I ordered the very first time from this store and was greatly disappointed! My item was said to be delivered on 8/28/2026 and it was never found and store manager stated it was never delivered . *This review is for online pickup orders* If you happen to not know, you can purchase Nordstrom department store items online for pick up at any Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack location. This is such a convenience! And you can also return Nordstrom department store items at a Nordstrom Rack location. However, this does not work the other way around; i.e. items purchased at Nordstrom Rack have to be picked up, and returned, at a Nordstrom rack location. So as of now-this is my go to store location for Nordstrom online purchase pickups! Parking is plentiful, but the lot stays packed with moderate to heavy traffic flow. Walking into the store, there is a huge sign on the back right wall that states "Men's fitting room/Alterations/Online Pick up". I also noticed stickers on the floor pointing in the same direction. However, since I wasn't at all familiar with this location, I walked passed a very small empty counter space and headed towards the wall sign, where another customer and I stood at the entrance of the men's fitting room for 10 mins. There was no one there and no one at the counter. It wasn't until the other customer walked away, and then finally flagged me down to join the line that was now forming at the small empty counter, that I knew where to pick up my orders. Point: it is not an obvious pick up counter, especially if no one is standing there. Also, I had two orders to pick up, but only one was confirmed ready for pickup, so I asked the customer service person about checking on the other order to see if it was also ready. They kindly stated that they would check, but wanted to take care of the other customers first (with confirmed ready for pickup orders). I complied, and started to browse the shoe department for about 20 mins. btw- the women's shoe dept didn't have a lot of options-perhaps already picked over from the holiday season. Finally, I found the same customer service person later on sorting through 'put back' items (from the dressing room, and returns from the registers), and asked again about my order, and they immediately said that nothing else was found for me, and my order may not have come in yet. I showed them my email that stated that my order was supposed to be ready for pick up today, and at the current time, it was four hours until store closing time. The customer service person then said that they will check again in the back. And To my surprise, they found my order, and they found another order that was supposed to be ready for a tomorrow pick up. So that was a very pleasant surprise. For the size and traffic through this store location, it is overall clean and neat. But the selection is overall lacking compared to other locations. However, it's a busy area, so great finds likely go fast. Highly recommend this location; just look for the small counter by the men's fitting room-and even press the service button (if it works) if there is no customer service person seen. read more

I bought a product after a good review of it bc I went to Giant next door. First of all. the place smells like sewage when you walk in the door!!!! An immediate turn off. I didn't really like the odor of the product and so with my receipt, tried to bring it back. Come to find out they don't offer any returns, exchanges or money back bc all sales are final on EVERYTHING! EVERYTHING!!! and to top it off, their prices are $4-$7 higher than other places as well as Amazon! Very nice selection of clothing and shoes. I loved that they had a wide variety of shoes sizes for women shoes. Great prices and very clean store. Don't judge, but yes, I was one of those last minute shoppers getting presents the day before Christmas. My daughter requested a Nordstrom's gift card and I stopped by the store to get it. I did look around before I got in line to pay for the gift card. I looked in the make up section for Charlotte Tilbury, but they were mostly out of the preferred products. Truthfully, I didn't see much of a discount from the regular make up counter. My preferred way to shop at Nordstrom's Rack is online. Then, they put it aside for you and you come and get it. I bought a winter jacket for my granddaughter that way. It is really high quality, a name brand, and a good price. I have to give Kudos to the manager, who was dressed for the holiday and was giving chocolate to those of us in the long line. I loved the cute gift card and the cashiers were so nice and quick. The line looked daunting, but it moved fast. So, every year, I say that I am going to be better about shopping for presents. But, there is always someone who doesn't know what they want. Experience wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't for the potentially discriminatory way the security guard at the front door treated me. I noticed he didn't say "hello" or greet me but proceeded to greet EVERY other customer that walked in. Granted I was wearing a face mask and Asian maybe that's why? Wouldn't be surprised as it seems many American businesses seem to like to discriminate against Asians these days. Its decent location most days. This is my hub stop to buy Alex and Ani bracelets. Theyre 1/2 price in department stores. They carry tons of Northface and other big name brands. Service is mehhh. I think theyre overworked and understaffed. Checkouts can be a pain. What I dont like is that to speed things up is that if you pay by credit, they have a small unsecured device to process the payment.Not cool. Thats how breaches happen. Not cool. Lines can be ridiculously long most of the time. Shoe department is disastrous. Shoes are on the floor and are in disarray . The selection and brands of gone downhill. So its not my first stop when I enter the store. They carry Urban Decay makeup!! I love the fact that here its costs a lot less then at Sephora or online. Great department store at a discounted price. They have everything you need for the whole family - apparel, shoes, sunglasses, handbags, home goods, skin and hair care, cosmetics, hats, and jewelry. I generally go to the Columbia location, but the check out line at this location even with a line was way faster. That may be due to the fact that there were more registers. I also saw two express checkouts on each side of the store which the Columbia location does not have according to my recollection. The only times I go here is when I purchase something expensive for a pick up. It is a very depressing store with huge lines, piles of expensively priced clothes that are dumpy and personnel with blank faces. I've found some really great deals at this location. The staff here are friendly but there are 2 things that irk me about this store. 1 being that there are no carts in store, so you have to grab one outside before coming in. 2. The cashiers automatically stick your things in a shopping bag and charge you the 5 cent fee. So by the time it's time to pay and swipe your card, it's a hassle to tell them you don't need the bag. read more

