My father needs a certain diabetes medication…read morethat he has been on for years, his insurance said they would cover it if they received a prior authorization from the Dr. Silverman. Instead of contacting the insurance company to find out out the generic medicine they would cover, they left it to us to call. Leaving him with no refills left, his sugar levels are very high at this point that he has to pay out of pocket for the medication. We finally find out from the insurance company they can keep him on the same medication that he has been on for years, if they receive the prior authorization. However Dr. Silverman instead of doing that decides he should just go with generic medicine Which we have now come to find out it has not been controlling his sugar levels. We have asked her to send the prior authorization in order to file a claim for out of pocket expenses. However the office says she is too busy to call it in and will only accept a fax. I have asked for them to retrieve the fax from their Bloomfield office Which is the number Caremark has but to No avail. It has been two months now, they said they will only accept a fax to the South Windsor office, Which is not in Caremarks system. Just going in circles at this point, when all she needs to do is take one minute to call the prior authorization line. She has now put him on another medication that is not controlling his sugar levels, she just seems to be playing around with medications instead of putting him on the medication that has worked for years. Stay away from this place, horrible experience!

We called with a fever of 104.7 and the incompetent nurse told us to call back the next day because there were no openings. I would think a fever that high would be an exception. I had called the two previous days with a fever of 102 and the same nurse said it was normal after shots. I don't where she went to school but that's not normal. We ended up in the emergency clinic. And surprise surprise, it was another ear infection. If she had listened to my concerns we could have gotten antibiotics in her system 3 days earlier! (And they noticed fluid in her ears during the shots. A clear precursor to an ear infection!) We decided to switch practices because of this incident and I've been trying for 2 weeks to get our records. For some reason they wouldn't physically hand then to me even though I had filled out the proper paperwork and faxed it to them. 2 weeks later and still waiting for our records If you want a hassle-free practice with competent nurses, do not go here.

It was such a relief to come into a clean facility with well trained staff. Everyone who came into our sons waiting room immediately washed their hands before touching him, which doesn't seem like something you'd have to watch for but the previous office did not. Dr. Ganeles has been amazing to work with, not only is she a wealth of knowledge as a pediatric doctor she is also a lactation consultant and helped me with my nursing issues the first day we met her. I am in the medical field…read moremyself and I would never treat a patient of mine in such a condescending manner as he treats a patient. I have been having pain since I was eleven years old. I know how my body works and my pain is very real and it is a real problem. Was told verbatim and I quote, "your pain is in your head". I couldnt believe a dr would say that to me; when I tried to see someone else in his practice I had to get my therapist to call them and advocate for me because they would not return my calls. They told my therapist I was filing a lawsuit against them and slammed the phone on her, (whom by the way is the kindest sweetest old lady), when I had no such intention. I am on medicaid and dont even have money to do such a thing; nor would I want to as I am not a vindictive person. I went to another practice in New Britain and finally had laporoscopic surgery and was diagnosed with stage four endometriosis. I dont want other women to go through what I went through. I want Drs to know women cannot be treated this way. We are people not pieces of meat and a paycheck and our pain is real and we deserve to have our medical problems taken seriously. I sincerely hope no one else is dismissed in such a way and his practice starts treating women more empathetically and not gas light them into believing they are crazy and their pain is fake or "in their head".
