Then, not even a week later, I had to go back because my dog decided to turn my brux guard into a chew toy. I guess I should just be glad she didn't choke... but ugh, I paid 600 bucks for that thing (at my last dentist) since my insurance company wouldn't cover it. I explained my need to come in to Karen, the receptionist. Not only did she fit me in THAT day, but she also called my insurance company & found a bite plate they *would* partially cover. So, instead of paying another $500 out of pocket for a new plate, the new one cost me $167 because it's made from a different material. I'm so glad she looked into that for me. I went in last Wednesday to have a new impressions made. Today (Monday) I got a call to tell me the new brux guard is ready - yes, already! I went at lunch to pick it up the same day. That was so fast & painless. I wish all dentists were like this because making appointment months in advance is a complete joke in my world. They might not keep a massage therapist or have huge plasma tvs at every chair, but why should they? They get you in & out before you have a chance to wait. I love my dentist and her staff!

She was very nice and explained that the filling needed to replaced. This was the 3rd time it had to be done so I was furious and very nervous when I went it to get it done. Everyone there is really friendly, which definitely calms the nerves. When I got in the chair they asked if I wanted to listen to headphones with whatever Pandora station I wanted to drown out the sound of the drill. Um yes, please!!! I'll be back! They always make me feel welcome & extremely comfortable and they take really good care of my dental needs. Dr. Tam- I adore her. She's very professional, thorough & trendy. I love her style! She has a gentle, relaxed and very caring bedside manner. Nathalie is wonderful, she's always friendly and informative, she explains the insurance/ financial part clearly for me to understand. She works with me on scheduling my appointments. Julia is amazing, she's very knowledgeable, informative, efficient & considerate. She seems to really love what she does. I recently had my upper wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Nguyen. He was also great. I was a little nervous about the procedure. Dr. Nguyen was professional, knowledgeable, patient & friendly. Julia called to check on me after the procedure, which I thought was so nice, it's the little things for me:) I've been to other dental offices and let me tell you that I highly recommend NW Dental. They strive to provide the best possible care to every patient. They really do have an outstanding team and they all do such a great job.

The front staff is always cordial and if you have to wait more than 5 minutes to get to your appointment, I would be surprised. Very efficient office. Azra is my tech and she is AWESOME!!! She is very knowledgeable, very efficient, gentle, and does a fantastic job. Plus she lets you hold the suction thing when she needs 2 hands...FUN!!!! Dr. Palmer himself is an AWESOME dentist. My previous dentist tried about 5 crowns on me to fix a tooth. So it was the usual, grind, cap with a temp, send home, send off for the crown, wait 3 weeks, come back, get crown installed, break crown, then wash-rinse-repeat. Dr. Palmer takes a 3D image of your tooth and then fashions the crown ON SITE. Yup. No waiting. No coming back. He has this cool machine that 3D mills your crown THERE. I think I am 5 years in and still no problems with the crown. On top of that he is super nice and friendly. He really takes time to explain everything and is very personable. Living close to this establishment and not going here would be like going to the Louvre and not seeing the Mona Lisa. It just makes no sense. So. Awesome staff? Check. Good location? Check. The hygienist was very thorough in taking x-rays, and taking pics of teeth, which I have never had pics taken before. The hygienist and doctor thoroughly explained the treatment plan. My only concern was that I was refused a general routine cleaning -- I felt so shortchanged with this visit. I felt that this dental visit was incomplete for me. I had gloved hands, instruments, and cotton in my mouth, and didn't even get a rinse after exam! I was told that I needed a deep clean (which cost hundreds of dollars), which I understand is the doctor's recommendation, but I would think that the patient could have a choice. From what I can remember most of my teeth did not need a deep clean as much as a few; but I still could not get routine clean. It would have been nice to have clean mouth until I could afford to get deep cleaning; but now I have to look for a dental group that can give me a cleaning without an exam. I guess this is a Houston thing--refusing general cleaning. This is the second dental group in Houston that did this (the first dental group the dentist said teeth were fine, but it was the hygienist who was pushing deep clean for $700+). The first time this happened, I had to fly out of town to go to my previous dentist that I regularly frequented in the past. Got a thoroughly cleaning which included scaling, polishing and flossing. I also received toothbrush to take home, which I did not receive from the Palmer dental office until I had to ask for one. Again, I feel so shortchanged.

Every staff member was extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions without being pushy. I never felt like they were upselling as I have felt in other offices. You take the elevator to the 11th floor and find a beautifully decorated waiting room with teal/brown decor, orchids, and a calming ambiance. You ring the door bell next to the office door to let them know you are there and then take a seat. I was taken back and Lindsay took my x-rays--5 total, which was a pleasant surprise because I am used to having to take about 20. The last x-ray was taken while I stood and the machine rotated around my head. After my cleaning, I swished the fluoride treatment, rather than having to do a tray with the nasty gel. I was then fitted for a complimentary whitening tray and a mouth guard to prevent grinding my teeth while I sleep. Lindsay was very sweet and personable. She did an excellent job gently cleaning my chompers. Dr. Krell was out on vacation so I saw Dr. Matt Guerre, who was very kind. He and Lindsay did an excellent job explaining details of my examination. I have Aetna insurance and Dr. Krell was out of network for me, but Dr. Guerre was not, so I saved about $300 on my mouth guard as well. What a happy coincidence that was! Pam took my payment and was very friendly and welcoming. I picked up my complimentary whitening tray and whitening accessories a week later. Two weeks later went in for my mouth guard fitting. The staff was wonderful for every visit. I'd recommend Dr. Krell and Matt Guerre to all of my friends and family in the Houston area.
