I went to I Do I Do for my bridal gown and absolutely loved it. Tracy was super nice and patient during my two appointments with a fairly large entourage. The seamstress was absolutely amazing and basically reconstructed the top of my dress after I lost about ten pounds before my wedding. I also bought my veil and hair clip from there. It's really a one stop shop. I'm in the process of consigning my dress with I Do I Do. The process is fairly easy, because I bought my dress from them they waived the admin fee. They try to sell the dress for 10 months with the possibility for extending a few more months after that point. Will update if/when I resell the dress. Long story short: my dress arrived too late to wear to my own wedding. Long story long: I traveled from Charlottesville to I Do I Do after reading about the store in the WaPo. On my first trip, I found a beautiful flattering dress for a very reasonable price. So I paid in full as required for custom-made dresses and was told to expect my dress to be delivered sometime in February (it was October and the wedding was in April). Well February came and went and so did most of March. I continually called the shop to find out the status of my dress as the wedding was quickly approaching. After weeks of putting me off, the owner finally confessed over the phone 3 weeks before my wedding that my dress had arrived in February but she sent it back to the manufacturer as she felt the lace was applied badly and she did not know when the manufacturer would be returning the dress. When asked why she did not inform when earlier of this, she had no answer other than she thought she would have the dress by now. So I tried to get her to refund my money or give me a store credit and let me pick out another dress. She refused even though she could have easily sold my on-order dress (assuming it ever arrived). The only thing she offered was to CONSIGN my dress once it arrived (with her getting her standard cut). No thank you! By this time, the wedding is about 2 weeks away, so I ended up going to a bridal boutique closer to home and getting another dress off the rack as I had no idea if my dress from I Do I Do would ever arrive. It finally did about a week before the wedding. By then it was too late for alterations or even having a wedding portrait made. So I picked up the dress and finally donated the I Do I Do dress to Brides Across America. I think you are probably fine if you find a consignment dress that you can take out of the shop with you. But I would not take the chance of ordering anything through this shop based on how careless and thoughtless they were with me. ADVICE FOR BRIDES TO BE: When buying a wedding dress, tell the store your wedding is at least a month earlier than it really is. That way, if there is a delay, you are not caught in the same mess I I was in. read more

I sooooooooooooooo wanted to like I DO I DO Wedding Gowns, especially since I loved their concept of offering both new and consignment dresses. However, my experience here was not cool. I came here on a Friday evening around 4:30pm (they close at 6pm). Besides myself, there was a lady trying on some gowns for her daughter's wedding. After browsing some bridesmaids dresses for about five minutues, the sales associate finally finished her conversation with the lady's husband and asked if I needed any help. She then got another associate to help me. I was on the hunt for a short wedding dress, so she took me back and showed me the three gowns they had available. I was interested in trying one on just to see how it fit and if I liked it. Nope, appointment only. But there is no one else here. Sorry, appointment only. Even if I just want to try one on, which will take me like five minutes? Yeah, you have to make an appointment for that. Are you guys all booked for tonight? Yes, we are busy. Really? There is no one else in the store, especially since the lady and her husband left. Make an appointment, and then you can try it on. There are three dressing rooms available. Sorry. You get the picture. I get the whole appointment thing. But, they weren't busy. Come on now. I ended up leaving the store. I sat in my car for about fifteen minutes searching to see if there were any other bridal stores in the area I could go to. In those fifteen minutes, guess how many people came in the store. None. Zero. Nada. I could have tried on one dress in fifteen minutes. But, it's okay. I wasn't THAT interested in trying it on anyhow. They have a fairly decent amount of wedding gowns and a small selection of bridesmaids gowns. If you don't have an appointment here, I'd suggest that you don't waste your time and come here. read more

This was a great dress shopping experience. Antoinette was so fun, honest, and helpful. She really took in what I was saying about the dresses and was able to pull ones that I really liked based on my most vague descriptions. She was also flexible on the one-hour time limit, which she said is more of a rule on their busy weekends. The space includes two rooms. There are racks with samples but also probably twice as many consignment dresses. They have a great range of dresses and a lot of variety, from very beaded and busy to simpler dresses, from big ball gown dresses to sleeker and sexier. Antoinette really was a delight. She helped a lot with the dresses, and we laughed a lot throughout the process. She gave me time to walk around and talk with my mom and friend. She wasn't at all pushy. She was definitely an expert. The dresses definitely ranged in price, but there are tons under $1000. read more

