We got lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. Place didn't feel especially clean; floors and walls splattered, tables not cleared. There was only one employee bussing, serving, seating, and cashing people out though so what can you do. It was pretty busy for a Sunday as well. That said our server was very nice and attentive and checked on us several times we we really appreciated! We ordered the shrimp and veggie clear spring rolls, which was just cucumber, shredded iceberg and noodles and shrimp served with peanut sauce. They were ok. We ordered a veggie and tofu pho and a shrimp pho. Both were ok, broth wasn't especially flavorful but maybe they use a different broth for the beef phos vs the veggie and seafood pho's. We started eating here literally weekly. The service is ok when the young guy is the waiter. For the first time we went in, we had the younger woman with glasses as our waitress. Even though we went into the restaurant before a few other people, she tended to them first. Once it was our time to order, we wanted to order rice for our 2 year old who has eaten it here in the past. She literally just told us "oh no kids don't like fried rice" and simply offered us another bowl for the soup. Why would she want soup if she's 2? Even if she didn't like fried rice, shouldn't I get to order it anyway if I'm the paying customer? I can feed her what she likes and I should get to do that. I surprisingly enjoyed my food at I Love Pho! I've been here a handful of times now and while I do think some of the food is lacking, there are plenty of other interesting and tasty dishes to try. First, the pho. I do LOVE pho - just not here. The broth can be stronger. It can even be consistent please! One day it was thick and sweet, another day, it was plain. I'm partial to a savory broth that covers your mouth in gelatin like a good, thick bone broth. I've yet to find that anywhere in Midland. I also did not enjoy any of the boba milk teas. Instead, I recommend sticking to the Che and rice dishes. Che is a dessert drink made with different jellies, fruits, glutinous rice, seeds and/or beans covered in ice and either coconut milk or coconut water. Here it changes based on availability, so each time I come it's a different offering and you just have to physically go to the fridge to find what's available. I'd also avoid take out, as I think the serving sizes are less and often they don't give you everything you need. One time I was missing utensils and dipping sauce for the spring rolls but did not know until I got to my destination. Better to dine in. read more

As a former 3 year resident of Los Angeles, I'm a huge lover of Pho. With that said, I don't expect to get the same type of deals/ pho in Midland as I would a huge city. My first experience here was less than pleasant. We ordered to carry-out, and had to wait 45 minutes on our food. Brandon, one of the workers or managers was kind enough to treat us to a free meal on the restaurant the next week for this happening. Overall, the food is good, portions are average, and prices are actually somewhat high for what I would expect. Luckily for them, there isn't that much competition. The taste of the broth is acceptable...the meat and noodles are substantial... However, if you are going to choose "I love pho" or "I luv pho" (they should really pick a brand) DO NOT order them for delivery... A business should be aware of its market...and the market in Midland I would assume is 70/30% temporary residents versus permanent. I luv...or love...pho. You should consider sending your deliver orders with a bowl, like 99% of the other pho restaurants that deliver...a lot of us stay in hotels and we would love to have that great comforting meal that is pho, just like we do at home...where we have bowls...I am currently eating my delivery order in my hotel ice bucket. Oh also, flatware or chopsticks would be great too! Your preparation of a delivery order is flat out lazy...no chopsticks or flatware, no chili paste or sirracha, no effort at all. A disappointing & odd experience. 1.) No one greeted us & it didn't have that welcoming atmosphere. 2.) took awhile to be handed a menu. Lacked attentiveness and urgency throughout service. 3.) did not ask or take our beverage order or if we wanted anything to start. 4.) found this odd: the son (a 7 year old boy) of whom ever works at establishment, decided to sit with us (which that's not the weird part) but it was as if the business was having us babysit him for them our ENTIRE TIME AT THE RESTAURANT. That's unheard of. The adults/employees didn't even care to check on the little boy or tell him "hey please let these people enjoy their meal " kids will be kids, but I found that disrespectful on the restaurants end for allowing that to go on from the beginning to the end of our lunch. This included the child crossing boundaries, as far as personal space. I don't know about you but I wouldn't want my child to be cozied up with strangers. We definitely tried to be respectful and keep as much space between us, & yet still no parent in sight to regulate this child/situation. Our food being coughed on really did it for me. 5.) we were not tended to during our