I ordered an ice cream sundae for $17 and was honestly shocked when it arrived. The portion size was incredibly small there was barely enough ice cream for a few bites, literally about three spoonfuls. For a dessert at that price point, I expected something that at least resembled a full sundae. I understand that restaurants have different pricing structures and presentations, and I don't mind paying premium prices when the quality and portion justify the cost. However, what I received felt completely out of proportion to the price charged. It was disappointing to spend $17 on a dessert and leave feeling like I had barely been served anything at all. Toss it in with the M&Ms and outcomes delight. A critique on Dairy Queen is that it's often actually too cold and too hard. That's where the blast differs. Creamier but not so far to say a custard. Nice vanilla flavor. A boatload of mix-ins. Literal boat load I saw the pontoon in the back, love a place committing to a bit. And the nice thing about this concoction was that it was still cold but oh so runny. Almost a hybrid milkshake consistency. Loved it. Who doesn't love ice cream??? One thing I do know is that there are levels to the ice cream game and Bruster's is solid, but I feel like I've had better in the county. We came by on the Sunday evening of Memorial Day weekend at around 7 PM. The ice cream shop is exclusively outdoors meaning they have no indoor seating at all, but all of the employees are inside this little house of a shop and serve you through a window. We took a glance at the menu, which really didn't impress us much, but settled on a Small Waffle Cone with 2 scoops (Caramel Apple and Chocolate Raspberry Truffle) and 2 Kids' Cones (1 with Cherry Vanilla and the other with Southern Banana Puddin'). The ice cream was OK, still refreshing though, but very inconsistent with the scoops. The Small Waffle Cone had 2 scoops in it, but the scoops were really sunk down inside and it made it look like there was barely a scoop in there. I'm basically insinuating that the scoops could have been wayyyyy bigger (because who doesn't love getting their bang for their buck, especially when it comes to ice cream!). The Kids' Cones were realllly shockingly inconsistent. At first, we didn't think much of it because we got the Cherry Vanilla scoop on a Kids' Cone first. It was a small scoop as expected, but then we also got a Kids' Cone with a scoop of Southern Banana Puddin' and this scoop was HUMONGOUS to the point it looked like 2 scoops! That's when we thought, "Where was the rest of the Cherry Vanilla cone?????" Luckily, we did get one of the Kids' Cones for free because of their promotion of giving a free Kids' Cone to those who are 40" or shorter, so that was nice. Overall, OK ice cream, but we weren't really obsessed by the menu of flavors. They aren't the best that we've had in the county, but far from bad because ... well ... it's ice cream after all still. read more

I love their ice cream here because it's so creamy and rich and flavorful. I tried their chocolate flavor last time and it was so chocolatey and creamy. This time I tried their new pumpkin cheesecake flavor and coffee flavor. The pumpkin cheesecake flavor was good at first and then it was too much "pumpkin spice" for me but the coffee was really good. I got it on a waffle cone and it was good, but the waffle cone had a hole in it, so I ended up with ice cream all over my leg. I also always get chocolate sprinkles on the side, which is good so that I could have chocolate sprinkles with each bite. The first time I went I got a banana split and it was huge. I didn't even get a chance to take pictures. It was definitely too much for even 2 people, so if you are going to get the banana split, please make sure to share. If you love ice cream, then you will definitely appreciate how good their ice cream is. They have very indulgent and delicious ice cream, so you must stop by. FYI: -There is some seating for you to sit to eat your ice cream. -You order at the right side of the window and then pick up your order at the windows on the left. -They have a QR code by the walkway so you could see their menu, too. What a sweet surprise when Bruster's made its way up North and specifically, here in Westwood. The Blue Pop is just as I remembered it as kid, however, the other Italian ice flavors don't seem to be consistent. The downside of this location is the incredibly slow service. Sometimes you can wait up to 30 minutes to reach the top of the line and by then, it's not worth it. I hope they can turn the service around and keep their flavors steadfast. read more

We finally decided to check this place out, waiting a few months after it first opened to avoid the crowds. There is metered street parking along Broadway, and in the back there is a metered parking lot. The staff was welcoming and were efficient taking and preparing our orders. We ordered a regular mint chocolate chip in a waffle cone, a small butter brickle in a waffle cone, and a regular apple crisp (both available for a limited time) in a waffle cone. They were delicious, a good size, and fairly priced. Luckily, I was able to use one of the coupons I found in the local paper for a BOGO waffle cone. It has a small storefront where you place your order at the window, and there is only outdoor seating available. They have an extensive menu and we'll definitely be back to try more! read more

This was my first time trying Bruster's Real Ice Cream in Westwood. I must say that that I enjoyed the ice cream so much I stopped back later in the week with friends for a second helping. I had one of the specials the combo is always my go to if it's available and that was the White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle. The ice cream was rich, creamy and flavorful and the Raspberry component was a very generous raspberry sauce! Yum different from what I've ever seen or experienced before. The service is fast and efficient and the portion size was more than generous! The waffle cone was very tasty! You stand outside at a window to get served which obviously would be a drawback in rain and in Winter. I'm living in the Tampa bay area now and I see there's one in Tampa that's a bit too far at 25 miles away so I'm hoping that one is opened closer to me by Clearwater. I just happened to stop by chance, as my spouse needed to visit the Chase Bank nearby. It was a bit crowded, but this was most likely due to the fact that it was a Saturday evening. The selection was quite robust, and the service was reasonably polite. I had one scoop of Black Raspberry Sherbet. The price was on par with surrounding establishments. We came here to support a school fundraiser and we're please tlc surprised by the quality of the ice cream and the friendly service! After being inundated with Facebook Ads for this business, I decided to give it a try. It was very disappointing. The strawberry ice cream tasted artificial with a Parmesan cheese after taste. So much so, my husband had to grab a mint to mask the flavor left in his mouth. My chocolate raspberry was creamy and chocolaty, but it was so overpriced. The server used a tiny scoop that barely equaled a normal sized scoop. So two scoops equaled one at other ice cream shops. I will not be returning. read more

2 stars are for the quality of the ice cream but zero stars for the service and prices. We went there when there was absolutely no one else was there and waited and waited for someone to help. Final a boy opens the window and says nothing. I then give him our order to which nothing is said and the window is slammed shut. Minutes late the window opens again with just the words "twenty eight". I asked him if that was the amount for cash with no response. I put down $40.00 and waited for my change. The window was shut and again, minutes later, change was dropped to the counter without any communication. Normally I would have left a tip but with the rudeness we got, there was no way that was going to happen. Then the other window to our left opens our cones and cups were held out with one word spoke - HERE! I could of maybe gotten past the high prices but the unfriendliness was intolerable.
