My son's gaming PC was suddenly shutting down on him in the middle of playing a game. This happened several times then he stopped using it. Our research showed it may have been the power supply. Since it was just before Christmas, I purchased one for him as one of his presents. We then installed it right after Christmas. Being new to the Gaming PC building world, we took the easy way out and reused the existing cables (no directions came with the power supply) and plugged them in to the new power supply. That did not work and nothing turned on. Further internet research said the multiple shutdowns while playing may have fried the mother board so back to Best Buy we went and purchased a new mother board. I asked the sales man if the 8 pin CPU cables were the same as the 8 pin PCI-E cables and he answered yes. We then went home and installed the new mother board with the new cables. Again, nothing turned on. We then made an appointment for Best Buy Geek Squad. After explaining everything to them, they refused to even look at the PC. They said using the old cables fried the brand new power supply, brand new mother board and possibly other parts. They did not have the tools to even test the power supply and said they wouldn't even if they had the tool. They did confirm though that the CPU cables and PCI-E cables were entirely different and I was misled by the salesman. We were devastated at this news and the money we were out. Refusing to give up and spend a lot more money, we contacted iNet. Jim was extremely kind and helpful. He tested the old 750W power supply and looked up information as to why it may have been shutting down during game play providing us with the information. (The 750W has an over power protection setting that will shut down if it draws too much power.) He also tested the new 850W power supply with everything unplugged. Both power supplies were good. Jim and I then discussed our options and decided to proceed with plugging in one thing at a time and testing the power supply after each item is plugged in to narrow down the possibilities. Each one tested good. That left us with only the graphics card which needed the CPU cables replaced with the PCI-E cables. We thanked Jim for being so kind and helpful and not simply turning us away like Best Buy Geek Squad did. We went home and swapped out the cables to the graphics card with the correct ones. With hopes high and fingers crossed, we turned on the PC. Everything lit right up!! My son then took it to his room and back playing his online games with no issues. My son's computer was saved all thanks to Jim. I cannot tell you enough how kind, patient, and sympathetic Jim was to us and our situation. I love i-Net! I am blessed to have found them (him?). Jim is the one who fixed my computers and he is responsive, knowledgeable, communicative, patient, and honest. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! INTEGRITY I was very hesitant to give my computer to a stranger, but Jim is an honest person. He was very respectful of our privacy with regard to passwords or personal info. I ended up just letting him log into our accounts because I realized I can trust him. When it was determined that one of my laptops needed a new hard drive (HD), he quoted me the price - without any extra installation fee -- and said I could purchase the hardware from him or buy it online. After searching online for a similar product, I decided to go with the Seagate HD he had because I wouldn't have gained anything or saved money by buying online. When I asked if he might be able to fix my Android tablet, too, and he said he could take a shot at it but did not recommend it since he has not worked with Android tablets before. Otherwise, if I asked a question and he did not immediately know the answer, he would research it for me. PRICE Cannot be beat. I saved a LOT of money compared to larger operations or other providers. I basically have two new laptops for less than the price of one. I spent about $150 on two laptops: Laptop 1 - diagnostics, HD replacement (hardware included in above price), reinstallation of Windows and other software Laptop 2 - diagnostics, extensive removal of spyware/malware/viruses/trojans, extended stress tests to ensure optimal performance and no returning signs of infection SPEED/RESPONSIVENESS Jim responds very quickly. He never left me hanging or wondering what was going on. I love that! He also has a quick turn-around time of generally 1-2 days, depending on what is going on. Our heavily infected laptop took a bit longer but he kept in touch with me the whole time, providing status/progress updates, and I also wasn't in a rush to get it back. If I was, I'm sure that he would have moved it to a higher priority. PATIENCE Have you ever dealt with a technical/IT person and felt like they thought you were an idiot for not knowing all the technical stuff they do? Not Jim, He is very respectful, helpful, and patient. He took the time to explain to me what was going on in without using any jargon. I asked for advice on how to avoid future spyware/virus infections and he also took the time to explain that to me as well. OVERALL Cannot say enough good things. If you live in the Brentwood East County area and need any PC repair service, you should call Jim first. If you don't, you will probably way overspend due to both higher rates and dishonesty (ex. telling you that you need X service or Y part when you don't). Don't hesitate to call him! read more

Took my computer to Jim based on the reviews. They are right on and I was not disappointed. Upon first meeting Jim asked what it was I wanted to do with my computer. Just wanted him to clean my machine, (of virus or malware) possibly insert a new master drive and make my current drive a slave. Jim was great about discussing different options. Of which I was delighted. He informed me that their are very fast drives out there (solid state) if I wanted to consider that. I received my solid state drive, mounting box, and cable and took them over to Jim. Within two days he had my solid state drive in and Windows 10 installed. As we were right down to the wire as far as getting the free download done that day, he was able to install the drive, install the original operating system (8.1) and get the Windows 10 upgrade installed. He also cleaned my original drive, and made it a slave. Now I have a 2TB drive installed internal that I can use for backup. Plus it frees up the 960Solid State to run my Photoshop software. He also saved the files I had on the