The best shaved ice in Oahu! I've tried ululani, waiola and Matsumoto. This is not overrated nor is it a tourist trap. It was sooo good and I truly appreciate that they use fresh fruit puree as their flavoring. I'm so glad I tried it on my last day or they would have emptied out my bank account. Island Vintage Shave Ice is clearly popular--there was a long line every time I passed by. They have a kiosk where you place your order, choose one of their preset creations, or build your own. It's convenient, but also pretty pricey and very impersonal. I preferred the small, charming shave‑ice shops I found on other islands like Kauai. I ordered a simple shaved ice without any of the extra toppings or ice cream, and it was still over $10. And unlike Henry's, where I know the sorbet is made from fresh fruit, I wasn't sure what Island Vintage uses for their syrups. Since Henry's is walkable from here, that's definitely where I'll go instead. read more

This is my favorite shaved ice on the island! I love how fresh all the syrups are. Truly the best sweet treat or something to cool you off in the Hawaii heat. I've always gone to other popular shave ice places even when this one is right down the street from where we usually stay at and middle of Waikīkī. Probably cause of the hype. This time I just decided to try this place. Boy oh boy was I wrong!!!!! Their shave ice here is awesome!!! The combination of flavors, base, and toppings was ridiculously delicious!! Went all 4 days of my stay after that. They are very quick at making the orders so the long lines go fast and I think it's just slower because people order on their own on the screen. Otherwise it would be so much faster. Anyways, the little kiosk looks great and the treats here worth any wait!!! read more

First time trying Hawaiian shaved ice and it did not disappoint. I noticed this small little stand downstairs in the same plaza of island vintage coffee and there were a couple of people standing around at 9:30pm. You order on the iPad and service is pretty quick. Lots of options to choose from or even customize your own. Got the green island shaved ice which was soft and not too icy, but it did melt pretty fast! The flavor wasn't too sweet and loved the mochi but if only there were a bit more pieces. You can taste the matcha just a little. They were generous with the azuki red beans and frozen yogurt. First time trying Hawaiian shaved ice thanks to a friend :) This is definitely one of the best tasting desserts I've had! The shaved ice was creamy and soft and the flavor wasn't too sweet. I also really liked the mochi topping (I wish there was more). Service was fast as we went on a cloudy day (earlier in the afternoon) but I've seen long lines on social media. There isn't seating available as it's just a stall on the side of the pathway so we went to a nearby area to eat. Unfortunately, the ice melts very quickly and we were soon drinking shaved ice soup. Also, it's on the pricier side as the area we were in was where a lot of tourists shop. I'd love to try more Hawaiian shaved ice from other places to compare! read more

First time trying this place, and it was pretty good! I liked the softness of the shaved ice and how they give you a lot of toppings like mochi and popping boba. This does melt very fast, though. My bowl had turned to soup halfway through eating it and it was spilling out a lot. You can order through an ipad so it speeds up the process a lot. read more

This shaved ice spot is a MUST TRY! I've been to so many different popular spots on the island and I can confidently say, the best spot is right here. It's a small little stand along the side walk by Island Vintage Coffee. They have a variety of options and you cannot miss. You could also customize your own flavors if you'd like. Service is quick but there is often a long line, especially at night. But hey, that's how you know this place is good! I visit this spot every time I visit oahu. Most recently I tried their pink lychee. It's really good. Excellent actually! Be sure to add the ice cream if it doesn't already come with it, it makes all the difference! The flavoring syrups are really good too. I know they're all 'artificial' but this one tastes the least artificial if you know what I mean lol. If they open up a location in California, then I'd be visiting weekly! Highly recommend this place! read more

Came here twice during my trip! Island vintage usually has a decent line, but moves fairly quickly. Ordering is done by tablet and is card only. Their syrups are natural and some have a stronger taste than others. I'll always top mine with condensed milk and their soft homemade mochi. Great first experience with the island vintage shaved ice we got the pink island and the rainbow and it was very creamy and good. Just took off points because it was kind of hard to figure out how to get a smaller size. The self order computer make it seem like it's only one size. Other than that fast service, friendly staff, and a cute little shack for shaved ice. Their mochi was one of the best mochi I have ever tasted. It didn't harder even though it was mixed with the ice. I'm always on the lookout for the best shave ice when I visit Hawaii so I'm glad I finally got to check out this spot. My husband and I shared: - Super Island - Heavenly Lilikoi with Mango instead of Strawberry Both were great, but the Super Island was my favorite which was surprising because I love lilikoi. I shouldn't have swapped the flavor because mango was too close in flavor and I think strawberry would have paired better. They make their own syrups which are delicious. They have a lot of great flavor combinations. The thing that really sets them apart is how much extra syrup they put on. You won't find any unflavored ice here. read more

