I just know I can get all I can eat at "Souper Salad" for about $12 and this was weighed in with soup and a drink at nearly $18. If you have no problem paying for the true organic experience, then this is your spot. Seating can get really crunched during the lunch rush, since it is attached to Whole Foods, so be ready. If your goal is to eat healthier starting out , have plenty of room to sit and stretch out, then head over to Souper Salad on the loop. You will be much happier for your dollar at SS. read more

This place is absolute trash. We ate here today for $70!!! Three small soups, king casserole with two sides, drinks and premade dessert. The state of the place: dirty dishes on almost all table, dirty plates outside ON THE GROUND to feed stray cats (barf). The macaroni comes out of a Cisco style bag, I watched her take the plastic bag out of the heater, cut it open and put it in a pan... is their food off a food truck instead of "fresh made organic" in house stuff? The friendliness of the staff: the lady working the register was rude and could use a job in the back so she doesn't have to deal with customers. The black lady serving the food was nice. Do I feel any of these ladies used hygienic practices behind kitchen doors, no. Thankfully they wear gloves working the line. The food: the food was disgusting. I'm not going to lie. The soup was gross, can't describe the flavor (broccoli cheese). The tea (plain, unsweet) tasted like it was filtered through a cardboard box. The king casserole lacks seasoning. The macaroni and potatoes were completely cold and also taste of cardboard. The only things that were good were the carrot cake and the bottled Texas tea. Who knows if the carrot cake was made here or not. The seating: you can sit jammed into a small hallway area behind the food line, there are a few four tops and multiple two tops - good luck. We went to sit outside, with the option of two tables on a slope (one up by dirty dished cat food, mentioned above) and three off the slope with missing chairs or the second cat slop dish. A worker had one of the shaded tables taken so we took the cat slop table. All in all, would I take my grandmother here? Absolutely never. This is a slop shop and I'm disgusted. Should be shut down honestly. The grocery store could use the space and it would be an improvement.. even if it was dead space, it would be improved. read more

I really wanted to love this place but I dropped by on a Wednesday for lunch takeout and there wasn't a wait. I ordered a Border wrap for a friend and the Osaka wrap for myself, both with pasta salad. The pasta salad was ok but the wrap was SO DRY!!!!!! The salmon was like dehydrated brisket, it was flaked apart and almost chewy and sooo fishy. Then the rice was literally CRUNCHY because of how dry it was, it might have not even been cooked??? And I didn't like the wasabi dressing either, too strong. I'll give it another shot but I was not impressed. read more

Got the beef burrito which was very delicious, but it had a hair in it, unfortunately. My husband got a burger which he loved, but the chips were stale. I know hair happens sometimes, but it just doesn't sit well when you have to pull a long hair out of your burrito. I would still give this place another shot though because I love their options and ingredients! Not sure what happened to the great help at Strawberry Fields Cafe. I stopped in a few weeks ago and found that the friendly, hard-working crew and the Hispanic lady who was always at the front no longer works there. I was very saddened by this. Then I found out that the woman who replaced the friendly Hispanic woman is not a good replacement. She's S L O W and talks way too much to the help instead of giving customers her attention. I ate here with my dear sweet mother on my way out of town after visiting the family for a week. My mom was extremely excited to show me that Midland had a great organic cafe with yummy food at acceptable prices. I had the 1/2 reuben and cup of chicken tortilla soup. While the turkey Reuben could have used less salt and more Russian dressing the meal was all together great for the price. My mother got a salad and her favorite chicken enchiladas, which she seems to get often and she loves it each time she has them. I especially liked the decor. I can't imagine how much time it took to acquire the amount of old magazines they have hanging on the walls. Whow. I wouldn't mind having 3 or 5 or maybe 11 of the magazines I noticed with people such as the David Bowie and the Beetles adorning the covers. I'm a sucker for anything vintage. What can I say? Something tells me Strawberry Fields will be a leaving-town-tradition when in town visiting. I look forward to spending more time in the organic market that this cute cafe is connected to also. read more

Food is good if you're into healthy food if not everyone I d taken says it's bland and tasteless. I love it but the price is a bit pricey for small portions but that's midland and a healthy food place for you! Also they always have vegan/vegetarian options and Thursdays are vegan stir fry! read more

Strawberry Fields has great food but I am disappointed in the amount of plastic used here. Health food stores should have higher standards by refusing to offer plastic utensils and styrofoam cups. Biodegradable options are available and should be used upon request only. When I asked the woman at the deli for a non-reusable cup she had to go and find one which took several minutes. read more

Strawberry Fields is the only place in Midland where you can get a fresh organic meal, and where vegetarians have plenty of choices. There is limited seating, so I suggest getting there either by 11:30, or after 1:30. Otherwise, you may be left to wander around with your tray of food feeling like a new kid in high school hoping for an invitation to sit. There are always three fresh soups. Usually, one meat based and two veggie options. The salad bar is diverse; not your usual iceberg and ranch dressing variety. There is also a hot food area, there will be one veggie entree and one meat entree, plus about four different sides to choose from. You can get the entree alone, or decide to add one or two sides. Your price will range from $5.50 - 10.50 depending on what you order. Sandwiches, wraps and smoothies round out the menu. I love that I always feel satisfied when I leave, but never like I am about to burst and need a nap. It is simple, accessible and healthy food. read more

