I & I is a small craft brewery with a large variety of beer. The whole place has a reggae vibe and every Thursday there is even a live reggae band. The place was pretty packed! They have live music a few other nights of the week along with a trivia night on Tuesdays. No food is served but you can bring your own. Being that it was my first time, I went with a flight of 5 beers for $10. My favorites were the Peach Wheat and the Honey Cream. They were so light and fresh. I also tried the Sessions IPA which was very hoppy, the Dubbel which was similar to a stout, and Jamaica which just tasted like juice to me. The style of beers on tap are varied so I think that no matter what your taste is, you will find something to your liking. Large bottle fills are available, rather than growlers. The vibe of the whole brewery is very friendly and welcoming so while there aren't a ton of places to sit, its a nice place to hang out and relax. read more

I drove all the way down here to get my dedicated I&I growlers filled and it was around 6:30pm. The girl tells me that they cannot fill my growlers because of the band? I came here with my friend on a Tuesday afternoon and we had the whole brewery to ourselves. We had a Groupon deal which came with two flights and two pints of beer for $19- I thought it was a pretty good deal. Venue: It was a pretty small with plenty of tables, but not sure how crowded it gets during high traffic times. They had 10 beers on tap, so we had the chance to try all their beers. If you like fruity beer, they have plenty: Jamaica, Pomegranate Tripel, and Kumquat Citra. The Jamaica tastes like Lindemans Framboise Raspberry without the raspberry. Very tasty and refreshing on a hot day. Other memorable beers we tried: +Wheat Double IPA: Pretty light flavor, however it wasn't as hoppy as I expected it to be. +Pomegranate Tripel: My friend's favorite- don't be fooled by the fruity taste because it is pretty high in alcohol content. Overall, I think this is a decent local brewery and would stop by again if I am in the area. read more

Have you ever wanted something to work out SO, SO BAD that your willing to overlook the not so great things? Yeah me too, right here at I&I First of let me establish my cred: I'm a fan of the small, independent breweries. In LA where I work I was at the opening of personally converted 100's to Angel City, Smog City and Craftsman breweries, heck I even trolled Golden Road Brewery before they went rogue and sold out. My current favorite is Claremont Craft Ale Brewery. So with that I give you I&I's challenges: 1. If the best selling highest rated product is a lemonade=Jamaica that says it all. BTW it is delish and to be tried heck take a gallon! Beer is fresh, ales hoppy they are just not that interesting with the exception of Jackfruit Tripel. 2. Not enough chairs, even for a tasting room. Board games are nice but they keep people in the tables not ordering, you don't have enough room guys! If you have to stand at the bar area at least put a foot rest at the bottom of the bar, again no seats c'mon! 3. Service is good though! Anyways place has been around for 4 years and given how close I am I hope they experiment, ask customers for feedback and check out the comp so they can improve. read more

The place is chill, kinda a Rasta Cantina, Two bartenders doing their best to serve at the counter on busy Friday night. So if its busy, don't expect table service. The place is so small that after a loud group has a few beers, they are throwing down the blur of personal space. After a while, adjustment sets in and it's enjoyable for awhile. Great place! Very low key and great selection of beer that rotate often. They have something for every palate and even try to make something for non beer drinkers. Warning...They do serve beer in plastic cups. When we decided we would definitely be back we purchased pint glasses that we can take each time. They even offer to clean them and then we can decide to use during the week or leave in our car for a brewery trip. I'd been wanting to go to I&I for a while, so when a situation arose and I needed a growler for a beer tasting party, I was totally excited to hit I&I on the way to get some of what I was told was UNIQUE beers! FINALLY! Unfortunately, when we arrived, it was not to be so. The beer selection was pared down to very few and all of them were your standard run of the mill beers... none of the interesting and unique flavors I'd been told about. We got a few taster sized drinks to try what they had at least so we could decide what growler to get - kind of weird they don't do a taster flight, but I guess it probably works out the same, buying them separately. They don't have the cool little glass tasters, but serve in plastic throw away cups, also odd - don't think I've had that before at a brewery. The worst part was they had NO growlers, so we went out of our way to go there to pick up a growler and were out of luck. We probably would have just bailed without tasting if we had realized, but we went ahead and kicked it for a few and finished our beers. The ones we tried were all decent... well, one was way too sweet for me. I've already forgotten them, so I guess i wasn't super excited by anything. I will probably go back and give them another chance though. I totally get that things happen, but I hope when I go back they have some of that amazing beer that my friends have raved about. We definitely want to come back when the wall is full of more choices. They only had about 6-7 beers to choose from on a Saturday night. The sampler was an awesome way to find out what types of beers you like and don't like. I like to stick with beers that are light in color & my favorite was the peach one. Interesting out of the way spot, a little hard to find and it was nearly deserted when I showed up early on a Tuesday. The beer board had openings for about 30 beers but they only had about 10 on tap when I stopped in. Not too thrilled that they didn't have a sampler/flight option, but instead you could pay for 3 oz samples ranging from $2-3 each. Elected to try the root beer Belgian, the black rye IPA and imperial IPA and thought they were all decent. Of the 3 I thought the root beer stood out the most. Not a ton of room inside so not quite sure what it'd be like on a busy day and/or if they had a band playing. Not bad, but nothing mind blowing overall, especially after I had just visited the Bruery and Hangar 24. read more

