A very decent boba place, but nothing super exceptional. Located in the food court area of 99 ranch, Chun Yang Tea is a cute little boba pitstop right behind Piju drinking. Parking is easy since it's in a large plaza for grocery store patrons. Instead of walking through the 99 ranch store entrance, I used their food hall door. I walked right inside and noticed they had 5 other food areas, though I don't recall any of them besides the bar. I walked up to the boba shop and there wasn't a cashier, only a kiosk. The bobarista was actually enjoying his meal. He quickly got up to assist me and my order. As I stood around, I watched him make my drink while looking at the decor. He made my drink fairly quickly and I was able to drink it while going grocery shopping. The green tea is decent and the boba had a good chewy consistency and size. The purple rice was very interesting and unique! It was my first time having a topping like it and it's exactly what it sounds like: rice in milk tea. Overall a decent boba spot. I need to come back to try other drinks. Nothing makes it memorable for me just yet, but I'm willing to come back to try it again! read more

I had a lovely experience at Chun Yang Tea (Chino). I ordered the Osmanthus Honey Oolong Tea ($5.99 - 30% Sugar - Quarter Ice). WOW!! It's one of the BEST! I felt my stress immediately fade away as this chill, crisp tea carried me along a honeyed, happy adventure. In that moment, I found unadulterated, bottled joy. (Important Note: Cash is not accepted. Bring Card or Contactless Payment. Also, be wary of the sugar levels if sensitive. I selected 30% sugar, and it still fired a welcomed, punchy sugary taste.) I arrived at Chun Yang Tea (Chino) on Tuesday (around 3:21PM). Parking is very easy. The lot is HUGE! Chun Yang Tea (Chino) is a stall in the Eat Up Food Court inside the 99 Ranch Store. Customers primarily order at the self-service kiosk. Customers can also order at the counter, but Staff speaks limited English. Staff is very hardworking and professional. My drink took about one minute. FAST!! As mentioned, I absolutely adored the Osmanthus Honey Oolong Tea ($5.99 - 30% Sugar - Quarter Ice). I had to hold back the instinct to cry tears of joy. The tea flavor is prominent, fresh, and not burnt. The liquid is honey-like, thirst-quenching, and refreshing. I absolutely LOVE this drink. I had to immediately fight back the urge to purchase another. On ambiance, Chun Yang Tea (Chino) surprised me. It's located in a foodcourt, but the location felt clean, well-ventilated, and useful. I saw several flat screen TVs playing the baseball game with English captions. Upbeat, playful music chimed. And there's a Gender Neutral restroom several feet away. In addition, the location is spacious. There's over seven nearby tables. And there's two available electrical outlets nearby the stall. However, if I had to nitpick, there's a very faint scent of the Asian grocery store in the background. It's very faint, but it's noticeable. Overall, I found myself gobsmacked and enthusiastic from my experience at Chun Yang Tea (Chino). The tea is affordable, high-quality, and TASTY! It's one of the best! This is purely based on 1 drink from here, and it wasn't even my drink. I just loved my sister's drink so much that I wanted to add a review out of appreciation :P My sister ordered the #1 drink on the menu (had a crown next to it): Osmanthus Honey Oolong Tea, quarter ice, 30% sugar. I was surprised it was 30% sugar bc it still tasted sweet (though perfectly so). My whole face lit up after 1 sip, so I had to have another one, haha. The drink just felt very cohesive and fresh, and the tea flavor was pretty clear, which I enjoy. I think one of the main staff member knows me before I even walk up to the counter! Yes, that's how often I went and how frequently I ordered the same drink. Introducing... PAPAPYA MILK! Yes, their papaya milk slush tastes exactly like the ones in Taiwan. No adjustment needed! It is not too sweet for an asian like me. Besides papaya milk, I tried almost every category on their menu and they were all pretty good. Just let their staff know how you like your boba and they'll make it according to your preferences! Their wait time differ between days. Expect a bit of a wait on a busy weekend night. They do have plenty of waiting area as the food court is pretty quiet most times - such an improvement from their SG location. Good thing is they opened their online ordering system recently so feel free to utilize it for a smoother pickup. Now that I spilled the tea, please be kind don't order all of their papaya in one go. I got their fresh milk with purple rice which is chewy and not too sweet. I also got their sugar cane with lemon with lychee toppings. I like that the sweetness and ice level can be adjusted. I've been wanting to try this new boba spot in the area for a while but they always happen to be near closing (8pm) when I've wanted to go haha. I'm so glad I was able to try them finally! The roasted oolong tea latte with no sugar was good! I would say, the reason why this is not a 5 star shop is because the tea was slightly overpowered by the milk. Also, note to my future self: less ice was still a good amount of ice. The roasted oolong taste was there but definitely not as prevalent due to the milk ratio. Just FYI for those who are particular with milks, the use Horizon organic milk (really good quality and love that it's organic). For oat milk, they use Oatly. Love the location as it's great to grab a drink and do some grocery shopping. Come support this small shop! read more

