I was immediately blown away by the pictures of dresses I saw at Love Couture Bridal, so I immediately gave them a call, briefly explained my situation and asked them if they took walk-ins - and they told me to head on over!! Fast forward - I literally cannot BEGIN to tell you how I went from feeling overwhelmed and panicked, to completely calm and at ease!!! And that was ALL thanks to the AMAZING team at Love Couture Bridal; especially Lauren!!! From the minute I walked in, Lauren sat me down and explained what my options were given that my wedding was 5 DAYS AWAY!!! Yes... 5 days !! I described what I was hoping for in terms of styles, gave her my size and within 15 minutes she had at least 10 dresses pulled and ready for me to try on. Did I need to try on all 10? No - literally after trying on the second dress both my mum and I were in tears because it was evident that that was THE dress for me!!! After choosing the dress (or perhaps it was the dress choosing me), I was taken to another fitting room where Celeste (one of their AMAZING seamstresses), worked with my mother and I to go through what was needed in terms of the fitting. The level of attention to detail, and the kindness that was shown by Lauren and Celeste was absolutely AMAZING!!! My mother and I had a difference of opinion on how low the cut should be with my dress - and Celeste listened to us both and found an amazing middle ground!! Although I was not charged in the end, I was still left with a dress that I cannot wear and now have to pay someone else to try to repair. I appreciate that they did not charge me, but that does not make up for the time, stress, and damage to my dress. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop.

I had a really mixed experience here with the two different dresses I had altered. The first dress…read moreturned out wonderfully. I was initially impressed that she did not try to upsell me for alterations I didn't need. I will note, however, that i had to come back multiple times before getting everything done properly. For example, the first time she forgot to hem the under layer of my dress, so then I had to drive all the way back to Bethesda to pick it up again once she had done that. She also forgot to cut my veil to length. The second dress I had altered here was admittedly at the last minute. At first, I was just glad she could get to it with my wedding just a few weeks away. However, in hindsight, I wish she would have simply said she couldn't get it done in time. I had asked for the dress to be taken in, but somehow she totally altered the shape of the dress. She removed detailing around the bodice (I think to remove a weird lump, but she wound up changing the whole shilloutte). Then she somehow made the skirt far more voluminous. When I took the dress to a second seamstress for alterations, she was shocked at how bad of a job was done and told me I had to go back to elegant alterations and bridal and demand they fix it, as it was such a hack job I shouldn't have to pay someone else to fix it. Of course, Elegant Alterations and Bridal refused. She said because I didn't complain at the time of receiving the dress, it was too late and she did nothing wrong. At the time of the service, I did note the change, but she told me nothing could be done, and I had initially accepted it. But then once I got home and had more time to really look, I wondered why she had to change the shape and sought a second opinion. And that's when I realized she ruined my dress because she rushed. TLDR: She can do a wonderful job given enough time, and won't try to upsell you (although you may have to come back multiple times). However, don't trust her with a last minute job.

I came by myself since my friends could not clear their schedules in time given my quick scheduling. The place is called Fairytale and it did feel like Missy could be a fairy godmother. She had referenced the images I shared for inspo and had found a couple dresses like them for me to try. She also noticed I wasn't feeling quite comfortable in how I looked and was so encouraging. She suggested a couple of other dresses that I ended up liking more than I expected. She was showing how certain other dresses or details can help me feel like the right things are accentuated. She also gave some really helpful tips including dress timeline, tailoring, and candid yet kind thoughts. I did not catch the name of the other staff who was helping her but she was also awesome. They both helped me in and out of dresses. The other person also helped take pictures for me to reference later and even came running out with my phone when I left without it and only realized when I got in my car. They were both great. I highly recommend this place. There were some really pretty dresses for nice prices. A bit lighter for my size range but still options. The experience was also quite nice. Missy really helped me go through different styles and try on so many fun ideas! I came in just to try dresses, and ended up finding my dream dress! It was so unexpected and it was on a great deal. The dresses here are second hand or sample sizes donated. It's a great place to go if you want to stay on a good budget, and so many of the dresses I saw were brand new! They are by appointment only and everyone there is a volunteer. I've told so many people about the amazing experience and will always tell any bride to check them out! Completely worth it for sure.