This Nordstrom Rack has the BEST selection of clothing/accessories! I always find at least 1 thing at a bargain price when I come here. My favorite finds are a free people scarf and Madewell jeans. There's a separate section for bags/purses/wallets with all the same brands Nordstrom sells: Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Marc Jacobs, Coach, etc.. The home decor section has the cutest holiday decorations, and the makeup/beauty section has urban decay, stilla, and philosophy. Some Urban decays NAKED palettes were 50% off when I went today. There's usually a really long line, but the wait isn't as long as you think it'll be. The cashiers have the checkout process down to a science, so the line is always moving. I got new shoes! Who got new shoes? I got new shoes. This is pretty much my shoe store. You can find name brand shoes here for half sometimes more off. It's amazing They have a clothes section to obviously - and they've added/ I havent noticed till now- a little gifts section. I know I've gotten dress pants there and jeans, but not much else. Most of the shirts they have are kinda uggs. Not like uggs the brand. Just uggs. The selection is much wider for women's clothing. But yeah.. the shoe section. FANTASTIC! It's fairly well organized too. I was going through trying to find my section for size - and I saw a shoe there that wasn't my size... 3.5 stars. I initially started coming to this store because they are one of the few stores in the area that have a large and diverse collection of shoes in my size. However, I've been impressed by the clothing selection as well. They have a wide variety of brands and styles, and the prices won't put too big of a dent in your budget (personally, my respective derriere has never felt the need to be covered by $89 jeans, but... to each her own.) I'm almost ready to revamp my wardrobe again, and I'll have to add this store to my list of places to shop. My biggest complaint,however, is the staff. Some of them are great, but some of them act as if they "can't even", so they pretty much cancel out. I have asked some of the sales associates to find items for me in another size and I feel like they replied just a little too quickly that they didn't have what I was looking for (Wow! You were able to check the entire store, plus all the stores in the area AND online all in less than 15 seconds??). A few days ago I came into return an item and the line looked like 270 during rush hour. I asked an associate where the line for customer service was. He said that there was only one line (the long one), but that I could ask anyone in a green shirt for assistance with my return. Excellent! Well it took me three 'green shirts' to finally get me the help I needed. The first one was very terse in her response to another customer who was also asking for help. She paged another green shirt to help her, and I quickly set off in search of someone else. No time for short tempered sales staff. The 2nd green shirt must have been the one that received the page because she was muttering something about being on her way as she charged past me like a rhino with an attitude. I recognized her from my last visit when she repeatedly bumped me while returning clothes to the rack. No 'excuse me'. No "I'm sorry'. Just rude. I'm pretty sure that had I not stepped aside, she would have mowed me down. The third green shirt gave me the ol' "I don't work in this department" thing. I was ready to leave when I saw one more associate in the shoe department. He was able to help me right away. He was able to perform the return using an iphone app and the whole thing took less than 3 minutes... it took much longer than that to actually find competent help in the store. If the store made its staff get their collective act together, this could be a 4 or 4.5 star location. read more

8/20/2020 If I am returning an item from the app, the way a staff member holds it up should not determine whether I can return it or not. I had to show the cashier my purchase in the app for her to believe me! Craziness! 12/14/19 I'm still giving this location 1 star for these reasons: Plus size merchandise barely exists in this store! There are 3 racks for all plus size clothing! I needed Spanx or something similar and they had NO large sizes Very small section of plus size clothing with a next to nonexistent clearance for plus size and size XL! Returned merchandise from online... easy enough. Can I just say, it would be GREAT if the employees smiled... is it that hard? (I would feel more inclined to buy something if it was a friendly environment.) The first cashier, clueless, called on the phone to get me a temporary card. When I went to use it to pay, it didn't work! She failed to tell me that it was only good if the cashier was calling to pay for that particular transaction. So when I got back in line I had to go through the whole process again to get another temporary card. What a waste of 45 minutes! . Omg yes!! This Nordstrom rack off of shady grove has not only won over my heart but has won over my wallet! I was convinced after visiting a couple other Nordstrom racks that I just wasn't a fan. As SOON as I walked in it was like a RAY OF LIGHT SHINED DOWN ON ME! There were so many beautiful items to choose from. So organized. Not disheveled like other Nordstrom racks. The changing rooms were large. They even have the cutest home decor section. I found a bunch of work clothes. Always a fan of Nordstrom Rack but this review is a shout out to John the tailor at this specific store. I had a funeral and had to head out of town in just a few hours. I thought I was in big trouble having tossed my other appropriate suit recently. John came through in a big way and did a great job for me altering a suit. I tried to tip him but he wouldn't take it. Decided to give another try since its so convenient to my home. Lucky for me it was 25% off all clearance. I got some really good deals and there were plenty of registers open so the line moved fast. Can now take 15 items of clothing into the dressing room which is convenient on sale days. They now put a sign in your cart to keep others from lifting your finds while you are in the dressing room. Security has learned how to watch the store without invading your personal bubble. Cashiers very friendly. Well organized. Only complaint is the lingerie dept employees are so rude and grumpy. Asked several times where the 34DD clearance bras were and got pointed to racks or told "over there". Gave up on sale bras but hit the jackpot on Marc Jacobs, DVF, Hudson jeans etc. My receipt shows I saved 512.52$ today. Whoot! read more