Loved my experience at I Do, I Do back in 2012. After visiting 3 or so Wedding shops, this was my favorite experience and I ultimately purchased my gown here. ASK FOR ANTOINETTE (if she still works there)! Antoinette was fabulous and really knows her stuff! She gave me the individualized attention I needed and made my decision to purchase a dress much more relaxing. She helped me figure out which gown was right for me and made me feel extremely comfortable!!! Not to mention the great prices (my designer dress was under $600 - where I saw the same dress for $1200+ at other shops and online). The shop owner was a bit rude though and was rushing Antoinette to push me to purchase something because I was taking too long (I was in the shop a total of an hour from walking in, browsing the racks, changing into about 8 gowns until the last one was the right one). I almost didn't purchase a dress here because the owner was so rude by rushing the process, but Antoinette was like a fairy godmother and saved the day and reassured me that I had time to try on a few more dresses which I ultimately bought the last one! read more

I was in the unique position of something I've never particularly fantasized about: trying on wedding dresses. Being a commitment phobe, it's shocking I fought thru my fear and said "yes".. I have a hard enough time committing to a cell phone plan, let alone a man. So the industry models used to show these dresses are a far cry from my fabulous size 14 body, and everyone warned me to check my ego at the door because not only do wedding dresses run small, they are.. White. Not slimming black, not forgiving Royal blue. Cruel, blunt white/ivory. Well surprise, surprise I bought my dress at I Do, I Do. They have a large selection of dresses in every size, warm, HUMAN sales associates that help you every step of the way. Not horrible at all. I found the dress I liked in under 2 hrs. It was part of a trunk show, so I bought a brand new Mon Cheri Gown for under $1400. Give this place a try. read more

Great service, especially having the "Bridecam" (webcam on their website) to share the experience with my loved ones who couldn't be there in person. The saleslady was very nice and efficient--I was done dress shopping and took my dress home within 90 minutes! She was also able to make recommendations for further alterations. They have a very large selection of dresses and accessories, rivaling regular bridal shops. It was a little pricey for second-hand; I expected more dresses in my price range. I discovered later that my dress was on sale from the designer (in new condition) so it wasn't as good of a deal as I thought, but there are no returns. At least the dress I bought was altered in such a way that it was a bit different from the original design, and that alteration would've cost me more from the designer, so I didn't feel so bad. So if you see a dress you like that's by a major designer, you might want to check the prices online beforehand to make sure you're actually getting a bargain. It would also be nice if they had online appointment scheduling. read more

Haven't gotten my alterations done yet, so I will update after that, but for now: I can't say enough about how great my experience was at I Do I Do. I had a very specific vision of a non-white dress that other shops had scoffed at me for or made me feel like just another customer instead of a bride. I came in for my appointment at I Do I Do with my mother and was greeted warmly and then introduced to Tracy Weatherford, who was AMAZING. She showed me a dress that she had pulled for me based on what I had described when I called and made my appointment, which I fall in love with as soon as I tried on! This was not a bridal gown. I tried on many white bridal gowns that were much more expensive after that and she never once tried to sway my opinion toward them! She was very patient in my 1+ hour appointment and gave me the time to stay in my dress and talk things over with my mother. I ended up going with the original non-bridal gown and couldn't be happier. I was able to take the one off the rack and have been assured that we will be able to do extensive alterations (adding sleeves, changing neck and backline) in time for my wedding in a few months. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. Horrible customer service, and very rude managers and owners. When you call the bridal salon during business hours sometimes the phone will go unanswered. My mother ordered her mother of the bride dress here and was undecided between two colors, so the consultant said she would call my mom back to confirm the dress color. But instead the consultant took it upon herself to order the dress without even confirming with her the exact color my mother wanted; and NEVER called my mom to confirm. When we called to tell them the definite color she wanted the manager said that the dress color was already sent in and couldn't be changed (this was less than 12 hours after the original call). So we are stuck with the color my mom NEVER confirmed she wanted. Brides- Don't waste your time, money or patients even stepping foot in this place. -Annoyed Bride read more