I came here on their soft opening day and was excited to see how they compare to the San Gabriel location. This is located in the food court area in the 99 ranch (previously Cravings). They didn't have menus available on their TV screens yet so that caused a bit of a line since people weren't able to look at drink options until they got to the cash register. The staff taking the order was very friendly and knowledgeable, explaining which drinks may be sweeter to help you adjust your sweetness level. I got the Pomelo oolong (one of my favorite) with green tea jelly, kumquat lemon fruit tea, osmanthus honey oolong tea, and osmanthus honey oolong tea latte. The staff recommended the osmanthus as their popular drink so I got that out of their recommendation. The osmanthus itself is very floral in flavor so if you don't like floral drinks, I would get something else. It is also on the sweeter side due to the honey so even with 50% sweetness level, I would probably adjust it to lower. Overall all the drinks had great flavor and I liked how you can choose the types of milk options available! Overall ambiance was nice, lots of parking options available since it's inside the grocery store plaza. Seating area also readily available since there's actually not a lot of food stalls opened. I waited a good 30 minutes for my drinks, but I'm hoping that it's just due to the soft opening. Will definitely come back and give them another try! read more

ORDERED: Wintermelon Latte (70% sweet) + Almond Jelly TASTE: Delicious! Wintermelon is a go to flavor at boba drinks and I think Chun Yang does a great job. Almond jelly isn't a common topping option so when a place has it, I usually order to see how it is. Their almond jelly is not overly sweet and smooth. It's great to add to milky drinks. SERVICE: Standard service. We went during opening weekend so they had a Buy One Get One 50% Off deal. There were others ordering like 10+ drinks at a time so we did have a little bit of a wait. But it wasn't anything out of the norm when they're making 20 something drinks before ours lol. He did also make sure to inform us to shake our drink to mix it before enjoying. VIBES: It is part of the food court inside 99 Ranch so super casual. Plenty of seating if you wanted to hangout but probs not a study spot. PARKING: Plenty of parking! The other location is in San Gabriel which I've gone to a couple of times and that one has horrendous parking so I'm glad this location is nice and easy lol. TLDR: A decent boba spot. They're known for their oolong drinks but their wintermelon is great. I recommend almond jelly if you want a different topping to try. I'm SO happy that Chun Yang Tea finally opened near my place! I used to go to the one in San Gabriel. Their teas are incredibly fragrant and taste amazing. My absolute favorite is the Osmanthus Oolong Tea with tapioca mochi at 30% sugar - it's perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and so refreshing. You don't need to get the expensive one at another tea place in chino hills (the famous one that sell Barley Tea with tapioca mochi, if you know which one I'm talking about) If you love tea and tapioca mochi, you definitely need to try this place. Great quality drinks and customer service. The server asked us questions which allowed him to better serve us. For example, there were different milk options and when we chose the oat milk, he suggested we try their milk that was lactose free because the tea would taste better with their milk. My wife is lactose intolerant and therefore we normally choose oat milk. I realize the server understood our situation and made a great recommendation out of it. So happy there is a new boba shop in Chino Hills that satisfies all my tea craving and closer to home rather than driving all the way back to SGV. I tried their roasted oolong milk tea, oolong milk tea, osmanthus honey oolong milk tea, traditional mountain milk tea, and green milk tea. All the tea flavors are super yummy I always buy two drinks so I can drink the second one the next day! If I had to choose two drinks their roasted oolong milk tea and osmanthus honey oolong milk tea is top notch. My order for all the drink is 70% sweetness, less ice, and boba it is perfect all the time! Boba is super chewy and not too hard.