If you're in Honolulu, this spot is a must!!! I've tried quite a few shaved ice spots and they were all meh. Their flavors don't taste like colored syrup thrown into ice like some other places that I've visited. They have diff types of toppings including fruits, mochi and more. This place is a highly recommended stop. I would say it's on par in terms of flavor and satisfaction with Azuki Tokouri (viral reservation only 6 seat tiny store) in Shibuya, Japan. There's a long line to order on a tablet. It doesn't take too long for the line to move. Afterwards they call each order by number. You can taste the quality of their In house flavored syrups, I love that their mochi is hand made and the soft powdery chewy kind rather than mochi balls/Shiratama. I love their macadamia nut cream, very nutty just like the nut. Ambiance is lively as it's located outside the Royal Hawaiian shopping center in Waikīkī tourist area. There's plenty of outdoor mall seating by an outdoor stage with occasional live music. The shaved ice stand right outside by a vintage island coffee shop and vintage island wine bar upstairs. read more

Had to stop by and try island vintage shave ice since I love their coffee shops drinks. The ice is fine, the flavors are good and the fruit is fresh... the only thing was that it seemed to melt quicker than other shave ice places... not sure if it's because how fine ice is and not packed down or if it was just a very hot day but I usually I can eat it quicker than it melts and I ended up with more melted than eatable. That was really my only complaint (aside from it being in the heart of Waikīkī which is a pain for non-tourists). Lines were long since it's a booth on the street in Waikīkī but seemed to move fairly quickly. If I'm already in that area again I'd give it another try! read more

Waited in like for like 15-20 min, ordered from the kiosk, and waited about 5-10 min for our shave ice! We got the heavenly Lilikoi and it was tasty! I liked the frozen yogurt element w the fruit and mochi. The boba balls weren't the boba I was expecting but still yummy overall. For $11ish it's not a bad dessert but it is a bit of a wait and is a snack that disappears pretty quickly! lol! But it's in a great location with tons of shopping. On a hot sunny humid day, you have to go island vintage shaved ice!! Your trip won't be complete until til you stop by here! It's one of the best shaved ice, I've ever had. The ice is so fine and the flavors are so sweet and fruity. I got tropical island bc I love mango and coconut! I wanted to go back to try lilikoi flavor but end up not trying it unfortunately... It gets super super crowded at night so try to stop by while the sun is out. The line goes by so fast and the view was beautiful too! You can eat it around the resting area. There's plenty of seats but the store is a small stall. Don't let that fool you tho! They have one of the best shaved ice! Get mochi! Mochi was soft and pillowy! I mean, I'm all about dessert before a meal. In my experience, it is always a challenge to eat Halo halo because it's filled to the top. My strategy: take off the cover (if it's not overspilling: if it is, skip this step), eat some of the ice cream, and take a few sips! Not sure if you're actually supposed to buy retail here but the head employee was so kind enough to stop what he was doing and went over the many flavors in the refrigerated display coolers. They have dairy free too. Hubs tried the man's favorite Mac nut and I chose Kona coffee. You can order on line. It looks like a production kitchen in the back with freezers upfront labeled with the contents. $2.50 per tiny cup. They have larger sizes too but we just had lunch. Creamy, delicious, hits the spot.

I recently visited Island Vintage Shave Ice and had a good time. The line was long, but luckily, it moved quickly enough. It's important to stay in the store so you can hear when your name is called because it can get busy. One of the best parts was the number of choices. There were lots of flavors and toppings, which was exciting because I like trying different things. The sizes were also big, so it was a great treat to enjoy on a hot day. However, there was a small problem with the syrup. The flavors on the top were great, but the syrup wasn't spread evenly, making the middle just plain ice. This made the experience a bit less fun because shave ice should be sweet all the way through. I also tried the mochi topping. It was chewy, which I liked, but it wasn't very sweet. If you like your mochi sweet, you might find this a bit disappointing. Overall, Island Vintage Shave Ice is a nice place to get a treat with lots of choices and big servings. While the line might be long, the wait isn't too bad. They could improve by spreading the syrup better to avoid flavorless parts. I've been getting shave ice from here every time I'm in Waikiki. The shave ice syrups taste very natural, the mochi is very delicious. I believe it is freshly made everyday from scratch. This review deserve 3 stars because I've stop by I believe a week ago around 9:50pm, they were obviously not closed yet because it says 10pm. But one of the girls who had a bun told me "were close". No questions asked, I just left. Also for their uniforms, I know you guys have an aloha shirt to wear but for bottoms. Some of the girls short are ridiculously short, sometimes showing their bums. Management should have a length requirement! Very unprofessional and unappealing. A tip: do not come here when it's close to closing because they will most likely not serve you. read more