It was just a very stressful and upsetting ordeal for me.I actually have been avoiding to write this review because every time I think about the day I left this store, I feel so taken advantage of and ripped off. I still remember the day I had to carry my dress out crying all the way home while driving. I had bought a full-price not a used wedding gown. Two months before my wedding,I realized that the dress was not even and that one side was 2 inches longer than the other. I went back to the store to have them take fix it. The first thing the owner said was that my shoulders were uneven and that one side of my shoulder was lower than the other side which caused the dress to be uneven.I was shocked and speechless because that made no sense. So the manager basically told me that if she had to fix the dress that I would have to pay her. She said the contract stated that once the dress is removed from the store, the company is not responsible. I have never seen a policy like that applied to a brand new dress?!?!?! Apparently, once you buy and leave the store, their customer service also went out the door too.This was a brand new dress that I had paid full price and she treated me like I bought a used clearance dress! And for the fact that she did not take any responsibility for the defect in the dress and made false accusation that it was because of me, that was just unprofessional, selfish and illogical. She had me left crying and I had to take my dress elsewhere. Advice:Buyer Beware! Work with vendors that believe in practicing honest business work ethics.Especially since being a bride is already stressful, do consider using wedding vendors that honestly do care about you and WANT to make sure you leave 100% satisfied. read more

I feel the need to update my review to make sure others don't have the same experience as me. There is one big negative to this place...alterations. Or lack thereof, to be more precise. Ladies, never ever let a salesperson (in any bridal shop--they all do this) tell you that you can get a dress even if its not your size. Alterations are not easy, and they are not cheap. You will pay more for alterations than for the dress itself if you go this route. Get a dress that fits you, period...or be prepared to shell out lots of money. Some shops have seamstresses on site, who could then give you a better idea of what alterations will cost. The downfall to this store is that you don't have that knowledge when you purchase your dress. Pay and pray. The first place they recommended said my alterations would be too difficult. The second place wanted to charge me $400 more than what I ended up paying out in Anne Arundel county (yes, four-hundred dollars more). Yikes. read more

This was the first place we went when looking for my bridal gown, and I had a really bad experience. We got there around 9:45 and were in the car freezing, so we jumped when someone came to the door (they open at 10 which I didn't realize). But she told us that they wouldn't be open for another 8 minutes, we couldn't come in and wait. She then went to her car and had her last cigarette before the shop opened, and then turned out to be my consultant and was breathing her smoky breath all over me since we were in close quarters. I ran to the bathroom (after the long drive to Gaithersburg), and my mom/friend had pulled a few dresses and so did the consultant. She asked if I looked at the consignment dresses yet, and I said 'No, I was just going to try one what I had first.' and she said 'Well you only have 30 minutes left.'. Tick tick tick was all I felt from then on. We get in the room and she basically only wanted me to try what she had pulled first. Not to mention I didn't have a strapless bra and had to borrow theirs. She told me to take off all my stuff. There I am, with this totally strange woman, with a pair of underwear and holding a boob in each hand until she finished whatever she was doing and could help me put that strapless on. From the second she mentioned time, I was watching it click down. I must have tried 15 dresses on but only got to show 3 to my mom/friend. Finally, with 9 minutes left in my appointment, I just asked to try on a pretty dress I had pulled. It didn't work on me, which she said 'I knew it wouldn't, but I had to let you see for yourself'. I'm *still* rolling my eyes with that one. Anyways. My mom and friend said all the other consultants looked like they were really nice and way more helpful, so I think I just got stuck with a bad one. She ended up narrowing in on the style I ended up getting, but there was something about that dress I didn't like, so we left there and headed to Bridal Images. She definitely knew her stuff, I just didn't care for her attitude and demeanor. It felt like the figured 'where else are you going to go? If you want what we have you'll deal with it.' I Do I Do was packed, 5 girls with the same appointment. Shopping for my wedding dress was a huge moment in my life, and not knowing what to expect and have to deal with that was heartbreaking. I'm still angry about it. But their selection was large, between ones you could order (with decent designers) and the consignment options, and their consignments looked gently used (by that, I mean they looked great, you couldn't tell they had already been worn once at all). read more