This store is close to work so it makes for great lunch time shopping. Even when I go just to look I always find something too good to pass up. There are always clearance racks so deals can be had if you look. Occasionally (semi-annual sale) they will position additional cashiers throughout the store for quicker checkout. Nordstrom is one of my favorite places to shop in the DMV and this location has the best selection. The store layout is easy to navigate and I find new merchandise on a regular basis. The clearance section is well-organized by size on vertical wardrobe racks but the down side is that sometimes there is not enough aisle space. The checkout process is fairly quick and during clearance events and holidays employees are readily available. They simplify the checkout process by having someone remove sensors and hangers while you wait. When a cashier is free, they wave a flag. The mobile checkout process is great, I just wish they had more associates that carried a phone with them for it. There is a store associate named Mikey who is always pleasant to work with. He is so patient every time I have a return to make and has such a great attitude! read more

Lunchtime shopping is a dangerous, dangerous thing my friends. But maybe not so dangerous when you have to begrudgingly put down your oh-so-great finds because the line is far too long and you're due back in the office in 5 minutes. Oops. I love Nordstrom Rack and how I can find quality items that actually fit me - from their petite offerings to their 5-6 size shoe offerings. I especially like to dip in before work events for a cocktail dress because I know I can count on them for affordable options. For example, Calvin Klein dresses at Macy's go for ~$90-$135 and I've seen the same exact one at NR for $60. Steal. Lines are long, but I've always seen staff be all-hands-on-deck, working every register. I can't give a store slack for trying. My word of advice (to myself, in particular) is to time manage a bit better a la 'Supermarket Sweep' style and grab, grab, grab. read more

This location has good finds. Not amazing though. I don't find a lot of clearance items that are decent bc everything is snatched up before it even goes to sale. Dressing rooms are standard but on the small side. The bathrooms need to be better maintained. I was standing by the dressing rooms and bathrooms and it smelled sooooo bad. Sometimes they have great makeup finds. They don't have a ton of nice designer bags. They're pretty boring and the prices aren't that great. The lines are hell on the weekends. Avoid like the plague. The petite selection is slim and not attractive. When checking out they can speed it up by checking you out with an iPhone and portable credit card machine. read more

That line is always to the back of the store. Have made the trip there about 3 different times and have had to turn around and come back. Mail in returns have a $10 fee, but the in-store return means you lose an hour of your time. They need to find a new system in this store. Stopped in the other day to return an online order and there were two people working the register during lunch rush, makes no sense. After waiting for 15 minutes, a manager finally called more employees up front and finally got the line moving. People were not happy and back up should've been called immediately! I'm sure customers don't want to waste half of their lunch break waiting in line. After returning my shoes, I browsed around the shoe section and there were a few employees there that could've helped with the registers in the front. I have found quite a few items while shopping at Nordstrom Rack through the years. Some were great and I still have them and others I may have had to return. I don't mainly go here to shop for all my clothes, but will stop by if I know I am in the area or if they are having their off-the-rack sale (25% off their clearance items) which I think happens once in a while (don't hold me to that). Most times I go to this location, they usually have a line - you get used to it when you shop here, but they do have about 3 express stations at this location. Express meaning if you have 5 items or less, you are only using your credit card, you don't plan to return the items, then you can go to one of the Express stations and you will be out in like 5 seconds. I have never tried it as I don't mind waiting in their line. read more

Nice discounts and prices on many of the items. Some items are nice finds, and other items, well, it is kinda easy to see why they are available for such deep discounts. The store in general had LOTS of stuff, but only vaguely organized. So for example, to find a pair of women's dress black pants or a dressy top, a shopper has to (literally) go up and down and in and out of every area to search for the desired item.