Local craft brewery that I'm proud to say I will support. They attended the Chino Brew & Chew event and I've been a fan ev'a since. We've moseyed over a few times during the week just before they close and they've always been gracious for our patronage. It does tend to get crowded on Friday around 8PM and it can be standing room since they only have a few bar stools. Games are available to be played but I come for the great taste and ambiance. Been here several times and it's consistent. Not great simply ok. Biggest problem is most of their beers are not made to style. Carbonation is excessively low / beers as flat as an ice tea. Sorry guys there are too many other quality places that are head and shoulder above these mediocre beers. I'm not new to brewing, 40 years in the industry. Love this place. Yup, it's in chino, and in an industrial park - but woot! There are a number of tall rounds, plenty of items on tap, some rotating, some standard. I'm a pretty un-adventurous drinker - as in - wheats, sours, porters and stouts. They have had at least 2 drinkable options for me every time i have gone and they help me pick based on my "limited" hop ability! Always friendly, always fun! read more

Sigh...plastic cups? Really? It's a shame when a decent to good beer is served in plastic cups....I'm not at a backyard bbq or an amusement park....no need for this. When I questioned the beertender about this she stammered on about "health code violations" so I left wondering if there was in fact a violation. She did say that I could buy a glass...pay for it to get it engraved...then they'd store it for me. Really...the beer is good...but not pay for my own glass...get it engraved good. The head brewer/owner (I assume) was out front smoking with an employee so I didn't want to bother him (he looked preoccupied) and ask him about this Dixie cup nonsense. The beer was pretty alright...the Jamaica cider was good...a great drink for the non beer drinkers. The Golden Ale was good too...but again...the plastic cup kinda ruined it... Well where do I begin... Came out here to see a special someone and to do a little mid-day beer drinking that we are both so fond of. Yet options that way are limited when it comes to mid-week and noon drinking as most breweries around there don't open til later in the afternoon. My special someone had been there before but had a poor experience herself a while back and was curious to see if it got any better, and seeing as I had never been, i was up to experience it for myself. What a polished turd this place was. I'll start by saying though I am Cicerone certified, i never let that entitle me to beer snobbery. I am an enthusiast, I love all kinds of beer and beer styles, light and dark, lagers and ales alike. I also love breweries that attempt to make stand-out beers that might be unique and aren't blatantly making basic recipe beers and beer clone recipes of other famously made beers from other breweries. So what did I think of I and I? Well let me tell you... Hard to find as some breweries are due to most of them being in industrial areas in boring buildings, but they have no sign appeal on the outside to say "HEY, OVER HERE ASSHOLE, WE ARE A BREWERY". Their actual business logo looks like a law firm's logo or some shit you see on the corner of a business card. It's got no style, nothing that i feel legitimately represents them as a brewery, especially one themed to kind of be into Reggae/Jamaican Culture (which is also near and dear to my heart). Put a fuckin Lion of Judah on that shit or something! Hell hit me up and i'll do you a logo up! Anything is better than what you have! Inside the taproom side was alright, basic, small, its clean, has a couple 6-7 laid out bar tables with stools, bar counter, posters up high with mainly reggae inspired groups, a sticker wall of other somewhat local breweries, and a board of beers offered above the counter. There was one beertender who was working the whole time and did a solid job helping us out, one smoking all the time which, im not really sure what the point of her was, if only to play footsies with who i assume was the brewmaster/owner, who was also doing the same and periodically coming in to toss some ingredients in an almost cavalier manner, didn't seem like he gave too many shits, which really came out in the beer. Now the beer.... We ordered two flights at first, my gal got a "fruit flight" which had all of their fruit inspired options: a jamaica shandy, a banana dubbel, a pomegranate tripel, a peach wheat and something else I can't remember, it was forgettable anyways. I ordered the brewery staples: the Pale Ale, a stout, a porter, irish red and also another i can't remember as it was also forgettable. Jamaica Shandy: Gross, too sweet, maybe something non-beer drinkers like but, not me. Banana Dubbel: Started with a sickly sweet note that turned to rubbing alcohol quick. Just nothing enjoyable about this, left a bad aftertaste, the nose on it was offensive, totally unwelcoming. And it was a possibility that instead of giving us the pomegranate tripel, they gave us a second pour of this. Pomegranate Tripel: See above description. Peach Wheat: Well it was drinkable, that's a start. Aside from that, i didn't really taste any notes of peach or fruits at all really, not even notes that i would really find in a wheat beer, it lacked any substance, just felt like i was drinking a plain ol beer. Pale Ale: Not bad, not good, just is. It was slightly one of the better beers (only slightly), at least i could taste a bit of the hops to distinguish that it was a pale ale as opposed to the peach wheat. But it was also lacking in every aspect, just very shruggable. Irish Red: Can't remember much about it if i'm honest, i don't think it was the best or the worst, I don't think about it at all really. Stout: well it has the roasty dark flavors of a stout, but not the heartiness you get from one, it lacked body, it was almost watered down in my opinion. Another one to shrug about. Porter: MY favorite of the bunch and the one i ordered for the rest of my visit. It had similarities of the stout, those roasted coffee-like malty notes, also lighter-bodied, but that's usually a difference between a stout and a porter, whereas the stout shouldn't have, the porter did, and that makes it a little more okay with me. Note all these words I used here, some more than once... lacked, shruggable, forgettable... It all sums up that in my personal opinion and experience, this place brews with NO HEART! Where is the love in your beers? Why don't you care? Where is the quality and commitment? Are you giving up? Are you in over your head? Have you already GAVE UP? You can take this review, and tell me to shove it up my ass, or you can take it as a wake-up call and do something about it, hopefully the latter. It can only get better right? Or? I've never written a review before but today's interactions prompted me to do this... I walked in with my girlfriend (bi racial couple), the bartenders were rude. We asked for suggestions on their beer selection. The bartender seemed uneducated on their beer. Lucky for us the owner chimed in with a good suggestion. On top of that, when I ordered our beers, the bartender had the audacity to ask if I'm paying together or separate. Who asks if a couple is paying separate? Very offensive. Great local brewery in the area, they got growlers to take home and if you buy their own then its $1 to refill. I went to it after some time when the moved to a new location from the original location which is much more bigger and accommodating. Whats nice is they even have some board games to try out which helps past the time. I haven't gone where there was a live band so definitely gotta next time when there is. I like their selection of brews from light to heavy drinks which would be great especially if you're trying to get people into beer. I would recommend purchasing their own glass and bring it with on future trips for sure. read more