Let's start with the fact that this place has the cheapest tackiest looking gowns I have ever seen in my life. It's laughable. But that isn't even the problem. They decided it would be a fabulous idea to keep their business open which they were painting the floors. I arrived with my best friend to get her dress for her wedding, veil was at the bottom of the bag and wrinkled (eye roll). I ASKED AN EMPLOYEE if I could use the bathroom (not an unreasonable request for any business), I could see it as on the side of the store that was under construction, so I asked if it was ok to use it even though it obviously was under construction. She said yes just be careful. So I walked towards the bathroom, where there was ANOTHER customer already using the bathroom. And when I turned to walk away I felt something slippery under my feet and proceeded to almost dislocate my already torn ACL knee! As I slipped on their WET FLOOR!!! Are you kidding me??? Then the manager had the audacity to start yelling at me, and her employee that let me go to the bathroom in the first place. So the woman tried to clean my shoes, which are $80 lucky brand, and was absolutely not successful. And she was more worried about making sure that I didn't step on her stupid floors and her store with the shoes that she just destroyed. I would avoid this place at all costs. This experience made me stop trying on dresses for the next two months, it was so unsettling. We showed up for our 1 o'clock appointment right on time, but we were asked to wait for fifteen minutes before we could be seen.... but we were the only ones in the store. So I do not know what took 15 minutes, but in retrospect, I should have just left then..... Then I met my consultant who asked me what I wanted. I showed her the Mon Cheri dress in the Knot with a full-page ad that I had been staring at for the past two weeks. This was the only store that carried Mon Cheri Bridal in this area. She informed me that she had the option of buying that dress and decided that it did not look good. But she insisted that she had another dress "just like it". My thinking was, "this isn't your wedding, and why would you not stock something that the designer decided should have a full page ad in one of the most popular wedding magazines?" And the twin dress looked NOTHING like the dress I wanted. It was not even the same silouhette! So then the consultant encouraged me to look for other dresses that I might like. The dresses were so cluttered that I couldn't really look. I was really hoping that she could help me by telling me what looks good on me (as she had been in this business for awhile). So I pulled two options and my maid of honor pulled two options. I was then told I was not allowed to try them all on because my appointment was almost over. So I tried on one more dress which was ok and I left. The store was still empty, so I did not understand why I was rushed out. And when I got back to the car, it was only 1:45. I did not even get a full hour!!! My appointment started late, ended early, and was rushed throughout. If you want good customer service, please go elsewhere. Also you may want to go here because the dresses are used... but the price point is still pretty high. I did see some $6000 gowns marked down to $2000, which is a good deal, but the average gown price is around $1500. Go somewhere else and get a nice gown, brand new, for the same price. read more

I Do I Do sells a combination of special order gowns and consignment gowns. The consignment gowns have been worn once or not at all, and give the small store a huge variety of styles, manufacturers, and sizes. Prices range from around $200 well into the thousands, but tend to be concentrated under a thousand, even for high-quality dresses. Alterations are also very reasonable. The salespeople at I Do I Do are extremely helpful and friendly. Overall, a great shopping experience and very little pressure. I Do I Do has recently moved from Rockville to Gaithersburg. I would like to echo the tone of the reviewer before me, Karen T. when she said: "RUDE, PUSHY, and CONDESCENDING." Another review also said "TERRIBLE customer service." This was my personal experience and the bride I was with as well. We were ignored when we initially walked in the door so we signed in and waited for several minutes. Then we began to walk around and walked into the rear of the store only to be told very rudely by the owner that we must leave that area unless we are with a consultant, so we did and waited another 20 minutes before someone spoke to us again. While my friend tried on her dresses, one of her bridesmaids that was with us stepped up to see the back closer and the owner rudely elbowed her out of the way and did not even say excuse me. I went to this store and found my dream wedding dress. Before this store, I went to two other wedding dress stores and couldn't find ANYTHING. I would find the top of the dress that I liked while hating the bottom of the dress. I even asked one place if I could buy both dresses and switch the tops and bottoms. Right when I went into this store, I found my dress right away. One of the reason why I'm giving this place three stars is because my bridesmaid dresses AND my wedding gown came a month or two later than it was supposed to. I was so happy that I ordered my dresses very early that it didn't have any conflict with my wedding date but I was still upset that I expected all my dresses to come in March.. but didn't get it until April. Another reason why I'm giving three stars is that my initial appointment with buying my dress was great! The sales associate, Josalyn, was amazing and helped me find my dress immediately. But when I came back to pick up the dress six months later, another sales associate helped me and she didn't make me feel good about myself. She announced VERY loudly (with the whole store packed with customers) that I gained weight and couldn't fit into the dress. Luckily, the manager came in to the rescue and ended up helping me with the dress and she told me to not lose any weight because the dress fit me perfectly. Overall, I would recommend coming here to get your dress! Just come before 6 months before your wedding date to ensure that your dress (and the bridesmaid dresses) come on time. read more

I did not end up getting my dress at I Do I Do, but I had to write about our great experience here. This was the third of four stores I visited. The store has a great selection-- huge variety, better than any of the other three stores I visited. I was specifically looking for dresses that are not strapless and I actually had a choice here. (Unlike other stores where strapless overwhelmingly rules.) The prices are great. I love the idea of consignment-- I'm only going to wear this gown once so why should it exist just for one day? (Though our consultant, Carole, explained that all the consignment gowns have been worn 0 or 1 times before-- some are bought from other stores before they are ever worn.) The dresses were all clean. Carole is a true asset-- she was helpful, friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. After several dresses she said "I think I know what you're looking for" and went back and brought back several gowns EXACTLY in the style I liked that my friend and I had somehow missed. I would definitely recommend this store as a must to any bride. read more

