I was enthralled walking into this space and the gallery displays were phenomenal! One of my favorite artists was actually there talking about her pieces- and it is always wonderful to meet the artist behind exhibited pieces! She made wonderful sculptures of busts and heads with what I would call brain chaos sprouting out of the tops of the heads. For me- I love art that sparks an emotional response, is something relatable, or something that just sparks my curiosity and imagination. There were plenty of other artists work there too and I loved several different pieces. On this particular evening I was sprinting through town hitting up several galleries- but this was my first stop and made a huge impression on me. The space itself is also wonderful. We were only allowed access to the downstairs gallery, I assume classrooms were upstairs or downstairs (or both) and I could see there were other exhibits, but those were closed. Cincinnati really embraced the NCECA pottery crowd and made sure to have as many exhibits across town as possible!

The Art Academy has come a really long way in the past few years. They used to be located in Mt…read more Adams but recently purchased a larger building in Over-the-Rhine and have moved everything downtown. It's a beautiful building on Jackson Street that was re-done to fit the style of the Art Academy. Inside there is a sprawling atrium that looks up all the floors around the staircases. There is gallery space all over the building and chances are there is some show up. Right now the SOS Political art show is hung up as well as the Visual Fringe Gallery for the Fringe Festival. The Art Academy generously donates a classroom to the Fringe Festival as well for it's use for a few plays and it's a great space for them! The Art Academy unfortunately had a rapid decrease in enrollment since their move downtown, which was to be expected. However, with the revitalization of the gateway quarter (as it's now being called) things should be looking up for them. If you are looking for a great art school for all aspects of visual art and design, this is the place to go!

I saw that beyond painting you can also use wheels and make your own stuff. There's a decent selection of things to paint (always the hardest choice) and then a wall filled with different paints and little pictures of what it'll actually look like once glazed. I appreciated the emphasis on how the color will differ based on how many layers you paint it. There's also soooo many stamps and lace and texture type stuff to help you in your design. You pay after finishing and then they'll call you once it's done (for me it was like two weeks later but it was also the holiday season). Very enjoyable time!

The ceremony was held upstairs - another cool room with the two pianos, theater-style seats and dark wood. I think the venue has a lot of cool details to offer - and my bride said they were SUPER flexible and very affordable. They were able to bring in their own caterer - a big plus, since some venues force you to use one of their preferred caterers. I have added some photos from the wedding. We decided to rent some bar height tables and use some of the rounds supplied by the center. This allowed us to have more of a cocktail party vibe and gave more space for dancing. Our ceremony was held at the city gazebo just across the street (on other side of new Distassi venue). The upstairs sanctuary at Wyoming Arts was our backup location for the ceremony. My husband and I stood on the front porch for our processional to welcome the guests. We were very pleased and everyone enjoyed themselves at our event!

How lucky is Bellevue to have RESN8 in the neighborhood! I attended one of their pour-paint classes…read morewhich was so fun and unique. I have done several of those "paint party" type classes at other venues so this was a great change of pace and I actually preferred this type of class- no stress, no artistic ability needed, and I liked the end result better than any of my other paintings. The instructor, Patricia, was very nice and accommodating, we were offered wine or water upon arrival and then went to the downstairs of the gallery for the class. We arrived early so had the pleasure of walking through the gallery beforehand. It's a beautifully renovated space and had a lot of nice pieces displayed. I would highly recommend RESN8 for one of their art classes or for a gallery visit!

Before you go to your class, a few pointers: Large campus, but no map is available. Some buildings are marked, others not, The directions I received indicated Bldg 303, Door 3. The class was held in Bldg 400, some 300 yards away. Finding Bldg 303 was not easy. There was a phone number to call, but they refuse to answer the phone. You can leave a msg, but they refuse to return the call. Others in the class reported the same experiences. Your tax dollars at work! I Googled the address, but had to try a few times because the street for Bldg 303 was not given. I got directions from Google, but then the directions told me to turn onto a one-way road, the wrong way. Give yourself extra time and take food and water.

This is my trade school. I attend for cosmetology. It's the best decision I have ever made with my…read morelife. They have adult ed in one wing during the day while holding high school classes. At night they hold adult classes all through out the building. The teachers are FANTASTIC and work with you to help you succeed. You're more than just a student-- you're their student. In the labs we're a family not just a class. With this school I will go far in life.

Went here for two years getting my Associates of Business in Culinary Arts, I loved the program and…read morethe kitchens are top notch and even better than a lot of the restaurant's here in Cincinnati. : In terms of the credit hour rate it is one of the lowest for Culinary Schools, I had friends attend the Culinary Institute of America and after two years they had spent over 100,000 just for tutiton, room and board and fees. After two years at MCI I spent around 8 thousand dollars and trained under Certified Master Chefs. :Since this is a community college, there is no school pride which is sad to see, a lot of students when asked about our basketball team didn't even know where the gym was. : Things to check out if you go there currently for lunch I suggest Bakery Hill on the 2nd floor of ATLC, everything is made there fresh everyday and the counter people are pastry students that really care about you, compared to the Overlook where the food is bland and way overpriced and greasy and the workers don't want to help you. : Also check out the Summit, it is an acting restaurant run by Chef Sean Kagy and his all student work staff in the kitchen and Donna and her all student wait staff. I would suggest going on Friday nights as they have had three courses plus wine pairings for around thirty dollars a person.

I called the bookstore on Monday to find out about the how and where on the parking situation. I was very happy to hear the parking garage is free! The garage is on #centralparkway at the intersection with #ludlowavenue. The employee on the phone was very helpful. I was told to park in the garage & go to level 5 for access to the walkway to the main building. Garage signs directed me to the stairs and elevators at the back of the structure. Upon exiting I crossed a campus roadway to enter the building. The building is attractive. It has high glass windows that let in a lot of good light. Upon entering there were stairs taking me up to the main level. It was here I encountered a friendly staff person. She gave me good additional directions and walked with me part of the way. The #bookstore signs lead me to the cafeteria and the #bookstore just beyond it. The cafeteria has plenty of seating with a wall of windows allowing for a pleasant view and plenty of outdoor light. Several students were using the area as place to study and read. Up ahead I entered the surprisingly small #folletbookstore. Basic school supplies are on the left across from the customer counter. There was one employee present who provided me with friendly service plus the short explanation of how the #bookstore was relocated when the #welcomecenter was remodeled. The #welcomecenter is the first thing you encounter when entering from the parking garage. This is a modern and welcoming campus. From what I have read it offers many fun & degree related courses at a reasonable price for the community.
