Great location in a mini strip mall in fair lawn. What was weird, is that I arrived at the establishment before the workers arrived despite the hours that were stated on the door. I went back to my car but then saw the employees come to open the door abc waved at me, I went in. They apologized for being late opening up and offered free samples to ice cream. The hand packed to go ice cream and sorbet always have large voids on the bottom, they scoop up a few curls and use it as way to lift the top of your pint and not completely fill the container. This has happened on more then one occasion and from different staff members. Same with the cones, kind of a sneaky way to rip people off. Reviewer Mega M. got this one right. Too expensive. No comparison to Carvel in terms of taste for the same oreo cookie shake. The Dulce de Leche shake is pretty good. I asked them to exchange my shake twice because they used too much milk and the milk tasted sour. They were upset and carelessly made my replacement. Weird, because I come here pretty regularly and spend dollars at this pricey spot that I could be using to fund a strippers college books. I'm here weekly because of my son. Online and on the website it states that the store usually sells various flavors that are non dairy I know I should have called ahead but I figured like Ben and Jerry's they would at least have at minimum 3 flavors for non dairy options I walk into this place today and they had one a chocolate fudge flavor and when I said it was advertised you had more she said oh no we don't have in her broken English. Dont bother here because apparently speed rushing and bad attitude is what you will get here. I asked for 2 ice cream "cones" quote cones and what do i get 2 scoops of ice cream cup cones. This is a great place for ice cream. The owners are very nice. There may be a long wait sometimes but that's to be expected as there are 2 employees and the times people eat ice cream are common times for many people. Most times I go there Is no line and I'm in and out in 4 minutes. Sometimes I'll place my order and go next door to one of the other stores. I've never had a bad experience here. I ordered a birthday ice cream cake a few days ago to pick up today. While the prices they charge are 25% higher then other places usually the quality is worth it. When I showed up there was an older couple working there who spoke limited English and who couldn't locate my order. When they finally did they told me the order was for tomorrow. Of course that was nonsense, since the birthday party is today. Then they claimed "the girl" called me to confirm the order, a ridiculous lie since why would I confirm an order for the day after the birthday party? Instead of simply acknowledging their error they insisted the order was for Saturday, so there was nothing they could do. This couple was rude, obnoxious, and obviously couldn't care less about ruining a birthday party by their mistake. I will of course never go there again, and will let Haagen dazs corporate know that their franchisee is staining their brand. The good news is four seasons in Elmwood park came to the rescue with a great ice cream cake on short notice, cheaper, and tastier. read more

I'm giving a rating of 1 star because of the service. No stars is more appropriate. Haagen Dazs is one of the best ice creams out there but this one afternoon of sharing ice cream with my toddler daughters (2 yr old and 3yr old) was ruined by the owner. We were the only customers that afternoon and we were eating our ice creams and after a while 2 ladies came in and ordered ice creams and were seated two tables away from us. My daughters started a bout of screaming/laughing at each other which I know is loud. I was telling them to stop. And suddenly the woman who is also I think was the owner told me in a rude way that the other customers were umcomfortable with my kids' behavior. I wasn't able to say anything because I was surprised at what she said. The customers didn't even say anything about it. I know kids are loud some times. But treating customers in a very rude way is disrespectful. If you don't want noise in your place then you shouldn't have customers. We left the place because I was trying to control myself from saying anything back to her. Also the ice cream is way overpriced. I paid $15 for 3 kiddie sized ice cream cups with sprinkles. The owners should change how they treat customers. Or else their business will suffer. read more

Horrible. I ordered a birthday cake that I always order at the Haagen Dasz in Livingston NJ location, but needed it in a town next to Fairlawn. They took my order, said everything was good, but didn't take my phone number down. I walk in the next day ready to pick up the cake and head to my girlfriend's birthday party, only to be told they couldn't make it. Frustratingly trying to understand the lady's thick accent, she said she couldn't make that type of cake, and was trying to force other options that each costed more and more money. I only went to Haagen Dasz for this particular cake; I didn't want any other type of cake. So they screwed up my order, then tried to charge me more for a cake I didn't want... I've dealt with issues like these every once in a while, usually the manager's smart enough give a discount to someone you messed up their order on, not attempt to charge them more for a different product they don't want. Needless to say, I walked out without a cake and they ruined my girlfriend's birthday surprise. read more