I Do I Do was the first place I went to look for wedding gowns. We made an appointment very soon after my engagement (only about a month afterwards), and my mother and I walked in not knowing anything about the process of looking for a wedding dress. I wasn't sure what I wanted in a wedding dress, but I knew exactly what I didn't want: no sequins, no shiny beads, nothing big and poofy, nothing gauzey, nothing pink. I want something classic, elegant, understated. Josalyn was great to work with. She completely understood me when I explained what I wanted and didn't want, and she was great about pulling dresses out for me. They have a very large selection of dress, brand names too, and she patiently waited as my mother and I scanned through it all. We must had picked at least a dozen different dresses. Josalyn helped me put on each one. I was pretty determined not to buy a strapless dress, but she convinced me to try this lovely champagne colored dress. It was exactly my size and it felt like heaven. She let me see the train and then bustled it up for me so I could feel what it was like to move in it. The price was so low, I was shocked. I didn't want to buy the first dress I fell in love with at the first shop I visited though, so I thanked her and left. I ended up coming back three different times - always calling at the last minute - to try on the dress. I came back with my sister and then with my dad. The last time, I finally decided on buying the dress. What really sold me was how I was offered the option of seeing the dress with straps, which were fashioned for me out of tulle. Then I was given a purple sash. I was sold. I really appreciated their patience with me, especially as I was a bit of a wishy-washy costumer. The only con I can think is that they don't let you take photos in your dress. I had to keep coming back because I would forget what the dress looked like (I tried on a lot of dresses at many different stores). read more

I didn't get my dress here, and my experience was OK. First, they need to learn to GREET people when they come in. I came alone, and I walked up to the counter and stood there while the woman helped a huge bridal party- each bridesmaid was checking out and paying for her dress separately. I'm not a diva, so I didn't expect her to drop everything and help me, but a simple, "I'll be with you in a minute" would have been fine. I was bored, and all the seats were taken, so I just went into the room with all of the dresses and started browsing (might as well not waste time, right?). The consignment room was large, but it didn't have anything that I liked- I imagine it's hit or miss depending on what they get in. The dresses that you order were just ok- I tried on 2 that I liked (Casablanca), but I felt that the lace was nicer on the Allure dresses at another store (the Allure was about $400 more just so you can compare). The sales woman was nice- I think her name was Carol. She was friendly and helped me with everything. The real issue I have is that they don't allow pictures. I'm sorry, but I must've tried on 30 dresses until I found the "one." How the heck can I remember the ones in your store? I just think it's incredibly silly. It's very important for me to see how a dress is going to photograph as well- the camera picks things up that your eye can't see. Will the lace look cheap? Will the satin look wrinkled? These are things I need to know before dropping a few grand on a dress. Overall, I thought it was ok. I was annoyed by the woman at the counter not greeting me and by the no pictures policy, but if you are dead set on trying a Casablanca, Mon Cheri or another dress line they carry, I don't think it could hurt. The inside of the place also rates as ok. It's not as nice as the stores with chandeliers and ottomans (so if you want that, don't go), but it's less crowded than a chain store like David's Bridal (I had to buy a bridesmaid's dress there once, and it was a zoo). read more

I had a wonderful experience at I Do, I Do and in spite of all the moaning and groaning I did about going wedding dress shopping, I managed to find my dress here on the very first weekend of searching. In fairness, my hatred for trying on clothes also lit a spark in me to spend no more than one weekend looking for one, but nevertheless, I wouldn't have achieved that goal without this wonderful shop. I did have an appointment before going in and I highly recommend it. When I went in, I had a good idea of the style of dress that I liked and what my budget was, so that was very helpful to them. My assistant -- I wish I could remember her name! -- was so talented in finding exactly what I was looking for and made me feel so heard throughout the whole process. I got to try on about four of the consignment dresses, none of which fit me or my style very well, so we moved on to the floor dresses. They carry four brands of new dresses on the floor, all of which fit within my very romantic style [Casablanca, Alfred Angelo, Sophia Toli, and Allure Bridal]. Luckily, this was over Black Friday weekend so there was a huge sale going on. The dress I wound up choosing was actually a sample dress, so I walked away not only a full 25% off the dress since they offered me a sample, but also I took it home that day because it was right off the rack! I felt so lucky to have gotten such a stunning dress at such a reasonable price in comparison to what it should have been, and all in all it won't even need very many alterations. What's more, she pulled out a few veils on consignment and I walked away with a perfect choice for just $50. Thank you so much to this amazing business for helping me find my perfect gown. DC is not a cheap place to live, so as a bride on a budget, this was my first stop. I DO I DO has consignment (re-sell) dresses as well as select gowns that the owner orders from the designer. Fortunately, I found mine (a consignment one) for a little more than $400. (However, I tried on a dress that was only $130!) My dress is a sheath-style, which is perhaps why it's so inexpensive. Most of the traditional-style bridal consignment gowns I tried on were more expensive (due to more fabric/beading/lace/etc). Didn't even bother perusing the designer selection, since it was definitely out of the range. If you have an exact perfect design in your head that you absolutely must have, then this place might not be for you. It helps if you are flexible about details (such as color or zippers/buttons), especially if you're only willing to buy consignment. Stacy was also a wonderful salesperson. She listened to what style I was looking for, and helped me and my maid of honor narrow it down to the perfect dress. She also had a great personality and I felt she was easy to get along with. read more