meal. Not checked on after receiving food, or asked if we needed anything. Not even asked to refill drinks we didn't get to order. We had to ask the little boy to check on the 2 smoothies we ordered with our meal, & didn't get that til the very end of our stay. All in all, I hope the business sees this as a learning experience. No one wants to see a potentially good business, lose business. But after the experience I've had, I hope some changes are made & maybe one day we will give "I love/luv pho" a second chance. *To avoid unnecessary bashing or hate to this business, I'm going to refrain from posting "not so good" pics from my experience. Came here on weeknight around 7 PM with a couple of friends. We sat ourselves at the establishment, since nobody greeted us upon our entrance. The restaurant had several waiters/waitresses at the establishment (around 4), however all of them were just on their phones or talking to each other. Our waiter was very unenthusiastic while taking our order and had no personality. I ordered the B1: Bun Bo Hue (Authentic Hue Style Noodle Soup) and an order of egg rolls. My soup order did not have all the ingredients that a typical bun bo hue dish has. It was missing the jelly-like cubes known as congealed pork blood. It was something expecting in my dish. I reminded the waiter of not having the egg rolls when he brought us our soup dishes. He was not thrill with my statement, and all he said was "it's coming". I saw other tables who came after us receive their egg rolls as appetizers. Our egg rolls came after we finished our entree. When I went up to pay, I ask the lady about the missing ingredient and she said "there's two kinds of Bun Bo Hue: The American and The traditional version. If you told the waiter that you wanted the traditional, then you would have had everything in the dish". However, if you look on their menu, they only have one type of BBH which was B1. NO WHERE on the menu does it state the types types that she was informing me about. In summary, this restaurant has mediocre food and horrible customer service. Finally came here after living in Midland for over a year and I definitely missed out. I'm from Dallas and Vietnamese food is not so scarce as it is here. I felt like I was in Dallas the moment I walked into the restaurant! Our server/waitress was super nice and friendly. She was friendly and made the eating experience enjoyable. The menu was big and super authentic to the Vietnamese culture, which is a breath of fresh air compared to every other restaurants here. I ordered the brisket with meatball pho. It came out super quick, which made me even happier. I got the small and they were super generous with the noodle and the brisket/meatballs.They gave everyone at the table a side dish of greenery, which is different but at least everyone has a serving. Was it the best bowl of pho I ever had? Definitely not. But it hit the spot/craving that I have had since coming to Midland. I am sure everything is mediocre here compared to the big cities, but what do you expect in West Texas? I'm glad to see a different type of restaurant in Midland and I'm sure others are as well. I came in about lunch time and it was pretty packed. The prices are super affordable and there are different sizes as well, which is a plus! I had to drive from Odessa to this location and it was worth it. My phò came out in less than 5 minutes which is impressive considering waiting times and service in this part of Texas. There was three families sitting in the other tables around dinner-time so the place wasn't nearly full of customers. The dinning area was clean and the tables were neatly set up with condiments, chop sticks and soup spoons. Silverware was also offered as an option from the young server. I had the Thai bobba tea, pork spring rolls and Vietnamese egg rolls, along with my chicken breast phò. I have to admit moving to west Texas from SoCal was kind of a culture shock but places like this one make it better. Before I left I visited the restroom and it wa pleasantly homie and clean. Because I was such a fan of the pho, I allowed the disrespectful behavior twice. I come here at least once a week. I have raved about it to others. But the praise ends today. I walked in on a cold night with a scratchy throat. I sat in my usual corner table and waited a few minutes for someone to greet me to take my order. After about 5 minutes I just decided to observe what could be taking so long. The waiter, the owner, another girl sitting down eating all noticed me looking, and ignored me. The girl who takes the money at the cash register finally came and took my order. As soon as I placed it, three white men walk in and the Asian server who REFUSED to serve or greet me was "johnny on the spot" for them. They hadn't even sat down before he was at their table taking their order. I got up and left. They will NEVER see another dime from me. I guess he wrongly assumed that because I am black I deserve sub-par service even though my money is as green as any white person's. It's disgusting to be treated this way in 2017. ESPECIALLY since I'm actually a good tipper. I would not recommend any self respecting black person to frequent this restaurant.
