I went into Toepperwein Family Practice yesterday to confirm they take my insurance and make an…read moreappointment for my daughter. My Daughter has a persistent cough and I think its time to move up from a pediatrician. I explained why I was there and they said they couldn't see my daughter if she was sick. They said that she needed to establish herself as a patient when she was well. WTH!!!!!!! A doctors office that cannot see sick patients? So bizarre I just walked out wondering what they just said. I wouldn't recommend this place if your not well. But, hey, they won't take you anyways.

What's gone on there I have no idea, but I can't hang with it anymore. I was probably on of Dr…read more Taj's first patients. I don't know if it's the staff, and it has been. He's had horrible staff during times and good in fact awesome at others. I don't know if the medical care system has changed. I don't know. But months out from appointments means one of two things or both. Either you have too many patients or not enough staff. No matter. And this is kind of common here in San Antonio I've found. Tried to find a doctor taking new patients. 5 months out. THAT is not health care. I can't 'plan' every event with my health 5 months in advance. People get sick and need to see a doctor fairly soon. 'Go to the ER' is the answer. Then the ER gets clogged up to people that really need it. So I just become part of the problem. But for me, for as long as I've been a patient, I don't' care how many patients you have...it's about loyalty and trust me, I've stuck through some bad times there as he's gone through some horrible staff. And I see it. I didn't say anything but I saw the damage being done. I just can't do it. I don't feel like I can accept that for MYSELF. Love the man. He saved my life long ago. We've been through a lot together. I consider him a friend, but I just cannot be treated like that. 5 star for Taj, 2 for the management side of it.

I was never informed that I was going to be seeing a new chiropractor Austin Acosta left the practice and I went in for my appointment and my appointment was with Peter Acosta, I had never been informed again that I would be with a new chiropractor. Peter Acosta is a five star chiropractor as well so I had been happy with my chiropractic care at pro care. Fast forward to March/April, I go in for my appointment and to my surprise, I am introduced to another chiropractor without being informed or given the choice if I'd like to stay with my appointment or cancel since peter Acosta was now gone. I went in and met with Mikel Richter whom I talked with and felt very comfortable with him working on me. He's definitely a5 star. I've been going in weekly and decided to go 3 weeks out since I was going to be out of town, when I return, I go in first thing Monday morning to get my adjustment was not told anything until I am getting ready to walk out the door that as of August 1 Blue Cross Blue Shield will no longer be accepted. I was asked if I would like to set up an appointment to use my insurance one last time, I went ahead and set up appointment for July 31st. I was in a hurry, so I was not able to address my concern about not being advised at least 30 days in advance that my insurance would no longer be accepted. On Monday July 29th I received a message from April that my appointment on July 31st will be private pay and they will not except my insurance. I contacted her back to share my concerns and frustration and asked for someone higher, which she advised me she would put in the request to Amanda to have her contact me back which to this day August 6 I have not received a call from Amanda. This company has horrible communication issues and every person that considers going here should be aware. The communication is very poor and they definitely have not shown any care towards me as a patient that they want to keep me as a patient, that is the business office and not the actual chiropractor. April was informed by me to cancel my appointment for the 31st but then goes and schedule's me an appointment for the 30th at 6:30pm

Also didn't seem to be listening to me either since I told him I had gotten checked somewhere else for what he wanted to check me for. There also should have been a nurse observing the student. Why wasn't he being observed? I understand he was building rapport with patient but not if I wasn't going to see him. On the form it asked if it hurt anywhere and they failed to ask me about that at all during that whole time I was there. I felt rushed and they seemed disappointed that I wasn't there for any big problems. He said he was going to talk to the doctor for a minute and that she would come in to address my concerns. I looked over when they knocked on the door and a woman that didn't look like her profile picture peaked through the door still sitting down on her rolling desk chair with the door still open. Then she advised me to get rid of my supplements and she'll see me out the door -to pay my copay for talking to me for a whole minute. Didn't even take the time to build rapport with me or offered explanation. Rushed me to pay my copay. I was disappointed at the lack of patient attention. I really wanted to love this Dr.'s office!