(Not a bride, went as a part of a bridal party) A friend of mine recommended I Do I Do after she bought her dress from there. My best friend recently got engaged so we added this boutique to our list of places to go. My best friend (the bride), her mom, my other friend and I came on a Saturday afternoon and were paired up with Tracy. She made us all feel so welcomed, asked who my friend brought along, our budget, wedding colors .. you name it. You would think that's pretty normal for consultants to ask, but you'd be surprised when we went to other places and the consultant didn't even ask us what the budget was (I'm looking at you David's Bridal ). Tracy pulled all the dresses she thought my friend would like but also gave us the luxury of walking around and picking out anything we liked. She truly made my friend feel like a bride, made us feel important and was so accommodating with everything. At our first appointment, we went over our time slot and not once did she make us feel rushed. We ended up coming back a week later and my friend said yes to her dress!!! I would highly recommend this bridal shop to any bride who expects great service, who doesn't want to feel pressured to buy a dress, who doesn't want to feel rushed, and who wants to save money. I never thought about buying a dress at a consignment store, but the selection of dresses are endless. The store carries a variety of new and consigned designer wedding/bridesmaids dresses. I ended up buying my dress and unexpectedly received my dress a month earlier than expected. The dress was exactly what I wanted. Brides-to-be, visit this slice of awesome because this place is AMAZING. It makes me want to throw a wedding where I marry myself just so I can be taken care of by Josalyn. Wedding dress shopping is it's own special, special hell, and visiting those big, cavernous bridal shops is overwhelming and full of all kinds of crazy. Why put yourself (and your party) through that kind of stress? I Do I Do is an oasis of calm, with incredible variety of wedding dress choices (both new and consigned), truly nice and enthusiastic staff (Josalyn, for reals, you are fantastic), and a quiet, intimate setting with (this is important) GOOD LIGHTING, and spacious fitting rooms. Our bride-to-be friend made an appointment for 4 pm on a saturday, and we got there pretty early after a disheartening trip at the warehouse bridal shop where you competed for floor space to stand on, let alone a mirror. She had found a dress that was "fine," but who wants fine when it comes to a dress that you're gonna spend a grand on? So when we got to I Do I Do, after being greeted graciously by the front desk lady and who got us settled to wait for the consultant, it was a relief. The best part? We were encouraged to actually handle the dresses to get a feel for the fabrics and pick out stuff for our friend. Josalyn also pulled some dresses that were in the style/price range that our friend had specified. We found THE DRESS in the consignment area: it was a sample, unworn, and absolutely perfect. Our friend didn't want to take it off: I couldn't blame her because she looked like a million bucks. Even better? The price was on point (and honestly looked like something that cost 10x as much, it was that elegant). It was the second dress she tried on, and it was love at first wear. So, here are some tips/quick info: 1) Make an appointment and ask for Josalyn. Seriously, Josalyn will take care of you and make you feel like a person, not a commission. 2) Don't bring a gigantic entourage: I Do I Do is surprisingly spacious, but having no more than 3 people with you is best. 3) Call ahead and find out how many other brides are trying on dresses during your appointment period: we lucked out and there were only 2 other brides (and I think it's because one of them was running over her appointment.) -- this is important as there 3 mirrors, and only 2 with a pedestal or whatever so you can see how the dress falls. 4) JOSALYN - who really cheered up our friend with her positive attitude, excitement, and all around niceness. 5) Price ranges vary: we found some fantastic deals in the consignment area, but the new/special order section had gorgeous dresses that were only a few hundred dollars up to several grand. Again: price points for every budget. 6) Go in with an idea of what you like/suits your body, but be open to suggestions: this dress was nothing like what my friend had originally planned on getting/tried on previously, and I know she was thrilled with how this dress looks on her. 7) Don't be freaked at how I Do I Do looks from the outside: reviewers have mentioned that it's a strip-mall location, but the inside is VERY nice and oh man, truly excellent consignment quality. read more

