I ordered the nachos, plain and simple. After reading extensive reviews, I rolled the dice and wanted to see if their chips were gluten free (celiac-safe). They were! They serve chips and salsa at the table. I would wholeheartedly recommend the chips and nachos as gluten free. I didn't get sick! The chicken was cooked to perfection. This place was a true treat! First off it doesn't look like much from the outside. It was a former fast food restaurant converted into what it is today. I was staying next door at the hotel and thought I could go for a meal and some drinks before calling it a night. Decent amount of seating for a small restaurant. Both inside and outside seating. It was slow so the I sat at the bar to watch the Monday night game and talk with the bartender and team. To my surprise they offered a small menu and small list of in-house drinks. Little did I know that this was intentionally done. How often do you go to a restaurant and they sell the same thing as the restaurant down the street. Probably same vendor to be honest. Not I Am Nacho Mama! After looking over them menu I found that the prices weren't the greatest but everything sounded fantastic. Now I will say the prices are reasonable for what you get, both in food and quality! They gave me some chips and salsa. Nothing fancy but was very tomato pasted based. Chips looked home made. I ended up getting the half chicken and let me make this clear. This thing was fall off the bone, seasoned through and through with a delicious dipping sauce. I mean I completely devoured this plate savoring every last bite. Presentation was beautiful but I have no idea why that gave me a knife. It was not needed! The sides were good by themselves but I was informed to pour out the second sauce on top to enhance the flavor and boy did it. I paired this with a jalapeño margarita that was just the right heat with a smooth finish. At the end of it all I had the pleasure of talking with the head chef and this guy has true passion for what he put out. Don't let the name fool you. It may scream Mexican restaurant but this is very much a modern take on every day foods with Hispanic food culture and he nailed it. Our overall experience was excellent. My wife and I stopped at I Am Nacho Mama after reading the good reviews on Yelp. We were greeted warmly by staff and seated right away. We both ordered Mama Cuba sandwiches, the restaurant's take on a Cuban sandwich. It was spiced perfectly. The chips and salsa were excellent; the chips cooked in tallow. Yum. We all ordered a variety of tacos (steak, marinated chicken, and lechón) for lunch which were mouth watering delicious and made with fresh ingredients. We sat outside and had a good time on the patio while a storm rolled in. We stumbled along Nacho Mama while I was driving, I saw the sign and told the wife let's stop and grab some goodies for the kiddos. So happy we did the establishment is family owned everyone is very friendly. The service was top tier and they were packed for a Friday night and the chief was legit and very attentive. The door was delish I had the holy trinity and let me tell you it was delish! I paired it with the empanada red cream sauce and sheeesh I did a lil dance. The wife and daughter had the chicken nachos and they both were in a food coma afterwards. The interior was charming and had Bible verses all around. The quesadillas had high-quality cheese with a great cheese pull. The pico de gallo, rice, and beans in my bowl were incredibly flavorful and rich--honestly, the best I've ever had. The guacamole and salsa were also excellent, fresh and full of flavor. The guacamole was full of large chunks of raw onion - it tasted like a bowl of onions. The cheese dip was good, no jalapenos but tasty. Both those appetizers are small servings - individual size. The Cuban sandwich was so bad I only ate half of it even though I was hungry. We've had a lot of great Cuban sandwiches, even in Mexican places, but not here. Chopped cabbage and more raw onion mixed with a tiny bit of meat- garbage! (except for the bread, it was good). If you want to share a plate that's an extra 10 bucks. More chips? Two bucks. Water? Stopped by "I am Nacho Mama" for a quick lunch. Ambiance is of a typical Mexican restaurant. Not too many people inside for lunch at 12pm on a Thursday so we were seated rather quickly. Overall the service was slow and they got a few things we ordered wrong. Our server seemed completely out of it just flustered and discombobulated too expensive for the very small portions. Appetizers were terrible. The salsa taste like pizza sauce. The cheese is very watered down and only good if you put the house hot sauce in it. The final appetizer was called griddled queso and we believed it to be a done up version of the queso and come to find out it was 3 slabs of grilled cheese. Amazing food, incredible service, perfect vibe, I went in because they have grass-fed beef tallow fried chips! Which is enough to make me happy. But I have now found my new favorite restaurant. Almost every restaurant I go to, I think, "I could have made better this at home." I know that's arrogant, but it's mostly true. The reason for eating out is more about not putting the effort into cooking and cleaning at home. This meal may have started with that motivation, but it ended with absolute rave reviews from my entire family. And we are still talking about it this morning. The best customer service I have ever received anywhere in my 32 years of life. It was cute inside, and there was a nice outdoor seating where they also cooked the food on a grill on a pateo with handing lights. The food was shockingly delicious. I ordered chicken, a basic food in my opinion, but it was seasoned perfectly and tender/juicy all the way through. The main reason I decided to leave a review on this place though is because I felt like family inside this restaurant. The owners, waiters, cooks, and other servers all greeted us, asked us how things were, and at appropriate times checked in with smiles on their faces and personal recommendations. The lady who claims to be "nacho mama" actually feels like she could be your mama. At first the price of the food seems high, but once you see the amount they serve and the quality it's well worth the purchase. Unlike other restaurants, the nachos with salsa is not unlimited so be aware that you will be charged for each basket you ask to be refilled. We ordered queso to dip the nachos in and the queso got hard quickly, but it still tasted great and you could scoop it out with a hard nacho. Dinner for two and one appetizer with tip, NO cocktails, just one sweet tea was $80.00. The food was good not $80 good. They offer a lunch menu and a larger dinner menu that starts at 5. They were an established and beloved restaurant up in NY and have brought their cuisine and passion to Georgia. I was welcomed and kindly had the door opened for me. My server brought out some salsa and tallow fried chips (still warm - love that!). I ordered off the lunch menu and tried the Guacamole, Nacho Cheesy Rice Balls (like Arancini) and the Picanha (steak) bowl. The guac was fresh and well made. The rice balls were tasty and had a nice crunch. The Picanha bowl was the star of the show and had come fresh off the grill and was seared happiness. It is served over cilantro lime turmeric rice and beans. It is served "Mama's Way" which is topped with lettuce, pico de gallo, cilantro and cream. The aroma from that bowl was heavenly. I had to try a dessert and went with their flan rather than the churros. The flan was paired with a perfect rum! Last the restroom was very clean and tidy. The queso was some basic white cheese that had be the consistency (and looks) of sweetened condensed milk. The server recommenced the burrito. It was overloaded with yellow rice, wilted warm lettuce, and a few pieces of fatty meat. When we asked for hot sauce, we were given a thimble sized plastic cup of some mayonnaise style pink sauce. Just visited this place for the first time last night and I am obsessed with it. I hesitated going here and now I'm am regretting it. The food and service is top notch. I have ever experienced such a flawless dining experience in my life. The food is pricey but don't let that fool you it is well worth every penny. Omg!! Went here after the summer waves water park and what amazing food!! We went 15 deep and the service was amazing by Carlos and his wife. The pic ha a player is to die for! Meat was so tender with the chimichuri sauce, I also tried the trio tacos that were bomb!! The tostones were amazing along with the mexi-cola wings! Kids loved them and I have picky kids. The quesadilla was a Piccadillo style that had us floored! We also tried the hous beer which was really good and the fruit juices of mango and lemonade. He also topped it off with a cafe con leche and a small Bundt cake with chocolate mint and guava strawberry sauce.
