receiver hitch and have it installed on their first available slot - July 10 at 7pm. On the 8th I got a voicemail from Chris saying that in fact they closed at 7pm, didn't know how that got past him, but he would call back to get me rescheduled. He also left a number I could call. After that he did not call back and I could not get through on the number he gave me. It went into the general scheduling system and after holding for 20+ minutes I was only told I could reschedule for another 10 days from now. When I explained the situation I was told they messaged the store manager who would call me and get me in earlier. When I hadn't heard from the manager for another 3 days I went into the north boulder store and got to talk to Chris. He knew my situation (needed the receiver hitch by the 19th) so had recieved the messages but hadn't called. He did find a slot for me today - the 17th. However when I arrived for my appointment I was told that I would need to approve them using a saw to cut a notch out of my bumper. When I said that wasn't acceptable since the car is leased Chris came out and told me he had tried to call (he said an hour before but I checked my phone and he called 20 minutes before so I was already driving to the shop) because when he opened the hitch kit and read the instructions he only then found out they would need to cut the bumper. He lamely told me they don't open the kits until right before the appointment just in case people cancel and they need to return it. Clearly, their time is much more important than mine, and while they claim to be the hitch installation experts in fact they have no idea what the installation entails until moments before they do the work. I requested a full refund which was granted and informed them a very negative review was forthcoming. Interestingly I tried to leave the review on their website but after entering my (required) order number I got the error that since my order was cancelled I could not leave a review! Terrible. I'm without a receiver hitch for my trip this weekend due to their incompetence and poor customer service. read more

I don't usually post reviews, but I feel the need to note that only some of the employees at this U-haul are wearing face coverings. It is required in the county because of the pandemic and a sign on the door says that customers can not enter without a mask, yet people working there were not wearing masks or bandanas or anything. I felt really uncomfortable and decided not to rent a moving truck from this place. If they are treating this lightly, I can't imagine they take any steps to disinfect their trucks from Covid-19. read more

Similar to other reviewers it took 3+ hours for a towing setup install despite an appointment. If that wasn't enough hassle, when I went to pick up my trailer for a move from CO to CA they failed to tighten down the assembly properly and the trailer literally dropped off as I was leaving the lot. Seriously, it's not a rocket science operation. If gets even better. When I got to Fruita I noticed one of the chains that serve as a safety attachment backup was ground down despite being shortened to the extent possible. I found out U-Haul Boulder had not flipped the ball into the proper high clearance position to compensate for trailer load. I got shuttled between a few local U-Hauls until I got one with a jack to take the trailer off for the adjustment. This killed 2 hours. The Fruita guys told me to file a complaint with U-Haul, though I doubt it went anywhere. read more

Actual truck rental was fine and prior experiences were as well. However, the drop-off process was not. I dropped my truck off at 5:45pm when it was due back by 7. At 9am the next morning, I had still not received a receipt via email (as I'd been promised) so I called. My call was forwarded to a national service center which informed me that the truck was marked as not returned and was now considered late. The local Boulder office did resolve the issue but their employee, Tracy, was exceedingly rude, telling me, "Geez, simmer down, customers are getting so demanding these days" and not being apologetic at all. I'm no exactly sure how expecting my truck to be checked in as promised constitutes being "too demanding." While I understand that the employees are human beings and will therefore sometimes make mistakes (like forgetting to check a truck in now and then), I do expect that when that happens, I am treated courteously instead of with disdain. read more

I've had bad experiences in years past with other locations but think the company in more recent years has make the moving experience more customer friendly. All in all .. this location is great. Difficult to get anyone to answer the phone. Repeatedly made appointments for a trailer hitch installation only to go to store to find that they didn't have the parts in stock. U-Haul extremely short-staffed, poor inventory control, poor computer systems. The folks who do work there appear to be making an effort to help customers, but are just swamped. read more

The guy they have "managing" this place really seems to have a strong "I'm cranky that my parents grounded me" vibe to him. Terrible service. Tried to get gas on multiple occasions, called and someone not on site told me that I could pick it up. When I got there it turned out there was no one to deliver the gas. They said the person would return in a few minutes so I went home and called Uhaul again and was told I would receive a call back, but never did. Rented a cargo van to pick-up a stand-up desk from my company's old office location in Lakewood. The entire process went well, including both pickup and dropoff. I thought the total charge for the rental was very reasonable. The office staff was friendly and helpful both times. I schedule an appointment. 1 hour before they tell me I have to reschedule. I reschedule my entire day. When rescheduling I asked "If I get in there first thing, how long will it take?". They explained if you get the before 12:00 PM it will be done by 1:00 to 1:30 PM. I arrived at 10:00 AM and left my car. I got no phone call by 1:30 PM so I called them. After a 15 minute hold, I was told that they have the boulder office call me. At 2:30 PM, still no call, so I called again. After another 15 minute wait, I gave up. I rode my bike 10 miles to the shop only to be told it would be 4:00 PM before my car is ready. At 4:00 PM my car was delivered to me with the wrong hitch. The guy behind the counter was great. If you have endless amounts of time and patience, this U-haul might be a great fit for you. If not, I'd recommend you go somewhere else. read more

Pretty horrible service. One guy was tied up renting a truck and the the other guy would not help. Stood around for 10 minutes then a wave of returns and propane refills people showed up. Everyone was up in arms with the poor service. The other guy left in the middle of this leaving one guy to handle all this. I've been a customer at this U-haul location for many years, and was never all that happy with the service - customer satisfaction never seemed to be a priority, but I kept returning due to convenience of location. But this past week, I was in twice, and each time was so impressed with the shift in how the store is running, that I am compelled to log this on yelp (as it runs so counter to most reviews i've read here). This includes my transaction with Tracy, the location manager, who comprehensively, patiently, and efficiently walked me through the details of my rental. When I reported that I had not used either of my bags of padding, it was taken off my bill, without questions. The employees - many of whom are new (as many others were let go, when the management changed) - were efficient, courteous, and working hard. Very happy with my experience. read more

Rented a car hauler. Easy peasy. Took about ten minutes for paperwork. Walked out to the lot, uhaul guy attached the trailer and sent me down the road. Front desk staff are not wearing masks during COVID 19 pandemic! We have visited the North Boulder U-Haul location twice this week, and both times staff were maskless. There is a sign on the front door that says mask is required for entry, but these guys are not with the program. All customers were wearing masks. read more