I don't think so... this store has a great selection of dresses. However, the customer service is absolutely awful. All the ladies were nice when I walked into the store, wanting to help me - I was deciding between two dresses and just needed more time to think since this is a big purchase for such a special day. When the lady had asked if I was saying Yes to the dress, I said not yet.. I want some time to think between two dresses. She started asking why I couldn't just say yes to one of them, and started being rude when I had questions about each dress, how long it would take, and wouldn't help me when I had questions about the veil. I would have absolutely bought a dress from their store had they just been nice to me. I wanted some specific alterations to the dress I had, I just needed more time to think about it and I would've came back to order my dress. Since they were so rude to me just because I wouldn't order a dress right then and there, I went to a different store and ordered the same exact dress I tried on at I do I do. Honestly, if the customer service is great - people will buy from your store - this concept applies everywhere. read more

The most welcoming and best bridal shop experience I had in the search for my dress! My bridal consultant, Eleanor, was not only warm and listening, but had a clear talent for pulling gorgeous gown selections that reflected my desired style and silhouette. After attending prior appointments with a larger group, I went into this appointment with only my MOH in tow. We were allowed to pull gowns ourselves in addition to their selections, which really let us get excited and involved in the process. The experience continued to get better after purchasing my gown from I Do I Do - after second thoughts, I called inquiring about a few custom alterations. Within a day, they had called the designer to research cost and were patient enough to give me several days to think before placing the order complete with the customizations. I've been in several bridal parties. Visited more wedding boutiques than I can count. --treatment here was absolutely horrible. The policy at this boutique says that you are not allowed to take photos during the bridal fitting. In addition, our party was told that we could not video chat with the brides out of town grandmother! This was traumatizing to our bride as she needs and relies on input from her out of town family member as well as an out of town bridesmaid. In addition, the staff was over 20 minutes late calling us back to begin the fitting. We were rudely told that we had to wait in the front of the store before we could look at dresses. Even though they were late, we weren't allowed to browse/preview. The owner treated me as a bridesmaid with rudeness and pettifoggery. Due to the mistreatment, they have lost the business of a bride and her bridal party. read more

I joined Yelp because I had such a bad experience here I thought I had to give people a heads up. Got to my appointment 15 minutes early and the lady told me rudely that they were not ready for me. I then had to wait an hour after my set appt. time and whenever I asked what was going on the lady was rude yet again. After the wait, someone showed us the dress area (pointed out where the consignment, designer, and sale sections were) and then told me to go find what I wanted to try on. I told her the exact type of dress I was looking for and she just said "maybe we have something like that you are just going to have to find it." I would have much rather been searching than sitting for an hour. I think your experience with the store could be different depending on who you are set up with and which dresses are in consignment at that time, but I could not believe how much my trip sucked. I picked out one dress to try on and when I was about to put it on, the lady walked in my dressing room when I was undressing without knocking and said "Do you want to try that on?" I had gone to some stores where the people went in the room with you and some where they did not, so I was not expecting her to come in the room since she was MIA after a couple minutes. It was such a strange place. Also - the consignment section was much more expensive than I thought it would be. There were a ton of dresses in the $2,500 range and then a couple ones that were under $1,000 stuck n the mix. Most of the dresses had lots of beads, lace, and tulle, so if you are into that maybe you will be able to find something, but I hope you try out other stores because I had better customer service at David's Bridal (which is not usually known for their customer service and you will be able to find a much cheaper dress). read more

After finding a $5,900 wedding gown I fell in love with, I could not afford it. I've been all over the bridal shops searching for a dress identical to the $5,900 gown. I even let the image of the dress go and gave different gowns a try. I just did not click with the dress. It was the $5,900 dress I clicked. I looked for consignment and they were still a whooping $2,500+. If you ask me, it's a lot of money for a worn and altered dresses. Bridal store after bridal store... I wasn't having much of a luck until I came to this. I have been hesitant coming to this store due to location and the reviews. But I thought since I was running out of luck, I made an appointment with Jossalyn. I showed her the $5,900 gown photo and she became excited. She brought out the dress, much less than $5,900 and it was nearly identical!!! I almost died. When I tried on the dress, it fit me just perfectly. I knew I had to order it, but until I decide, Jossalyn has been very helpful and very supportive. She would also share her opinion on the dress and set up the BridalCam so my bridesmaids could see it. I recently came to the store to meet my gown for the first time (not the sample dress I tried on) and it still fits me perfectly. There are minor alternations needed (adding on bra, adding button to pull up my train, etc). I can't wait to swoon my fiance on our special day! read more

