Coffee was perfect... I needed a pick me up and have never been, I liked the latte with caramel better than Starbucks!

We took a look at the photo display set up in the front. We ordered at the counter and I asked for advice. The staff member offered helpful input. I ordered the healthiest most delicious porridge. My husband ordered the avocado toast with bacon and an egg. He really enjoyed the chili crunch oil. We ordered a cardamom latte with cold foam and a salted caramel. We added on a biscuit with bourbon butter to go! The arrangement of the floor was spacious. The bathrooms were family and seemed sufficient for wheelchair users.

I got a you-pick-two with red pepper soup and a strawberry salad. While I was deciding, my eyes wandered over to the baked goods (this is absolutely a trend with me) and I saw a peanut butter pretzel cookie....whaaaaat? No way this wasn't going in my belly! Then I glanced over to the drink case and I saw....Topo Chico! In Murphysville, IL?!? This place stands out for curating the best in a small town. Now I'm really excited for my lunch! And it did not disappoint. The red pepper soup was roasty and hearty, definitely a good choice for this chilly weather. And the strawberry salad was fresh and refreshing. Does that make sense? The ingredients were so fresh and crisp - sweet strawberries in January I'd no small feat! - but it was light and hit the perfect note as an accompaniment to the red pepper soup. And that cookie? Do I even need to tell you how delicious it was? I didn't even offer my friend a bite. I ate the whole thing and I'm not ashamed. So good! A delicious lunch and nice respite in a small Illinois town. Worth going out of your way, for sure!

I'll start with the good: the tea and the service. I got the brown sugar milk tea with tapioca balls. One-third sweetness. It was nicely executed -- though, IMO, the boba was slightly overdone/too soft. I also met the owner, who was super nice and talkative. That said, I do have suggestions for improvement. First, gotta get classic milk tea as an option. Brown sugar is the closest, but there's nothing like the more traditional flavor. Second, a website with address and hours would be helpful. It was very hard to find Koala Tea online, and impossible to find it on Apple Maps.

Once we got there we decided to order White Peach Yogurt Slush + tapioca pearls and honeydew milk tea + mango star jelly. It took around 10 minutes for our order to come out and unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. Honey Dew milk tea was too sweet where too much powder was used, white peach yogurt slush was watered down too much, and tapioca pearls were slightly overdone which made it too soft. Unfortunately, we could not finish our drinks. The atmosphere wise it was clean and there were comfy-looking sofas that were being utilized by staff and their friends/family members. When we visited there were no trash bins to throw out straw plastic or cups. It looks like a great place to get a drink, sit down, and study. but improvement is needed for their drinks P.S. We posted review on google but it seems like they are deleting their shop all together to remove bad review... kinda shady and against Consumer Review Fairness Act...

I found aloe vera juice, spring roll wrappers, pho noodles, etc. You would never be able to find that at a Kroger's. The man who works here is very nice and accommodating. If there is something you need, he will try to get it for you (even if it's out of stock). The only downside is that they have no fresh seafood, but that is something I can live without. They were crunchy and delicious (a great chip replacement). I saw durian popsicles, too. Crazy. There were great cheeses I never find at the regular grocery store, including Kashkawan (or Kashkaval) cheese...one of my favorites. I also found Thai tea, tahini, horchata mix, and many many other delicious fabulous things for me to experiment with. The guy running the place was super helpful and friendly. I think the prices are reasonable. I saw some of the same international items at the grocery store for a higher price. There was plenty of parking.

I was interested in trying their baked treats, and upon my visit, I found exactly what I wanted to get. The menu variety was good. They offer cookies, pastries, breakfast meals, lunch meals like sandwiches, etc. The pricing was reasonable. I got a Pink Cookie (Southern IL specialty), a Chocolate Chunk Walnut cookie, a Date Walnut cookie, something called an Orange Chipper (a type of cookie), as well as an Italian sandwich (called Bakery Sub on the menu). The Date Walnut cookie was my top favorite. It was soft and also crunchy where the walnuts were. The Orange Chipper was my next favorite, followed by the Pink Cookie (iced frosting shortbread cookie). The sandwich was loaded and had a good flavor. The deli meats (ham, and salami) were fresh. The service was good. This was a gem of a find for me and I would go back there again when visiting Carbondale. Definitely recommended.
