I got a chip in the lid of my trunk and I contacted some local shops to get an idea of how much it would cost to repair it. Mike was the first to get back to me, and the second shop (Vega's Auto Repair) that replied said, "Give Hysom auto body shop a call for that!" Mike gave me a detailed estimate for how much it would cost to completely repair the chip, which included re-painting the trunk lid. He also said he could do a quick touch up instead for 30 dollars. I decided to go with the quick and cheap touch up. I figure if I decide to go with the complete repair it would still be worth it for 30 dollars to find out if I would be fine with the touch up repair. I think I will be fine with just leaving it as is with the touch up. However, if I change my mind or need any other work done in the future Hysom's is where I will be going. Quick/painless/honest/friendly service makes it an easy decision. read more

We were assigned to this body shop when we took our car to another shop for collision repairs. When we tried to ask Hysom's staff to explain the body repair bill, we were treated with an aggressive, rude, and hostile attitude. Businesses should be open and eager to explain their charges to their customers. It looked as if they did not want to explain their services and definitely had something to hide. I went to Hysom's after reading the great reviews. I had already gotten an estimate from another body shop who quoted me $1700. I went to Hysom's and he quoted me about $900. I then asked him if there was any way to cut down the costs. They put on some touch up paint and buffed out the scratches as best they could as well as replaced the plastic panels for $288. It isn't perfect but it looks a lot better! I am so glad i didn't spend the extra $700 (or $1400) to have it fixed perfectly. Check out the before and after pictures for how it turned out. This job only took them about 4 hours but if I would have needed it they also offered a rental car free of charge. (You just fill up the gasoline) I would definitely recommend Hysom's! read more

Best Price - Excellent Work :) I arrived early morning - with appointment - and a written quote was presented within 20 minutes. It was the best of three quotes I had gotten, and so I scheduled to get the work done at the first available - some 3 weeks out. I live in Midtown, KC, and getting a ride during Covid times seemed daunting and expensive. I was so grateful when the insurance specialist / billing person, Heather, said she could give me a lift. She gave me a ride home, and picked me up on her way to work a few days later. The front end looks like new! (The hood was repaired when I thought it would have to be replaced.) Seamless. The damage was my fault, so I paid out-of-pocket, and I think they gave me a little better price for because extra insurance paperwork wasn't required, and I paid with a combo of cash and personal check so there were no credit card fees. But they're honest and charged sales tax. (I don't care for underhanded deals cheating our school systems, etc.) If I have another unfortunate crunch, I'll consider coming back without going all over town to get other quotes.