I'm giving 4 stars because although I did not end up purchasing my dress here, it wasn't because of their selection or prices or service. I just simply found one I loved more at another shop. My consultant was extremely helpful in both picking out some dresses, helping me in and out of them, and offering her opinion. All of the other consultants were nice, too. I stepped out of the dressing room in one dress that looked so pretty (I would have bought it had I not ended up with another similar one at a different store for cheaper and a little better quality) and they all "ooh'd" and "ahh'd" :) I would say that this store is the best experience I had in 5 different stores. You really feel like a bride in search of an important dress instead of just looking for something that looks good. The only thing I noticed was that the consultant didn't ask if I wanted to try on a veil with any of the dresses, but I was ok with that since I had pretty much made up my mind which dress I was going to get. I would definitely recommend it -- at least try them! The prices were reasonable for the most part (some of the consignment dresses were PRICEY and my consultant even agreed). I had a wonderful expierience at I do, I do. My consultant, Nancy, was fantastic. She was able to help me find a dress near my price range (which was only $500). I found a dress that fit perfectly and did not need a single alteration. The entire staff was friendly, and they had a suprisingly large selection of dresses. The dress I selected was in the consignment section, but was a new, never worn dress with the tags still on it. In stores my dress retails for around $900, but I paid just under $600 for it). There were other dresses there for under $500 that I could've selected from. On their website they advertise that they have a webcam which enables you to connect with friends/family who can't make it to your fitting. I was really excited about this service, but unfortunately their internet was down and they didn't know when it would be fixed. read more

Antoinette helped me. at first I was unsure because she's this 40ish lady who I assumed-- because she wasn't wearing anything very fashionable-- wouldn't know anything about modern dresses. Yes I'm ashamed of my bias, but was very pleased when Antoinette taught me a thing or two. She's very sweet and knowledgable about sizes and fit and her arm and hand strength is amazing! She squeezed my wedding sized 12 bust into a corseted size 8 dress. I will not be buying my dress at IdoIdo. Selection was ok, but I wanted more trendy looking dresses. I tried on some B+ dresses (personal grading system) and the sized 8 dress moved my friend to tears (me too, but for different oxygen-deprived reasons), but overall I needed a store with more selection. Updating my review now that the dress arrived. I ordered my dress in October and it didn't arrive until April for my May 10th wedding. They consistently assured me that wouldn't be a problem for alterations. I also couldn't schedule any alteration appointments in advance to coincide with the anticipated arrival date. By the time the dress arrived, there were no weekend appointments available. It was certainly not feasible for me to drive between DC and Gaithersburg multiple times on weekdays. I ended up paying a seamstress a $250 rush fee plus all the alterations (more than $1K total) to have the dress ready in time. Lesson learned - make sure you tell them your wedding is at least 1 month earlier than reality. Note - still loved Sarah and her ability to help me find the perfect dress. This was my second shop, and I found my dress! Sarah was incredible. She noticed what I liked about each style and found dresses that progressively matched my preferences. She went above and beyond to help me find my dress and accommodate both my interests and those of my guests. Highly recommend! read more

Loved this store! It was the 3rd (and last) store I attempted in searching for my wedding dress and I honestly could have left the shop with 5 different dresses I was in love with - but thank goodness one of them stood above the rest :) ! I got my dream XOXO dress for $535. The dresses are extremely well maintained since the "twice loved" dresses are prepared to be sold and taken home that day if you don't need alterations. The dresses were in perfect condition, making it a much more enjoyable process than the other stores of raggedy, pit stained dresses that had been tried on hundreds of times at the other boutiques I tried. The boutique is cute...nothing fancy, but well maintained and perfectly clean. The price range was fantastic and there were so many styles and sizes to choose from. The lady who helped me (Jackelyn?) was very knowlegable about what they had in stock that she wanted to show me. She could also read my shape very well and even pulled dresses for me to try on that I probably wouldn't have picked out - - and her choices were really the best ones on me, including the one I got married in! I have recommended I DO, I DO to two of my recent brides, one of which often has a very hard time with sizes found her perfect dress there as well! read more
