I am giving it 3 stars for the impeccable service and lovely ambiance. The food itself left a lot to be desired. In a country surrounded by good authentic Italian pasta, most of it at half the price of this place, I had higher expectations. It felt like they prioritized service and creativity of dishes over the taste of the food, which was just a bit disappointing. For example, one of my favorite dishes of the night had a broth base BUT because of the textured bowl it was in, it was hard to scoop up all of the broth without sounding obnoxious in a relatively quiet and lovely setting. Also, my partner said one of the best courses of the night for him was the dessert. Unfortunately, for me, I am allergic to nuts and their nut-free dessert alternatives were jelly candies. That said, I experienced these same jelly candies at two other Michelin star restaurants in Europe - so maybe the Italians overall just do not accommodate for nut allergies when it comes to dessert and I should point out this restaurant wasn't alone in this dessert trend.
It has potential for sure, but was not the level of food I was expecting. read more