Looooots of variety on tap here, with some interesting flavors. We tried the pekoe tea, honey blonde, cantaloupe, banana dubbel, and hibiscus for our first round, as well as the robust porter and the Irish red. Not the best, not the worst -- I would prefer a stronger body all around here, but the flavors are light and easy, clean and bright. Interesting selection, very novel, and I'll probably be back for that. They do serve in plastic-ware for some reason, and it really brings the atmosphere down for me. Beer should be served on draft in a proper glass. I hope this is addressed soon. The space is nice, bright and inviting, with kind of a rasta/reggae feel from the decor to the music. The owner and bartender are nice and helpful as well, though I didn't interact with them much. A little pricier here -- no flights per se, so tasters of each draft vary in cost, and come in plastic shots. Sampling 7, the total came out to $18 which is pricier than other breweries in the area. I hope they can kick it up a notch at I & I. There's a ton of potential here, and I'll be back once in a while to see how they're getting along. Came in on a Friday night with my fiancee and met with some friends. Its was a night where they had live reggae/island music. I believe they do this every Friday.. i could be wrong, but I must say it was pretty poppin. Like a mini live concert. The band that night was really good. Everyone was jiving and dancing all night to their tune. The bar was pretty packed. Normally i would do flights to test out different beers, but that night i had to just pick one beer since there was no table room. To me it did not seem like a brewery, it seemed more like a bar and grille feeling without the grille. Which is not a bad thing. Its a change up from your typical warehouse breweries. I and I threw in that twist. Good job I and I- Love what you've done with the place/beers/entertainment. Beers: BBAespressoRIS. 13% i believe it was. Now this Russian Imperial Stout was superb! Total sipping/savor enjoy the flavor stout. I had a chance to try a few sips of the Banana Dubbel, but i couldnt resist but get another BBA. Banana was my fiancee choice of beer that night.
