Living in Los Angeles; I don't see too many Hagaen Dazs stores around but I definitely saw a fair share when I was in Honolulu. This Haagen Daz is located right at the heart of Waikiki and made for a perfect stop during one cool evening while walking around. Because of its location; it was quite busy and there was a line at 9pm at night. Seating is a bit limited and they have a few chairs lined up across the ice cream stand. TL;DR: ice cream is on the pricey side. I recommend just getting a cup instead of a cone so you can save your money for splurge on something else. Tip: You don't "need" ice cream. My justification for getting ice cream outside of the grocery store is for when there is a flavor I have not tried before or cannot get elsewhere. Parking: resort/hotel garages or lots outside the shopping strip only. Minimal street parking if any. Atmosphere: typical ice cream parlor, limited seating. Service: Order and pay at the register. Pineapple Coconut: creamy ice cream with tasty little bits of pineapple. There wasn't a strong coconut flavor though, which I would have appreciated. I always enjoy Haagen-Dazs ice cream when I'm walking around Waikiki. And, one of my fave ice cream shops is Haagen-Dazs. I have other faves to enjoy ice cream, but this location is convenient. Upon my most recent trip to the islands, I stopped in and noticed a small line had formed. The line moved fairly quickly as the two staff members were working hard to keep the line moving. I ordered a small coffee and mint chip in a cup and my son enjoyed two scoops with mango and strawberry sherbert. Since it was a fairly warm day, our treats helped cool us down. read more

I am a type of person where I always counting calorie intake. And thia me felt conscious all the time everytime we decided to go out and grab something. Then we came up to this ice cream parlor. Which I am worried because my husband is so serious of getting some. He wanted me to get some but I don't want to. It's not about being kill-joy but rather I am taking care of my body which it needs to be taking care of. But when it's about our turn to order I finally see all the flavors on the menu that they got a low-fat frozen yogurt ice cream which I immediately chose to be my flavor. The place is good and I am confident enough on their ive cream. They got green placard from Department of Health Hawaii State which shows that they prepare and serve the product without any violations. And I simply love the place too coz they serve low-fat ice cream which makes a conscious diet customers happy like me. Though I hope that they got non-fat for that, low-fat will be enough and that's not that bad compare to other ice cream that they got. So far the staff is kind except on lacking happy and grateful facial expressions but maybe they just got a long day so I need to understand that. LoL Their ice cream is pricey but I think it's reasonable enough. Plus they really did great job on their product. Hope they will have macadamia nut flavor (do they have? I didn't see it. Or maybe I just don't notice it). So far the experience is great and looking forward to hit the store again (hoping that they'll be having a non-fat flavored ice cream by that time). I've been working in Waikiki for some time now and I've only come to this location a handful amount of times. I walked in and luckily there wasn't a line out the door like it normally would be when I walk by this establishment. I believe that they just finished some renovations just this year and the ice cream shop looked very new and clean. There is about 8 chairs for seating. No bathroom. The worker who served us was very patient because it took me and my friend a few minutes to look at prices, flavors and to sample flavors. She was very friendly and even offered to take my number down for their rewards program. Although, I would prefer a stamp card or some type of phone application. I still think it was very nice for her to take my number down to put my rewards in manually. Overall, my experience here was a great one. I didn't realize I wanted more toppings (sprinkles?) on my ice cream till I left but I would've appreciate if they did up-sales and explain what also could come with my ice cream. Do yourself a favor.... Don't order a milkshake unless you plan on drinking chocolate milk. You can barely taste any ice cream at all. It was a total waste of money. Let me tell ya... it's hard sometimes to have a friendly face in the hustle and bustle of late night Waikiki. However, I came on a busy night with the streets blocked off for the festival and I definitely wasn't going to buy half melted ice cream for the same price from a kiosk tent, so I went to good ol' Haagen Dazs where it was PACKED with locals and tourists alike. Despite the hoards of ice cream orders, special requests, and non-English speaking customers, the employees were so happy and smiley! Even with an empty tip jar! It just boggled my mind and I just chatted up with them. Lesson learned: If you're just happy and bubbly the whole day, life will be so much better and easier to get through! Now for the goods, I got me a regular sized Banana Split Sundae with 2 scoops of vanilla and 1 scoop of their new Midnight Chocolate flavor. It was to die for! It's Haagen Dazs ice cream so it's already a great that's nothing new. What should you get while your here... either one of their sundaes or shakes to take full advantage of what this shop has to offer. They offer two sizes small and regular. Personally I recommend the Midnight Cookies and Cream for their sundaes and the Dulce De Leche for their shakes. A small shake will cost you a little over $7 and a small sundae will be a little over $8. Pros: I have never had a bad shake or sundae. Their own sundae and shake creations make ordering easy. They are open late yay! Cons: The service - they can be quite slow and not that nice. Also the price but you have to remember it's Haagen Dazs in Waikiki on Kalakaua. Well Haagen Dazs is not something that originated in Hawaii or you can only get here I still recommend you stop by here once if you're on vacation and more often if you're lucky enough to live here! read more

The bf and I decided to make a quick stop here before heading to a friend's birthday party at a nearby hotel. It wasn't crowded..thank goodness.. but my oh my.. those workers need a great big lesson in customer service. When walking into the shop.. no greeting or anything.. we were looking at what we were going to get and the girl behind the counter just stayed where she was.. zoning off. until we had to actually walk up to her and ask her if we could order. no friendliness whatsoever.. Went to the Pacific Beach Hotel location. The WORKER there was so RUDE!!! Decided to take my grandkids to get some ice cream, since we were staying at the hotel. No greeting from unfriendly worker; didn't have the courtesy to inform customers that the credit card machine was out of order. "Cash sign" was not visible at all! No manager or assistance manager on site to make a complaint! Very disappointed with service! Took grandkids to Yogurtland, where the service there, was much better.