After reading the reviews from other Yelpers I thought I had found a great and healthy choice for lunch. Well, the later of the two is correct. The food is fresh and mostly organic but the options aren't that of most salad bars. I didn't see vegan or vegetarian described, yet their "bacon" bits are soy bacon, the croutons look like whole wheat bread cut up and not even toasted. No sunflower seeds...but sunflower sprouts. No sight of any meat on this bar, no beets, - And when it came to the sandwich and smoothie we ordered - NO FLAVOR. $7.99 a lb salad bar is what I opted for. A pound?! I've never been to a restaurant that does per pound - hence the beauty of salad bars. Right? And I'm pretty sure my "weight" included that of the plate. Not cool. Not an edible plate; though if I'd attempted - I'm sure I'd be more satisfied than I am right now. Well, that's almost $30 and 30 minutes I'll never get back. :-( Hopefully this review will save YOUR time and money. Strawberry Fields - great idea, step it up though. FYI Strawberry Fields is located inside of the Natural Grocers store, so you don't...ummm.....drive around in circles trying to locate it. The cafe has really great hours, opening at 9AM. Seems like it would be really convenient to eat here then grocery shop. The osaka wrap was tasty, and extra points for having wild caught salmon this far inland. The soy wasabi dressing gave it some POW, so if you don't like spicy pick something else. The menu has a good spread of sandwiches, wraps, burgers(with grass fed beef or salmon/veggie patty), along with a soup and salad bar. Delicious and nutritious. read more

Been a while since I've eaten here, about two years now. It's not like it was then. The food from the hot bar was actually room temperature, I asked that they could please heat it up, especially the mashed potatoes and the grilled salmon. The salad bar was quite sparse nutrient rich fresh raw vegetables. My meal came to US$42, that included a vegetable drink and a carrot cake muffin. I was a bit dissatisfied with the customer service, not that they should go out of their way over and above pouring sweet South Texas hospitality on me like gravy, but acknowledgment, a smile a "can I get you anything else" would probably go a long way. The Osaka Salmon wrap is my favorite here. It has salmon, rice, cucumbers and wasabi sauce. They have good soups and a salad bar with all organic ingredients and chicken and tuna salad. I also like the canned drinks here like the "Jamaican Lemonade Spritzer". The food always seems to leave you feeling really good after you eat it. They have a '60s rock and roll theme with '60s music and framed sheet music and rock magazines. I wish there were more places around which served the kind of nutritious food Strawberry Fields does. A potential problem can be if you go during peak lunch times. The dining room is kind of small and there may not be a place to sit. read more

Loved this place! The carrot cake GF was the bomb. Can't even tell that it's gluten free. I had gotten a wrap and the veggies and turkey meat tasted fresh. I enjoyed coming here with my family for lunch or dinner (when I used to live in Midland (2014). The atmosphere is nice & conducive to conversation. I like the decor depicting all the different albums (Beatles, Neil Diamond, Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly, etc), it's like being in some kind of rock-n-roll museum. The restrooms are shared with the grocery store (Natural Foods Market), & are one-seaters, but I haven't really had a problem with waiting. Of course the food is just excellent. Lots of vegetarian-friendly choices! And some cooked dishes have the ingredients listed (helpful for those with food allergies). They also have great smoothies, juices, & cookies/brownies. read more

When I stayed in Midland for a weekend, I was a bit wary of not having enough international or healthy choices, but I was pleasantly surprised with this little restaurant. A word of caution: even if the weather is nice outside and you're tempted to sit on the patio, don't forget the wind! It may not tip over your plate at first when it's full, but the more you eat, the higher the chances the stuffed avocado will fly onto your lap. I also had one of their lemonades, which sounded delicious, but was a bit too sugary for my tastes. Everyone else seems to rave about their lemonades, though, so maybe I just like my drinks more tart. read more

This is the best place to eat in midland by far. One bite of the Sonoma Chicken Salad sandwich will put every bad review to rest, it's incredible. And the King ranch casserole is off the wall. And don't forget to get a side of chips and salsa and a slice of the best chocolate cake you'll ever have. I love this place so much and the people are the best. John always makes sure you're treated right, so become friends with him. Since I've joined the plant-based food movement, I've noticed that the vegetable entrees here are very small servings, compared to the size of the chicken entrees. so much so that even the cashier has asked if they were the 1/2 size serving for the lunch specials. I am currently sitting at a corner table in Strawberry Fields eating the No-bull Burger and drinking a kombucha. The burger is not bad. It's really just a frozen veggie burger heated up and topped with sprouts, lettuce, onions and tomatoes. Nothing fancy, but good. The side of Spanish rice I ordered is dry and hardened in spots. It is still pretty tasty. Service was friendly and quick. I like the diner-esque atmosphere. It is very busy and there is a low, comforting roar of conversations. The classic music and pop culture decorations are quaint and add to the diner feel. I will probably eat here again, but I'm not blown away. The major positive is that there is a selection of kombucha. Definitely check this place out, but maybe try to avoid the insane lunch rush around noon on weekdays. read more

It tastes like they buy organic food off the shelves next door and just warm it up for you. Nothing tastes bad, but nothing is good or memorable either. Which would be ok if the prices weren't so high. The restaurant itself is way too small and is very crowded at lunch. It's crowded if 10 people are there.
