Loved Small Town Scoop! A large menu of ice cream desserts as well as a food menu. From ice cream nachos to flights, there are a lot of great options for ice cream. You can smell the fresh waffle cones as you walk in to the shop. There's a ton of space to sit and parking is on the street but easy. Can't wait to return! Tried: Ice cream flight of 4 Loved: the service was great, the staff was so friendly as we came in and left. The ice cream flavors were all great and the homemade waffle cone was great.

Really cute shop in downtown. The choice of ice cream flavors is amazing and you might take a while to choose just one. Choose scoops or indulge in some awesome specialties which will happily throw your diet for a loop! Besides ice cream, can enjoy hot chocolate, affogato. Go for lunch with some yummy wraps, sandwiches, lunch specials and a pretzel the size of a small child!Fireplace going, sit and play a game of tic tac toe at your table or sit in comfort by the fire. Service great! Not going to pass by this place easily going through town!

The ice cream is delicious. The grandkids loved it! The staff was friendly. There's so much potential for this place. They have a large party room available for parties. Colorful and inviting. I would love to see this place stick around.

I had lunch at Scoops and was surprised to see they have a gluten-free menu section. Total win for me.

I've been here twice, and there's a lot to like. The strawberry and Nutella dessert crepe is on…read morepoint, and goes well with strawberry or vanilla ice cream. The roast beef savory crepe is also tasty -- though a little light on meat. In terms of the milk tea, it is passable. The tapioca pearls are cooked properly, but the tea itself is nothing special. That said, for the price, it's hard to go wrong. The interior could use some work. It's a bit run down, and the paper towel dispensers in the bathroom don't work great. Meanwhile, the service is solid. They were very patient and friendly with my kids.

Prices aren't that bad either even with it being one of the nicer restaurants around here. The crepes can be meaty or vegetarian among the many options. Basically this place is all staffed by SIU students with it being close to the campus. It's a scenario that seems like a recipe for disaster. That's not the case entirely. Can be a bit of a wait of course. The menu isn't that big, so it helps keep things running smoother. It's about $5 for a crepe. They have savory and sweet. Among the savory ones, we tried the mushroom. These were good and light enough that we didn't get filled up. For dessert you can get sweet ones. These include fruit fillings and whipped cream on top. Good place for tea and crepes. It's located on University Avenue at Mill Street. They frequently close for school events and vacations.

The fact that a small town like Carbondale has a co-op is a big plus. The story behind the co-op is…read morevery heartwarming to hear. Anyone can be an owner too! This place was great to come here because this place had a huge selection of vegan options to choose from. For me they had my health conscious drinks. The meals itself were pretty cheap. Even crazier is that this place sold vegan pizza! Other than that the store has a lot of great practical finds. The grocery prices are not too bad either compared to other co-ops. The dining section is very clean and well maintained. Staff here is also really friendly and helpful as well. I do think that the store facade let alone a whole strip mall needs to be updated. Clean restrooms as well and they always inform you about local events happening at the grocery store. Consistent daily deals with weekday specials. Great store to support!

Neighborhood Co-Op is one of those places you can become a member at and get discounts and other things. Maybe the prices are kind of high, but there's a lot of harder to find items. There's a lot in here for plant based eating, as well as for those wanting to eat healthier, and local. Came to get a few things while on a visit and got more than expected. It's bigger than it looks. There's a lot of aisles, and has a good amount of baked goods, along with some pretty fresh produce. A lot of natural and organic items. They have a lot of the Applegate Farms products if you want organic meats and sausage. Of course there's plenty of plant based. They have non dairy items like nut milks and yogurts. In the bakery there was vegan zucchini bread. The prices in here are kind of high, but if you become a member you get coupons and specials. Has to be a stop if you're shopping for organics around here. It's located in the Murdale Shopping Center on West Main Street. There's a ton of things for vegans and vegetarians.