original drive. He called me within a day 1/2 to tell me everything was ready. As I had discussed adding more USB drives, he ordered me a 7 port USB 3 unit, at an extremely low price. I picked up my computer earlier today, have all my toys plugged in, turned it on, and it is as if it never left my house. Except much faster. Jim, I am more than pleased with the job you did for me. Jim is great to do business with. Great customer service, quality of service, and price. He definitely knows computers and keeps up with the new tech trends. He's also nice, easy to contact, and talk to even if you don't know crap about computers. My situation was my computer gave up on life. Could not get it to start properly. So before I turned it in for repairs, I needed to retrieve and store my files. I found Jim here on yelp and decided to go the small business route for many reasons, but mainly since he was offering me a better deal than Best Buy for what I needed. It turned out to be better than I expected. He first tried to see if he couldn't get my laptop running himself. It didn't work, so he did what was originally planned. And I didn't have my own external hard drive, so he was happy to temporarily store it on one of his. Just to give you an idea... I called Best Buy and for what I needed, they were charging minimum $100. Assuming nothing went wrong and they did not have to spend extra time working on it. Also they were saying that I would need to purchase an external hard drive which would have brought it up to at least $200 easy. There ended up being some slight problems with my laptop and Jim didn't bring up my quoted price. Thanks to him, I saved so much money. I'm so grateful. This is my second time taking a computer to I-Net. Both experiences have been excellent. My first experience: My desktop cooling system had stopped working, causing my computer to shut down. I fist took the computer to Best Buy (Geek Squad), and they told me I should just buy a new one. I decided to try I-Net hoping to save the information that was on my PC. Upon arriving to I-Net, Jim immediately opened my PC, and diagnosed the problem. He had my PC fixed the next day & even upgraded a few things. Most surprising was the price, he was able to fix everything for an unbelievable great price. My second experience was today (10-24-14): My computer stopped working. It would start up, but nothing would show on my monitor. I called Jim, who told me to bring it right over. Upon arrival, Jim opened up my PC and started troubleshooting. He found my PC had 2 video cards, and 1 had burned up. He switched out the bad video card, and my PC fired right up.... Amazing!!!!! I highly recommend Jim at I-Net. I bought a new D_ll from B Buy, and this past weekend, it was hit by a virus, which pretty much shut it down...took it to Best Buy's Geek Squad...and their response was what I expected...yes, your computer is still under warranty, BUT....we will charge you minimum $230, probably more based on what we find...so I of course walked away...did a google search on my laptop, and found good reviews on YELP for I-net, so thought I would try them out ! OMG, Jim hase been such an amazing help...took my computer late on a Saturday when they were closed and he had a date later, but waited for me...told me he would charge me no more than 1.5 hours to fix it (...assured me there was nothing serious, and sure enough, Monday morning called me with the good news that the virus'es were all removed and the computer was running great now...I am very impressed with his intelligence, honesty, integrity, and customer service...wow ! Jim is amazing. I had a totally awful situation where we turned on our computer only to find everything missing and an older version of Windows installed. My husband is very tech savvy but even he was at a loss. After attempting our own troubleshooting and researching our scenario like crazy we came to the conclusion that we had been hacked. This was especially frightening because my husband and I are dual business owners. Jim worked a miracle for us by discovering that what had actually happened was that our computer had defaulted to an older hard drive. Jim is awesome to work with--I had been having computer issues for a while; my laptop was to the point of no return as far as I could tell and I was pretty nervous about it and wondered with dread as to what the diagnosis would be! I met up with Jim a couple of months ago and dropped off my laptop with him--he was very prompt in getting to the bottom of the issues with my computer and took the time to explain everything to me that he had done to fix it! I received a very detailed invoice outlining everything, which I appreciate, and the price was reasonable--I'd spent a good amount on this Dell a few years ago and was worried I'd have to accept that it was toast...wasn't the case though, thanks to Jim! In my 30+ years of business ownership, I had dealt with every conceivable variety of IT "wizard". I knew that my best odds were with a small shop, where the technician is also the owner/manager. Jim of Inet Computer Services is the man. Not only is he competent, honest and responsive, he is friendly and a fine communicator. We used INET again, this time on our home computer. We found out when the tech arrived that our Dell did NOT need to be replaced as the store said. When we called Jim said - let me just stop by and take a quick look - he did and the fans were so plugged with dirt it was overheating. He took it outside and blew canned air thru the fans. We did need one replaced as it was running very slow and making noise. $10 for the fan and $50 for a half hour of work and we did not even have to take it in again!! Should have call Jim first. He tweaked a couple of settings and it runs even better than when we got it from Dell online 3 years ago.Highly recommend!!!! read more

This company rocks! In a world full of Best Buys and geeks squads, it's nice to have a locally owned shop to get my laptop fixed. Jim was great to work with, very personable and intelligent! Jim is honest trustworthy Person and great computer technician. I have a Dell xps 8700 desktop that I have had since Oct 2013. My power button stop working and Jim replaced it and still working great today that was replaced in 2020. Then my computer was starting to run real slow in December 2024. I had a terrible experience when my computer crashed and was told by a local computer repair shop its junk, just buy a new one. So all my work files and family photos would be lost for good.
